Hi! My name is L.A. and I'm a HUGE fan of Jane Austen! My favorite novel of hers is Pride and Prejudice, which is primarily going to be my first main focus! Join me as I venture into the wonderful world of Jane Austen, falling in love with Mr. Darcy over and over again!
Get out the popcorn and get cozy because we're going to the movies this week! Not only are we going to discuss Pride and Prejudice 2005, but also a sweet bonus movie!
Welcome dearest listeners to another Mr. Darcy-obsessed-fueled episode of Austen-Tatious! I’m your host, L.A. Grabins, and today I have an amazing jam-packed episode lined up for you!
As I mentioned before, today we’re going to the movies and watching Pride and Prejudice 2005 & a cool sweet bonus - Pride and Prejudice: A New Musical! Both are exceptional adaptations of Pride and Prejudice, in their own ways, and should be watched by every single Jane Austen fan out there!
Since these are not exactly the same medium (the musical was merely a filmed recording of their performances, kind of like how they shot Hamilton), I’m not going to be comparing them to each other. Instead, I’ll do a shortened version of what I did last time, spending the first half on a review for the movie and then finishing off with the musical.
Much like last time, I’m going to be looking at five categories.
The five categories I’ll be looking under are:
- Costuming
- Relationship Depictions
- Depictions of Balls
- Inclusion of Letter Details
- Book Accuracy
Since obviously, one is a musical and, well, Pride and Prejudice was not created as a musical, book accuracy for the musical will look more at only the events and characters included, while also taking a little time to talk about how the music fits in.
So, without further ado, let’s get to it!

Welcome back everyone to a brand new episode of Austen-Tatious! I’m your host, L.A. Grabins and boy do I have a fun podcast planned for y’all! Today we’re reviewing the two tv adaptations of Pride and Prejudice. Both of these were done by the BBC and have casts with many famous people who continue to enjoy long-lasting careers. Before we begin, I want to quickly go over how I’m going to be rating these shows. Each category that I will describe will be given a rating out of 10.
The five categories I’ll be looking under are:

Everything that will be discussed will be a lot of repetition of the details from the previous episodes, so be sure to check those out before continuing

Hello and Welcome back to another episode of Austen-Tatious! I'm so happy to be discussing Regency Era Relationships in Pride and Prejudice with you in this episode! Honestly, at the core of the book are the various relationships that take place - they are perhaps the most important part of it! So, before I went further into the novel and the various other topics I would like to get to, I wanted to take the time to really explain and describe what the relationships in the book mean and show. Please enjoy!
P.S. - As I was recording this episode, I suddenly found myself going on some tangents in the middle of it, so it's going to be extra long compared to what my last episode was! Still, I think that having some of those tangents in there allowed me to show some of my own personality and how much I truly love the novel!
Hello Everyone! Welcome to Austen-Tatious and our very first episode of our Pride and Prejudice series! I'm so happy to be starting this wonderful journey with all of you and I hope you stick around to hear all of the wonderful things I have in store for this series! Today's episode is going to be a sort of a "laid-back" beginning to this series, focusing mainly on getting a general opinion about the novel from some of my classmates and my family.
