Hello Nexo community! This is my entry to the Week 8 of Nexokê Contest. Since this is the very first time I'm participating on this contest, I'm not sure I got everything right so any and all feedback is very much appreciated.
The songFor this one, I chose the song Nutshell, by the grunge band Alice in Chains. I'm huge fan of the band and this is one of my favourite songs by them ever since I watched their great MTV Unplugged! Nutshell is the song that opens that concert and I really loved the way they did it live. You can see it watch if you want to see what I'm talking about.
Anyway, I really love this song and it's one of the few songs by Alice in Chains that I think I can do an average job as a singer. And I do mean average! I'm not a great singer, plus Layne Staley vocals are very HARD to mimic but I gave my best shot!
The gearTo record this cover, I used my custom shop Tele style guitar, which is one of my favorite guitars that I own! I thought about using an acousting to record this but my acoustic is broken at the moment and I haven't had the time to get it fixed.
I plugged the guitar directly into my Orange Tiny Terror amp which I also love! It's not exactly the best amp for clean sounds but I think I was able to get a decent tune out of it.
I recorded it using my phone, which is not great but for now is the best I can do! I'm saving up to get a good recording microphone and an audio interface to increase the quality of my recordings but that will have to wait a little.
ConclusionSo this is it! My very first entry to Nexokê and I hope to do it every week from now on if I have the time, which is not always easy!

Hello hello, it's been a while but I'm back with Tele Tuesday!
This is a bit of a special one because it's the end of a cycle but more on that later.
First of all, let me start by apoligizing to Neil Young because I really didn't do him justice with this one! I was practicing some new scales and decided to apply the theory to this song but the solos didn't come out as good as I hope.
No big deal, it happens. I still recorded it and still uploaded it because, if anything, in the future I will get to look back to this and realize how much I improved.
So, the song is Rockin' in the Free World by Neil Young and its a great one! Funny story about this song: the first time I heard it was actually the G3 version played by Joe Satriani, Steve Vai and Yngwie Malmsteen. That was back in the day when I didn't really care much about the classic and I was all about shredding! It's not that shredding is not cool and I still enjoy watching/listening to those guys from time to time, it's just that my taste in music changed a bit since then.
But anyway, the song is pretty simple but still pretty rad! The main riff is super recognizable and it packs a lot of power, same as the chorus. The lyrics are pretty cool too, if you ignore some bits that don't make a whole lot of sense (but are important for rhymes, metrics and what not).
And the solo... well, as I mentioned already, I completely butchered it hehehe
I had no intention of playing it note by note what Neil plays on the recording but I still wanted it to sound better. Maybe next time!
In the beginning of this post I mentioned that this is the end of a cycle so now it's time to say why.
If you red my posts regularly, you may know that I bought a new amp! Yes! I got a new Orange Tiny Terror now so I will be retiring my old Meteoro Amp. It served me well but the time has come for me to move on!
However, I recorded this video before the new amp was delivered meaning that (unless something unferseen happens) this is the last video recorded with that amp that I will be uploading. Hopefully the next ones will be recorded with the new Orange!
The guitar is still the same, my loyal custom Tele!

My main amp is a Fender DeVille 212 which I love but it's way too loud for my apartment so I use it mainly for giging. I also have a small Meteoro amp which I was using to play at home, study and record some guitar videos but as thankful as I am to that amp because it was the one I used for many years while learning guitar, it's really not great.
I wanted a little more quality at bedroom volume so I started looking for a new amp. I also wanted to get a different sound than what I already have with the Fender, which, again, I love, but it's always nice to broaden our horizons. That being said, I started looking for a british style amp and the Orange Tiny Terror immediatly draw my attention and I decided to pull the trigger on it.
It's been only a few days since I got it but I can already tell it was a very solid choice! This tiny amp has a full-valve (or tube) circuit and 15W (although it can be atenuated down to 7W) of pure british power!
As I mentioned on the video, I won't go into technical details or anything like that in this post and will do a different one just for that prupose, which I will link to this when I'm done. The main idea here is jsut demo some of the tones you can get out of this little amp.
Speaking of which, don't let it's compact size and name fool you. This amp is a beast! I have yet to try it with a live band but I was told by multiple people that it's totally usable in a band rehearsal and also small gigs, even if your drummer is loud.
It also has a broad range of tones so, although I wouldn't called it exactly versatile, you can go anywhere from a decent clean tone to a quite heavy distorted sound that will win the hearts (and ears) of bluesmen and hard rockers alike!I'm still exploring the tonal range that the Tiny Terror has to offer but, for now, my favorite setting is the mid-gain crunch sound that you can get with the gain knob around noon. It's just too good!So this is it! I hope you enjoy this short demo and be sure that there is more to come! I will soon start uploading some videos that I will record using this new amp. Life has been crazy!
It's been a while since the last guitar cover I uploaded here on Hive. What can I say? Life has been really, really busy.
The fact that recording these videos involve two of my biggest priorities in life (music and Hive) shows how busy I was. I usually try to prioritize setting some time aside to play guitar and interact with the Hive blockchain, but lately, things have been so hectic that I couldn't do either of those things.
This week I had a little time to breathe, so here I am! Hopefully, I'll get back to my routine, but my life can sometimes be very unpredictable.
But enough about that. Let's get down to business!
Celebrity Skin by Hole Let me start by saying that I didn't really know that band until very recently. I mean, I knew they existed and all that, but I never really bothered to check them out. I'm a bit ashamed to admit that this was primarily due to a "rivalry" that dates back to my teenage years. I was a huge Nirvana fan, and if you know what I'm talking about, you probably also know that Courtney Love, the lead singer of Hole is not exactly loved (pun intended) by most die-hard Nirvana fans out there, but that's a story for another post.
Let's say I've outgrown that whole story, and I was pleasantly surprised when my music streaming platform suggested the song "Celebrity Skin" by Hole. It immediately got to me!
The song is as simple as it can be, which is why I like it so much. The main riff is really catchy, and I like the way the band plays with pauses, question-and-answer dynamics, and, let's be honest, Courtney's voice fits the song very nicely.
I had never played this song before and learned it in a few minutes right before recording, and that's not to praise myself, but the song is actually straightforward, as I said. There are a few licks that I didn't bother to record, but other than that, it's pretty much the main riff, chorus and a sort of "bridge".
This thing I'm calling a "bridge" is softer on the guitar compared to the rest of the song, and I guess I could have used a pedal to make it easier to alternate between the harder parts and the softer bridge, but recently I've been trying to plug straight to the amp as often as I can because I love playing that way. It can also be a good exercise for dynamics because, in the absence of a footswitch to turn overdrive/distortion on and off, I had to do it using my guitar's volume knob and right-hand dynamics.
Speaking of guitar, in terms of gear, I used my custom shop Tele guitar, which is the one I feature the most on these videos, plugged straight into a Meteoro amp. The guitar is excellent; the amp, not so much, but I think I could still get a decent sound out of them.

After a short absence, I'm back with a #teletuesday post! I was very busy last week and, not gonna lie, a little less organized than I usually am, so I didn't have time to do my post for that week.
This week is being completely different, though, and I'm feeling productive as I haven't in a long time! I hope I can carry on this productivity streak throughout the week!
But let's talk about the song!
Box Car Racer, for those who don't know them, was a side project by Blink 182 singer and guitarist Tom DeLonge. The group also included drummer Travis Barker, also from Blink 182 and guitarrist David Kennedy of Hazen Street.
Despite having two members of Blink 182, Box Car Racer was a very different project. It also had strong roots in punk rock but the lyrics and general vibe of the songs were much more mature and, why not, darker.
Their first and only album named simply Box Car Racer featured 13 songs and did quite well commercially despite the fact that there was virtually no promotion for it.
Even after the unexpected success o the album, the project was shelved by Tom in 2003.
However, he confirmed last year that Travis and himself were working on a new song for the project that has yet to be released.
Personally, I like most of the songs on the album but, for some reason, "Letters to God" speaks to me in a special way and that is why I chose this song.
It's a simple song but I really like the way it starts very soft and easy and then breaks down in a heavy punk song at the end. There is also a piano part which I wasn't able to keep in the backtrack because the AI used to generate it was a bit confused and put it together with the guitar track, which was removed but I still liked te final result!
As usual, I used my custom shop Tele type guitar, a Meteoro amp and a BOSS OD 20 emulating a Proco Rat for the heavy part. The clean sound was just the Tele plugged straight into the amp.

I'm back with yet another guitar cover vídeo right here on 3Speak, on the Hive blockchain!
I'll do this post slightly different, according to the valuable feedback of @eugelys and instead of just talking brifly about the video and the equipment used, I'll explore a little more the reasons why I chose this one in the first place.
Green Day was a big part of my life growing up and it was one of my favorite bands before I developed a taste for classic rock and heavy metal. I may not listen to Green Day as much as I used to but I still think it's a great bandand I give it a listen every now and then.
But to understand the reasons why I chose this song today we must go back almost 20 years in time!
The year is 2004 and Green Day has just released American Idiot, the album that changed it all for me. Of course, as every teenager who was a Green Day fan, I ran to grab my copy but I had no idea what expected me.
Lyrics about protest whit some political influence was not exactly new to Green Day but American Idiot took that to a whole new level.
It wasn't just an album with great songs. No! It was an opera. It told a story and it was awesome! It was like every time I listened to the album, I picked up a different aspect of the story and a different part of the message that the band wanted to convey. It was different from anything they had done before and, I dare to say, anything they would ever do from that moment on!
American Idiot is still one of my favorite albums not just by Green Day, but of all times!
It was hard to pick one song from this album because they are all so great and I will definitely do others in the future but something kept making me coming back to Letterbomb. I don't know if it's that iconic intro ("Nobody likes you, everyone left you They're all out without you, having fun") or maybe what Billy Joe says on the bridge ("Where will all the martyrs go when the virus cures itself?") but I just think this song has a powerfull message, one that I wanted to help spread to the word.

The song was recorded with my custom shop Tele-style guitar, a Meteoro amp that has seen better days and a BOSS-OD20 pedal emulating a ProCo RAT, which was quite an unusual choice if I may say so because I don't think Green Day ever used anything rmeotely close to that. But what can I say? I tried, liked it so I used it!

I'm a big hard rock fan and the Scorpions have some great tunes in that genre. I'm learning this song to play with my band so I thought I'd share it here with my followers.
As you can tell, it's still far from done. The solo is sounding kinda crappy.. not sure if I'm hitting wrong notes or just getting the "feel" wrong but it surely needs improvement. The original track also has many other guitar licks that I didn't do because I'm still learning them.
I learn the song bit by bit and really the most important parts are the rythm and solo guitars so those were the priority here.
As usual, I recoreded this with my good old custom shopt Tele style guitar, a small meteoro amp and my Boss OD-20 emulating the Fulltone OCD distortion.

I've been posting some guitar covers for the last few weeks and some people approached me asking how I record them so I decided to record some videos showing my process.
The first video on this series is about how I create my backing tracks using Moises.ai, a very nice app that's easy to use.

I don´t do a lot of Zep covers, even though its my favorite band and the reason for that is because most of the songs are a lot of work to record!
They aren't exactly hard and I can play quite a few of them but as you may know, Jimmy Page and the Zep engineering team were real studio magicians so Zep songs are very intricate woth effects, overdubs, unusual instruments and whatnot.
That´s one of the reasons why I decided to go with Immigrant Song this time because despite being a great and powerful song, it is actualy very simple and straigthfroward.
I'm quite happy with this one because, while it wasn't my best guitar performance, I finally learned how to sync audio with video on my editing software. In all my other videos the audio was slightly behind the video and I think sometimes it looked like I wasn´t really playing. Well, I believe I was able to fix that this time!
As usual, I used my good old Custom Tele, a Meteoro Amp and a BOOS-OD-20 emulating a Tube Screamer.

I missed #teletuesday today due to lack of time but I decided to record a quick song anyway.
This time I chose "Interstate Love Song" by the Stone Temple Pilots. This song is rather simple and easy to play but it has some interesting time signatures and also a couple of very interesting - and dissonant! - chords.
All in all, it's a very fun one to play! I really like STP and will most likely bring other songs by them in the future.
For this, I used my loyal Custom Shop Tele, a small Meteoro amp and a BOSS OD-20 pedal emulating a Fulltone OCD, which is a great distortion!

Hello everyone!
It's time for another TeleTuesday and today I'm brining you yet another punk classic!
I lost count of how many times I've listened to this song when I was in my teens and to be perfectly honest I still do! It's a great tune and I love to play along to it.
As usual for Blink 182, not a complicated song but really well written. It has a nice catchy guitar riff that is repeated throughout the song, great dynamics and that signature bridge with some keyboard action! Can't go wrong with that!
For this one I used my custom shop Tele, a Meteoro amp and my trusty BOSS OD-20 to emulate a BOSS DS1. I don't really know what kind of effect Tom used on this track but I think the classic DS1 does the job very well.

It's been a while since I posted a guitar video and the reason is nothing but lack of time.
I've been very busy and tired lately and even though I love playing guitar, the thought of getting my gear ready, setting up my stuff for recording and actually practicing a song sounded like a lot of work.
But this week I finally decided to get back to my old routine and record a song from my favourite band! I'd love to say that this version is worthy of the almighty Led Zeppelin but the truth isthat it's not that great.
I did try my best but made a few mistakes during the song and the sound was not great either but when I was getting ready to record a take 2, my high E string broke and I didn't have any spare strings so I had to go with what I had.
Also, I only noticed after I mixed the tracks that the original guitar in the bluesy parts in the beginning and end of the song wasn´t removed from the backing track I used. Sorry about that! I think you can still hear my guitar over it though.
That being said, it is a nice song and I had a lot of fun recording it so I hope you forgive me for not bringing my best work this time!

Hello everyone
This TeleTuesday has a bit of a sad touch to it because of recent facts in the music world.
Last Satuday I woke up to the terrible news about the passing of Foo Fighter's drummer Taylor Hawkins. I obviously did not know him personally but he seemed like a nice guy and a lot of other musicians and artists who knew him said he was indeed a great person.
Foo Fighters was never an absolute favorite of mine but I still listened to and enjoyed many of their songs. I even had the chance to see them live on 2 ocasions and they were both great concerts.
Coincidentally, my favourite song by the Foo Fighters is "Cold day in the Sun", whish is sung by Taylor, and not Dave, so I thought it was a good song to pay my respect for this great drummer.
RIP Taylor!
For this one, I used my custom Tele and a Meteoro amp. Since this song is mostly played on acoustic, I didn't use any pedals. Just plugged straight into the amp.

Continuing my nostalgic spree, I decided to bring back this hit from the year 2000!
This is a very simple song but while I was listening to the isolated tracks on moises.ai I realized that it was very well produced! I think that is the tonic of most punk rock bands of that time: simple songs that were very well produced and tunred into memorable hits.
I'm still practicing adding multiple guitar tracks and for this one I recorded 3 different tracks that overlap for a brief period of time! They are all very simple but I feel like I'm making progress!
The only thing I didn't like about this performance is that there is a note that should be muted on that little solo thing that I didn't mute. It was barely audible "live" but I guess the microphone on my celphone captured it loud and clear. Well, I decided not to record it again becuase one day I want to look back to this video and notice how I improved sonce then!

Green Day is one of my favorite bands to play on guitar and this song was my absolute favor until they released their masterpiece American Idiot (I'm tlaking about the album, not the song).
This song as a cool riff and it brings me back some great memories of my teenage years so I decided to record this cover of it. It was also my very first time recording multiple guitar tracks and I'm actually satisfied with the final result. Editting the video was a bit easier than I thought, even though I know I still have to improve my editting skills.
As usual, I used my custom Tele type guitar, a Meteoro amp and a Boss OD-20 emulating a Boss DS1. I actually liked my tone better when I did "She" also by Green Day, but this wasn't too bad.

Hello everyone! A new week is upon us and it's already time for another Tele Tuesday! This one went by very quickly!
My dad is a massive Beatles fan and because of that I grew up to their tunes and ended up becoming a fan myself.
It had been a while since I played anything by the Beatles and I don't really know why I felt like playing something by them so I started listening to my Beatles playlist in search for some inspiration.
It didn't take long before Helter Skelter was on and I knew it had to be it! This is such a great song in my opinion! Some people say it's actually the first heavy metal song and while I won't get in that merit, it's a nice heavy tune.
For this one I used my custom Tele, a small Meteoro amp on the edge of breakup and a Boss OD-20 on the TubeSreamer setting. I don't really remember what kind of gear George Harrison used on this one but I liked the sound I got with that gear. I hope you also like it!

This week I was feeling very nostalgic so I decided to take on of my favorite songs from back when I was a teenager who had only recently picked up his first guitar.
"She" is quite a simple song structure-wise but in my opinion is a good practice for the right hand and for people who want o learn or improve their palm muting technique.
Even though this song was not originally recored on a Telecaster, I feel like I got a pretty good tone out of mine! I got this using my usual custom shop Tele style guitar, a small Meteoro amp and a BOSS OD-20 set up to emulate a BOSS DS1. I was going to use the TubeScreamer setting as I usually do but I really liked the result I achieved with the DS1!

Well, it's been a while since I did something for TeleTuesday! Between my day job and the business that I have recently started, time has been very scarce. I managed to hire some people to help me out so things should be a little less chaotic from now on.
But let's cut to the chase! This week I'm brining a classic song that I love: From out of nowhere by the great Faith No More!
It's quite a simple song and yet a great one! I love Mike Patton's vocals and this is one of his greatest performances in my opinion.
One thing interesting about this video is that I used moises.aito create the backing track. If you don't know moises.ai you should really check it out! I wrote an article about my first experiences with it and I think it's a really nice tool for musicians to have in their belts.
Gear-wise, nothing new: I used my loyal custom Tele, a cranked up Meteoro amp and a Boss OD-20 set as a TubeScreamer pushing the amp.
As you can probably notice, unfortunately the AI of moises.ai is not perfect and it removed the iconic keyboard track along with the guitar part when I created the backing track which is a pity because those keys really fill up the song but I'm still very happy with the result,

Well, life has been very busy to me and even though everything is fine (great actually!) I must admit I've been slacking off quite a lot on Hive lately.
My return has nothing to do with the recent mega pump and I'll try to make sure I'm back to being more consistent with my posts here on this great community!

Actually, the reason for this delay is because I had no power for 2 nights in a row here where I live, so I just couldn't upload the video before!
But anyway, I'm still practicing some songs that will play as a guest musician on Saturday and another one that I decided to share is Plush, by the Stone Temple Pilots.
It's a simple song, with no guitar solos or anything like that but it does have a very cool and iconic riff. The late Scott Weiland had a great voice too and this is one of he most memorable songs by Stone Temple Pilots!

Hello guitar lovers!
It's time for another weekly #TeleTuesday post!
I was invited to play a few songs as a guest musician on my dad's band later this month and one of the songs I'll do with them is Pearl Jam's first album hit "Black". I've been practicing this song a lot over the last few days and I decided I'd share one of my practice sessions here.
This is a simple song with no solos or tricky riffs but still a great work by the Seattle band! I love like it starts very softly and then evolves to a heavier tone in the chorus and Eddie Veder's amazing vocal skills are the cherry on the top!
This will be the very first time I step on a stage ever since the pandemic started so I'm really looking forward to it, even though it's not my own band. Hopefully I'll have good stories of the show to share here later!
I'm playing over this backing track and, as always, I'm using my lovely custom Tele guitar, a Meteoro amp and a BOSS OD-20 pedal. This time I decided to use the Fulltone OCD simulation on the OD-20 because that's a very versatile overdrive and I thought it sound nice on such a dynamic song.

Hello everyone! After a long-ish absence, I'm returning with my weekly #TeleTuesday post!
I was sick for the past couple of weeks and didn't feel like recording or posting much but I'm much better now so let's get the show back on the road!
I have a couple new projects that I hope to share here soon but, for today I'm bringing a good old rock n' roll jam!
I found this backing track on You Tube and I thought it would be really nice to jam with so I played around a little bit.
Not 100% satisfied with my technique but I'm actually happy with the sound!
As always, I used my loal custom Tele guitar, a Meteoro amp and a Boss OD-20 pedal, set to sound as a Tube Screamer. I just love this Tube Screamer setting where you set the amp on the edge of breakup, turn the Drive on the TS all the way down and crank up the volume!

It's time for another #TeleTuesday and this time I decided to do another improvisation practice session and for that I chose a cool blues rock backing track that I found on You Tube.
I wasn't really sure about this one right after I was done recording it but when I listened to it some time later I was pretty happy with the final result.
I still have a long way to go before returning to my old "shape" but I think I have already improved a bit since I got back to studying guitar.
For this one I used my trusty custom Tele guitar, a small Meteoro amp and my good old Boss OD-20 pedal set to Tube Screamer with very low gain.

With the advances of the vacciantaion program her ein Brazil, my band mates and I are feeling more comfortable to resume our band practices. We may even do a gig this year!
The problem with that is, after more than a year without actually practicing our setlist, we definitely forgotten how to play a few songs and so I've been learning them all over again.
That's the reason why I decided to share this song here on Tele Tuesday. We've been playing The Power of Love for a while now and it's always a great hit on our gigs. I don't know if it's the nostalgia effect associated with Back To The Future or if the song itself is just that good, but the fact is it always works!
As you can see, I'm a little rusty and, to make thinks worse, due to logistic reasons, my main pedalboard is at my dad's house, in another city so I was kinda lost trying to control the dynamics of the song in a way that I'm not used to. I think it's still decent and maybe another couple of days of practice will be enough for it to be ready to rock!
For this one, I used my custom Tele, a Meteoro amp and my Boss OD-20 on the Tube Screamer settings.

It's time for another Tele Tuesday and this week I come with a simple and yet awesome song by the Aussie band Midnight Oil.
Beds Are Burning is an instant classic! I used to play it with my band and it worked every single time! I don't know if it's the catchy chorus or that very iconic riff but everyone seems to love this song!
It's very straightforward: no solos or tricky bits but it's still very fun to play. I did the same "version" that I used to do when playing it with my band, which is slightly different from the original recording.
For this one I used my custom Tele, my Boss OD-20 on the Tube Screamer setting and a Meteoro amp.

Hello everyone! I can't believe it's already time for #teletuesday again! It seems this last week just flew by!
Led Zeppelin is my favorite band of all time and I really enjoy playing their songs.
Jimmy Page is a very unorthodox guitar player and because of that some of his stuff can be very difficult to play, if you want to get it 100% right. This is not really the case here as The Ocean is a pretty straightforward song. Still, it's a very nice one with a catchy riff and great groove!
The solo is not really hard but you gotta mind the tempo because it can be tricky at first.
For this one I used my custom Tele, a BOSS OD-20 emulating a Tube Screamer and a Meteoro Amp.

Hello everyone! It's time for another #teletuesday and I have some exciting news to share and also something to celebrate!
But let's do one thing at a time. First, Let's talk about the video:
I want it all (Queen) - Intro cover Two weeks ago I made a post about the band Queen for #musicmonday and that really made me want to listen to a lot of Queen for days straight.
I was short in time to record for this week's #teletuesdya so I started to thing about what could I do that would be short and not take too long. Almost immediatly, this great song came to mind!
I really like this intro. The voicing right at the start is very nice and then mr. May comes kicking with that short but still face-melting little solo!
It's really hard to nail that unique Brian May tone but I did the best I could with my loyal Tele, my Meteoro amp and my BOSS OD-20 set to sound like a Tube Screamer so I hope you enjoy it!
Celebration! Today, July 13th we celebrate the International Rock Day here in Brazil. Despite the "International" in the name of the date, I believe it's pretty much a brazilian thing only but feel free to celebrate the awesomeness of rock n' roll wherever you are! Let's spread the rock word!
Exciting news! Well, now that I think about it, this is probably not a lot exciting for anyone else but me, but I'll share it anyway! After almost a full year, I'm reheasing with my band again!
We stopped rehearsing about a year ago due to the pandemic and now that the vacciantion campaign here in Brazil is finally being effective, we feel safe enough to get together to rock and roll!
We only had one rehearsal session after the break and to be honest it was not great! We couldn't remember some of the songs and we were all a little rusty but it didn't matter one bit because we were all just so happy to be able to do that again!
I might share more stuff of my band inb the future, but that's it for today!

Jammins to some classic rock!
I'm still trying to improve my improvisation skills so I've been jamming a lot to some backingtracks that I find online.
I usually go for blues themes because I'm more used to them and I have a lot of freedom to experiment but this time I decided to try a classic rock tune.
I still need to work a bit on fluidity but I'm happy with the final result!

It's time for some more Tele Tuesday
Lately, I've been playing some heavier, distorted stuff but the other day I found this really nice backingtrack and I decided to play around with it.
I also decided to change the emulation on my Boss OD-20 for this. I was very used to emulate a Klon Centaur going through an amp on max overdrive, but this time I switched to a Tube Screamer emulation pushing an amp on the edge of breakup. God, how I love that sound!
I really had a great time improvising over this theme and I think I'm slowly getting good at it again. I have a lot of things I want to improve, but I believe consistency is the way to get there!
For this one I used my loyal custom Tele, the Boss OD-20 emulating a Tube Screamer, as described above and a Meteoro amp.

Last week I was exploring the heavy world of drop D tuning and this week, inspired by my #MusicMonday post from yesterday, I decided to continue exploring some low tunings by attempting this great song by Alice In Chains!
For this one, you'll want to tune all your strings half step back (Eb, Ab, Db, Gb, Bb, Eb) and use some high gain distortion. For the cleaner parts I mostly used dynamics and rolled back the volume a bit, but the distortion was on all the time.
This song is pretty straightforward except maybe for the outro, which has a tricky rhythm pattern that I totally did not nail, as you can see. Still, even if you don't do it exactly like Cantrell, it still sounds nice so don't worry too much about it.
As always, I used my trusty custom Tele, a Meteoro amp and a Boos OD-20 emulating a ProCo Rat.

I like to play around with alternative tunings from time to time and this weekend I decided to try some drop D songs.
Show me how to live quickly came to mind as a good song for the ocasion. It's not too complex technically speaking but sometimes it's hard to get the tempo right, as you can see from my many screw ups :P
The solo is also an odd one. Tom Morello is known for exploring diverse effects and the solo of this song relies heavily on it. I don't have my main pedalboard with me at the moment so I couldn't do much.
Anyway, it's a fun song to play along and a good introduction to Drop D tunning for those who want to try it out!
