The Spirit-Led Leader: Recent Episodes

Kneisha Sanders

The Spirit-Led Leader Podcast is spiritual growth for the believer in business. As Christians, our two most important commands are to (1) Love God and (2) Love one another. However, we don’t always know how to love. Throughout this podcast, we will talk about the fruit of the Spirit – love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control and how to produce each. We will also talk about the journey of becoming a Spirit-Led Leader, which requires faith, trust, grace, and the Holy Spirit. The podcast is structured into seasons to focus on one element of being Spirit-Led, at a time.

Season 1 will be about identity – why? Well, having faith is challenging when you struggle to identify who God says you are. So, we will tackle how to have faith in God, including what He says about you. Will you believe Him?

Season 2 will focus on developing and producing the fruit of the Spirit and how we can build our trust in God. Will you trust Him and produce the fruit?

Season 3 you will hear from other leaders who lean into God’s grace and show up as their authentic selves, which allows them to intertwine their faith and work. Will you lean into His grace and show up?

Season 4 you will have an opportunity to move! We will talk about the Holy Spirit movement in corporate, which also applies to small and mid-size businesses, nonprofits, and churches, with a call to action for us all to join. Will you join the movement?

Why am I sharing with you the outline for the year?

Because every season and episode is intentional and planned to ensure your spiritual growth. After one year of listening to this podcast, you will be able to answer these questions:

  1. Will you believe Him?
  2. Will you trust Him and produce fruit?
  3. Will you lean into His grace and show up?
  4. Will you join the movement?

This podcast will develop you to be a servant leader by growing your influence, confidence, and relationship with God right where you are. So tune in because it’s Ready. Set. GROW.

Today's episode is about developing your spirit-man. What do I mean by spirit-man? Spirit-man is the spirit of man, it is the place in which the Holy Spirit resides.

As your spirit-man develops the more clearly you'd be able to hear and discern the voice of God. This is what makes spirit-man development so important.

Here are the stages to develop your spirit-man and mature as a Spirit-Led Leader.

  1. Trust
  2. Exploration
  3. Involvement
  4. Self-awareness
  5. Identity
  6. Relationships
  7. Contribution
  8. Reflection

Listen in as I take you through the spirit-man development process!

Today's big question is: What stage of The Spirit-Led Leader journey are you in?

When you can take a moment to reflect on where you are struggling and hoping to improve you can more easily invite God in to where you are...not where you wish to be or hope to be, but where you actually are.

This is important because God wants to be in the midst of what we're going through and to have a relationship with who we are, not who we pretend to be. That said as you listen to this episode get clear about the area you struggle with most when it comes to your relationship with God. What are you hoping to improve and while you may feel like there are multiple areas, choose the area that most resonate with you.

Below I have outlined the different struggles. If you would like to share with me where you are specifically and have a conversation about it, email me at spiritledleader@rcgrowth.com

I struggle most with and hope to improve:

  1. Glorifying God for the things I accomplish – hard work has been the reason for my success
  2. In knowing when to give God credit or when the glory belongs to Him
  3. Leaning on God’s understanding instead of my own
  4. Seeking God and focusing on being in His Presence
  5. Receiving God’s grace and allowing for Him to sustain me versus me sustaining myself
  6. Applying God’s word and walking out the fruit of the Spirit on a consistent basis
  7. Sowing seed into other leaders to help them experience God (discipleship)
  8. Mentoring and coaching how to disciple others

Are you questioning if you can bet on yourself and whether what you have to offer and can do is enough?

I found myself in this place, battling with the question (Am I enough?) unintentionally.

In today's episode, I share my story as a business owner to hopefully help you from sitting that doubt.

Scripture to remember:

Ecclesiastes2:26 (NIV) says, "To the person who pleases him, God gives wisdom, knowledge and happiness, but to the sinner he gives the task of gathering and storing up wealth to hand it over to the one who pleases God."

Hebrews 11:6 (NIV) says, "And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him."

The elements to being Holy Spirit-Led are:

  • Faith
  • Trust
  • Grace
  • Holy Spirit

John 15:1-2 says, "I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful."

Sometimes it's possible to forget that what you're going through is what you prayed for and that what you are experiencing is a blessing, not a curse.

Your pruning season may present trials and tribulations. However, we must remember that trials are for periods. They are not permanent. Pruning may feel uncomfortable and occasionally hurt but as stated in 1 Peter 5:10, "And after you suffer a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you."

Tune in to learn that a promotion isn't always physical. Sometimes it's spiritual.

A plain vision, set expectations, and an outlined journey will help you MOVE!

So how do you get the vision?

You seek, listen, and lean into the revelation God gives.

In today's episode, I discuss the difference between proving and moving. One requires us to stand still and focus on our image, while the other requires us to focus on our mission.

Proving is about PR. PR is shorthand for Public Relations, defined as strategic communications that manage how others see and feel about a person or brand (you). PR aims to shape your image by influencing the public's perception of who you are and what you've done. When you get in a state of proving, your focus is on you and how you're perceived, whereas when you're moving, your focus is on the mission driving you forward.

If you want to move and get out of the cycle of proving, this episode is for you! Tune in and subscribe to our email list to receive a worksheet to help you go from proving to moving!

Have you ever struggled to answer when someone asks you to share your journey?

I've found myself fumbling over the words to say and which stories to tell, but over the years, I've discovered a quick and thoughtful way to answer that question.

In today's episode, I share the underlining theme of my journey and how it has been a journey of discovering, focusing on, and clarifying what's possible.

One of my foundational scriptures is Matthew 19:26 (NLT), which says, "Jesus looked at them and said, "With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible." My journey has been one of doing the impossible, which I praise God for because it's through Him that I am able.

Suppose you would like to uncover the theme of your journey and the uncomfortable advantage it has provided. Subscribe to the email, and I will send you the exercise.

Until next time,

Kneisha
