Hi my loves!

It's our 100th episode here on This Life's the Pitts

With that I have looked back on our journey of growth- for me both personally and professionally- here are my take aways:

  1. Decisions (which can be followed by a feeling that come and go)- we HAVE to make a choice, sitting in purgatory will destroy you- decide and then pivot and make a new choice as needs arise.

  2. Belief- believing in yourself is a key element to growth

  3. Listen- listen to your inner calling, lean to listen to your highest self

  4. Time- spending time with the RIGHT people is imperative to the decisions, belief in yourself and your ability to listen to your inner calling

  5. Surrender- letting go of the things that are no longer serving you

These things led me to the process of how I live my life and support my clients

-Visualization

-Intention

-Acton

manifesting what we want and then taking massive action on the intetion behind it is guaranteed success every time.

thank you for being here with me these last couple years!

Let's go set the world on fire!

slow down. get to know yourself. who do you want to be?

In order to become her, you have to get to know who she is now...

Learning who you are requires commitment to getting to know you. It requires dedication to the relationship with yourself and it takes time, just like any other relationship…

slow down.

When we slow down… so does time.

it allows us to evaluate who we are, what we want and our next best step.

Theres an illusion that moving fast means we are getting things done

When we allow for time and space we allow for growth and deeper sense of self

Slow down

Guys, I can't begin to explain what an amazing human being Emily is.

It has been a pleasure to connect with her and an honor to have her on my podcast.

To say that her work on this earth is going to touch so many humans is beyond words.

Her knowledge of diabetes, her healing comfort, remarkable heart and determination is incomprehensible and unbelievable.

Emily has been through more traumatic experiences than most people could imagine in her life and has lived to tell all of it.

I will let her share, but I am so proud of who she has become despite all that she has endured.

She is momma bear, a wife, a remarkably caring daughter and friend.

I can't wait to watch Emily grow in her work, her book will be coming out soon and don't worry we will have her on the show again as she has so much more to share.

What you look for you will find. There is a part of a brain that will automatically fill in the blanks of things that don't make sense; it is looking to complete a picture, almost like a puzzle. This very piece of the brain also is important for arousal, motivation and conscious awareness. This is called the RAS (Reticular Activating System). This is the part of the brain that is responsible for assisting us in completing a goal as when we set a goal, it keeps looking for it. One way to move to the goal quicker and collapse time is to INTENTIONALLY active the RAS, we can do this by vision casting. Listen as we dive in to how this looks and suggestions on how to do this that I have learned and lean in to regularly to meet goals, dreams and desires! Can't wait to see what unfolds for you<3 e

Grief sucks. There's really no way about it.

Shock-denial-anger-depression-acceptance, and these stages are not linear y'all.

During the holiday season grief compounds and can really exemplifies any other struggles we are going through.

Strategies:

-Give yourself AND your loved ones grace: its NORMAL to cry, yell, go in to action, clean, sleep, laugh... its.all.normal.

-Remember and Honor the loved ones: find a way to build a new tradition that honors your loved one(s)

-It is OK to step away and be alone, but being sure you have someone there. Lean in to family/friends- they love you and even if they have NO idea how to help, let them however they can.

-understand you and your families baseline: understanding the symptoms of anxiety, ADHD, depression, other chronic mental health or medical issues. These can and WILL be exemplified during the grieving process and often people with these symptoms struggle to self regulate at baseline and will need more time to process simple tasks. Understand this and be aware.

-substances are NOT the answer. dulling the pain by drinking or otherwise will only delay the healing process. I am not saying you CAN'T or SHOULDN'T but I am saying to be very aware of what you are consuming and how your central nervous system will respond differently while using any substances.

The healing and grieving process can be long and a forever process; but it can be something we adopt in to your life and become aware of.

On this episode of QPS, we unpack what the four core areas are of our life and how what we have created as belief systems can impact how we show up for ourselves and others

I refer to belief systems as B.S. and sometimes what happens is we have created our own belief systems based on someone else's BS.... ;)

Often as we mature and age, we encounter situations that will challenge an existing belief system, usually causing some internal dysregulation and this will usually have a domino effect of massive discomfort.

This is not wrong, in fact it actually often means incredible growth.

We talk about what this means, how we can work through this and create new systems that will serve us.

Don't be afraid to challenge your thoughts and your B.S. We are always changing and evolving, its in our DNA.

As always, I love you and go light the world on fire!

Having some anxiety for the holiday season? Here’s some reminders on how to protect your peace

Boundaries- setting boundaries is KEY. Communicate your needs and limits to those you love. It is OK to say no and to decline invitations that make you feel uneasy or set a limit on leaving early if needed. Protect your peace

Self care- move your body. journal. Drink the stupid water. Do the things that BRING YOU JOY for YOU. You can not be well to anyone if you are taking care of yourself so take some time to prioritize yourself even before the holiday begins. Protect your peace.

Gratitude- I know I know it’s Thanksgiving, but for real just sit with yourself for a few minutes and jot out what you’re grateful for. This will ground you. Protect your peace.

Check in- reach out to those who you know will be there for you with out judgement and do a quick mental status check in- a quick mentiB as I like to say. Protect your peace.

Remember, you might be anxious but you are able.

On this episode I jump in to the idea of imposter syndrome and how fear can show up and take over our ability to move through challenges and keep us from evolving in to who we are mean to be.

Understanding your imposter syndrome and how things you can do to mitigate the symptoms is half the battle.

One of the main things we can do to combat this is to visualize what success and happiness mean to you. When we have a clear vision of what that looks like, we can work towards this and not allow the fear to hold us back from achieving it because it has NOTHING to do with what other people define it as, but rather WHO we define ourself to be when happy.

Thank you for being here to dive in to this topic with me today and always go set the world on fire!

Today on the Pitt Stop we dive in to emotional intelligence and how this plays a part in how we set and hold boundaries.

In order to master our boundaries we have to build and strengthen our emotional intelligence.

There are some simple strategies to this however none of this is easy; it takes practice and consistency.

Consistency isn't sexy y'all, but keep working on it, over time strengthening that mental muscle you will build an emotional intelligence you never knew you had.

As a therapeutic coach I pride myself on being able to bring to the table the psychology behind mental health and the energetics behind mental fitness.

First and foremost knowing what you need is important; do you need to stabilize or are you ready for growth?

Therapy= Mental Health

Coaching= Mental Fitness

When looking for the right fit for you, here are the 3 main things to consider:

  1. What is the therapist/coach's background (credentials, experience, education, knowledge)

  2. How do I feel when engaging with them?

  3. Do they embody what they teach/coach/support?

be sure to ask questions, understand yourself, know what you need and don't settle.

Hang with us Social Work gals as we chat about big life transitions and audacious dreams.

Jill and I have known each other since our wild and crazy college days and over the years of becoming clinical social workers while having babies we continue to root for each other.

Jill walks us through her journey of motherhood and self discovery of who she wanted to be in this world.

A new renowned dream and goal emerged as she went through the process and struggle of getting pregnant and having babies. Jill realized there is not enough support through this journey of motherhood, and decided she will create that!

Jill is now devoted to creating a community and safe place for women through all parts of the motherhood journey to feel supported and guided to build their own foundation to create a beautiful life for themselves

On today's QPS, I dive in to the idea of other people's opinions and how those often stunt our growth and willingness to take a leap and change.

We discuss that we WILL suck at things we do for the first time, if we can just get over that hump, allow ourself to suck and fail we will be stronger when we get back up and do it again, knowing we won't die!

We can change! We don't have to stay the same.

We often fear the change because of two things; one we are going to most likely suck at it at first because its new and two others will see us suck at it

ESPECIALLY those who know us

We will be judged by others for changing and you’ll be judged by yourself for not so we might as well do it anyway

Id rather judge myself and be proud in the pursuit of who I am becoming than allow others to stunt my growth and judge me anyway.

Create yourself. One step at a time. When we can get excited about this journey and not fear it, that's where the magic happens.

So often we hear in the coaching industry and in the therapy field say "do the work.." what does that even mean?! It means dive in, get a deeper sense of self and identify what brings you joy to develop really great self care systems that will eventually lead you to self love. There is a difference, consistency in self care, allows you to develop a self love that can not be broken. If you find yourself struggle to identify these patterns of self care, and not sure where to start; struggling with symptoms of lack of self worth, anxiety, worry and fear you may need to look in to therapeutic support. If you are clear on what works well, have some sense of self-care elements but struggle to develop a solid foundation of consistency, look in to hiring a coach to support you with this personally, professionally or both. Who you are in one snapshot of time is NOT what defines you.  Who you were 10 years ago, 5 years ago, 6 months ago, or even yesterday does NOT define you.  YOU get to define who you are and who you want to be.

This episode has been along time coming. I had this dream years ago to have a podcast where I interview my closest people, my inner circle, my core - those who have influenced me and know me intimately.  Their presence is what has built me and I want to share that with the world. Introducing, my next mini series, OH FOR THE LOVE. LET'S GO!

I have lived with Anxiety for as long as I can remember

It is something I have learned how to cope with and professional it has put me through the ringer, however, I am in this for LIFE and therefore have really taken time to evaluate what works and what doesn't.

here are some things that have been proven to work especially with in my biz:

  1. GRATITUDE- journal out your gratitude DAILY

  2. Financial Fridays- I used to spend so much time obsessing over finances, sometimes I default to this behavior. I find having one day a week where I spend a few minutes looking at my finances, paying bills and taking time to evaluate and set up our account for the week to come has helped me navigate that anxity

  3. A BOMB ASS CALENDAR- blocking off time for CEO duties. Taking a day and setting aside 3-5 hours of creating content, navigating my week and setting myself up for success has been a GAME CHANGER

4 . yup- the bomb ass calendar again but for YOU- being sure to do this same activity as number 3 with YOURSELF. set aside/block off time for you- at LEAST 30 per day, and at least once a week a full hour of doing something for you. (on top of the 30 min a day) and then quarterly something big and yearly something HUGE! plan this out- dreams and block off the time!

  1. MOVE- move your damn body (with in reason). walk, run, stretch, yoga, lift, meditate- DO THE THING. move. this releases chemicals in your body that SIGNIFICANTLY help anxiety (and depression, amongst other things). ITS A MUST. DAILY- this could look like stretching on your living floor, running a marathon, doing some meditation or lifting heavy. Whatever it is for you- do it!

Remember- I believe in you- now go set the world on Fire!

This past year has given me SO much joy, also incredibly painful losses and life lessons.

✨People will judge you, even when you have wonderful intentions.

✨Information does not equal transformation.

✨Change can be excruciatingly painful

✨Everything is temporary

As we navigate this new year, know that evolution is inevitable.

It is in the resistance of this that creates pain.

So,

Live in the moment.

Embrace the suck.

Relish in the joy.

Prepare for both.

Looking to come in to my world and learn how to transform, The Alchemist is my signature course and provides tangible tools on the process transforming in to who you’re meant to be.

Now is the perfect time to join.

HAPPY NEW YEAR! This is the year of intention. I can feel the momentum and amazing things that are in store for this year. I am blown away and beyond excited for what’s to come. This year my focus is to be intentional in all I do. 3 things for you to do this first week of the year: 1.set your intention. 2. Review & ramp up your calendar (what can we take with us, what is no longer serving us). 3. Plan/set goals Cheers to all you have done in 2022 and all to come for you in 2023!

Where will you be in 10 years?! Right now, in this very moment, 10 years from this time... where will you be?!

I have NO idea, but I can work towards where I WANT to be, and that is with all the memories , good, bad and ugly that led me to the moment.  I will forever be grateful for being in the moment and soaking in ALL that is good in this world....

Where we are in 10 years, starts with what we do RIGHT NOW.  In this moment.  Stop holding back and go make it happen.

This episode is in direct response to an episode hosted by Rachel Hollis- she was interviewing Ben Hardy and they speak to the 80-20 principal with a twist. (Rachel Hollis podcast episode 313: How to become your FUTURE self faster)

The idea of 80-20 principal is that 80% of results come from 20% of the effort we put in. So basically 80% of our income in our biz is from 20% of our clients, of our service or our product.

example: 80% of our sleep quality occurs in only 20% of our actual sleep (REM), 80% of our behavior comes from 20% of our thoughts (probably even less than that- our conscious awareness). Socially-, who are you spending the most time with? Is 20% of your time being spent with those that bring you joy? what would your world look like if you spent 80% of your time with people that lift you up, how much more badass would you be!?

What Ben was explaining is that in order to live in to a new version of us, we have to release or shed a percentage of our current self. If you want to change just a little, we shed 20% of our habits and evolve 2X. If we want to 10X our life, make DRASTIC change, then we would need to shed 80% of our current identity, only keeping 10-20% of who we are. This is so mind blowing and woo but also SO SO energetically aligned.

So... WHAT in your life could you shed, could you let go of and what do you ABSOLUTELY need to hang on to to make drastic change?

current identity vs. future self. who are you now and who are you becoming. ahhhh so good.

thanks for being here. thanks for staying crazy and woo with me.

So much has changed and yet so much stays the same...  We all have a past, some things we would care not to admit to or take ownership of, but what if that past motivated you to dive deeper in to yourself and discover that this very thing is why you're here!  To spend your life supporting others in finding their strength physically but more importantly emotionally and spiritually.   This is exactly what DJ is doing through both physical fitness training but has expanded his skill set in meditation and spiritual mindfulness.  DJ has been mastering his meditation as a daily practice (consistency is key).  This journey has led him to land several roles as a fitness trainer, but has opened doors for him to provide mindfulness and meditation to others.  He has led people to self discovery and healing through his own journey of healing. walking the walk and talking the talk.  In the last handful of months, as DJ continues his fitness training role he discovered this can not be maintained with out a consistent mindset and his grounding practice in meditation allows him to center with such flow that those around him organically find themself learning this just by being in his space.   looking for more?  looking for ways to tap in to your deeper sense of self, reach out for a consult with DJ, you can connect with him via social on instagram as dj_capp or on Facebook as Daniel Cappiello - or give him a follow and like to be inspired by his positive vibes!  Listen as DJ's confidence and improved skills pour out of him as he talks through his passion for heal thing others through himself.

How does time move so fast and yet we can't wait for the next level?!

The duality of life is something I have tapped in to full throttle this year and it has been AMAZING and INSANE all at once

This week I lay out the last year in review of my professional journey, dive in to the emotional roller coaster it started off but when surrendering to that I am IN THIS FOR LIFE the timeline doesn't matter mentally has opened up new doors for me and pathways to navigate

This year has been the BEST year of my life.  It has taught me to trust in myself, allow myself to be vulnerable and surrender to the energy that I GET to serve AND be compensated.

If you or someone you know is interested in learning more, or being a part of my world on a deeper level please feel free to reach out:

This episode of Quick Pitt Stop is about random thoughts from the past couple weeks around explaining babies being born to my (almost) 10 year old, how not being for everyone is OK and when people say "you've changed" I say, good lord I HOPE SO

The balancing act of life - what do we hold and what do we let drop. choose wisely but also dont let that ruin your fun.  Ebbs and flow in life...

On this weeks episode I am embracing all things summer and DIY.  I stripped and refinished end tables we have had in storage for years.  I mowed the lawn twice this week... I feel like an frekin rockstar - all the kids are over and eating all the snacks and playing with pool toys outside the pool in unconventional ways and I'm not even mad about it

Also- why the F won't they stop touching themselves... its a little ridiculous

lastly- in my geeked out psych world, talking about how we can get to the same place differently is huge- we can never UNLEARN anything but we can RELEARN or learn something NEW!  for example, 3+3=6 was all you knew until you learned that 4+2 ALSO= 6...even 2+2+2=6 even an extra step sometimes is needed... helping clients realize that we can never unlearn but we can relearn and if we can relearn addition we can  learn ANYTHING.  We can ALWAYS add to current state of mind and look at life different with fresh perspective and new gratitude for learning something new, even when it doesn't align with our established beliefs. This is hard, like REALLY hard, but holding space for my clients to process this in real time is my life's work and I couldn't be more all in on it.

On this week's episode series of PITT STOP please let me allow myself to express that we are wrapping up this school year and IDK but anyone else but I'm losing my god dang mind.  Keeping up with all the things is just ludicrous making me want to run away somewhere but I just put on some gangster rap and dance it out while my kids look at me like I have 10 heads and roll their eyes- whatev.

Right now, baseball, golf, football, all.the.balls and all the things.  Fundraising and running them to and from their activities- We are so close to school ending I can taste it

Really though- just slow down!  We need to embrace it. Slow down daily, whether that looks like meditating, breath work or taking 2 min to be present, SLOW THE F DOWN or the universe will make it happen for you, hello strained/torn quad muscle

Listen as I give a couple tangible things to help slow down your pace and be present even or a few min to center yourself back in to the day.

Laura Evens and I have known each other in our high school years! Ya know, when we thought we had it all figured out- boy were we wrong!  I can say for certain that BOTH of us had a calling to do this work, even in our younger days.  We both were free spirits, marching to your own tune, dancing to our own beat.  In the long run we followed that calling.  Our journey's are drastically different, yet so many parallels.  Laura's journey is inspiring.  She has soft therapeutic nature, yet go getter fire mentality.  Tune in as we talk about how her journey of healing, led to healing others and then to her break down in the most inopportune of times allowed her to pursue her purpose.
