Randy May and Jeremiah Edmonds

Two guys watch a movie and then have a conversation... sometimes they even manage to talk about the movie itself!

In the beginning, there was just one Mickey. Disney owned him. He was a mouse. This movie isn't about a mouse turning into a man, and it's not about 17 mice overtaking a planet of ice. It's actually about Donald Trump.

I wish that last paragraph was a joke.

It isn't.

If you are like me, you perhaps thought this movie was a sequel to a movie based on a board game possibly starring Rihanna.

Well, it's not. Turns out, the movie is about tornadoes. Tornados. Tornadoes? Tornados? Autocorrect, help me! It's not marking either one as incorrect! Wasn't technology supposed to solve everything... including tornados? Tornadoes?

Nevermind.

Walt Whitman, an excerpt from "Song of Myself" from Leaves of Grass: "The last scud of day holds back for me,It flings my likeness after the rest and true as any on the shadow'd wilds,It coaxes me to the vapor and the dusk. I depart as air, I shake my white locks at the runaway sun,I effuse my flesh in eddies, and drift it in lacy jags. I bequeath myself to the dirt to grow from the grass I love,If you want me again look for me under your boot-soles. You will hardly know who I am or what I mean,But I shall be good health to you nevertheless,And filter and fibre your blood. Failing to fetch me at first keep encouraged,Missing me one place search another,I stop somewhere waiting for you."

Don't worry, darling. This movie is gonna be great. What's it about? It's about everything, baby. It's about a golden age when women were women and men were men. But you know men. They only want one thing and it's disgusting. But don't worry, sweetheart, there's more going on here than meets the eye. We're on your side. You're a strong independent woman who don't need no man. Let me make you a drink. What's with the airplane? Don't worry, sugar. It's nothing. It just happened to be flying by that day of filming so I hit record and when I showed Olivia later that day she said it looked cool. So we put in the movie. That's how these things art. From the Bullet Train (Shinkansen) wikipedia entry:

The Shinkansen, colloquially known in English as the bullet train, is a network of high-speed railway lines in Japan. Initially, it was built to connect distant Japanese regions with Tokyo, the capital, to aid economic growth and development. Beyond long-distance travel, some sections around the largest metropolitan areas are used as a commuter rail network. It is operated by five Japan Railways Group companies.

Over the Shinkansen's 50-plus-year history, carrying over 10 billion passengers, there has been not a single passenger fatality or injury on board due to derailments or collisions.

Randy and Jeremiah went to see the special re-release of Star Wars Episode IV and boy was it different than we remembered. Even though George Lucas changed a lot of stuff it was still almost as good as the original. Miles Teller is the perfect choice for Luke Skywalker but what surprised us most was the risky casting of Tom Cruise as Obi-Wan Kenobi. It really paid off though. The crazy old wizard must have gotten over his fear of flying in that Disney+ show we didn't watch because boy does he really go for it! The biggest downside of this remake is that it's all hope and no empire. You really feel Vader's absence. Regardless, it's a good time! We hope you enjoy the episode and may the Goose be with you!

A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush. While we didn't necessarily need an Uncharted movie, we're not complaining! It's a greatest hits album of beloved treasure hunter Nathan Drake but before he was beloved and before Sully grew out that beautiful mustache.

It falls flat in many ways. But just like Drake leaping across a bottomless abyss and narrowly grasping that clearly marked yellow railing, it somehow manages to get at the heart of what made the video games it's based on great. It's nowhere near the masterwork that those Naughty Dog classics are, but it's got jokes and an absurd yet wildly entertaining finale.

Remember when you had to read Shakespeare in high school and you hated it? This is better than that. This podcast episode, I mean. The movie is pretty good too but I'll let you make up your own mind about that. Just don't get all crazy about it, you know. Good things come to those who wait. No need to rush things by poisoning the guards and killing the king. In the grand scheme of things, fate is just out of our hands. Or it's goofing around as three very flexible old women who are really just one flexible old woman pretending to be a bird and doing a dang good job of it. Like for real. Most old women I know can't do a bird impression for crap. I've asked them. Ma'am would you do your best impression of a bird? Laughable. But seriously, none of us really has control of our futures. So don't kill yourself over it. And definitely don't kill other people over it. Because those people probably won't be too happy and they might try to kill you back. I know you think you're invincible but people are tricky. You never really can tell if that's just the trees moving closer to your house or if it's a bunch of people who hate you disguised as bushes making their way downtown. But I digress. What I'm trying to say is that Shakespeare is good and you shouldn't let how you felt about it in the past determine your future.
