Apple Dumplings
2 lg. Granny Smith Apples
2 pkgs. Crescent rolls(refrigerator)
2 sticks butter, melted
¾ to 1 ½ c. sugar or Splenda
½ to 1 tsp. cinnamon
1 can Mountain Dew
Ice Cream, opt.
Peel apples, core and cut into 8 equal sections. Lay 1 piece of apple across the wide end of each crescent roll and roll up as usual. Place in a 9 x 13-inch buttered baking dish. Combine sugar(or Splenda) and cinnamon and add to butter. Pour over rolls. Pour a can of Mountain Dew (or Diet Sprite) over rolls. Bake at 350degrees for 45 minutes. Use a foil tent during the last part of baking to prevent over browning. When fork inserted into an apple has no resistance, it is done. Serve hot if possible, topped with ice cream.
Brad and Drew talk treating yourself at campouts at all ages. Play a game to see if we can guess how a gourmet s'more is made. Then work out if s'more hacks are all they are cracked up to be.
Justin tells Drew about how this treat reminds him of good times as a child visiting his Grandfather. We discuss treating ourselves at the pool, and play a game about the best treats for, well, games.
Drew's Dad David diligently discusses and describes the delectable darlings from his youth and they determine which Penny Candies are perfect for different duties.
Jessie helps Drew get to the "heart" of her love for watermelon and play a game about how a Playwright treats themselves when necessary!
