The Memphis Grizzlies were hot on the heels of a first playoff victory in 2011 - beating San Antonio in 6 and pushing the KD-led Thunder to 7 games. And then the 2011 lockout hit: no basketball until the day after Christmas. With the fall gone and momentum flagging, things get worse when Z-bo goes down with a knee injury 8 games into the season. But fast forward four months filled with Marreese Speights playing well at the 4 and the Grizzlies finish 41 - 25 to take the 4 seed in the west - home court advantage for the first time. The Grizzlies squared off with a young Clippers team featuring Chris Paul and Blake Griffin. The slugfest that followed marked the beginning of a real rivalry between two of the best in the west.
