This week we did a recommendation from friend of the stream and podcast Nari! This anime has a good mix of comedy, a little romance, and amazing art. The visuals in this anime, whether the scenes or even the art the characters themselves are creating, are very well done. Artsy has a pretty good comparison of art styles and this anime! I know this is a pivot from the original Gachiakuta Part 1 but the topic of communication came up SO much on stream, in talks with friends and family this week taht i wanted to do a side story mainly focusing on anime demonstrating good/healthy communication, but also some examples of poor communication as well. While Harley is again the most obvious true main character, some of the other characters really steal the show like Clayface. His version is this is easily my favorite version ever. This week we wrapped up the full Season 1 of Oshi no Ko, and gotta say episodes 2-11 were great! While we did enjoy the worldbuilding and setup of the movie that was episode 1, the rest of the episodes just raised the bar and delving into how the siblings handle their loss is well done along with the handling of other big issues like online bullying.

Well we finished the Apothecary Diaries S1 and not a day too soon since season 2 airs when this drops! Part 2 really answered alot of questions, even questions we didn't even know we had! We learn alot more about our main characters MaoMao and Jinshi, and while we do have a few unanswered questions, the ending wrapped up nicely. We are very excited for Season 2! We follow mainly Hibino, Kafka, a 32 year old man who always wanted to join the Defense Force but never passed. Also, another major character is his trainee/partner from the cleaning job named Ichikawa, Reno. We follow them through trying to join the force while also hiding a major secret, that Kafka is a kaiju himself! Next episode we will be reviewing another recent one, Solo Leveling!

The breakdown Knives and Vash's history was done well, and finally seeing Vash stand up for himself was very enjoyable to see. This week's episode was on 2010's The Secret World of Arrietty and it was a very nice and welcome surprise. Generally, we aren't huge fans of the craziness with faces and animation that usually comes with Ghibli, but this one actually kind of resonated with us. The visuals are beautiful like always, but the detail in how the borrowers move around and live was very cool to see.

This week's choice was 2023's Shangri-La Frontier follows our main character Rakurou Hizutome, or Sunraku as his ign. He takes a break from his hobby of playing trash games to play the god game known as SLF, or Shangri-La Frontier. Apologies for the late upload on this one, had some issues with the editing of it. This episode was a random pick by yours truly, 2019's Promare. This movie was about individuals fighting other individuals who have fire powers and like to set things ablaze, and one firefighter whose soul is always on fire to put fires out! This week we reviewed Mark's recommendation of Netflix's My Happy Marriage and were even lucky enough to have him join on the episode! This anime tackles emotional trauma in a very well-written and real way; it makes you hate the abusers and really feel for Miyo, the main character, as she struggles with her confidence and self-worth. I highly recommend this anime if you are looking for a nice love story with some interesting subplots!

This week Artsy and I reviewed Studio Ghibli's From Up on Poppy Hill. This movie came out back in 2011 and is classified as a romance/drama movie set in 1963 Yokohama Japan. Artsy and I were both hesitant since our first review of Ghibli was....something, but this was a much more enjoyable experience! This week was my random choice of 2009's movie Summer Wars, and if you read the title of the episode then you kind of already know how we felt about it haha. The story revolves around two main characters, Kenji a math genius who has no experience with girls, and Natsuki who has hired Kenji to be her fake boyfriend. While this family drama is happening, there is drama going on in the cyberworld known as OZ where every infrastructure has basically been integrated. This week Artsy and I dove into the fantasy world of 2018's Maquia: When the Promised Flower Blooms. The simplest way to describe this movie is a tale of two coming of age stories: one of a baby boy into a man, and one of an "ageless" young elf-like woman into a caregiver and mature woman. Usually I like to give a bit more in these summaries, but I think this movie is worth the watch, even with it not being my usual choice in anime. Want to join us live? This week we jumped back into the world of The Misfit of Demon King Academy, AKA Anos does whatever the heck he wants! Season 2 thought definitely is much more story oriented than Season 1. If you liked the randomness and overpowered outlandish things Anos did in the first season, just know there are alot less moments of that this time, but they are still there and still hilarious! This season definitely wants to get your brain thinking/guessing and get the feels going in the later episodes. Listen in to hear more on what we thought!

Suzume shares alot with his previous creation, Your Name as it has amazing visuals, great sound design, and an interesting story. This week Artsy and I cover the 2020 movie Violet Evergarden: The Movie and man did it hit hard even on the rewatch. We both remembered it was emotional, but we didn't remember just how impactful the emotional scenes were. This movie is a beautiful wrap up to the series and special, it sows the growth of Violet in a very real and raw way, it has different individuals reconcile, and unfortunately shows some experiencing loss. Needless to say, we absolutely loved this movie and series, listen in to why exactly this is one of our all time favorite movies!

This week Artsy and I did a slight switch up, we originally were going to do the OVA and first movie together but after watching the OVA we realized it deserved its own episode. The OVA falls in-between episodes 4 and 5, going to Iris' family and the love letters between kingdoms. While I personally don't believe the OVA is technically needed, I believe it does its job very well of showing more insight on Violet and her character growth. This was such a fun one to revisit for me and a really enjoyable one for Asce to watch for the first time. Each episode is over 40 mins long so it is almost like mini movies that make up a whole show. It is a bit more on the darker and gorey side so go in knowing this!!

This week was a recommendation from Jack (Featured Anime Podcast) and HMG (Will I Continue?) and it was a good rewatch. This is a dark and gritty anime, especially the first couple of episodes so if that is not your cup of tea, then I would for sure skip watching this anime. The action, sound design, and combat were well done and the intelligence of the goblin slayer is very interesting to watch.

This week was a blast of the past with 1993's Ninja Scroll! Not much to be said plot wise, but definitely was nostalgic to watch this one again for the both of us. This week Asce and I get to talk about the Slime move Scarlet Bond and it was fun to get back into the slime world! The action, comedy, and visuals are everything you remember and expect from slime and we cannot wait for Season 3 to finally drop!

This week is a pivot from what we spoke about last week; Asce and I missed our viewing of the Slime movie, so we reviewed Netflix's Godzilla 1 this week and it was definitely a fun time. If you are a big monster movie buff, then this may be one that you want to jump into, especially with 2 more movies!

This week we reviewed More Than a Married Couple, But Not Lovers and while it did cover a few well-worn tropes, it definitely did have some hilarious moments and also some touching and emotional scenes as well.

This week we reviewed 2017's Princess Principal. This was definitely an enjoyable watch, it had great art, good sound design, and the world building was awesome as well. If you like steampunk and spycraft, then this anime is definitely for you!

This week was on Hathaway and it was definitely a blast from the pass for Asce and I, and not very enjoyable for Jess haha. Looking forward to hopefully part 2 and 3 for this moview series because the ending of Hathaway is a huge cliffhanger, be warned!
This week we reviewed Don't Toy with Me Miss Nagatoro and it was definitely a welcome anime with how tough work has been recently! Turn off your brain and just have fun with this! I definitely recommend reading this as well!

This week we watched Bofuri: I Don't Want to Get Hurt, so I'll Max Out My Defense. Short version, this is just a completely enjoyable funny anime. Just like how Konosuba makes fun of Isekai's and their tropes, this makes fun of the "game" genre of animes.

This week we watched Netflix's Nezha Reborn and we all enjoyed it! The art and music were great. The fight scenes, while generally short, were very well choreographed. All in all, a very enjoyable action movie with some comedic moments.

This week was a BANGER! We all watched and thoroughly enjoyed Call of the Night. The music, animation, characters, design, world building was all top-tier. Please do not sleep on this anime!

This week the crew reviewed the Netflix movie Drifting Home and this had some mixed reviews. This story revolves around several friends being stranded in some other world surrounded by water and trying to come together as friends to get home.

This week we were down a member due to sickness so it's a married podcast! We absolutely loved this anime; the art, music, story, and fighting were just amazing and beautiful in their own rights. I gave it a solid 10 and Jess a very high 9. Listen in to hear why!
This week was a great refresher for Jess and I and a completion for Asce. The comedy, action, and music for RWBY are just amazing. Want to thank Monty for making this anime and we look forward to reviewing season 2.

This week we have the full crew of Jess, Asce and I reviewing Your Name. This movie came out in 2016 and we all believe it is a must watch, even if Asce took off a little for no combat. Sound design, world building, visuals, and everything else are top notch and the story is very unique and captivating!
