This episode features an interview with Shyam Patel.
Shyam is currently a Master’s of Arts Education student at the University of Ottawa. A few years prior to that, he worked as a fellow with Teach for India from 2014-2017. During his Fellowship, he taught two grades in the same classroom as the school he was placed in an experienced teacher shortage. He now finds himself, after three years away from Ahmedabad, working with his students as a tutor. In his spare time, he enjoys reading and watching anime.

Pallavi has been an educator by choice and has done phenomenal work in the past with government schools and the parent community. Currently, she works as an elementary school teacher at Red Bricks School in Ahmedabad where she teaches Grade 1 students. She shares her experiences of adapting to the pandemic as a teacher while managing responsibilities as a mother to a two-year-old.

Uday is a second year teacher who teaches in an affordable private school in the Old City Area of Hyderabad. The school is in the heart of a community that is effected by multiple challenges with respect to resources. Uday along with the other teachers in school has actively been working on addressing each of these challenges for the last one year as a full-time teaching Fellow in the school. He talks about his key learnings navigating through the uncertainty of COVID-19 and how he views this entire phenomenon as a ripple effect
