On this episode of the Wealth and Wisdom Together™ podcast, we are on week three of our series on your STEWARD Identity™. Today, we are highlighting and expanding on the meaning of the “E” in the STEWARD acronym, which stands for “Earnestly Seeking God”. Can you say that you earnestly seek God in all your decisions? We can now, but that was not always the case. As we have shared before, some of our earlier decisions, financial and those that were not financial, were not always made with God in the forefront. Sometimes, our decisions were made just by thinking about ourselves and what we wanted.
We discovered that this habit kept us struggling and trapped in a scarcity mindset. We felt like we were working hard but didn’t see the results we desired; it was disheartening. If you have ever felt that way, this conversation will enlighten you on the importance of earnestly seeking God's guidance in all you do.
When we realized the importance of seeking God and aligning our faith with our finances, we experienced a shift in our mindset, our decision-making, and our lives. We saw God’s guidance provide a sense of peace, rest, and fulfillment in all areas of our lives. Now we want the same for you.
It’s your time to recognize and eliminate the scarcity mindset that can rule our decision-making and replace it with a mindset established from earnestly seeking God in managing your resources.

Have you ever been on top of your game, getting it all done, but later realized something was amiss? Did you make adjustments and keep moving?
That’s what we’ve done. We have pivoted in our work and are moving forward. We’ve spent several years preparing to be financial coaches empowering those we serve to enjoy life, manage their money and build a legacy. But as faith-based coaches, we have realized that many don’t connect good stewardship practices with their desire to live an abundant life.
2 Timothy 4:2 tells us to “Preach in the full expression of the Holy Spirit - with wisdom and patience as you instruct and teach the people.” And so we pivot in accordance to this passage to instruct and teach the Stewardship Message with wisdom and patience to the Body.

How do you define abundant living?
“Abundant living means living life on your own means. Whatever your vision of success is, that’s what you’ll follow and be aligned with, not necessarily listening to society’s standard of what success is. If you’re living a life where you’re doing what you’re aligned with and what to you means success, then you are living an abundant life. ” - Mabel Nunez

How often do you look at something and immediately dismiss it?
As Wealth Partners, when we use phrases like, “That's not me” or “I don’t do that,” we limit our thinking and prevent ourselves from embracing new opportunities. Whether we unintentionally pass up great love, a fulfilling career, and even monetary blessings, limiting beliefs have the power to derail us from our living in abundance.
This week on The Abundant Living Podcast, we are unpacking what it truly means to live abundantly. We all have opportunities all around us and just because something may not be in alignment with who we were, doesn’t mean it won't help us evolve into who we want to become.
Even if it may not look the way you imagined, don't turn away from the blessings God has put in place. Renew your mind to be able to see God’s hand in everything, and remember that God’s Will, not our will, is the only path to an abundant life.
Let’s Embrace Abundant Living:
2:45 - Embrace New Opportunities
8:00 - Broaden Your Thinking
13:00 - Be Intentional About Accepting Yourself
19:00 - Express Your Inner Brightness
22:13 - Let Go Of Limiting Thinking
27:10 - Don’t Tell Me, Show Me
Abundant Living: Embracing New Opportunities Takeaways * “Self-care is so important.” - Weslia Echols * “Keep your mind focused on the provision that God has made for you.” - Willa Williams * “Embracing new opportunities is key to an abundant life.” - Weslia Echols * “Push past the dollar amount that you put on yourself.” - Willa Williams * “I want to present myself outwardly, as good as I feel inwardly.” - Weslia Echols * “I love who I am, I love the space that I’m in, therefore I am going to present that wherever I go.” - Weslia Echols * “You can make a change in your life and it can be good for you.” - Willa Williams * “We all have opportunities all around us.” - Weslia Echols * “Get beyond telling people what you’re going to do and get to the point where you intentionally show people what you’re going to do, what you’re about, and who you are.” - Weslia Echols * “The abundant life that God has for us never changes. We just have to show up and live in it.” - Willa Williams

Negative self-talk can creep in and impact our lives in more ways than we can ever imagine and without us realizing it. It can cause us to become our own worst enemy. But when we recognize it, we can change the negative self-talk to a more positive, encouraging, and motivating message to ourselves. This was a real reality for us at TFC when we were beginning to launch The Abundant Living Podcast.
We looked at the time, effort, and skills needed to be successful and doubted if we were really prepared or should move forward in the midst of all the things going on last year during the pandemic. We were challenged with the same things many faces every day. The negativity surrounding COVID-19, caring for aging parents, helping kids graduate college, building our business, and all this in the midst of establishing new households after moving to our dream homes.
Nevertheless!!!! We got clarity and recognized that we had begun to listen to the roar of the enemy and not the still small voice of our Father. So here we are today, we just celebrated the one-year anniversary of The Abundant Living Podcast. We heard God, trusted Him and He got it all done through us. Our self-talk went from doubting to encouraging and when it did our eyes and hearts opened to the reality of what God was doing and we overcame all negative self-talk.

There is an underlying foundation for success that aligns with HARD WORK and this develops your work habits and your work ethic. But have you ever stopped to identify what drives work ethic to morph into hustle & grind, burnout, or even breakdown? Today we talked with Lindsay Rae Perry about the journey from the hustling and grinding to being the CEO of your LIFE. Lindsay Rae Perry is an award-winning CEO, serial entrepreneur, with over a decade of experience in strategic marketing, messaging and cloud-business consulting and is mastering the art of building multiple businesses holistically without compromising her values, worth, and integrity by partnering with multiple global brands such as Google, AT&T, HubSpot, and RingCentral just to name a few. This isn’t how her journey began, at one point, the pressures of being a black woman entrepreneur in corporate America, plus high-functioning anxiety, were driving Lindsay’s personal life and career into the ground. The combination of depression, anxiety, a deep-rooted sense of unworthiness, and the constant hustle-and-grind lifestyle, led to a nervous breakdown that landed Lindsay in the hospital. It was in this darkness that she remembered her true purpose: to be a pioneer in helping women leaders to heal our stories of unworthiness while building sustainable lives and businesses without compromise. With her “God first” philosophy and strategic expertise, as CEO of the LRP Agency, Her vision is to be a vessel of transformational consulting and mentorship for women-owned women entrepreneurs and corporate leaders to find freedom in building a sustainable life and business. In this episode of The Abundant Living Podcast, our conversation includes:

Therefore, our goal for you is to seek God in all you do as you follow His Word to manage money confidently, live life purposefully, and build wealth intentionally.
You probably already know, deep down, the basics of being financially successful. Work hard, save, invest, spend wisely, and don’t take your eye off the ball. But this doesn’t have to mean you have to live a penny-pinching life with no treats. You can live a happy, fulfilled life and still be financially responsible. And the secret is to embrace frugality.
We’ve experienced frugality in seasons. These seasons of frugality have been opportunities to build, grow and reach goals that we set for ourselves. Chosen times when we intentionally changed our spending to help us reconcile where we were to where we wanted to go. They were ultimately seasons of positivity and growth.
In this episode, we are discussing the value of intentionally making adjustments to spending habits to reach our goals.

If you are a confident independent thinker, you usually make your own choices in life. It wouldn’t be all that surprising to discover you prefer to figure out things for yourself. And because you’re so self-assured, you might not like to ask for help, even if it’s necessary.
There are times when we all can benefit from accepting a hand from someone else. And not only that, when you ask for assistance, other people also stand to benefit in ways you might not have considered.
In this episode we discuss 3 good reasons why you should ask for HELP:

The goal of investing goes beyond being diligent to accumulate funds through regular savings. Saving is a wise course of action to elevate your net worth, however building real wealth needs an additional consideration – earning a good rate of return on your money. This involves putting the funds to use through ownership or lending in ways that generate even more money. That is the major distinction between saving and investing. In today’s episode, we are talking about Readiness for Investing.

In this episode of The Abundant Living Podcast, we're talking about "Money Mindset and Money Tendencies" as we unpack how to recognize and eliminate an unhealthy money mindset.
It's a transformation that begins with recognizing the source of our money behaviors. How we manage money can come from what we learned when we were young during our early formative years. These lessons can run deep in the make-up of who we are and can negatively impact our financial foundation if not addressed. We discuss:

What comes to mind when you think about “legacy”? Do you think about inheriting something? Or leaving something for someone as an inheritance? Or do you not think about “legacy” because you feel that you don’t have anything of value to give anyone? Well, recent statistics reveal that over 70% of Black Families do not have estate plans in place which indicates that they may not be positioned to leave a legacy for their families.
These are necessary documents that can allow the smooth passing of assets from one generation or person to another. Establishing an estate plan can resolve problems with asset distribution but it also provides other protections which we utilize while living including wills, trusts, medical directives, power of attorneys, and more. These protections are critical and are readily available from a reputable estate planning attorney.
To provide insight on the importance of estate planning our guest on this episode is Ifeoma (Iffy) Ibekwe, Esq. an estate planning attorney, Founder, and Principal Attorney at Ibekwe Law, PLLC in Austin, Texas. Iffy is an evangelist for inter-generational wealth transfer who activates intentional women so they can build impactful legacies. We invite you to join us as we discuss:

Have you tried to navigate the various eating plans out there? Yes, we have too and found many confusing, restrictive, faddish, and not sustainable. Some are definitely not designed to meet the nutritional needs of the customer. But don’t fret, there is help! In our Breakthrough Series of the fivefold areas of life (financial, mental, physical, social, and spiritual), we are highlighting things that impact the way you live and their effect on your ability to live in the abundance of God. Each of these five areas on its own can enhance or hinder your enjoyment of life, so in this episode, we will be discussing our physical bodies. Unhealthy eating can lead to poor health, which can cause unplanned expenses like doctor visits, prescriptions, and other medical bills. However, having a mindset for healthy eating can prevent those expenses. Joining our conversation today is Jasmine Westbrooks, Registered Dietitian and Nutritionist and author of “Eating Mindfully & Losing Weight.” She will show us a realistic approach to improving nutritional habits that yield sustainable and healthy eating for a better quality of life. Have you ever had to do a reset in your life? I mean, a total control-alt-delete? For us, typically, a reset means “What does God have to say about this,” or how does this align with the will or the word of God. This even applies to finances.
Why is that? Because God knows that our attitude toward money is an indication of where our heart is with God. We will either follow after gold or God, and we cannot serve two masters. So we will either turn to our wallets or our worship when we look to the source of our security. But we have to remember: Money is a resource, not your Source.
In this episode, we have a candid discussion about:

Do you rest after a hard day of work or after a day full of tiring tasks? Do you schedule personal or private time with yourself? Just you, so that you can chill and rejuvenate to be ready for the next thing on your list? What about leisure time? What does leisure time mean to you? Do you treat yourself to your favorite activity free of guilt, appreciating the pleasure it brings you? If you don’t, you should. We all need to practice self-care and schedule leisure time to take on the responsibilities we face each day successfully. We have the perfect model of doing so. Genesis 2:1-3 tells us that God finished His work in creation then He rested. He took the time to chill, appreciated what he created, and ready Himself for what was coming next. We need to learn to do the same, so we can enjoy the abundance of God while living healthy, productive, and stress-free lives.

This is the special time of the year when we celebrate our earthly fathers and honor them for loving, covering, protecting and providing for us. This is not only what we receive from our earthly father but also from God The Father. He is our ultimate creator and provider. At times our earthly fathers may err in their ways but never God the Father so we must always honor Him whole heartedly.
God The Father blessed our earthly fathers to bring us into this world and with that came a charge to care for, love and provide for us. That does not always happen and can result in bad relationships between us and our fathers. So bad that it can impact our relationship with God. But because God is perfect in His ways we cannot allow what our earthly fathers do, who are subject to err, cause us to move away from our closeness to God.
We invite you to listen to this week's episode, “Letters From The Father Part 1” and experience how this dynamic can occur and what we must do to reconcile ourselves with God. I share my experience with this and discuss how God helped me to right my errors. Listen and be assured that He can help you also. We will discuss:

We believe in living abundantly in Christ and not allowing money to pull your focus from the gracious God who gives us all the ability to produce wealth. Now that you know your vision of wealth and who you want to be, don’t be deterred by others. Stay the course!
Habakkuk 2:2-3
“ Write the vision make it plain on tablets, that he may run who reads it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time; But at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; Because it will surely come, it will not tarry. (NKJV)
And then God answered: “Write this. Write what you see. Write it out in big block letters so that it can be read on the run. This vision-message is a witness pointing to what’s coming. It aches for the coming—it can hardly wait! And it doesn’t lie. If it seems slow in coming, wait. It’s on its way. It will come right on time. (MSG)
The vision that I have for myself is ordained of God. He has given me clarity, my goals are set and I am moving forward. I will not let those who don’t see it for me deter me.
This can be your personal view toward your vision for yourself. Everyone will not always see things the way you do. They are not looking through the lenses you are so they may not see what you see. On this episode we are discussing how to develop and stay strong as you carry out your personal vision from God.
This conservation will help strengthen your resolve to stay the course on your vision of financial transformation. We will discuss:

Amy took us through her journey of paying off $142,500 in debt from the point of recognizing that something needed to be done through the payoff process. Then she went on to share the peace of mind she is experiencing today as she realizes that her money decisions are working in her best interest.

Have you ever felt like this?
"You have planted much, but harvested little. You eat, but never have enough. You drink, but never have your fill. You put on clothes, but are not warm. You earn wages, only to put them in a purse with holes in it.” Haggai 1:6
In many respects, we can be our own worst enemies in our quest for financial success.

Bye for now and remember to manage your money confidently, love life and live abundantly!
When thinking about the lessons my Mom taught me as a child I am reminded of Proverbs 31. Yes, she is a virtuous woman, but I specifically remember the passage which said “she watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness (Proverbs 31:27 NIV). Her goal for her children was to teach how to manage household finances and prepare them for a prosperous future. We share that goal in this episode as we will talk about the lessons we learned.

What Mom said about:
Saving and putting money away for emergencies
Making sure there was plenty for the family, I didn’t know I was considered poor
Shopping without going into debt, lay-a-away
Credit Cards, yes with proper use
Dealing with creditors when you don’t seem to have enough

What do you think about when you hear the words “will”, “power of attorney”, or “estate planning”? Does it make you think of death, finality or do you think of legacy, influence and impact? Proverbs 13:22 says that “A good man leaves an inheritance to his children’s children”. This is our goal and we want to prepare ourselves so today we will talk about estate planning and dispel some of the myths associated with it.

A WORD FROM WESLIA and WILLA:
We believe that your values and goals help to properly align your needs, wants and desires, meaning that the purpose of managing your money and the purpose of wanting to have financial success must include or encompass more than just building or accumulating financial wealth. You must incorporate the things you value in your life while doing so because you can get to a point where you are working, saving, investing, and ultimately reach a point of achievement and realize that you have not done any of the other things that you value in life.

Have your ever had to do a reset in your life? I mean a total control-alt-delete? For us, typically a reset means “What does God have to say about this” or how does this align with the will or the word of God. This even applies to finances.
Why is that? Because God knows that our attitude toward money is an indication of where our heart is with God. We will either follow after gold or God and we cannot serve two masters. We will either turn to our wallet or our worship when we look to the source of our security. But we have to remember: Money is to be a resource, but it is not to be My Source.
Weslia and Willa have a candid discussion on these topics:

Welcome to the Abundant Living Podcast, where we have conversations dedicated to faith, finances and living the fulfilled life you were designed for. We are your hosts, Weslia Echols and Willa Williams, Accredited Financial Counselors®, and your trusted financial coaches here to guide you through financial transformation. Why is it a transformation? Because the process from being uncertain about our financial future to confidently turning our cashflow to wealth has indeed been transformational; spiritually, mentally, socially, and physically.
We have been leading and teaching about the importance of financial stewardship for 20 years, helping high achieving professional women overcome money insecurities with a four-phase blueprint to confidently transform their cashflow to wealth while living abundantly.
Phase 1: Experiencing financial breakthrough
Phase 2: Establishing a financial foundation
Phase 3: Building assets for financial elevation
Phase 4: Creating legacy through expansion.
This is the blueprint that produced a real change for us and you will learn more about it in this podcast. As professional women of faith, we know what it feels like to be insecure, stressed out and uncertain about money. And we know how the enemy will use your financial situation as a foothold to come in to steal, kill and destroy your faith, joy and peace.
Maybe you are starting to make money moves necessary to build wealth, or maybe you’ve already begun the process and have had a few disruptions and detours on the journey, rest assured that you can still live a fulfilled life even as you get your financial house in order.
John 10:10 says “the thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life and have it in abundance.”
Every week we will be here, sometimes with friends and guests to inspire and encourage you to confidently transform your cashflow to wealth while living abundantly. Our conversations will also incorporate some of the intangible things you may not realize are important and impacting your financial transformation...like confidence, self-care, health, relationships and most importantly, faith. We are on this journey together, so we encourage you to be a part of the conversation.
