One of us is Board: Recent Episodes

Sam and Calum

Welcome to One of us is Board, a professionally unprofessional film podcast where two film graduates prove that a degree doesn't equate to knowing what the hell you're talking about when it comes to the movies. Why not join us and let us know what we got wrong! (All complaints to Calum please, he'd love to hear them)

American Psycho (2000) is the last film in our unlikeable protagonists month! We may have jumped the shark with this one. How? Well, no sh*t Sherlock is a serial killer a little bit unlikeable. This particular potential serial killer is especially heinous, so it almost feels a little unfair to compare poor little Danni Sanders to him. Norman Bates does segue us nicely into Halloween month though.

Ruby Sparks (2012) is up next on our Unlikeable Protagonists Month and wow is the guy in this unlikeable. Consent issues aside, the biggest crime he commits against humanity is being a terrible author. How dare you make us listen to terrible prose. We shall not stand for this. We have a lot of fun chats about men written by women and women written by men in this one, so you're in for a treat.

Not Okay (2022) kicks off our unlikeable protagonist month and the beginning of our comeback tour! Did you miss us? We missed you! We decided to ease ourselves back in by watching films in which we are encouraged to judge people harshly. Not that we need encouragement to do that. Bonus fun factor, we also get to rate this film in terms of O'Briens! A winner of an episode all around!

In From The Side (2022) wraps up our sad bullshit month, otherwise known as 'Not Like Other Movies' month. We're finishing strong and clueless, as we know very little about the moshpit sports ball. However, we do know a little something or two about Henrys. You're even getting a longer episode so we can properly whinge about him.

There won't be an episode next week as we're off on our usual Summer break. Fear not as we will be back in August with our Unlikeable Protagonist Month!

The Breakfast Club (1985) is next in our 'Not Like Other Movies' month. We're going to conveniently drop the Sad Bullshit thing for a week because this isn't all that sad. This is one of those films that everyone has seen (apart from Sam), so you'll probably hate what we have to say (it's not bad). Tag yourself, I'm the flare gun that went off in the locker.

The Selfish Giant (2013) is up next in our 'Not Like Other Movies' month, more fondly known as 'Sad Bullshit' month. This film fits the theme perfectly! You may have guessed by the title that it's based on the Oscar Wilde short story, and it kind of is if you squint and spin around a bit. Or not. If someone would like to explain how it's related we'd be happy to hear it.

It's Calum's birthday month which means we get a brand new theme picked by him! A Ghost Story (2017) kicks off our 'I'm Not Like Other Movies' month, otherwise known as 'Sad Bullshit' Month. That's right dear listener, most of the films are going to be depressing hipster movies. Are you hyped to have an existential crisis with us? If so, you're in luck! Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (2008) is the last film in our unnecessary sequel to the unnecessary sequel month and it is possible that we may have been led astray by the internet again. Why did you mean-spirited meanies tell us this film was bad? Why did we listen? The whole joke of this month was for this film and it relied upon it being an unnecessary sequel. Alas. And yes, we are mostly fine with THAT opening scene.

Toy Story 4 (2019) kicks off the unnecessary sequel to the unnecessary sequel month, where we will be watching unnecessary sequels to necessary sequels. The concept is a little confusing so we thought we'd start easy. For example, Toy Story 2 (1999) is one of the best sequels of all time. Toy Story 3 (2010) gets away with it because of nostalgia. However, did we need another movie after that? We'll let you be the judge.

Sharkboy and Lavagirl (2005), otherwise known as The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl in 3-D (2005), is the last film in our Childhood Fever Dream Month II: The Siblings Strike Back. You guessed it, this week we discussed Y tu mamá también (2001) otherwise known as And Your Mother Too (2001). While the obvious happens, this film has a lot of additional depth (lol). So, we get really deep in our discussions. Why don't you get deep with us? We'd love to hear your thoughts if you've watched this film. You'll probably be more eloquent than us awkwardly fumbling around discussing awkward fumbling.

It's a new month and you know what that means? It's time for a brand new theme. June is the month in which we celebrate the birth of Calum, so he gets to take the wheel. He's decided to get fancy and do a world cinema month. During the next four weeks, we shall be visiting four different countries. We start off with South Korea as we watch Poetry (2010), directed by Lee Chang-dong. Basically, we watch as a lovely old lady, Yoon Jeong-hee's Mija, suffers in many ways. We're not sure what it says about Calum that he discussed this to celebrate his birthday, but it certainly says something. All good things come to an end, including Video Game Month. We wrap it all up by watching Detective Pikachu (2019). It's also a bit of a continuation of Pokémon Month, as it is now officially our favourite Pokémon movie. It does, however, feature some really ugly renditions of the Pokémon you know and love. Also, like with all Pokémon movies, Mewtwo is central to the plot. For an overpowered Pokémon, he sure does get captured a lot. Hilariously, Rita Ora is part of the team that keeps him hostage, which is doubly embarrassing on his part.

Are you ready to listen to us talk about Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within (2001)? Well, we weren't prepared to watch it. This week on video game adaptation month, we continue on with a series that Calum loves. A lot. We hope you're up for some enthused rambles. Final Fantasy fans will love the first half of this episode. The movie review of The Spirits Within, however… Well, it was certainly a thing we watched. This is definitely one of those instances in which we've watched it so you don't have to.Join us next week for Pokémon Detective Pikachu (2019)--- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/one-of-us-is-board/message

We watched something current for once, as we ventured to the cinema to see The Super Mario Bros. Movie (2023). It's currently the highest-grossing video game adaptation of all time; meaning it's popular so we must hate it right? That's what the film podcast people do - hate the popular stuff. Wrong, listener. We loved the new Mario movie, so enjoy a forty-minute rant about why we think it's great. Having suffered through a number of video game adaptation movies, including the other Super Mario Brothers movie, we are more than qualified to say whether this is a good adaptation or not. In our expert opinion, it's pretty solid. We interrupt our usual schedule to bring you a very special episode! We've made it to one hundred episodes of One of Us is Board, so we decided to celebrate by revisiting the very first film we reviewed; Soul (2020). The Soul episode is one that some people won't have had access to until recently. We decided to try some cool Spotify music features on that episode and quickly learned how limiting it was. This was a blessing because it stopped this podcast from becoming a self-indulgent radio station instead of a self-indulgent film podcast. It was so close to happening. We had an "our favourite albums of 2020" episode planned and everything. So, anyways, did Soul match up to how we remembered it? Did we even remember it? Listen and find out!

We've decided to sell out and do what the people want, and the people want more video game adaptations. After all, we would never want to disappoint our stans, so buckle up as we watch Silent Hill (2006). Talking of stans, this is one of Calum's favourite video game series, so you will actually get some knowledgeable content out of this one. If you haven't seen this film or played any of the games, you might be a little bit confused, but that's okay because that's Sam's permanent state. We talk about useless protagonists, gory deaths, and the unexplainable instance of Sean Bean surviving a film.Join us next week for our 100th Episode! We finish off our month of Don Bluth with The Land Before Time (1988). If you haven't heard of Don Bluth, you've probably heard of The Land Before Time anyways. There are, like, 17 films so surely you've seen one of them. Besides, who wouldn't watch to see some gummy baby dinosaurs watch their parents die and get chased by a T-Rex? This is another one of those painfully nostalgic films, so get ready to get into your feels and drown in ours. Also, we stan Spike.Join us next week as we start a brand new theme month! Welcome back to Blupril, where we continue the month by watching Anastasia (1997). Otherwise known as the eff you to Disney Princesses that was made a couple of decades too late. Also, it's based on a grim historical event in which an entire family was slaughtered. No one said revolutions were pretty. Luckily, the glitter and music in this film are pretty, so we can move past that. However, we can't move past the amount of American 'good guys' living amongst the Russian 'bad guys' in this film. The people who didn't and did attempt Russian accents in this are sus is all we're saying. We've provided you guys with a bonus sexy voice at the very start of this episode; you're welcome.

Oh well, it's a bit disappointing but nothing to write home about - much like this week's film! Funny story: Calum missed the best joke in the film, so we've put it in the podcast title to ensure you don't suffer the same fate. Goodbye Jeff Goldblum month, hello Don Bluth month! Welcome to Blupril! We kick off this month of dark children's movies with The Secret of NIMH (1982). If you haven't seen or heard of this before, think The Black Cauldron meets Watership Down. So, one of those weird semi-traumatic 80s children's movies that are weirdly boring for adults to revisit. However, there is a ton of voice-acting ASMR, so you do have that to look forward to (not from us). Yes, we miss Jeff. No, we don't want to talk about it.

It is the end of Jeff Goldblum month, otherwise known as THE Birthday month. We finish our journey through Jeff with Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1978). We were worried that maybe we wouldn't end with peak Goldblum because this film was relatively early in his career. However, we were overwhelmed with the amount of Jeff we received. It is simply too much Goldblum. Apparently, he toned it down after this one. What a month it has been. Do write in to let us know if you think we should rebrand to a permanent Jeff Goldblum tribute show. We will consider it.

It's March, which means it's Sam's Birthday month! Or as we've decided to call it, THE Birthday month. After all, what better way to celebrate Sam's birthday than with the podcast's very favourite mascot; THE Jeff Goldblum? This month is going to be an adventure in patience and quirk, and we've decided to start off with The Fly (1986). Get hyped team, as we're finishing off our Pokémon month by watching Pokémon Live! (2000). Now, only a small number of people ever got to see this live (not us), and then it disappeared forever, with only the soundtrack and trailer remaining. It was a piece of lost media that Sam obsessed with, mostly because the songs seemed to imply Giovanni was Ash's dad and that would be such a hilarious twist to add in a musical and then never speak of in canon. However, a hero named Chris Mitchell (the show's production stage manager) slowly started uploading clips and revealed the script. Eventually, a full edit of the show was uploaded to YouTube so we could finally watch this piece of lost media. Spoiler; Giovanni isn't explicitly said to be Ash Ketchum's dad, BUT THEY DON'T SAY HE ISN'T EITHER SO??

Christmas is coming towards us at an alarming pace, so we continue our Deck the Hallmark month with The Princess Switch (2018). Are you a big Vanessa Hudgens fan? If so, you're in luck, as this film features her twice. However, there is a lot to keep you enchanted, even if you aren't. Happy Halloween! We finish up our spoopy ways-to-die month with the eeriest of deaths - that of some well-regarded careers. We are, of course, talking about Cats (2019). It's a batshit crazy adaptation of an already batshit crazy show. This was Calum's fault. Calum decided that we all had to suffer this Halloween. Does singing to death count as a spoopy way to die? Hello and welcome back to our Spoopy Ways to Die month! This week we watched Rubber (2010), and spoiler, we were disappointed with the spoopy way people died in this film. If you think about a film about a murderous tire, what do you think you're in for? A super awesome gore-fest where you see a gigantic tire squish people? Perhaps you envision a plot where a tire attaches itself to cars and deliberately drives people into things? We get none of these. Instead, we get a vibrating tire exploding people to death and it's not as cool as it sounds. The true horror is found in how they managed to make the murderous tire film boring.

This episode was originally two hours and our editing team managed to cut it right down, so you're welcome (or sorry, if you love the sound of our voices). We've tried some new recording software so please let us know if the sound quality dips (only nice comments on the content quality please, we need to feed our egos)

God this one has a title longer than a Fall Out Boy song. Talking of fall-out, this week we kicked off Apocalyptic April with When the Wind Blows (1986). This is a super cheerful film in which we watch two charming seniors slowly wither and die due to acute radiation sickness following a nuclear bomb. Yes, we're aware of the unfortunate timing. It is what it is. Keep calm and carry on, just like this couple did. It went really well for them. We'd be curious to know if anyone else's school decided to traumatise them with this one.  If you survived this one, please join us next week as we have a go with an asteroid next as we watch Don't Look Up (2021)

Welcome to the last episode of Childhood Fever Dream month! This week we watched Hans Christian Andersen's The Little Mermaid (1975), not to be mistaken for Disney's The Little Mermaid. If you have seen it though, you'd know that it's an impossibility to get the two mixed up. Marina is a lot more willing to show her nips. This is an especially exciting episode because we meet Calum's nemesis. Extra points to whoever can figure out what's hidden behind the censor beeps. PM us what you think it is, and we'll give you a wee mention. And remember dear listener, change yourself for your man, especially if you're under 21. It needs done.

It's March, it's sunny, Sam turned twenty-something, and now we're watching Mousehunt (1997). You guessed right listener, we're living the dream over here. Jealous? Well, you're in luck. You can listen to us and maybe even watch along (if this film even appears on Amazon prime in your country). You want morbid funeral and toiler humour? This film is perfect for you. Despite the fact that Calum giggles at farts (I've HEARD you do it many times, sir), he didn't appreciate the toiler humour and he let's us know about it. Frequently. So you have that to look forward to, dear listener. Join us next week as we watch Hans Christian Andersen's The Little Mermaid (1975)

Welcome back to our month of 90's Childhood Fever Dreams, in which we celebrate the birth of Sam by watching the weird crap she watched as a child. This week, we had an amaizing time as we watched VeggieTales. Well, that's a lie, we've bean suffering. We don't carrot all for this series and we don't beet around the bush about it. Peas don't worry, we didn't include any puns in this episode at all. It's a show about Christian vegetables, so it's corny enough without the extra help.  Join us next week as we watch Mouse Hunt (1997)

Welcome to Childhood Fever Dream Month! It's entirely possible that we've managed to peak early this month as we start with The Brave Little Toaster Goes to Mars (1998). No, we didn't opt for the cult classic original. Should we have? Maybe. However, stick with this as we managed to come up with some fan-theories (haha Calum, you've been labelled a fan) that truly make this somewhat forgettable sequel so much better. There are so many sentences uttered in this episode that are possibly the first time certain words have been strung together, for better or worse.

We watched The Outfit (2022) and we thought it was brilliant. What is this positivity, you say? Well, we attended the UK premiere and got some free Prosecco! That alongside the prospect of seeing Dylan O'Brien's pretty face had us super happy before the film even began. This film was genuinely very good and we just wanted to share some of our spoiler-free thoughts in the hopes it encourages some of you to go and see it when it comes out!

Coco (2017) is the final film of February and thus concludes our "Pixar Films That Calum Never Bothered To See" month. We're gonna be real with you, this is mostly a tired ramble about family legacies, music, obscure TV adverts from the early 2000s and the freedom that comes with being forgotten. It sounds a lot more poetic and less confusing than it is, but join us nonetheless. We need the attention.

New month, new theme! March is Sam's birthday month, so join us as we watch some of her "Fever Dream Childhood Movies." We're starting off with The Brave Little Toaster Goes To Mars (1998) so make sure to join us for that!

Welcome back to "Pixar Films That Calum Has Never Bothered To See" month! This week we watched WALL-E (2008) and had a super cheery chat about how doomed the planet is. We also learned a lot about each other, as we seem to do every episode now. Maybe too much. Drinking game time! Take a shot every time you hear Sam whine about how space is scary and take a shot every time Calum says "post-scarcity" and let us know if you survive!

Welcome back to One of us is Board! We had a small burnout break, but we're now back with Ratatouille (2007) as part of our "Pixar films that Calum never bothered to see before now" month. A half-assed name for a half-assed month! This episode is possibly us at our best as we butcher some French accents, ramble about food and drift in and out of the plot in a tired daze.

Make sure to join us next week as we do the same to Wall-E (2008), but without the bad French accents. Probably.

Alas, we have reached the end of Judy January. We knew you guys would be sad about it so we delayed our episode on Judy (2019) so you could savour every last moment of it. It was a deliberate choice we made so that the Ashanti reference in the episode was made even more special. There's no laziness or procrastination to be found here. You can't have a Judy Garland month without including A Star is Born (1954). Well, you could, but it would suck and everyone would get mad at us. We can't have that as we crave only positive attention and adoration, much like the male lead of the this weeks film! We actually got a taste of what our listeners get. As a result of the film being somewhat hacked at and then awkwardly patched together; the first thirty minutes are super confusing. Well, if you can brave that sort of treatment, dear listener, so can we.

Exactly one year ago, with a noticeable shake in our voices, we released our first ever podcast. Oh how times have changed. Welcome back to Judy January! This week we watched Meet Me in St Louis (1944) and had a very twee time. Now, we know what you are all wondering. Yes, the title song lies. What better way is there to start off 2022 than to binge a bunch of Judy Garland films? Welcome back to One of us is Board, the professionally unprofessional film podcast obsessed with themed months. We kick off our first show of the year with The Wizard of Oz (1939). You do, admittedly, have to listen to a twenty minute ramble about an unfortunate and traumatic childhood production of the text to get the film chat. BUT stick with it listener, as you are rewarded with an amazing promise for the future near the end. Glinda the Bad Bitch of Oz is going to be the ultimate fanfiction (possibly the next 50 shades of grey), so watch this space and help bully Calum into writing it in its full.

Mortal Kombat (1995) is a movie that we decided didn't belong in our video game adaptation month. Why? Because we're not very smart. Really, that one fact explains many of our episodes. We decided to go back and revisit it as one of our last films of 2021 and hopefully that'll make up for it. So, did it hold up? Hell yeah! It was awesome! Welcome back! This week we watched Cats and Dogs (2001) and the podcast went some weird places. This was to be expected. The film is a James Bond parody using cats and dogs, after all. It's wild that this exists and still has some sequels being produced. Lots of important discussions feature in this episode, for example, we debate as to whether Australia really exists. It's worth a listen for that alone, surely. If nothing else it gives you an indication as to how dire the UK's geography education standard is. For the record; we're team dog all the way.

This week we watched Jumanji (1995) and decided it would be fun to take this beloved classic and deliver the most chaotic review possible. No joke. While this is objectively an awful review of Jumanji, it is a fantastic insight into how our minds work. Perhaps this should have went out as a Halloween episode. You thought Halloween month being done meant the horror was over? You thought wrong. This week we watched Diana: The Musical (2021) and well, yeah. It's just about as tasteful as you could expect, yet somehow the most boring show we've ever watched. You have over two hours of what feels like the same song going on forever about a marriage breaking down. Please don't watch it, just listen to us talk about it instead. This episode has a special guest star! Calum's fire alarm apparently didn't like the show either and decided to drain it's battery in protest. This guest consequently features throughout. While it does fit the vibe of the episode, it might be slightly annoying. Many apologies, but you don't come here expecting professionalism anyways. Welcome to our very Spoopy Halloween Month! Be sure to listen with a friend and secure your mobile device as Frankenstein (1931) is peak spoopy. Why did we choose to watch it? Well, neither of us have seen it; despite being film graduates. We also didn't know what to do for Halloween, so we stole a list off IMBD and hoped for the best. Did it pay off? Heck yeah! Spoiler alert; this film and this episode is a blast, but do bear with us as we get all the names wrong. To be fair, they've named Frankenstein, Henry, and have given his best friend his original name. It's confusing! Why film? Why? The spoopiest part of this whole thing is the unusual amount of positivity and enthusiasm. Join us next week as we watch Forbidden Siren (2006). Good luck watching alone with us, because this movie has been so hard to find.

Welcome to Video Game Adaptation Month! A snazzy name will eventually be thought of I'm sure, VGAM is no MMMM after all. This month (and slightly beyond) we will be celebrating the birth of Calum by watching the what we're sure will be some highbrow art. We begin with Street Fighter (1994)! Why? Well, Calum said so and Sam forced him to watch the Muppets for a month so fair game. Street Fighter is a genuine delight in the same way that watching your friend do something embarrassing yet endearing is. Join us as we lovingly try to figure out the plot of a film that doesn't really have cohesive plot. Embrace the chaos, listener! Join us next week as we watch Resident Evil (2002)

Today dear listener, we kind of watch Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga (2020) but mostly rant about the most recent actual Eurovision. Yeah, no points for us for keeping on topic and also because we're in the UK and Europe hate us. Fear not people of the UK, for Calum and Sam have a plan that will get us at least twenty points. We hope. Sophie Ellis-Bextor, DM us.

Join us next week as we begin to celebrate Calum's birthday month. He's decided the theme shall be Video Game Adaptations, so we're gonna start with Street Fighter (1994)

So in Scotland, Braveheart (1995) is seen as a meme. Most us haven't watched the film in it's entirety, instead we just embrace watching the infamous 'freedom' speech played over and over at various sporting events. Join two Scots as they break the most sacred of rules and they watch all three hours (three hours?!) of Mel Gibson as William Wallace. If you're an American who really wants to embrace your Scottish roots, I'd give this one a miss.

Also yes, this is hellishly late. Sue me.

Today we argue, we laugh, and we cry as we watch the Pixar film that deserved way better, Onward (2020). Not to toot our own horn, but this is genuinely a great episode, mostly because the film is super great (toot-toot). Instead of discussing our faves spitting on us, we fondly reminisce about our biggest argument in an era where life was easy and covid was something relegated to a sci-fi movie.

Join us next week as we embrace our Scottishness and watch Braveheart

You ready for some unprecedented enthusiasm? This week we watch Galaxy Quest (1999). Calum hates sci-fi, so the film had that going against it going in. Did it win him over? Obviously! It's a sci-fi film [lovingly] mocking sci-fi; it's his dream. Join us as we gush over a great film and debate some important questions about fandom and celebrity culture. Such as, would Calum still be a fan of Mariah Carey if she spat on him? We're sure you're all dying to know, so be sure to have a listen! Join us next week as we talk about Onward (2020)

Literally no one asked for this, but we did it anyways. This week we watched Shrek the Musical (2013) so that you don't have to. Was it any good? Well, you'll need to listen to find out. Or you could just google the (Tony Award Winning??) costumes and see for yourself. Take a look at Shrek and Donkey and then ask yourself, does this look like a winning product? If your answer is yes, you're in for a great time. If you're a normal person, well, at least your kids might like it?

In this totally not late at all episode, Calum and Sam talk about a small movie that you've probably not heard of, Shrek (2001). Somehow this film is now twenty years old. Yeah, we know, how did that happen? So, it's the perfect time to look back at this early 2000s time capsule. In this episode you're also treated to a brand new theory about Shrek that makes the film a whole lot better. Well, at the very least it's entertaining to hear about.

Join us next week as we talk about Shrek the Musical (2010). If we had to suffer through it, we had better get numbers for it.

You know how some films definitely don't like up to what you remember from your childhood? Who Framed Roger Rabbit (1988) is nowhere near what we expected; it's way better. Same goes with this podcast. This week you're treated to a sad analysis of the death of a shoe (he just wanted to live DAMMIT) and the revelation of a plot hole that tears apart the very fabric of the film's existence. Exaggeration or truth? You'll need to listen to find out.

RIP March Month of Muppets Madness. Well. Moving on! You know who knows a lot about emo rap? Not us. Regardless of this, this week we watch Everybody's Everything (2019), an enthralling documentary about the rise of and tragic premature death of Lil Peep (Gustav Elijah Åhr). While we're definitely not gonna score any cool points any time soon, even we think this documentary is fascinating and really worth a watch. While you don't have to watch it before listening to us waffle on, you might want to as we dive pretty deep in (not that the ending of the documentary is a spoiler at this point).

Next week we watch Who Framed Roger Rabbit (1988) because who wants consistent tone? Not us!

One of us is devastated that our March Month of Muppets Madness is at an end (and it's certainly not Calum). We end on an epic high with Muppets Treasure Island (1996). The film that VHS ads were determined to make us watch by blasting cabin fever on loop. So is this the best treasure island adaptation ever? (Yes.) Well, you'll have to listen to find out! (It is.) This episode is late, but mostly cause Sam is in denial that the Muppets month is ending and was hoping that she could prolong it indefinitely by simply refusing to edit the last one. If it had to end, at least it ends with this one. Next week we take a dive into the opposite direction as we watch Everybody's Everything (2019). We hope you'll join us then!

We're doing a sequel. We're back by popular demand. Ha, well, we wanted to do some more anyways. Welcome back listener! This week we're continuing our March Month of Madness with Muppets Most Wanted (2014). Calum was kept happy with the inclusion of Celine Dion so Sam's happy rambles about a franchise she has found random, unexplained enthusiasm for are kept relatively unchecked. Is this bad or good, well, listen and you'll find out. This is another one where we do have to hype up the soundtrack. It's really quite good and the world is miserable so you should listen to it and be happy.

BREAKING NEWS: THE MUPPETS (2012) IS A MUPPET FILM THAT STATLER ACTUALLY LIKES! So yeah, welcome back to our March Month of Muppet Madness, the month where Sam forces Calum to watch Muppet films for a month: whether he likes it or not. The Muppets (2012) has honestly come as a really pleasant surprise. Even Waldorf was sceptical, but damn, they done made a good reunion movie. We also highly recommend giving the soundtrack of this one a go if you wanna get addicted to some catchy tunes and embarrass yourself as your friends on Spotify watch you listen to the new version of Rainbow Connection on repeat.

We hope you'll join us next Wednesday when we watch Muppets Most Wanted

Welcome back to our March Month of Muppets Madness! This time, Statler and Waldorf are here to present you with a glowing review of what is undoubtedly the weirdest of the Muppet movies, Muppets From Space (1999). While it is literally impossible to make a Muppets film unlikeable, the makers of this film really did give it the good ol' college try. There are easier ways of giving a franchise a break guys. Just go on holiday. Next week we continue our March Month of Muppets Madness with The Muppets (2011).

Welcome to our March Month of Muppets Madness! This month we're going to be watching a number of different Muppets films, starting with 'The Muppet Movie' (1979). If you've been desperately hunting for a frenzied ramble about how great Rainbow Connection is, some day you'll find it (and by some day we mean, well done you've found it now). Not only do you get to hear some frantic fangirl rants, you'll also be treated to some movie trivia and the answers to the questions everyone has been curious about. Like, what is Calum's favourite muppet(s)?

From here on out, Podcasts will be released every Wednesday at 5pm!

Circle (2015) is like Big Brother if the eliminations were every two minutes instead of every week. Also, instead of having to sit through an interview with Davina McCall at the end of it, you get to embrace the sweet relief of death as you are brutally murdered with alien lasers. One of us liked this film, the other was less convinced; be sure to let us know who you agree with! If you haven't yet watched Circle (not to be mistaken with 'The Circle,' another show that is eerily similar) watch it with a friend. No, seriously. We've come to the conclusion that watching this film is better off as a team sport.

Don't forget to join us next week as we begin our March Muppets Madness Month!

The Platform (2019) sounds like something out of Sam and Calum's dreams; a moving buffet. Could there be anything better? Don't worry though, dear listener, you don't have to sit through a half-hour glowing food review. Instead, you get to hear a truly disdainful review of a film that many people seem to love for reasons we just don't understand. Just like how this description has spoiled our opinion of the film, our review spoils most of 'The Platform' (2019) so please proceed with caution if it's on your watch-list.

Today, one grump and one glorious sunshine of a personality watch Disney's Moana. Thank you for joining us in this episode of 'one of us regrets giving the other the power to write the descriptions'. Well Calum, what can I say except, "You're welcome." This is a short and sweet review of Moana (or a long enthusiastic ode to Heihei in Calum's case), so if you haven't given the podcast a try, this is a perfect one to start with.

Did you know that there is a one-in-twenty chance that you have a secret twin that you don't know about? Did you also know that 70% of statistics are made up on the spot? Today Calum and Sam assume the role of armchair psychologists as they watch the 2018 documentary, 'Three Identical Strangers.' Now, we do genuinely think that you'd be missing out by not experiencing this one for yourself first, so don't spoil it for yourself by listening to us waffle first (but please do come back when you've watched it).

This week we watched a film that definitely narrowly missed out on an Oscar, Thunderpants (2002). While Sam saw this film during it's cinematic release, Calum was unlucky and missed the opportunity. Thankfully, he was able to make up for it now by watching the epic tale of a boy who attempts to fart his way into Space.
