Let's talk fashion! No matter where in the world you are, fashion and clothes are always around you (except maybe not on that nudist beach).
In the past few episodes, we've talked about some of the challenges living abroad brings - different languages, different food, but also different clothes (or in Angela's case, washing machines).
It's not just a question of what to wear (or not to wear) but also of what to bring and not to bring. After we've talked about packing up and moving home in our first episode, we are now talking about the struggles of bringing the right clothes to your new home.
So listen to us talk about all the issues fashion and clothes bring, but also the difference between the US, UK, Norway, and Switzerland.

After we talked about how to make friends in our last episode, we felt like it was necessary to talk about how to maintain those friendships. Because let's be honest making friends is easy (especially if you listened to our last episode), but what's hard is to keep those friendships.
Although we both consider ourselves quite extroverted and social, we are self-admittedly very bad at staying in touch. Listen to us talking about the struggles that come with leaving your friends and family at home. But also what it means to make friends that eventually will live in another country.
We also tried to include some tips we got from friends who are more competent in this area.

In this episode, we are talking about a topic close to our heart. In fact, we would not be here today without it - it is all about making friends abroad.
We address the challenges some people face while making friends and the differences in cultures when it comes to friendship.
Listen to us talk about our past experiences from our study abroad and funny stories about how we made friends! We also will be sharing some tips on how to make friends, because we know this can be a struggle.
Fun fact: This episode will be uploaded exactly one year after Veronika and Angela became good friends.

The holidays are on the way! Get ready for Christmas songs, presents, cookies, and hot chocolate (or in Veronika’s case - mulled wine). But the holidays are not always as cheerful and bright for everyone. Especially for international students being away from home during that time can sometimes mean one thing - feeling homesick.
In this episode, we are talking all things about how we’ve experienced the Christmas period abroad, when we have felt homesick and how to deal with it.
Also, keep listening to the end for a little holiday special and find out why Veronika does not like hot chocolate and with what Christmas song choice Angela is making herself unpopular.

In our second episode, we discuss once again Corona-concerns. This time it’s all about working or studying from home during this difficult time. Both of us moved home (if you want to know more about how that went, listen to the first episode) but still had a degree to finish.
Listen to us talk about the challenges international students and students, in general, have to deal with when being faced with a worldwide pandemic. As two recent graduates, Angela and Veronika have made their own experiences of what it means writing assignments and a dissertation while being stuck at home with your family. We dealt with bad Wi-Fi, no proper desks, social isolation, the struggle to find motivation, and much more.

In our very first episode, we felt like we needed to address the (invisible) elephant in the room. Coronavirus.
We talked about our stressful last days in England, what it was like leaving our homes abroad and how Coronavirus has affected not only us but is currently a big issue for international students all over the world.

Hi, we are Veronika and Angela. We met pre-covid in the UK as international students. Prior to that both of us already lived abroad. Veronika learned how "belle la vie" in French is and Angela got a taste of the American dream (not really but it sounds great). This short introduction will hopefully make you longing for more. So stay tuned!
