“It’s all fun and games until someone gets hurt.” That’s what mom used to say when we were doing something we shouldn’t. And, though no one would have said colonialism was all fun and games, they would definitely have argued that it was for good. After all, who wouldn’t benefit from converting to Christianity? Who wouldn’t benefit from learning a new and “better” way (aka, our way) of doing things?
