One of the most oft repeated black chattel slavery apologies from the outraged Lost Cause collectivists, against The Problem of Slavery in Christian America by Joel McDurmon, is the charge that all the woke confederates in the South know the real reason for Secession was tariffs, not slavery. Joel smashes this last idol of Lost Cause mythology into pieces so small they don’t even qualify as dust, in his trademark, fully-automatic-machine-gun-out-of-the ivory-tower-with-swag style we have come to love him for and power religionists of all stripes endure in vivid nightmares.
Author: Dr. Joel McDurmon
Narrator: Joe Salant
All authority has been given to Christ as King, and He has commissioned us as ambassadors to go and teach the nations all He has commanded, we must also ask ourselves how do we do this? Is it by command? Or by persuasion?

Pastor Gordan Runyan suggests a way out of the endless duels of Scripture vs. Scripture when dealing with your Mormon friends and family. Stop arguing like an evidentialist. Show the Mormon his feet, planted as they, are on shifting sand.
Gordan Runyan reads his essay on 1 Peter 2:13-17, a passage that Christian statists often use to insist upon meticulous obedience to civil government. How likely is it that the Apostle who escaped from prison twice and boldly declared, “We must obey God rather than man,” would then urge his fellow believers to show unqualified obedience to wicked rulers? Turns out — not so much, really.

Evangelical celebrity preachers are warning their followers against being sucked-in to the current upswing in Libertarian thinking in America. Their concern is that this sort of thinking is atheistic, and inescapably so. Christian Libertarians are often chided that the label is an oxymoron. How can a Christian adopt that philosophy? We answer that with another question: How can there be any such thing as atheistic libertarianism? Christianity is the only solid ground for consistent libertarian thinking.
