Media Law expert, Hayleigh Bosher discusses intellectual property rights and breaks down your rights as a musician. Hayleigh is a Media Law expert, as well as a lecturer at Brunel. She is the author of the book "Copyright in the Music Industry" which she promotes through her podcast "Who´s Song Is it Anyway" alongside her co-host Jules O´Riordan.
In our final episode of Season 1, we turn our attention to the subject of iconic works. What makes a piece of music, writing, photography, or cinema iconic? Who, if anyone, is to say? How do we recognise when something achieves this status? And, how likely is anything to become iconic in our ever-expanding information ecology?
In this third episode of Brunel Waves, we are discussing an omnipresent theme in the arts and current affairs; the Seasons. Be it our perianal concerns regarding climate change, or the deep symbolic meaning found in great works such as Shakespeare’s A Winter’s Tale or Vivaldi’s Four Seasons.
In this second instalment of Brunel Waves, we consider how our mental health intersects with the arts and current affairs. This is of course a very timely subject as the current pandemic and subsequent social distancing measures have had profound effects on everyone’s well-being. We felt it may be useful to discuss the role art has in making sense of our lives and nurturing our mental health.
