"Praise Jesus" is not just the name of this podcast. I intend to speak of my love and trust in Our Lord and Savior. To teach, learn, glorify, and ... Praise Jesus.
I urge you, and encourage you, as I remind myself, to always be thinking of God. Not just this day, but tomorrow, next week and month, and in every situation.
Yes, of course we are reminded this Christmas of the joy and gift of our Lord.

No True Life Without the BibleExcerpts from:
How to Study the Bible
Dwight L. Moody
Long for the pure milk of the word, so that by it you may grow in respect to salvation, if you have tasted the kindness of the Lord. (1 Peter 2:2-3)
How has the Word of God changed how you live?
If the Word of God has NOT changed, motivated, guided, convicted, or revealed God's character to you, why not?
How much time and thought would you like to give to reading the Bible?

This is a recording of my reading of an email to a dear friend explaining the previous episode:
In Christ, For Christ; in Love.
I have been thinking about the previous podcast and this email helped me arrive at the explanation I have put together in the following episode.
Do you get frustrated? What do you get frustrated about?
Why do you get frustrated? What does that say about your Faith?
How do you respond to other peoples frustrations?
Matthew 6:6
But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.

I have thought about love for some time.
Being disabled, there's not a lot I can physically do.
But as you will hear, I realize the things that I can do, for Christ, in Christ, are the things that really matter.

1 Corinthians 13
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.
It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.
Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.
It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

How to Study the Bible
Dwight L. Moody
As I intend to read one chapter of the book of Genesis each week, I want to always focus on why am I reading, what is the purpose, and do I want God to reveal himself as I'm reading.
I hope that you not only enjoy reading the Bible but grow to know our Lord God as you do.

6 I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the one who called you to live in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel—
7 which is really no gospel at all. Evidently some people are throwing you into confusion and are trying to pervert the gospel of Christ.
How do you know that you are following the gospel correctly?
What is the gospel?
Verse 9: As we have already said, so now I say again: If anybody is preaching to you a gospel other than what you accepted, let them be under God’s curse!

Here are some questions that I have written down for the last couple of years.
I hope that we can think about them and use them to be a witness of the truth and love that God has blessed us with.
As always, I hope that you reach out to me and we can have a great conversation about God and all he's done for us. Amen.

My dear brothers and sisters,
My Christian brother is questioning his faith and what he believes.
I do think that as I pray God is using him so that I can pray for all of our brothers and sisters all over the world.
We all lose faith once in a while but should we? Is it good to question God? Is it good to think about what makes our faith real? What is hope?
I ask that you please pray for my brother, but also pray for all of our brothers and sisters who is faith and believe might be a little bit weak today. We don't know them but God does.
Let's take a moment every day to pray for them with all of our hearts because we love them and because we are gods children. Amen
Following Christ
by
Charles Spurgeon
Chapter 1
The Necessity of Following Christ
“Those who desire to be saved must know that they will have to serve Christ. Those who are really saved rejoice that they are serving Him, and they are giving evidence of a changed heart and a renewed mind.”
Mark 8:1-10Jesus Feeds the Four Thousand
6 ... When he had taken the seven loaves and given thanks,...
7 They had a few small fish as well; he gave thanks for them also...
How do I give thanks?
What do I give thanks for?
Does God know I am thankful?
How would He answer these questions about me?

5 he predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will

CHAPTER TWO
DEVOTION TO GOD
Who will not fear you, O Lord,
and bring glory to your name?
For you alone are holy.
All nations will come and worship before you,
for your righteous acts have been revealed.
REVELATION 15:4
**Listen!
Pay attention!
Do not forsake!
Get wisdom, get understanding!
Do not forget my words!
Love wisdom!
Cherish wisdom!**
11 My son, do not despise the LORD’s discipline,
and do not resent his rebuke,
12 because the LORD disciplines those he loves,
as a father the son he delights in.
13 Blessed are those who find wisdom,
those who gain understanding,
14 for she is more profitable than silver
and yields better returns than gold.
15 She is more precious than rubies;
nothing you desire can compare with her.
NIV - New International Version
1 My son, IF YOU
accept my words
and store up my commands within you,
2 turning your ear to wisdom
and applying your heart to understanding—
3 indeed, if you call out for insight
and cry aloud for understanding,
4 and if you look for it as for silver
and search for it as for hidden treasure,
5 then you will understand the fear of the LORD
and find the knowledge of God.
NIV - New International Version
2 for gaining wisdom and instruction;
for understanding words of insight;
3 for receiving instruction in prudent behavior,
doing what is right and just and fair;

How does your thankfulness reflect God's love for you?
What should we be thankful for?

My brothers and sisters, as I think about you, the sorrows, the suffering, and the pain, I think about you and want to encourage you to pray to our loving God.
I know that sometimes it doesn't seem God is in your presence, sometimes it seems that he doesn't care, sometimes it doesn't seem that he is listening. The truth is, he is with you, he does care about you, and he's listening when you pray.
Please feel free to email me anytime. I would love to hear from you. I would love to know what God is doing in your life. I would love to hear your testimony.
The relationships that we have with others show what type of relationship we have with God. I want to know you so that I can know and experience the power and love of God.

**John 14:16-17
16 And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate, who will never leave you.
17 He is the Holy Spirit, who leads into all truth.**
When I think of discipleship I think of a new Christian asking me a series of questions and me helping them in their spiritual growth and guiding them so they may have a clearer and better relationship with God. Today my message is not so much about making disciples but to make sure that you are allowing God to disciple you.
"Before you can be filled with the Spirit you must desire to be filled.
"Do you want Him to be Lord of you life?
"Are you sure that you need to be filled?
"If you feel that there is something that you must have or your heart will never be satisfied,...I would say, “Come on,” because God has something for you…”

How to be filled with the Holy Spirit
**Heavenly Father, speak to me and I will listen as you prepare every moment of my life so perfectly.
All the pleasure I have is to please you, to follow you, to be happy with your will for me. I know that my life means something because you alone have created it. You alone have set an example for me to follow. In a worldly sense my life is hard. But the joy of knowing, that this life that you've given me, the difficulties are to show your power and to give you pleasure. How can I not take joy in this suffering? How can I not struggle with any patience and motivation to live a life that is only worthy of your calling?
I know, and I am humbled by the fact that you have reminded me that just because of my worldly situation I do not have a free ticket to the Kingdom of Heaven. I know and I am convinced that when I see our lord coming from heaven that only then will I truly see and know what God’s glory truly is. Yet even now I know the Kingdom of Heaven is near, I see the glory moment by moment in my life. But yet, I do not know what will become of me. But I do know, that God will be pleased at whatever he decides for me so I also must be pleased. What I deserve is not for me to say. I give all praise, thanks, and glory to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.**
**Heavenly Father, I thank you for not only giving me the word, but I thank you for your grace and power and allowing me to generously understand and wonder about your word.
God, after I read your word I go out into the world seeking the word. Often, if not always, do I crave your comfort once again. As I go out into the world, the world you created, I seek your wisdom and to enter your word again.
As I look high into the sky I see the clouds and I know that you have created them. As I watch the trees budding I wonder how easy it is for you to make the dead trees, live once more. And how the brown grass is now turning green again. And how easy it is for you my God, how easy it is for you, to take a lost soul and to give him salvation and to lead him even closer to you every single day. I ponder that and I wonder just how easy it is for you.
God please make it just as easy for me to live a life worthy of your calling. Please make it just as easy for me to remember you in all that I do and say. God please let me continue to speak your word whether openly or in my prayers, bring me closer to you even closer than I am to you now. Amen.**
John 17
**Oh my lord, I have come to ask for your love, strength, and trust. My faith in you has not been extinguished but has been made stronger. My willingness to follow you has not been diminished but has been filled with more love. And my longing to see you has not been made weary but has been guided by truth.
Save me lord, from the effects of the world. Remove from me my weakness and replace it with hope. Allow me to encourage others as you have encouraged me with your words and your love and your presence.
With you God, I am comforted and take pleasure in your will for me. With you God, your will for me is the work of the Good News. With you God, the Good News can be whole and complete. Please use me and my life to further the love and praise you receive from all nations. Amen.**
Here are some excerpts from four great books that I have been reading.
J. I. Packer
Knowing God"His supreme desire was to know and enjoy God himself, and he valued knowledge about God simply as a means to this end. He wanted to understand God’s truth in order that his heart might respond to it...”
Aiden Wilson Tozer
The Pursuit of God
"The evil habit of seeking God-and effectively prevents us from finding God in full revelation. In the "and" lies our great woe. If we omit the "and" we shall soon find God, and in Him we shall find that for which we have all our lives been secretly longing."
Arthur W. Pink
The Seven Sayings of the Savior on the Cross
"Above all others, Christ practiced what He preached. Grace and truth came by Jesus Christ. He not only taught the truth but was Himself the truth incarnate."
Rick Warren
The Purpose Driven Church
"If you are building a ministry on God’s eternal purpose, you cannot fail. It will prevail. Keep on doing what you know is right, even when you feel discouraged. “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up” (Gal. 6:9). What is most important is that you remain faithful to his purposes.”
Romans 6:5-8
5 Since we have been united with him in his death, we will also be raised to life as he was.
6 We know that our old sinful selves were crucified with Christ so that sin might lose its power in our lives. We are no longer slaves to sin.
7 For when we died with Christ we were set free from the power of sin.
8 And since we died with Christ, we know we will also live with him.
**As I speak with you lord, please speak back. Do not hold back your words from me. For your encouragement and guidance I need. As I patiently endure, and await to see you again, please God, with your power and grace give me the strength I need. The strength of faith. The strength to endure.
Oh God, how much I long to hear you again. So often I pray for others and I know my prayers are accepted and I hope they pray for me too. God I love you. Please forgive me and restore me to what your will is for me.**
**Allow me lord, to speak words that are true to those whom are your children and those whom are your enemies, and mine. Moisten my tongue with powerful words as from yourself and do not let me hold back any longer. Please allow your spirit to poses my mind so I can do your will with boldness and confidence. I come before you as a willing vessel. You comfort me in my pain, and you show me your friendship when I am alone, and you treat me as I ought to be treated, and you trust me enough and you keep coming back for me.
Let our neighbors and family and friends come together to praise and worship only you. Please let the blessings that you give us give you pleasure. Please let the protection that you give us give you honor. Please let the love you give us allow us the opportunity to love others for your sake. Please continue to give great honor to those who endure under suffering. Lord hear my prayers as I seek your face. Amen.**
Acts 2:25-26
25 King David said this about him:
‘I see that the LORD is always with me.
I will not be shaken, for he is right beside me.
26 No wonder my heart is glad, and my tongue shouts his praises!
My body rests in hope.
**My lord, my god how much I love you.
With all of creation in your hands, I am encouraged by your spirit. He grows inside me and lives between my heart and soul. My mind yearns for his kindness and wisdom. I ask you lord to speak to me with your truth and power. I trust in you to answer my prayers and hear my sorrow. I find myself in need of your love and compassion. I pray for those who don't know me and those who soon will. I am excited for the plans you have for me. For I trust you and I want to give glory to your name. Amen**
Jesus says, “I can do nothing on my own… I carry out the will of the one who sent me, not my own will.” (John 5)
Some might say that all we can do is do our best with what God has given us. That comes to my point in the greatest gift that God has given us, His Holy Spirit.
In Charles Spurgeon’s book, God's Promises, we will look at the example of Isaac and Ishmael, the son's of Abraham. One child was brought about by human effort and the other son was brought about by the power of God through the Holy Spirit.
Ephesians 1:3-4
3 All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ.
4 Even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes.
**The Father I love, the father I trust please speak to me as you do to those who trust in you.
My lord, you have spoken to prophets and apostles in times gone by.
Now as I search for the truth, I know your presence comes with love. Father, please allow me to come before you in times of trouble and times of joy. My eagerness to serve you and seek your face warms my heart and keeps me alive. Thank you God, our most high God, for you have sustained us and delivered us from our enemies. This world only brings darkness and death. Your word brings light and life.
I am confident that you hear me and know me. It is by your grace that my life, the one you gave me, holds any worth. It is by my hope and faith in you that my heart is not lonely or empty. Thank you God for my parents and family. Allow my words of truth about the good news to reach the hearts of those around the world. I pray for my brothers and sisters here and everywhere and thank you for bringing us to you. Amen.**
Romans 8:11
The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you. And just as God raised Christ Jesus from the dead, he will give life to your mortal bodies by this same Spirit living within you.
Who influences you in your life?
Do you influence others to do good?
How does the Holy Spirit Influence you?
**Matthew 28:19-20
19 ... Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age (end of the world).**

Matthew 5:3 “God blesses those who are poor and realize their need for him, for the Kingdom of Heaven is theirs.'
**Heavenly Father, I seek your presence at all times.
Your guidance and your wisdom gives me the faith to worship you completely.
My heart is compelled and complete when I know your will for me gives you pleasure. You are my rock and the way to purity and righteousness. May you always be happy with my deeds and forgive my shortcomings. Without you Lord, my soul is in deep despair and discomfort. As I come before you humble and sincere I feel your presence and I can come to you with a clear conscience.
Thank you Lord, for all you have given me and all the love and protection you give me. My Father, I ask you to save those who genuinely seek your kingdom. Also, allow those who do not worship you to have a taste of your mercy and a piece of your holiness. Let me not be of those who are tempted to do wrong, but of those who are pleased with your will. Let me be free of the desires of this world and allow me sanctuary in your great power.
I remember my brothers and sisters in faith, and offer thanks to you from them. We are grateful for your blessings and your everlasting wisdom. Amen.**
1 Peter 5:6-7
So humble yourselves under the mighty power of God, and at the right time he will lift you up in honor. Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.Do you remember COVID-19?
What were you doing back in 2020?
What sort of things did you think about?
How did you spend your time?
Matthew 8:18-22
18 When Jesus saw the crowd around him, he instructed his disciples to cross to the other side of the lake.
19 Then one of the teachers of religious law said to him, “Teacher, I will follow you wherever you go.”
20 But Jesus replied, “Foxes have dens to live in, and birds have nests, but the Son of Man has no place even to lay his head.”
21 Another of his disciples said, “Lord, first let me return home and bury my father.”
22 But Jesus told him, “Follow me now. Let the spiritually dead bury their own dead.
**I trust in my God.
I pray these words: with a clear conscience and an open mind I pray to the one true God.
I dedicate my life and my death to my Lord Jesus Christ. To the sacrifice I will never be able to repay, to the pain I will never be able to endure. With God as a witness let me be what you want me to be. Let whatever impurities in my heart or in my soul drift away. Let me be content and full of joy as your spirit moves me, let me endure for your honor. For your gift and your covenant to me comes with such mercy and power.
Let your Holy Spirit possess my mind and let me speak only words that are true. Let my life be a testimony that everything is possible with God. I do nothing by my own accord or selfless desires. In my sleep I dream of you and when I wake my dreams come true. See me as a righteous servant dedicated to tell the good news promised so long ago. Amen.**
Acts 2:17 ‘In the last days,’ God says, ‘I will pour out my Spirit upon all people...'
**Father, my Lord, you are the one true God.
The God who sees all our secrets and knows what our lives hold.
You have protected our ancestors, you have put to shame those with no faith. Choose for us, oh Lord, to be of those who seek you and find you to be a merciful God. One who comforts and favors us among the godly. Continue to show us the way of those whom you see as righteous and not those whom you show your wrath. We give thanks to you for all you have blessed us with. If it is your will, please replace our sorrows with patience, and our own desires with pleasing you. Let us be worthy of the sacrifices of those who came before us.
To those who do not follow our Lord, guide them to peace and salvation. Show them your mercy for you are merciful. Let our faith be strengthened and our hearts be softened. Amen.**
Romans 8:26 And the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness. For example, we don’t know what God wants us to pray for. But the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words.
My Lord, I seek you earnestly.
I find your will pleasing to me and your voice comforts my soul.
**Please find in me a humble servant and a dedicated and obedient child. Let me not be discouraged or mislead by the teachings of the darkness. Let me find salvation and truth in your name. As I hear your voice I will not stumble and I pray in your name all the days of my life. With you I find a purpose and wisdom that guides me to righteousness. Your kind spirit is always happy with direction and correction. All praise and glory to the God I trust. The God I love. And the God of Abraham and Moses.
The Father of our Lord, see that I am pleased with your will. Lord, allow me and grant me the wisdom to testify and speak your glorious message. Let hope and light be my beacon. Speak through me through your spirit. Amen.**
