The journey Joe has been on from orphan child in India during the late 1930s to the middle 1940s is remarkable, eventually arriving in Canada. The path Joe has been on provides inspiration to all of us when circumstances appear to be overwhelming. Thanks to a ghost writer and editor Caitlin Freeman Joe's voice comes through this story perfectly.

Humans must critically look at the world and question everything for innovation to thrive. It is healthy to not accept our world at face value, because the answer we need might be in plain sight. Our society hasn't advanced to the speed visionaries and inventors of the past thought was possible because they forgot the complex nature of resistance from the elite members of business and government. This resistance is now fueling the modern fiction we call controversy because it is the perfect blend of timing and lack of transparency that has caused this incredible ripple our current society is experiencing through the sharing of outside observations and hypothetical narratives. Each day our society seems to be fixated with questionable topics like government ethics and secret agendas, environmental change, new alien like technology, faith and topped off with alien activity here on earth. A problem developing artists and observers have when interacting with art, especially modern abstract art is their approach. When art is approached through the eyes of comparison in an attempt to measure themselves and their art against other artists, the encounter becomes self destructive. This is not the intent and nature of art. True art should inspire conversation either through dialog or other creative avenues, but comparison is the quickest way to extinguish your passion. Remember there is always someone out there more talented than you. To be authentic is what separates everyone like a finger print and connects the painting/sketch/print/sculpture/film/photo/etc, to its audience. It is through the artist's journey that true art lives. Art doesn't completely reside in the technique, layers of materials and colors, those are only the byproduct of the journey. An artist must live to connect and communicate.
