Toni shares that she used to be in the entertainment business for 20 years, working with high-profile entrepreneurs, such as Dick Clark and Motown. She credits her success to loving what she does. Toni also stresses the importance of loving one's work to achieve success, no matter what field it is.
The speaker began by describing how she got into real estate, beginning with the advice of a mentor who had been in the business for 20 years. She then discussed how she began to generate leads, including door-knocking and open houses. The market then took a dip in 2006 and 2007, forcing the speaker to make a decision between returning to the entertainment business or mastering the market. She chose the latter and began to focus on the short sale space, which ultimately proved to be a successful decision.
The speaker is a real estate agent who specializes in short sales, helping people through the crisis. She had two negotiators and helps people throughout the entire state of California. She had also been helping people with loan modifications and guiding them through that process. She attended a conference and learned about how to help baby boomers with their lifestyle transitions, which reminded her of her own mother who was in her eighties. She decided to specialize in helping older adults and seniors with their lifestyle transitions and found her true calling in helping people.
Toni's mother was living by herself in Washington and due to complications with her health, Toni decided to bring her down to California. The speaker then took her to the doctor and found out she had a Trypuskas Valve challenge which required open heart surgery. The speaker had recently gotten into real estate and knew they would need a full-time nurse, so the speaker decided to take the Senior Real Estate Specialist course to get a certification. The speaker was inspired to teach the course due to their personal experience, and shortly after their mother, their brother also needed care.

She moved her family as a single mother with three children to southeast GA to work at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center and has called GA home since 1985. Rafael Cortez is an accomplished individual in the real estate space, and today he joins Tamra Simon on her Live in the Real Estate Power Chat to share his story and insight on building confidence as a real estate professional. Rafael started off doing real estate investments in 2009, and he had another business at the time, which was transportation-based. He used his knowledge of construction from his high school days to get started in the fix-and-flip space, and eventually moved on to wholesaling. In 2013, he obtained his real estate license, and from there, his business just kept growing. Rafael attributes his success to the combination of things that made sense to him, which eventually led to the formation of his own business. He believes that what has driven him to be so accomplished and to keep building is his passion and determination to succeed.
The speaker is an entrepreneur who is discussing how entrepreneurs are naturally curious, and how this can be a good thing if they know how to channel it. He learned how to do this by fixing and flipping properties. Along the way, he learned about wholesaling as well. He emphasizes the importance of dedicating time to new activities and allocating time blocks to avoid feeling overwhelmed. He advises taking small steps and consistency to make progress and succeed in one's goals.
The speaker believes that it is necessary to take risks in order to grow and become successful. He encourages people to look for opportunities and never become complacent with their current strategies and success. He also stresses the importance of surrounding oneself with people who have greater success than you and borrowing their perspective. Ultimately, he believes that taking risks and building relationships with successful people is the key to true growth.

Chris Soignier started in Corporate finance But found that something was missing. Money and benefits were good, but the stress, his health, and his work-life balance were not aligned. Carol was born and raised in Memphis, TN. As a child, she had aspirations of being an Olympic gymnast. Never in a million years did she think sheโd stumble into the real estate industry, but you canโt always predict where or when youโll discover what youโre meant to do. Carol was taught at a young age that if you want something in life, you have to work for it. So, that is what she did, and she worked hard. As the years went by, Carol worked her way from being a Registered Dietitian to a Project Manager for IT companies, never wavering in her resolve to become the best version of herself with each career move.
Carol got into the real estate industry 20 years ago when she and her husband started fixing and flipping houses. Carol loved fixing up a run-down house and making it into a beautiful home for a family. She didnโt know that down the road helping people in all stages of life find the home that is right for them would be where she would find the most joy.
After receiving her real estate license in 2016, Carol worked with a small boutique brokerage in Boulder, CO. This was a great place to start out, but as she expanded her business to other states and countries, eXp Realty was the perfect fit. She aligned herself with business partners that have helped her take her business to higher levels. Carol currently lives in Redding, CA. She is licensed in CO where her family spent 25 years, but is getting licensed in CA within the next month and will continue to grow her business in CO and northern CA
