So often, as Christians we make financial decisions without consulting the Lord and pray later, asking God to bless “our decisions”. When we make financial decisions on our own, we will usually miss out on God’s blessings.
Jordan could not understand why God allowed this to happen because he believed that he had “stepped out in faith”.
In respect to managing finances, if you have God’s peace then you are likely in God’s will. But if you do not have God’s peace then you should prayerfully ask God to reveal his will to you.
Prayerfully ask God to direct you in making financial decisions by “opening and closing” the appropriate “doors”.
In order to discern God’s will in managing money, habitually acknowledge in your heart and mind that you are a steward of God’s resources, and follow God’s will, not your will.
God can provide specific direction in many ways - through prayer, his Word, or from the counsel of a godly financial advisor.
Habitually meditate on God’s word in the area finances, in order to develop a “godly mindset” with respect to money and material things.
If you want to be a faithful steward, you must study and implement God’s Word on finances.
Spend quality time with the Lord in prayer, sensing God’s specific will in managing God’s money.
The Bible provides “financial guidelines” within which we must we operate. However, sometimes, there are several options within those guidelines.
Overcome the sinful nature by deliberately and prayerfully allowing God, through his Spirit, to control your mind
