Sarah Thomas has been changing the game since starting her path to becoming the first female NFL referee. Since being a high school sporting superstar in Pascagoula, Mississippi, Thomas has been around sports her entire life. Even so, the path to becoming an NFL referee wasn’t an easy one. It took hard work, dedication, and a little bit of history as well. Sarah Thomas was the first female to be hired as a full-time NFL official. She accomplished this in 2015 when the NFL announced the move to make her a regular part of the officiating cast. In January 2019, Thomas became the first female on-field official in playoff history. She was part of the NFL officiating crew for the Divisional Round game between the New England Patriots and the Los Angeles Chargers.

A singer with a strong voice and spirit to match, Stephanie Quayle's musical career evolved from pop to country, with a musical savvy that worked for both. Quayle isn’t just the artist, either. Rather than have someone tell her what kind of music to make or how to build her career, she draws on her own life experience with “a different kind of female perspective.” With a strong dose of Western, an emphasis on baritone guitar and a frisky put-it-out there candor, the singer-songwriter leans straight into what’s on her mind. Rolling Stone Country named her “An Artist You Need To Know,”

Kellie Rasberry had aspirations of becoming an actress, however, the owner of a local radio station saw her at a talent convention and thought she had the perfect personality for radio. Kellie began her radio career in Florence, SC, first reporting local news and then hosting her own morning show. A friend flipping through a trade magazine saw a great job opportunity in Dallas and encouraged Kellie to audition for it. She got the job. May 31, 1994, was Kellie’s first day with the Kidd Kraddick Morning Show, marking the beginning of that infamous Kraddick/Rasberry chemistry.
Kellie has enjoyed many wonderful opportunities over the years, including co-hosting an episode of “Live with Regis” during their “Women of Radio Week.” After winning numerous Favorite Female Personality awards, in May 2019, the Alliance for Women in Media presented Kellie with the Gracie Award for her achievements as Co-host of a National Radio Show. The Mentoring and Inspiring Women in Radio Group chose Kellie to receive the 2019 MIW Airblazer Award. Gigi Butler, entrepreneur and founder of Gigi’s Cupcakes, admits her story of success is full of sweet irony. Gigi opened her first Gigi’s Cupcakes location just off Music Row in Nashville, Tennessee in 2008. Gigi’s Cupcakes is now the largest cupcake franchise in the world.
With an entrepreneurial spirit that needed an outlet at the age of 15, Gigi opened her first business, Gigi’s Cleaning Company, which she continued to grow once she moved from California to Nashville in 1994. She cleaned houses during the day and sang at downtown Nashville honky-tonks at night. After a decade of pursuing a career as an entertainer, the heartaches of the music industry hit home.
After being turned down by various banks and down to her last $33, Gigi went out on a limb and in 2008 leveraged several personal credit cards to fund the first Gigi’s Cupcakes store. She gambled everything she had to open her first location. Fortunately, her sweet treats quickly became Nashville’s delicacy dessert of choice. Shortly thereafter, Gigi’s Franchising, Inc. was born, and Gigi’s Cupcakes locations began popping up throughout North America.
Over the course of the next decade and as the number of Gigi’s Cupcakes locations grew, Gigi became a sought-after public speaker. Her motivational, inspirational and entrepreneurial ‘rags-to-riches’ story has become a centerpiece for corporate events, business and social gatherings as well as on college campuses (and especially those with entrepreneurial programs).
Gigi speaks from the heart and loves interacting with her customers and fans. At every personal appearance engagement, Gigi offers a question and answer period as well as a meet-and-greet session where attendees have the opportunity to say hello, get some words of encouragement, get a photo taken and have Gigi autograph a copy of her autobiography. Gigi receives scores of letters every month from people who have learned about Gigi’s story by attending one of her speaking engagements, seeing her on TV or reading about her. They all appreciate Gigi for providing hope, inspiration and belief that they too can become just as successful as Gigi.
Gigi had the honor of being on the hit CBS TV Series “Undercover Boss”. Gigi’s episode, which was viewed by over 15 million people and continues in reruns to this day, became one of the show’s fan favorites. She wears her heart on her sleeve and in the show, interacts with employees incognito. Gigi claims this was one of the most rewarding experiences in her life. Gigi also entered into a strategic branding relationship with Serenade Cabinetry, where, until the company was sold to an investment group, she served as the face of a line of specialty cabinets.
As usual, Gigi is not ready to slow down and is ready to recreate herself again with her newest venture—opening a new concept called Gigi’s Kitchen. Gigi recently had this to say about what she is up to: “Gigi’s Cupcakes will always be my first baby. It has been an honor and a privilege to be able to come into your homes for your birthdays, celebrations, and to be a part of your lives for the last 12 years at Gigi’s Cupcakes. It is a bittersweet feeling, but it is time to recreate and start something new—from scratch. My love for baking will continue with a new concept called Gigi’s Kitchen—I could not be more excited.”
Open now, just south of Nashville, in Brentwood, TN, the pie shop has a warm, French farmhouse atmosphere and is open for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner serving casseroles, pot pies, pasta dishes, take-and-bake options, a coffee and tea bar, pie bars, muffins, scones, mini pies and, of course, full sized pies in many different delicious flavors. You can see the menu on www.gigiskitchenandbakery.com. Gigi’s Kitchen ships menu items nationally from the website.
Gigi’s autobiography “The Secret Ingredient: Recipes for Success In Business and Life” was released in December 2018. Gigi shares her personal success story, her hard-won business acumen and the life-changing inspiration that she’s gained from a challenging life. Each chapter includes a piece of business advice and a delicious sweet and savory recipe. The book is available on her website, on Amazon, or anywhere books are sold! (Info above from website)

Pam Goodwin had the pleasure of interviewing Coach Jenny Boucek with the Dallas Mavericks. Coach Jenny discussed how she planned to enter medical school, but word came of the WNBA's 1997 founding, being a single mom, a role model, and as the first female hired on the coaching staff for the Dallas Mavs.
Jenny became just the third woman to coach in the NBA after spending the 2017-18 season as an assistant coach with the Sacramento Kings (also Becky Hammond-San Antonio and Nancy Lieberman-Sacramento). Prior to joining the Kings, she spent three seasons as the head coach of the WNBA’s Seattle Storm (2015-17) and two-plus seasons as the head coach of the Sacramento Monarchs (2007-09).
Boucek was involved in the WNBA since its inaugural season, playing for the Cleveland Rockers in 1997. Following a career-ending injury in 1998, she began her coaching career as an assistant with the Washington Mystics in 1999. She then spent three seasons (2000-02) in the same capacity with the Miami Sol. In her first stint with Seattle from 2003-05, Boucek was an assistant coach on staff that included the franchise’s first WNBA Championship in 2004. The Storm won their second WNBA crown in 2010 with Boucek on staff in a similar role. Boucek is distinguished as the first athlete to play in the WNBA and subsequently serves as both an assistant and head coach in the league.
The Nashville, Tenn., native played collegiate basketball at the University of Virginia from 1992–96. Boucek helped lead the Cavaliers to four regular season Atlantic Coast Conference Championships and three NCAA Elite Eight appearances. She was a two-time GTE All-American, two-time ACC selection and two-time Defensive Player of the Year. She finished her career at Virginia with over 1000 points.
Boucek resides in Dallas with her daughter, Rylie. (Info provided by Dallas Mavericks website www.mavs.com) Video provided @DallasMavericks

This episode features Country Music Superstar Singer Tori Martin on The Pam Goodwin Show. Tori sings Pam's favorite song and tells her how she wrote her latest song, "What Would Dolly Do" written with total inspiration from Dolly Parton.
As a singer, Tori Martin is described as powerful, moving, exciting, emotional, with a voice that jumps out of the speakers. As a songwriter, she creates an experience that is genuine, and relatable. Her artistry captures what she is feeling, touching her listeners as she dazzles them with her infectious personality and impeccable stage presence.
Tori was born in sunny Ft. Walton Beach, Florida, and grew up a military brat living in many different states before landing in Texas at age 7. She spent most of her life in Azle, just outside of the Dallas/Fort Worth area before moving to Nashville in 2017 to follow her musical dreams. Her musical influences began early...in church...where she began trying on her vocal abilities as a child singing in her church choir.
By age 14 she was performing at opry houses all over Texas. Heavily influenced by her Country music-loving Paw-Paw, who bought the young songstress her first guitar, she cut her teeth on classics from Johnny Cash and Tammy Wynette’s “Stand By Your Man.”
In 2014, Renegade Radio Nashville named her one of the “New Faces of Country” and she was a contestant on Season 14 of ABC TV’s American Idol. In 2015, she was nominated for “New Female Vocalist of the Year” at the Texas Regional Radio Music Awards.
At 16, Tori recorded her first EP, Falling Straight Up in Nashville, and headlined her first concert. Inspired by greats like Dolly Parton, Whitney Houston, and Stevie Nicks, she quickly became known for her dynamic vocals, regularly collaborating with Nashville’s top award-winning songwriters.
In 2019, Martin released her single, "Living the Dream," a fun mid-tempo anthem. Fast forward to early 2020, and as the flagship artist for LuckySky Music, she released the catchy, modern-traditional uptempo, “What Would Dolly Do?” This first single off her upcoming 8-song co-written CD “Lucky,” continues to climb the Texas Charts and has exceeded 50k streams.
The song was inspired by Tori’s visit to Dollywood. Touched by personal, handwritten notes from Dolly, Tori shares, "'What Would Dolly Do?' was written with total inspiration from Dolly Parton. She’s a woman who lives unapologetically and never gives up...one of my true heroes!
When she’s not performing or writing, Tori loves to travel and spends time with her husband Jason and their two golden retrievers, Duke and Daisy. She and Jason share a love for real estate investing which allows Tori to get into a rhythm of creatively designing and decorating homes. In 2021, she plans to get on the road and share new music from her album, Lucky.

Pam Goodwin interviews Magie Cook, who went from an orphanage in Mexico to being homeless to selling her first business for $231 million dollars. In this episode, Magie shares her stories of survival growing up in an orphanage with 60+ siblings in Mexico, her experience of starting her salsa business at a farmer's market, what it takes to succeed, cold calling, never giving up and what it takes to launch a product.
Magie Cook started her salsa company with a gift of $800 while she was homeless. Despite no experience in business, she grew Maggie’s All Natural Fresh Salsa’s & Dips into a multi-million dollar company over the course of four years and sold it to Campbell’s Soup at a $231 million value in 2015. Today Magie uses her experience to empower others, helping them to grow as mindful and prosperous entrepreneurs and leaders.
Cook grew up in an orphanage, feeding her 68 “brothers and sisters” with meat that she hunted with a short knife, one of the few possessions she had. She taught herself to play basketball, seeing it as a possible path to a better life. She won an athletic scholarship to the University of Charleston but was unable to find a job after graduating, leaving her in a familiar scenario – surviving in the forest and on the streets.
With the encouragement of friends, Cook entered and won a salsa-making contest, procuring an $800 gift from someone who had tried her salsa. Through hard work and passion, she expanded her company nationwide, building partnerships with Walmart, Whole Foods, and several other supermarkets until her products were available in 38 states.
After selling her company, Cook turned her focus to speaking, coaching, and helping Mexican orphans. For five years she served as the US Program Director of the Give New Life Orphanage, rescuing 31 Mexican children from the Cartel and sex trade.

Pam Goodwin interviews Marketing Rockstar, Amanda Brinkman, Chief Brand Officer for Deluxe and co-host of the hit realty TV show Small Business Revolution.
In 2015, Amanda was recruited to transform Deluxe Corp.’s 100-year-old, $2 billion brand. She spearheaded the “Small Business Revolution,” first showcasing 100 businesses across America, then going on to award $500,000 transformations to inspiring small towns. She produced and stars alongside Trading Spaces and Extreme Makeover: Home Edition’s Ty Pennington in the acclaimed “Small Business Revolution – Main Street” series, which chronicles the program’s impact on communities and countless lives.
Amanda Brinkman makes the Energizer Bunny look lethargic. Fueled by fountain Diet Coke and a meticulous daily water intake, she’s a revolutionary brand marketer, a passionate speaker, and a respectable water skier. She believes all brands can build loyalty by doing good, and she’s constantly on the lookout for new opportunities to share her “Do Well By Doing Good” mantra with audiences large and small.
While climbing the ladder at leading creative agencies, Amanda’s work on BMW Films kicked her career into overdrive. As a corporate marketing exec, she carved out a niche as an “intrapreneur,” cultivating creativity from the inside out at General Mills, Allianz, and UnitedHealth Group, where she built an internal agency that now employs 150 at seven offices worldwide.
A fierce advocate for her team, the phrase “thank you” consumes Amanda’s word cloud. She’s a trusted media source, a reality TV host, a sought-after speaker, and one of those people who starts playing Christmas music before finishing her Thanksgiving leftovers. Her life goals include meeting Ellen and learning to tap dance (not necessarily at the same time), and she has a penchant for Pull and Peel Twizzlers.
Amanda is honored to serve on the boards of the Children’s Cancer Research Fund, Make-A-Wish, the Children’s Theatre Company, and the Women’s Business Development Center’s Chicago Board. She also passionately volunteers for an array of causes, including the Special Olympics, Feed My Starving Children, Ordway Center for the Performing Arts, People Serving People, the Down Syndrome Association of Minnesota, the Jeremiah Program, and more. And she’s a member of the Minnesota Women’s Economic Roundtable. When she’s not volunteering, traversing the world, or hammering out 1 a.m. emails, Amanda is doing what she loves most: spending time with her daughter (read: future tap-dance partner) and husband (who doubles as her best friend).
