In this episode, Lisa dives into one of the biggest misconceptions about menstrual cycle healing: the idea that you just need more information.
Drawing from years of coaching individuals and groups, she shares why real change happens when you move from simply knowing about your cycle to actually embodying the skills that support it.
Lisa introduces her 7 Menstrual Cycle Mastery Skills, the foundation of her new programme Menstrual Cycle Mastery, and explains how these practices help you shift from surviving in spite of your cycle to thriving with it.
She also talks about why she chose the word “mastery,” and how it reframes the cycle from something we’re taught to endure into something we can skillfully work with to reduce symptoms, pain, and overwhelm.
You’ll also hear a personal update on her engagement and early wedding planning adventures—because life and cycle awareness always weave together!
In this episode:
The biggest mistake we make when trying to heal the menstrual cycle
* Why information alone isn’t enough
* What “embodying” your cycle actually means
* Lisa's 7 Menstrual Cycle Mastery Skills
* Why Lisa created her new programme, Menstrual Cycle Mastery*
* How these skills support regulation, symptom reduction, and deeper self-understanding
* A quick update on Lisa’s engagement + wedding planning

In this episode, Lisa chats through what it means to suppress positive emotions such as love, joy, excitement, and gratitude.
In the wellness and healing space, we often hear about what happens when we suppress difficult emotions such as fear or anger, and the impact that has on our nervous system and experience of chronic pain.
But today, Lisa discusses how the same is true for suppressing more positive feelings.
Positive feelings can also be overwhelming and there is a vulnerability in experiencing them. She shares with you ways that you can embody the somatic intensity, and how to hold curiosity and compassion for yourself in this piece of personal process work.

On today's episode I talk about overwhelm and burnout when things get busy. As we shift into the autumnal energy we may feel a higher tendency towards overwhelm, and we may even be unconsciously contributing to our own burnout. I'll share some ideas about how to think creatively in order to manage the busyness from a place of more ease and less stress.
Tips for managing busyness: Invite in more ease - When you have a lot on your plate ask yourself, "how can I make this easier for myself?" * Take things off your list - Make a list of what you're trying to achieve and strike out the things that don't need to happen today or tomorrow (this includes appointments and social commitments) * Step back and prioritize your own needs - Give yourself space from things when you feel the need * Ask for help - Make use of your community and ask for help or advice wherever you may need it * Try artificial intelligence - Chat GPT can be used to make your life easier in a variety of ways * Relieve pressure - Check in with yourself about what you're available for and ask yourself, "what is not required of me?" * Assess your own standards - Bring awareness to your own standards, reject societal expectations and don't compare yourself to others * Embrace the mess - Whether it's your home, your workspace, a relationship...allow some space for messiness * Less is more - Try to avoid reinventing the wheel * You can choose* - Decide to have a calm moment, or even a calm day! Learn how to build calm energy for yourself.

In today's episode I talk about a big piece of the work I do with women and people with menstrual cycles, which is learning to regulate your nervous system through life's ups and downs. This topic is important because the reality is that life is always going to have high and low points and while we can't control what happens, I believe we can learn to navigate these challenges from a regulated place. If you struggle to stay regulated through life's difficult moments, I encourage you to have a listen.
Here's what I cover:* The loss of Sinead O'Connor * A quick cycle check-in * A funny personal anecdote * What regulation means * The social-cultural "soup" we live in and how to care for ourselves and hold our boundaries within it * Practical tips for when you're wanting to improve your ability to navigate life's ups and downs from a more regulated place (see the list below) * Finding pockets of joy and tapping into your own humanity
PRACTICAL TIPS1. Get support 2. Have practices in place to support your mind and body 3. Pause and check in with yourself 4. Be aware of any pressures or expectations you're putting on yourself 5. Human being, human feelings 6. Find the next best feeling 7. Climb your polyvagal/nervous system ladder 8. Self trust 9. Know your needs and know what helps 10. Lean into spirituality and trusting something greater for yourself

In this episode as part of the Cyclical Business Series, I chat with you about the different ways that you can "receive" in business that are not financial.
At the beginning of starting a business or coaching practice, we invest a lot of time and energy into marketing, giving things away for free, planning the business, setting things up. After a while, this can become exhausting especially if you feel you are not receiving anything in return.
Reciprocity is so important in business. It allows your nervous system to receive energy and allows us to build, over time, a strong and secure attachment with our business, our audience, and our customers.
Tune in to hear more about building reciprocity into your business model, and how you can receive more energy in return for the great work you are doing.

In this episode, I reflect on and discuss the feeling of disillusion that often comes when things don't work for you on your healing journey.
Feeling hopeful about healing our health issue is a great first step on the path, but when we try lots of things and they don't work, we end up exhausted, hopeless, and disappointed. What do we do then? Do we give up? Do we keep trying?
The steps I discussed with this process:
1. Feelings: allow for the feelings to be present with some space. Feeling is healing!
2. Meaning making: enquire what meaning we are making from the disillusion. What narrative are we making?
3. Blind spots: do you feel there is something you are missing? Do you get a sense that there could be a block in the unconscious field or in the ancestral field?
4. Nervous system: how has your nervous system been in the journey of healing and recovery?
5. Beliefs: do you believe that you can recover or have ease and peace in your body? What believes do you have? What is your truth?
6. Loyalties/benefits: what or who could your chronic pain be serving?
7. Personal growth: what personal development and growth lessons have you acquired along your journey e.g. boundaries in relationships
8. Mindset & Expectations: Some reflection questions might be – can I go easier on myself? What have my expectations been? What works? What doesn't work? Can I let that go? What do I not like or not want?
9. Well-enoughness: what is your well-enoughness place in the reality and context of your life?
10. Safety with emotions: what other emotions need processing and safety to process?
Take what you like and leave the rest!

I regularly get asked about the pill. People wonder whether they should go on the pill, come off the pill, etc. I often hear from people who have been around the block to different medical professionals and holistic health practitioners, and are now back wondering if they should on the pill. In this episode I discuss this question from a trauma-informed, systemic, and inclusive perspective. I support you in staying in your agency, staying informed, staying connected to yourself so that you can make the best decision for your quality of life.
This episode is especially for anyone who is considering going on the pill to support them with any menstrual related suffering e.g.:

In this episode I reflect on what celebrating ourselves can look like and why it's so important to do.
Last week during a supervision session for my work, I realised how important and helpful it is to celebrate how far we've come.
Tune in to hear my story!

In this episode I chat about something that is not talked about much in the wellness and trauma space – the healthy fight/flight response. There is so much focus on calming, soothing, and down-regulating the nervous system, but it's also really important to have safe access to our healthy fight/flight energy.
In this conversation I discuss:

In this episode, we chat about what "regulation" means exactly when it comes to your nervous system, and how to have more of it in your body and emotional life.
When we have more access to the rest and digest, or the ventral vagal part of the nervous system, we are able to regulate ourselves more frequently. So, regulating the nervous system is about working on our capacity with difficult feelings and experiences. And then knowing how to come back to feeling settled in rest and digest again.

In this episode I explore the concepts of the Inner Wise Woman, the Cailleach, and the Jaguar as they pertain to Celtic and Shamanic wisdom traditions.
In the Celtic wheel, which celebrates the different festivals around the seasons of the year, you meet your Inner Wise Woman energy in the dark time between Halloween (Samhain) and the Winter Solstice.
From a psychosomatic perspective, this Cailleach energy is the part of us and the part of life that is associated with: the dark, the unknown, uncertainty, letting go and surrender, death, the shadow self, fear, courage, trust, disruption, and chaos.
But this energy is also associated with transformation and the void space giving way to new life and new beginnings once we courageously meet it and move through it.
Listen to this episode and you will learn how to come into relationship with your inner Cailleach or Jaguar in a more safe and trusting way.

I explore the different power dynamics that show up in the world: * Power over * Power under * Power with * Power within
Reflective questions from the episode: 1. How do you feel your power in your body? 2. How do you experience your power in life? 3. How does it show up in your nervous system? 4. How does it show up in your menstrual cycle? 5. What supports do you need to access your internal power? 6. What people inspire you with their power? 7. In this episode I speak to the power and magic of getting support in your life. There are so many ways we can access support. And even though it might not seem like an exciting topic, there is true alchemy when we lean into support.
I speak about the different ways I receive support in my life, why I choose to do that and how it benefits me. It benefits me with my personal life, my relationships, my health, my work, and my business.
Because we live in quite an individualistic society with a huge focus on "self-help," it might seem weak or like wasting time to lean into support. But in actual fact, the right supports open up huge amounts of creativity, possibility, and results!

This week I have found myself quite busy in my inner spring of the menstrual cycle. I would love to share with you live in this episode a simple guided grounding exercise that you can practice anytime and anywhere.
This grounding exercise is a nervous system regulation practice called, 'orienting.' It comes from Somatic Experiencing which is a trauma body-based therapy that I am currently training in.
Our nervous system is always scanning the environment for cues of safety and danger. In this episode I guide a grounding meditation to support your nervous system to ground and come into the here and now.
This is a perfect practice for you if you are feeling overwhelmed, stressed, or anxious. It is also perfect for period pain, pms, or PMDD.

I was asked by a client in a group I was facilitating recently what she should do when she gets emotionally triggered.
We had been doing work on Menstrual Cycle Awareness and nervous system regulation together. It was a great question.
This week's podcast is inspired by this question. I do my best to answer this from my point of view.
We discuss what happens in our body when we get triggered, the times we are more vulnerable to being triggered, why we can get triggered, and how to move through and away from the emotional trigger.
Here are the coaching questions from the episode that you can use at home:
Name the emotion
What is this emotion communicating to me?
What is not ok with me and why?
What boundary has been crossed?
Has a boundary I didn't know I had been crossed?
Look at the situation: is your emotional trigger justified?
What uncommunicated expectation am I holding here?
What have I not communicated?
What assumptions have I made?
What clients do I need to get?

How can we make the most of our self-development, healing, and recovery work?
How can we take the benefits away with us after coaching or therapy sessions?
Sometimes it feels so great to be in the session with your coach or therapist, but how can we take the benefits away with us?
Integration is the answer!
Integration time after we do inner work, or after changes in our lives in general, is powerful and therapeutic.

Join us for the 4-part series on the inner critic in our healing and recovery journey. In this episode, we discuss the 4th stage in the process, which is to integrate our own inner critic.
In this episode, we explore how the inner critic is not always there to harm us, but that it can become a big part of our intuition and our inner compass. We just need to learn how to integrate it, understand it, and put it in the right place in our lives.
This is the most powerful stage in the process and when you learn how to do this, you will experience a lot of personal power and inner freedom!

Join us for the four-part series on the inner critic in our healing and recovery journey. In this episode, we discuss the third stage in the process, which is to befriend our own inner critic.
In the first episode we got clear on how our inner critic was showing up. Then in the second episode of the series we set boundaries with the inner critic and work on self-compassion. In this episode, we begin to welcome the critic back in and see what it has to say.
The three key words for befriending the critic are: allow, converse, listen, and reason.
The self-coaching questions for the at home exercise are:
What does this inner critic have to say?
What is it keeping me safe from?
What is it pushing me towards and why?
What is it holding high standards about and why?
It cares about something. What is that?
What is it wanting from me?
What is it ambitious about for me?

Join us for the four-part series on the inner critic in our healing and recovery journey. Many of us have a strong inner critic that prevents us from living the lives we want to live. In this series, we take steps to get to know our critic and heal our critic once and for all!
In this first episode, we get really clear on the different ways our inner critic shows up and impacts our life. Once we know how to name the critic and give it its place, then we can understand more clearly where it comes from.

How do we practice Menstrual Cycle Awareness or live cyclically when we don't have a cycle or when our cycle is irregular? In this episode, I am joined by my peer and friend, Kate Codrington to discuss just this. Kate specialises in the journey of menopause and is the author of the book Second Spring: the self-care guide to menopause. This episode is perfect for anyone who has learned about menstrual cycle awareness and the inner seasons but who has a different experience of their cycle in their embodied reality.
Perhaps you have an irregular cycle, or you are on the pill, you might be navigating a pregnancy journey, , or even illness.
There are so many reasons why a cycle may not be present or regular.
Not having a regular cycle, does not mean we can't tap into the inner seasons and work with other forms of cyclicality in our lives.

Pre-Menstrual Dysphoric Disorder or PMDD affects 1 in 20 women worldwide. It is a mental health condition that is linked to female sex hormones and the menstrual cycle. In this episode, we discuss in detail what PMDD is, PMDD causes, and natural treatment options for PMDD.
PMDD can have a huge impact on a woman's mental health and very often the people who experience it have depression, anxiety and suicidal ideation. There is hope however! And what is required is a holistic and integrative approach to recovery.
As a women's health coach, I have worked with many people and groups have have different experiences of PMDD. In this episode I offer you my professional perspective and the approach I take when supporting people to recover from PMDD.
Trauma is also a huge missing part in PMDD healing, which is something I also integrate into my coaching practice.
Key takeaway from the episode: "How can I create hope for myself in the darkness?"

In this episode I share with you some reflections and coaching guidance on our relationship with commitment, why it's hard, and how to improve our ability to commit to something or someone.
We live in a world that is full of options – a new diet to try, a new healthcare practice, a new approach, a new podcast, book, coach, therapist, relationship, etc. Alternatives are always available which creates hope and excitement.
However, can we really build something great and get results if we are constantly in search of the high of options and alternatives?
Commitment requires a choice, dedication, focus, and an ability to stay with uncomfortable feelings such as boredom, fear, anxiety, and ambivalence.
If you are ready to uplevel your life and take your healing and recovery journey to the next level, commitment is required. I can help you with that!

In this episode I share with you my top 7 tips for soothing pain. These can be used for period pain, PMS or PMDD pain, endometriosis pain, ovulation pain, or any other chronic pain such as fibromyalgia or an unexplained pain condition you have.
Pain is both an emotional and a physical experience that causes a lot of suffering for many people. Pain can come with stress, anxiety, grief, or fear of the pain itself.
However there is a lot we can do to both prevent pain and to down-regulate the nervous system to support our body in coming out of pain or to take the edge off the experience.
My top tips include an in-depth discussion on painkillers, very specific breathing exercises for pain, mantras, suggestions for movement and exercises, herbs, nervous system regulation tools and tips for supporting our emotions.
Have a go and let me know what you think!

In this episode we explore the difference between two important words in feminism: Sexism v Misogyny. It is important to understand the difference and how to use these words so we can empower ourselves in our understanding of what harm is being done in a situation involving either.
These two terms can be confused, which often then gets criticised or can result in the words losing their power.
When we understand the difference between sexism and misogyny, we then understand how to navigate these invisible forces, how to point them out, how to empower ourselves and others.
These two definitions are also important in understanding what is happening in the world with regard to abortion rights.
I reference in this episode the works of Kate Manne and Caroline Criado-Perez.
I also give examples from my own life of sexism and misogyny.
I give some tips on how to be involved in your own activism or feminist work in a way that doesn't exhaust you.

In this episode we discuss the common reality of being afraid of your own feelings and thoughts. We talk about why it happens and what you can do to bring down the fear inside your body and mind.
Being afraid of your own feelings and thoughts is very normal but it creates a lot of tension and anxiety in the nervous system. When we resist dark feelings and thoughts, they can get stronger and then the fear can increase.
I work with many women who struggle with PMS, endometriosis and PMDD, and many of them often have suicidal thoughts. When we create some safety with these thoughts and feelings, they begin to soften and our capacity to be with them grows.
I also share in this episode my own personal experience of navigating dark feelings and thoughts with lots of practical tips and tricks I have picked up along the way.

Many of us struggle with procrastination weekly, especially with the things that really matter to us, such as our creative dreams and our careers. It can be debilitating and can prevent us from achieving our true potential.
When it comes to overcoming procrastination, we have been taught and socialised to push through, to try new mindset strategies or build new habits. However, after some time, procrastination sneaks back into our life and we are back at square one.
So what then?
In this episode, I share a whole different perspective and solution that is rooted in an understanding of your nervous system and what is happening in the body. I offer coaching questions and suggestions for you to overcome procrastination in a way that will change your understanding entirely.
