SEO is changing faster than ever, and what worked even a year ago might already be outdated. In this episode, I'm joined once again by SEO expert Kristie Plantinga to unpack what therapists actually need to know about ranking online in 2026. We dive into the rise of AI search, whether AI optimization (AIO) is really different from SEO, and why therapists may have more of an advantage than they realize as tools like ChatGPT and Google's AI Overviews continue to shape how potential clients find providers.
We also talk about what strategies are still worth your time, what advice has become outdated, and why Google Business Profiles may now be one of the highest leverage marketing tools available. Kristie shares her thoughts on blogging in the age of AI, how to position yourself as the go to expert in your niche, and why being known for one specific thing matters more than ever. If you've been wondering where to focus your marketing efforts without wasting time on tactics that no longer work, this conversation will give you clarity and direction.

How did a simple one hour workshop turn into an $8,000 revenue day? In this episode, I take you behind the scenes of one of the most unexpected launches I've ever had and break down exactly what happened, what I think made it successful, and what I'd do differently next time. I share why I finally stepped outside my comfort zone to talk numbers, how a spontaneous idea from a coffee shop became a profitable offer, and why understanding my audience mattered far more than having the perfect launch strategy.
I also dig into the bigger lessons this experience taught me about marketing in today's AI driven landscape. We talk about creating low ticket offers that genuinely solve a pressing problem, why I trusted my instincts instead of asking for permission, how simple marketing outperformed overcomplicated strategies, and why being willing to pivot may be one of the most valuable business skills you can develop.

Money stress doesn't have to be the price of running a successful therapy practice. In this episode, I sit down with Profit First expert and therapist bookkeeper Andrea Rotondo to talk about one of the most overlooked parts of private practice: creating a financial system that gives you clarity instead of constant anxiety.
We unpack how the Profit First framework works specifically for therapists, why simply looking at your bank balance can be misleading, and how organizing your money with intention can help you prepare for taxes, annual expenses, payroll, vacations, and future growth without the last minute panic.
We also discuss the difference between paying yourself and earning true profit as a business owner, why even starting with just 1% can make a meaningful difference, and how building healthy financial systems can create more freedom, confidence, and sustainability in both your business and your personal life.

The biggest wins in business don't always tell the whole story. In this quarter two review, I'm pulling back the curtain on what the last three months actually looked like behind the scenes, from hosting my first retreat and traveling to multiple business events to refining my Scale Up Mastermind, experimenting with Instagram ads, and preparing for new opportunities. I'm sharing what paid off, what I'd approach differently, and why moving quickly, even when things aren't perfect, became my theme for the quarter.
I'm also opening up about the personal challenges that existed alongside those business milestones. I talk about balancing entrepreneurship with motherhood, navigating family addiction, the toll of compartmentalizing difficult emotions, and why I'm prioritizing nervous system regulation over simply chasing more growth.

Ready to get paid to speak? In this episode, I'm joined by returning guest Gabrielle Juliano-Villani to talk about one of the most overlooked ways therapists can diversify their income and expand their impact through paid speaking.
We unpack what it actually takes to build a speaking career, how speaking can become much more than conference keynotes, and why podcasts, workshops, trainings, retreats, and social media all play a role in creating visibility. Gabrielle also shares her own journey from scaling and selling a seven figure group practice to building a business centered around consulting, retreats, education, and speaking.

What if your next high-paying client finds you through AI before they ever visit your website?
In this episode, I share a personal experience that completely reinforced what I've been teaching therapists about marketing and visibility. After deciding to invest in an EMDR intensive for myself, I turned to ChatGPT to help me find a provider.
What happened next revealed just how dramatically the client journey is changing. I walk you through the search process, the differences between the practices I contacted, and why some therapists are getting recommended while others are being overlooked. This conversation explores what AI search means for private practice owners and why the traditional marketing playbook may not be enough moving forward.

What if the thing holding back your business growth has nothing to do with your business at all? In this episode, I sit down with Kelly Hubbell, founder of Sage House, to explore a concept that is gaining traction among ambitious women and entrepreneurs: the house manager. We unpack what a house manager actually does, how the role differs from a nanny or family assistant, and why so many high-achieving professionals are realizing that support at home can be just as important as support in the workplace.

What happens when a client says, "I don't want to be here anymore," and you're the only clinician in the room?
In this important conversation, I sit down with therapist and former ER mental health clinician Maria Winters to discuss one of the most challenging situations therapists can face: assessing and responding to suicidal ideation in private practice. Drawing from 12 years of experience in emergency psychiatry, Maria shares what therapists often misunderstand about suicide risk, why asking direct questions matters, and how to distinguish between suicidal thoughts and an active crisis. We talk through intent, plans, access to means, substance use, emergency petitions, hospitalization decisions, and what actually happens after a client arrives at the emergency room.
This episode is especially relevant for therapists in private practice, group practice owners, and clinicians who want to feel more confident navigating high-risk situations. We also discuss common fears around liability, when to involve crisis response teams or law enforcement, and why ongoing training in suicide assessment is something every therapist should prioritize. Whether you're a seasoned clinician or early in your career, this conversation offers practical insight into having life-saving conversations with greater confidence and clinical clarity.

Building a successful business while navigating grief, burnout, and uncertainty is not something we talk about enough. In this episode, I sit down with therapist, creator, and founder of Parenting the Anxious Child, Robyn Isman, for an honest conversation about what it actually looks like to grow a business during one of the hardest seasons of life. We talk about building an audience from scratch, creating digital offers as a therapist, scaling beyond one to one work, and the emotional reality of entrepreneurship that social media rarely shows.
Robyn opens up about growing her platform while caring for her mother during the final months of her life, the identity shifts that come with becoming a creator, and why "passive income" is rarely passive.

Everything changes when therapists finally have a safety net. In this episode, I sit down with Jeanine Rousso, founder of the Therapist Resource Network, to talk about a resource I truly believe every therapist needs to know about. We dive into the reality so many clinicians are quietly facing financial instability, burnout, and what happens when life throws something unexpected your way. I share why this conversation matters so deeply to me and how having support in those hardest seasons can change everything about how we show up in our work and our lives.
Jeanine opens up about the personal experiences and industry gaps that led her to build a nonprofit dedicated to supporting therapists through crises, from natural disasters to personal emergencies. We talk about the realities of therapist income, the emotional weight of this profession, and what it actually looks like to receive support when you need it most. If you've ever hit a point where you just want to burn it all down, this episode is going to feel like someone finally understands what you've been experiencing. I walk you through what's really happening during the luteal phase when your business suddenly feels heavy, frustrating, or completely out of alignment. I share why that urge to quit, burn it down, or disappear isn't random or dramatic, but often a powerful signal pointing to deeper structural issues in your business and the way it's currently relying on you.
I also coach you through how to navigate those intense days without making impulsive decisions you might regret later. We explore how hormones amplify what's already there, how burnout and over-functioning show up in sneaky ways, and how to start building a business that doesn't collapse every 30 days. If you've ever questioned yourself, your capacity, or your business during this phase, this episode will help you separate truth from temporary emotion and start making more supportive, sustainable shifts.

Stop chasing algorithms and start building a marketing engine that actually works for you. In this episode, I sit down with Liz Zhou, therapist turned website designer and copywriter, to unpack what's really driving client inquiries in 2026. We dive into why SEO is more than just a buzzword and how your website serves as the foundation of your entire marketing ecosystem. I explore the often-overlooked gap between getting traffic and actually converting that traffic into paying clients, and Liz shares how therapists can create websites that not only rank but resonate.
We also get real about the highs and lows of social media growth, including Liz's experience going viral and the burnout that followed. I ask the questions so many of you are wondering: Do you actually need Instagram to grow your practice? What happens if you step away? And how can you create a more sustainable, long-term marketing strategy that doesn't rely on constant posting? From niching down and refining your messaging to designing a neurodivergent-friendly website that speaks clearly to your ideal client, this episode will challenge the way you think about marketing your practice.

In part two of my conversation with Christi Underwood, we move beyond the basics and dive into what really matters once your ads are live. I walk through the exact metrics you should be paying attention to, how to tell if your ads are worth the investment, and the subtle signs that something needs to shift before you waste more money.
We also get honest about the realities of tracking in today's privacy-first world, what to do when conversions feel unclear, and how to think about your ad strategy as your practice grows and evolves. This might be the uncomfortable truth that's quietly holding you back more than anything else. In this episode, I want to cover a topic no one really talks about. So many of us are silently navigating what it actually feels like when the people closest to you do not understand, support, or believe in your vision. This is so much more common than you think, though. Too often, family, partners, or friends question your ambition, your pricing, and your dreams. We dive into the emotional weight of feeling misunderstood and why chasing validation from the wrong people can keep you stuck longer than any strategy ever will.
I also walk you through the mindset shifts and practical tools that changed everything for me. This episode will help you separate love from alignment and give you permission to expand beyond the ceilings you were raised around. If you've ever felt torn between your vision and the expectations of others, this conversation will hit deep and help you move forward with clarity and confidence.

If you've ever wondered whether Google Ads are the missing piece in growing your private practice, this episode might completely change how you think about them. In this conversation, I sit down with Christi Underwood to break down what therapists actually need in place before spending a single dollar on ads and why jumping in too early can end up costing you more than it helps. We unpack the foundational pieces most people skip, from your online presence to your lead management systems, and why these elements make or break your results.

In this episode, I'm sharing the exact spring cleaning process I'm doing inside my own businesses right now and why this behind-the-scenes work can dramatically impact your revenue this year. While most people focus on marketing and sales, I'm walking you through the less glamorous but incredibly powerful audits I'm doing this spring to tighten up operations, improve efficiency, and set myself up for stronger growth in the months ahead.
From reviewing legal protections and experimenting with AI to evaluating my energy, finances, and offers, I'm breaking down the five key areas I'm intentionally auditing right now. I also share the mindset shifts and simple exercises that help me stay focused on what actually moves the needle in business and life. If you're craving a fresh start for your practice or business as we head into Q2, this episode will help you think differently about where your time and attention should really go.

In this episode, I sit down with Amanda Buduris to pull back the curtain on her journey to crossing the seven-figure mark as a therapist and business owner. We talk about how she built a thriving practice centered around therapy intensives, why she leaned heavily into SEO instead of social media early on, and how a consulting business naturally grew from therapists asking, "How are you doing this?" Amanda shares what it looked like to evolve from simply wanting to replace her old salary to realizing the massive potential that existed inside her practice model.
We also dive into the real lessons that came with scaling. Amanda opens up about the importance of building the right team, the pressure many entrepreneurs feel to constantly create new offers, and how simplifying her business actually helped it grow faster. We explore the mindset challenges that come with visibility, handling criticism online, and learning how to balance ambition with a nervous system that doesn't always want to slow down. If you've ever wondered what it really takes to scale while protecting your energy and your life outside of work, this conversation will give you an honest behind-the-scenes look.

Is SEO actually dead… or are we just playing by outdated rules?
In this episode, I'm interrupting our seven-figure series to talk about something that feels urgent: the massive shifts happening in SEO and AI search and what they mean for you as a therapist in private practice. I break down why SEO isn't dead (despite what the internet is screaming), but it is very different than it was even a year ago. We're no longer just talking about showing up on Google. Now we're navigating visibility on AI platforms like ChatGPT, Perplexity AI, Claude, Google, and Bing. I'll explain the big pivot away from "content is king" and toward something much more powerful in 2026: legitimacy, credibility, and topical authority.
I also walk you through three practical shifts you can implement quickly (without writing 1,500-word blogs twice a week) to help you show up in AI searches and attract more private-pay clients. We'll talk about zero-click searches, why your Google Business Profile and directory bios matter more than ever, and how to structure your website so AI tools actually recommend you. My intention with this episode is to show you exactly where to focus next.

What if the real reason you haven't scaled your practice isn't strategy… but capacity?
In this episode, I'm covering the piece no one talks about in the seven-figure conversation: your energy. We can learn marketing. We can master systems. We can hire and scale. But if you don't have the time, space, and nervous system regulation to implement what you already know, you will stay stuck. I share the hard statistics around female entrepreneurs and therapists hitting major revenue milestones, and why doing what "everyone else" is doing simply won't get you there. I also walk you through the mindset shift that changed everything for me after a season of grief, burnout, and realizing I was living in the wrong story.
I break down the practical and personal shifts that helped me expand my capacity. I'll challenge you to look at what you're holding outside of work, what you're doing out of obligation instead of alignment, and why managing your life like a seven-figure therapist has to happen before you become one. If you want to scale without sacrificing your health, relationships, or sanity, this is the episode that will change how you think about growth.

What if the only thing standing between you and a seven figure practice is the belief that you're allowed to have one?
In this episode, I sit down with Jessica Harris, author of The Wealthy Therapist, to go behind the scenes of what it actually took for her to cross seven figures as a therapist and coach. We talk about the identity shift required to make more money, the burnout and mistakes no one sees, and the real needle movers that helped her scale. From hiring the right coach and simplifying her business model to doing deep nervous system and mindset work around money, Jessica shares what truly changed the game and why strategy alone is never enough.
We also dive into the practical side of building a thriving cash pay practice in today's market. Jessica breaks down the marketing strategies she's seeing work right now, including how to leverage Google, therapist directories, and conversion focused websites to consistently attract and close private pay clients. Plus, we get honest about motherhood, delegation, and what it really looks like to balance a growing business with raising a child. This conversation is empowering, tactical, and deeply validating for any therapist who knows they're meant for more.

Building a seven-figure group practice does not have to mean burnout, chaos, or abandoning your clinical values.
In this episode, I'm officially kicking off the Seven Figure Therapist Series with someone I immediately thought of when therapists kept asking me if this level of growth was even possible. Dr. Leah Clionsky joins me to pull back the curtain on how she built a thriving, private pay group practice rooted in evidence-based care, premium pricing, and sustainability. Leah never set out to chase a revenue milestone, yet by building a practice she was deeply proud of and relentlessly focused on profit, she crossed seven figures and continues to scale year after year.
We talk candidly about what actually makes a group practice financially viable and emotionally sustainable. Leah shares how she structures her team, why she hires experienced clinicians, how she protects her time as an owner, and what her involvement in the practice looks like now. We also dive into the numbers most therapists avoid, the mindset shift required to invest instead of hoard, and why quality and profitability are not at odds with one another. This conversation is equal parts grounding and expansive for anyone who wants to grow without resentment or exhaustion.

If this episode expands what feels possible for you, make sure you're subscribed so you don't miss the rest of the Seven Figure Therapist Series. Each conversation will highlight a different path to growth and a different way to define success. Are you using or considering using AI note takers in your therapy sessions and wondering how to introduce it ethically, confidently, and without damaging the therapeutic relationship?
In today's episode, I sit down with returning guest Dr. Elisabeth Morray, VP of Clinical at Alma, to unpack what it actually looks like to have real conversations with clients about AI in the therapy room. We talk about informed consent, client autonomy, fear-based reactions to AI, and how to frame this technology as an optional, collaborative experiment rather than a forced change. Dr. Morray shares her experience as an early adopter and explains how therapists can center presence, trust, and relationship-building while still benefiting from time-saving tools.
We also dive into the practical and ethical side of implementation, including when to bring it up, what language to use, how to respond when clients opt out, and why separate consent processes may be safer than burying AI language in long intake forms. You'll hear powerful insights on how AI-generated notes can sometimes become therapeutic tools themselves by supporting reflection and continuity between sessions. If you have been feeling stuck between wanting efficiency and protecting the integrity of your clinical work, this conversation will give you a grounded, thoughtful framework to move forward.

What if "doing well" no longer feels secure because the income that once worked no longer meets your financial needs?
In this episode, I'm sharing what I'm seeing across conversations with therapists right now and what I'm personally experiencing as well. Inflation, debt, cost of living, and long-term goals are forcing many therapists to confront a hard truth: paying the bills isn't the same as feeling financially safe. Wanting more doesn't mean you're ungrateful. It means you're awake.
We talk about why hitting a new level of financial security requires doing things differently, not just working harder, and the identity shift that comes with deciding you're done repeating the same year over and over. I also share why money conversations still feel taboo for women, how your environment shapes your growth, and why getting out of your day-to-day routine through in-person experiences can radically change how you think about your business, your income, and what's possible. That pattern disruption is exactly what inspired me to host my very first Entrepreneurial Therapist Retreat this year.

What would it actually take to add an extra $5,000 a month to your therapy practice without burning out or stacking more one-to-one sessions? In this episode, I dive headfirst into one of my favorite topics: additional revenue streams and how therapists can strategically scale beyond the traditional one-to-one model. I walk you through why relying on a single income stream is risky, how unexpected life events can impact your business, and why building flexibility into your revenue can transform not just your income, but your health, energy, and quality of life.
I break down the two most common paths therapists take: building a profitable group practice and stepping into the creator economy with offers like courses, coaching, memberships, speaking, or retreats. We talk real numbers, realistic expectations, and what it actually looks like to design offers that work in today's fast-changing market. I also share how I think about pricing, program structure, audience growth, and why 2026 is shaping up to be a powerful year for connection-based business models. If you've been thinking about scaling but feel overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure where to start, this episode will help you zoom out, think bigger, and create a strategy that fits your lifestyle and long-term vision.

Is private practice really "broken," or is the therapy industry simply evolving faster than we expected?
In this episode, I sit down with Allison Puryear for a grounded, honest conversation about the major shifts happening in the therapy industry as we head deeper into 2026. We unpack what is actually behind the slowdown so many therapists are feeling, why what worked from 2020 to 2023 no longer works the same way, and how big therapy tech, virtual care, insurance dynamics, and AI are reshaping access to care. Allison brings decades of perspective to help us zoom out, calm the panic, and understand what is truly changing and what is not.
We also talk about where therapists still have a massive advantage and how to build a practice that is sustainable, human-centered, and resilient in this new landscape. From relationship-based referrals and ethical networking to niche clarity, speaking opportunities, and adapting your marketing without burning out, this episode is about reclaiming agency and momentum when the noise feels overwhelming.

What if the reason you haven't hit multi-six figures yet has nothing to do with your strategy and everything to do with your identity?
In this episode, I'm diving into one of the biggest (and most overlooked) reasons entrepreneurial therapists stay stuck: the identity ceiling they're unconsciously living under. I'm sharing why you don't need permission to evolve, why mindset (not marketing) is often the real bottleneck to growth, and how the identity you're operating from determines what feels "safe" or "possible" in your business. We'll talk about what it really takes to scale in 2026, especially when you're in the messy middle, things aren't shiny anymore, and quitting feels tempting.
I also open up about my own identity shifts from solo therapist to multi–six–figure entrepreneur and the uncomfortable growth that came with it. We explore failure (and why you must be willing to fail fast), the hidden fears that keep therapists playing small, and how surrounding yourself with the right rooms and people can fundamentally change what you believe you're capable of. If you're done repeating the same year over and over and ready to step into a bigger version of yourself, this episode is for you.

Is SEO still worth your time as a therapist in a world dominated by AI and constant algorithm changes? In this replay of one of our most downloaded episodes of the year, I sit down with SEO expert Chris Morin from Moonraker to break down what actually moves the needle when it comes to getting your private practice website to rank on Google. We talk honestly about whether Google is still relevant, how AI fits into modern SEO (without turning your website into generic fluff), and why content creation is still one of the most powerful and accessible marketing strategies for therapists today.
In this conversation, Chris shares a refreshingly practical approach to SEO that feels doable even if you're juggling a full caseload. We dive into how people are really searching for therapy, the biggest mistakes therapists make with service pages, and how to structure your site so Google actually understands what you do, who you help, and where you're located. If SEO has ever felt overwhelming, confusing, or like a total black hole of effort, this episode will help you see a clear path forward and remind you that you don't need to do everything to see results.

In this replay of one of the most downloaded episodes of the year, I'm breaking down the best marketing strategies I truly believe in if you value flexibility, rest, and sustainability as much as growth. I walk you through what freedom-based marketing really means, why hustle-heavy strategies eventually backfire, and how to start thinking about your marketing decisions through the lens of your future life.
I cover what works best for both practice builders and creators, from SEO and Google visibility to email lists, funnels, and the role social media should (and shouldn't) play. I share real examples from my own business, explain why some strategies quietly keep working for years, and ask you to take an honest look at whether your current marketing is aligned with the life you're trying to build for your health, your family, and your long-term well-being.

Have you ever wondered how much easier content creation could feel if AI actually sounded like you? In this episode, I'm sitting down with social media strategist and AI expert Talisa Pina to break down the exact process for using AI to save time, spark ideas, and create content that still feels deeply human. We explore why so many creators feel overwhelmed by AI, how to overcome the fear of "doing it wrong," and the step-by-step method for training any AI tool to understand your voice, your niche, and your goals.
I also dig into the real questions that content creators and therapists have been asking: Where do I even start? How do I train AI using my reels? How do I prevent it from sounding robotic? How do you scale your impact as a therapist without sacrificing motherhood, alignment, or joy? In this episode, I'm sitting down with Carly Costello — known as EMDR with Carly — to go behind the scenes of how she built multiple revenue streams while staying committed to her values as a mother. We dig into her journey of growing a thriving insurance-based group practice in West Virginia, expanding into EMDR consultation online, and building a niche Instagram audience that deeply trusts her expertise. We talk about the mindset shifts that helped her go from full time solo therapist to a CEO with five therapists on her team and a global reach through her consulting offers.
We also explore how she strategically uses Instagram — not for viral fame, but for genuine connection — and how networking, simple visibility, and slow growth led her to sell out her first EMDR consultation cohorts for both therapists seeking certification and consultants-in-training. Carly gets real about expanding her vision while expanding her family (yes, she bought her office building while having a newborn!), navigating mom guilt, and trusting that building the business now will create more freedom for her daughter later.

In today's episode, I sit down and talk about the productivity hack that will literally change your life and business. There is one common denominator I've learned from the high-level, multi-7-figure female therapists I've interviewed on this show and no one is talking about it. But now, you have the details. I discuss: * Identifying what is holding you back from moving the needle forward in your business. * Why productivity for female entrepreneurs needs to be addressed differently than our male counterparts. * How I want you to look at your time and energy starting this week.
Sign up for the Productivity in Private Practice Summer Intensive today. This Summer Intensive is for rookie practices to the group practice owner managing a team of 30 and every private practice owner in between. It addresses time and energy management, and no matter where you are on your practice-building journey, if you don't nail this you won't grow in the way you were meant to. See you inside!

I forgot to run payroll, I created and tried to run a workshop that no one signed up for and other mistakes and 'failures' I've made in business. I hope this helps you to feel less shame around a recent failure or mistake, because they are necessary to grow. You will learn * How to build resilency around making mistakes as an entrepreneur. * The importance of not allowing hypothetical mistakes or failures stop you from trying. * And creating a good mindset that allows for mistakes and failures in your practice.
