Achilles tendon ruptures are a common injury.  They are easy to diagnose and often do not need any investigations.  There is still controversy over the best way to manage this injury but it is one of the few injuries that have good operative and non operative options to manage this.  As such it does not necessarily require an orthopaedic surgeon to treat it.

This episode is the first in this series and we start with a very common problem.. the fractured neck of femur. This is a very common problem and will be seen at nearly all hospitals that provide orthopaedic care.
