These figures of speech and cultural differences can indeed make Bible study difficult. II Timothy 2:15 is the only verse in the entire Bible that tells us how to study it. Many modern translations will use a corruption from the Latin Vulgate rather than the original Greek because the Greek leaves no room for most denominational views. It clearly teaches the idea of correctly or rightly dividing the Word of Truth. When we allow this verse to speak it allows no other approach to Bible study than a dispensational approach. This approach allows the student to take words for what they mean and to have answers that make sense without having to allegorize everything. Do not forget to give us a like and leave your comments!

This Differing Things will really challenge your preconceptions!

Paul's distrust of human centered ethics stems from his understanding of the human condition. This is the subject of today's Differing Things!

Confusion about the Apostle Paul, and his ministry causes error throughout churches today. The result is mixing of Israel's prophetic kingdom program with the Body of Christ's secret grace program and thus destroying both. We need to ask ourselves "Why Paul." The answer will clear up the confusion, and allow for effective Bible study that allows us to understand what God is doing today in the Dispensation of Grace!
Covenant Theology is the dominant theological system of most mainline Protestant churches and maintains that God has replaced the Jewish people with the church. Based on two or three "covenants" that are found nowhere in Scripture, it claims that Christians are now God's chosen people and that the Jewish people have no claim to the land of Israel. When examining this theology, what matters most is if it can stand when tested by Scripture. It cannot!
We hear the words covenant and testament frequently in Bible study. Most of us think these words are interchangeable, but this episode of Differing Things submits they are different. Are we "able ministers of the new covenant" or are we "able ministers of the New Testament?"
The Israel-Palestine conflict, a century-old struggle over a tiny but historically significant region, remains steeped in religion, politics, and shifting borders. Covering Biblical times, Ottoman rule, British occupation, Arab-Israeli wars, and decades of conflict, the ever fluid boundaries of Israel reflect the shifting tides of power politics in the Middle East. Is all this a fulfillment of Bible prophecy?
We have all heard the phrase, "You must be born again." What exactly does this mean? Are all Christians born again? Why does Jesus say he is talking about "earthly things," and not "celestial things" in John chapter 3? Is Israel's regeneration different than the Body of Christ's?

Are men born sinners? Did we come out of the womb with a sin nature, making us only capable of sinning? What is Gnosticism, and how is it taught in churches throughout the world today? Many Christians today are inadvertently teaching Gnosticism by failing to understand some of its core tenents. How did Gnosticism creep into the church? Today's Differing Things Podcast looks at these questions. Please do not forget to give us a like, and please follow us so you never miss an episode of Differing Things!
The idea Christians should be paying attention to the natural world has been around for centuries. Augustine of Hippo, born in 354 AD, for example, wrote of two ways to learn about God: (1) through Scripture and (2) through nature. This focus on nature is not often emphasized in modern American Christianity. Christians should still care about the natural world we live in. What do the Scriptures teach about our ecological systems?
Our Host Bill Petri interviews Biblical Scholar Dan Sheridan about salvation. How does religion line up to what God says about this topic?
Are men born sinners? Our answer to this question will affect our attitude toward sin and will ultimately affect our conduct as well. If an individual believes he is born with a sinful nature and sins unavoidably because of that nature, he is not likely to view his sins the same way a woman who denies a sinful nature would. Christianity has taught for centuries our flesh is sinful -- but what if they are wrong?
Many falsely believe human trafficking is a modern-day problem. However, this issue has been around since Biblical times. The narrative of human trafficking began with the story of Joseph in the Old Testament book of Genesis. The expansion of the world's population allowed the trafficking of people to impact every country on this planet negatively. What do the Scriptures have to say about this very current problem?

Wealth is created through the medium of work. The institution of productive labor was established by one of the first commands given by the Creator God immediately after the creative act and before man sinned. Gen.2:15 shows that through man's productive industry, God shared responsibility for the earth with man. Thus, economics was born! How did it work? What changed after Adam's sin?
Since the advent of the internet, we have been constantly flooded with information. How are we suppose to process it all? Believe it or not this has happened once before in human history. The answer then was common placing. What is common placing? Is it a good idea to use common placing to form our own personal belief system?
The Apostle Paul writes to the church in Rome; "For I long to see you, that I may impart unto you some spiritual gift, to the end you may be established; That is, that I may be comforted together with you by the mutual faith both of you and me." What gift is this that Paul wished to impart? How was this gift given? Is it still in effect?
Differing Things is a podcast which focuses on far religion and society have deviated from the Bible. It is easy for us to see deviation when we look at society, but sometimes it is difficult for us to see these deviations when it comes to religion. It is difficult because most of us have a conditioned bias to a certain way of thinking. Today's Differing Things will challenge those biases by looking at the very misunderstood doctrine of Water Baptism!
Humankinds potential for self-destruction through the lusts of the flesh appears to be limitless. Communication is critical for individuals to share and express important ideas. Unfortunatly, our communication is often lacking the necessary precision creating confusion in the hearer. This confusion typically results in rejection of some very important Bible truths. One such truth is the Dispensation of the Grace of God. Should not our language be precise to ensure great communication of the truth?
What has been called the "Gap Theory" was a popular and consistent explanation of the first chapter of Genesis among Christians up through the mid 1900s. With the rise of Young Earth Creationism, the Gap understanding was simply pushed to the background and ridiculed as a past effort to satisfy the claims of modern evolutionary science. In effect the new teachers buried this doctrine with the debris of Noah's flood deposits. What does the Bible really teach about a Gap? Does a Gap have any basis in Bible Doctrine?
It seems like every time we read a newspaper, or watch a news source we see evidence of declining morality. The western world is quickly becoming immoral, and it seems like there is no way for it to ever recover. What do the Scriptures have to say about declining morality in the Western world? What is the answer to this problem?
There is a great deal of confusion in the Church – the Body of Christ regarding the Sabbath. Questions that must be asked include: What should the Christian position be regarding the 4th Commandment? Should the Christian observe the Sabbath? Should the Sabbath be on Sunday or Saturday? How should the Sabbath be observed in practice? Is Saturday the Jewish Sabbath and Sunday the Christian Sabbath?

Many of us are familiar with the account of Jesus so-called "triumphal entry" into Jerusalem. One of the few stories told by all four gospels. But was it the simple, humble donkey ride into the city that it is often portrayed to be. Or was it specifically designed to be much more: a pre-arranged, coronation ceremony orchestrated by Jesus to portray Himself as the promised king of Israel in fulfillment of both royal and prophetic tradition? Please remember to give us a like, and leave your comments, better yet why not follow us.

Over the course of time words can and frequently do change meaning. These changes are proof that language itself is always changing from one generation to the next. These differences often time produce a communication gap between different generations. We can say the same thing regarding our English language Bible. As the English language changes the meaning of the words in our Scriptures is changed. This begs the question, “Is Bible Revision wrong?”

What is wisdom? We cannot behave as wise people if we do not know what wisdom is. The apostle Paul tells us that we can be addressed as somebody who is wise. "Walk," he says, "not as fools but as wise; because you are wise, act as wise people." He tells us how this wisdom which is in us reveals itself; or we could say, we see the results to which this wisdom leads. It means that we have vision and can see the result of our actions. The Bible fundamentally says that the man who is not a child of God and who is not a Believer is ultimately a fool. "The fool has said in his heart that there is no God." The Christian life is the only sane life, according to the inspired written word of God. Today’s Differing Things looks at how the West is becoming the ultimate fool! Make sure to give us a like, and leave your comments!

It was at Babylon where people sought to “make a name for themselves” by building a tower that reached to the heavens, the realm of the gods with a small g. Deuteronomy 32:8-9 describes how Yahewh’s dispersal of the nations at Babel resulted in His disinheriting those nations as His people. This is the Old Testament equivalent of Romans 1:18-25, a familiar passage wherein God gave humankind over to their persistent rebellion. The implications of this decision and this passage are crucial to understanding much of what is in the Old Testament, and Israel’s calling.
