The Inglis Elevators, giants of the prairies! A National Heritage Site that Bert Marshall and Ernie Neubauer know quite a bit about them. The pair helped to save, refurbish and curate them into a tourist destination. The elevators represent a bygone era

Dr. Gordon Goldsborough is interested in reconnecting abandoned buildings and their history. This hobby has led to a couple of books on the subject, Abandoned Manitoba and More Abandoned Manitoba. Much of our history has been lost to time. Dr. Goldsborough is trying to save some of it through his interest in abandoned buildings and his association with the Manitoba Historical Society.

Ryan Brook needs our help to eliminate the wild pig problem. All types of pigs, including wild boars, have interbred and are causing devastation to our ecology. Sport hunting, partial trapping and other forms of harassment are ineffective, as the pigs learn from our behaviours and go further underground. They use the provincial parks to their advantage in the same way other wildlife have learned to do. Current collar mapping has shown that wild pigs are spreading far and wide across the province. Wild pigs have been and are a major problem across North America, except in Colorado, where they have been trapped and hunted successfully.

Every year Lisa Tretiak and her team at Prairie Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre help injured wildlife get back on their feet and wings. We know that humans have a giant impact on the environment, whether it's through building highways and vehicles hitting them, using windows in architecture, and buildings on migration paths. Triage plays a large role in determining if an animal can be rehabilitated or if its injuries will effect its ability to survive upon release.
