Trust Issues: Recent Episodes

Podcast Princess, Ropafadzo

“Trust Issues” is a podcast that seeks to combat the plague of the trust wound. Im a psychology student who probably like you, has experienced a word of unlucky moments that contributed to her feeling like “maybe, the world is out to get me”. When the world gets small, it feels like everything bad gets bigger. And you’re lost in a sea of madness and sadness. I’m there now. And I know the only way out, is through. And the only way through is thoroughly and mindfully observing my “self”. Wounded or not, It’s time to stop self sabotaging.

Welcome to episode 3 on day 33 [google angel#333 if you’re TUNING IN to this episode]. Today we talk about the feeling of moving back to the past to when the trust was broken in our relationship. What needs to be done when these feelings arise? Todays episode is more for the people who are in a relationship with someone who has betrayed their trust and are trying to rebuild it with. There’s no judgement form here, I’m in the same boat as all of you. And my situation might be incredibly more different then yours (depending on who you are as I wouldn’t really know!) but I’m any case I think it’s fair to say that we’re all sort of struggling with the same thoughts as we try to come back to the current day and find sympathy for the version of ourselves that said they wanted to make it work. “Can I trust them?” We ask ourselves about our partners. Even though we may currently already be 3 months into the healing process with them! “is it worth it?” We ask ourselves, holding back tears and trying to swallow the sick feeling pit inside our stomachs, only 3 days into reconciliation. “Can they truly give me what I want through this challenging time?” We ponder, worried our wants and needs may be too great for them to bear, and therefore warrant no attention or an unwavering commitment to appease. A year into the journey as a couple healing the trust wound. The truth is, no amount of time passes that makes these questions not worth answering. You deserve to feel assured by the decisions you made as a younger he, her or other. And sometimes that means travelling to the past. A past where everything was at some point in the deepness of it all; black or white. Healing our wounds requires to listen to the voice and sound of our soul. Of our intuition. Of our being. And to decide what steps suit us best. Healing trust, requires you to be honest with yourself through that process. And to know that you’re doing it with your best interest at heart. You know what happened. You know why you’re here. 50% of all that happens is yours to bare. Pain or please. It’s okay that we go through plain to see clearly pleasure. I want us to do that together because it gets lonely when you’re alone or when you’re with people who don’t understand your qualms. Whatever happened, you deserve to know what to do about it next. You deserve to get the first say regarding what is necessary in your journey towards healing. So, buckle up, let’s answer some questions. Feel our emotions. And walk away stronger, knowing that whatever we choose, we are still worthy of the highest love and VERY capable individuals of getting and reviving it. Namaste 🌞

In this episode we begin to take a look at how other people can influence the relationship we have to ourselves, in a term I’m going to coin and name ‘personal trust’. It’s important that we realise that for our relationships to form foundations of trust, they have to first begin singularly with us. Because it is the decision to trust that ultimately lies with us. And so if we decide not to, what is that relationship going to say or do? Nothing. It simply cannot continuously grow in the direction of a high vibration. It’s important that we take a look at the relationship we have to ourselves and realise that ultimately it is that relationship and our freedom of choice that gets to decide whether or not we trust ourselves and others in a relationship, (to self or other). But sometimes it’s not that easy - or rather it is but it doesn’t seem that way -. And that’s because the people around us make it very difficult for us to naturally be drawn to choosing interestingly enough ourselves. Which is the basis for trust in self. Going so far as to encourage the stereotype that we are not smart, wise, knowledgeable, old, or intuitive enough to know what we are doing when we make the decision to trust in ourselves and act. From personal experience I can branch onto this feeling because of the relationship that I’ve had with my family. Which we’ll get into in this episode. BTW! I mentioned my boyfriend in this episode and to be completely honest I have no idea why, I honestly don’t remember. So instead of going back and listening, I’ll just say that that’s for the podcast to know and for you to find out. At the end of the day, despite what other people may say, trusting yourself is your key to happiness and your key to freedom in any relationship whether one broken my trust itself seeking to rebuild, or one beginning to build those foundation at its start. So today’s episode make sure you’re settled because we’re gonna talk about why it’s so difficult for us to trust ourselves and a little on how we can slowly begin to burrow through the paradigms and conditioning put upon us by others.. namely those closest to us. Today I found horrible news. The relationship I was in that to the naked eye seemed to be going perfect was coming crashing down with the help of an unlocked Facebook account and text messages one party possibly wished they had deleted. Trust, loyalty, and honesty above all else are the most important foundations for any relationship that started in a stage were one or both parties were occupying unstable attachment styles. When one, (or all 3) goes out the window, how in earth are you supposed to feel emotionally secure in your relationships to self and other. Especially when choices about the next steps you’ll need to take to manoeuvre this situation are pressing? That’s my dilemma for today. And while crying helped a big deal... it was time for me to start investing so I could start answering those very same questions.
