S1 E12 • Zamzam & Nour • 'wherever we are, we try to be alive'

"You have no idea how complicated it is to be Palestinian"

Although both share Palestinian roots, their life experiences have been drastically different one from another. Nour is a Palestinian refugee who grew up in Gaza. She recounts the difficulty to safeguard a sense of togertherness between the scattered Palestinian diaspora and the isolated Palestinian remaining in their land. Daughter and granddaughter to Palestinian refugees, Zamzam is a Syrian-Palestinian who spent most of her life in Syria before fleeing the war. By contrast to Nour, Zamzam was raised to know all about her roots and the condition of the Palestinian people, although she never set foot in Palestine.

This episode slightly differs from the previous ones. We have decided to hold space for our two guests, who brillantly succeeded in interviewing each other. Nour and Zamzam, as the last guests for this first season, we cannot thank you enough for such a moving conversation ♥️☀️

From? Podcast

Welcome to 'From?'

'From?' is a podcast in which we all come from different places, spaces and communities. In the image of the international student Campus where this podcast is born, diversity will be our fuel.

We are Marine and Raphaëlle, and together, we will stay up late into the night listening to our friends’ stories. 'From?' aims to bring into light the plurality of lived-experiences that foster one's sense of identity and belonging

Our guests' trajectories are all very unique but somehow intersect here in Sweden. We will look into the nature of those different links and see how they relate to one same place.

Every other Sunday, we will share a conversation, and it will be available on every podcast platform. Make yourself at home, open an ear (or two), and get ready to be moved with us.
