In the eighth episode of Let's Get Loud @TCU, Mak and Mar are joined by one of their favorite professors, Dr. Rima Abunasser. Rima is an Instructor for Addran College of Liberal Arts, a WGST Affiliate, a CRES (Comparative Race and Ethnic Studies) Affiliate & former Co-Director of Middle East Studies at Texas Christian University. She is one of the most intentional, inspiring and extraordinary professors at TCU. In this episode they discuss her journey to TCU, how collaborative theoretical work can be, and how to introduce and expand the way students think about diversity, equity and inclusion with a feminist lens. In the seventh episode of Let's Get Loud @TCU, you get to meet the Intercultural Center's very own Marcela Vasquez and Noe Bernabe Barrera. These two are some of the students who make the IC feel like home, and they never fail to make everyone who walks in there feel so welcome. These students are motivated, dedicated and actively have a hand in making Texas Christian University inclusive and engaging for all students. They are students who are involved on and off campus, and are driven to create community in any space that they are in. In the sixth episode of Let's Get Loud @TCU, you will get to know your two hosts: Mak & Mar, hosted by LGL's own Ali Carter. You will get to know Mariana Gonzalez-Berrocal, the graduate assistant for GRO (Gender Resource Office) as well as a teaching assitant for WGST (Women & Gender Studies) who is dedicated to diversity & inclusion, and LGBTQ+ studies and programming. You will also get to hear from Makayla Rosales, the graduate assistant for Student Life Analyics and intern for Student Identity and Engagement who is passionate about advocacy, equity and justice.
