We live in a day and age where everyone's "best self" is portrayed in the public eye (aka your image). Your character is who you actually are. What you do/how you act/what you think about when no one else is around is your character. Is your character one that is after God's heart? Loving our enemies is not natural. If we are being honest, most of us, like Jonah, deal with intolerance, legalism & self-righteousness towards our enemies instead. What if we truly believed God is for our enemies? He wants to bring them back into a relationship with him just as much as he wants a relationship with us.

Stories like Moses and the burning bush are stories we once saw as children’s lullabies. For some of us they have become numb, and to others, they are confusing and don't know why they really matter to us. Although, if we sit in the power of the story, it maintains so much significance, teaching us about the power and love of God. The story of Moses and his encounter with God teaches us that God is with us!

At first glance, boundaries don't seem like a gift, but something being kept from us. What if we realized boundaries were a gift? What if we stopped trying to be children of God on our own terms, and surrendered to Jesus as our giver of life?
The garden (working - tilling & keeping) is a gift and one of the ways order is brought into chaos on the earth. The girl is a gift and a way order comes into chaos, helping us understand how "not good" it is to be alone and the strength and beauty of complementarity.
How should we think about the beginning? The beginning teaches us about who God is and who God created us to be. It teaches us our posture as image bearers of God. It's important we think about the beginning well, because it affects how we read the rest of scripture and how we live.
What Jesus knew was a victory, Peter saw as a defeat. Jesus gave Peter great responsibility, but he thought he knew better than God and quickly became a stumbling block instead of a source of stability. When we, as humans, think we know better than God, we must be quick to confess. Sometimes victory doesn't look like what we'd imagine. Therefore, we aren't called to control how we think things should go, but to be faithful witnesses to the Messiah.
Workism has been named the religion of millennials. Young adults in our country work more than ever before, taking fewer vacations than ever before. Our temptation is to find our purpose in our work. But as followers of Jesus, our purpose is not something to be found, it is assigned.
There's a temptation to walk through this life as a passenger, instead of a driver. Although, we are made in the image of God, which means we have responsibility here on earth. How are we caring for the spaces we have been given? Where in your workplace, classroom, or neighborhood, can you take responsibility and bring God's goodness?
Greed is a sin mentioned over and over again throughout scripture. It is a temptation so easy to fall into, but we have a choice to make. Are we going to live luxuriously here on earth, or are we going to follow after the self-giving generosity of Jesus, so that we can live luxuriously in eternity with him?
What do we think of when we think of security? If we are being honest, our answers probably all pointed back to money. This only breeds a life of anxiety. Our security and trust should be in God, who will always abundantly provide for his children.
You are not free to do whatever you want with your body because God is for your body, not because God is against it.
