I am Debra Savage, and I help people to take back their power and rise confidently above their pain.
For a while now, I have felt as though God has been encouraging me to start this support group of chronic pain warriors so that I can use my past experiences with my own pain to help and support other people in the community. You know the saying, “Turn your mess into your message!” That’s what I am doing through my Facebook group, The Healing Journey-Chronic Pain Support.
I have a degree in education and twenty-nine years of experience in medical research for Harvard Medical School, which has served me well in researching out the best treatment methods for chronic pain management.
Having a welcoming and strong support system by your side that is easily accessible to you and having the ability to access useful resources when needed is an important part of navigating your journey with pain and assisting in your recovery plan.

"Forgiveness: Not a Feeling but a choice"
Give yourself the gift of forgiveness not only to yourself but to others. Choose to be the victor, not the victim. The victim mentality will hold you back from thriving and authenticity.
We should forgive just as God forgave us.
We all have been hurt. Sharing your story and pain can free you and heal your soul. Forgiveness is a gift to yourself, not the predator.
The anger that comes with past pain can transpire into physical manifestation. Constantly sick with diseases and body aches can be due to your psychological well-being and emotional strongholds.
Forgiveness is not condoning or excusing the offense. It's more about your inner healing and freedom. Giving grace and mercy as God extends it to us, we should also give it to others.
You can forgive others and live in freedom and victory. It's a path to release our souls to live in peace.
Forgiveness takes time to catch up with your emotions when you make a choice to forgive. Also, if you have been deeply wounded get help with counseling or a coach. The path to forgiveness releases shame, anger, resentment, and desire for vengeance. Forgiveness makes inner space for love and peace. It's an opportunity to change our perception. You limit the ability to connect with others.
We all deserve to live in freedom.

Have you set your goals for 2023? When is the best time to set your goals?
Writing your goals down gives you a 50% better chance to achieve them. If you write it down for 21 days straight it helps improve and create a habit. Your goals have to be specific! It needs to be measurable and realistic. By making goals each week that is specific, measurable, and on time, you will see results. Make smart goals including a vision board to visualize them.
Think of goals as personal. Examples are I, I will, I am, then you own it. Look at your planner for the new year and plan first what are the most important things for you and your family. Intentional goals! Like family vacations, gatherings, and special events.
Also, Journaling will help with time management. Create a list of your goals for the day. It takes 11-16 minutes to get back to your frame of mind when interrupted or distracted. Don't allow distractions to pull you away from your goals. Accountability helps achieve goals too.
You achieve more in the community than alone. As Leaders, we have to set examples. I encourage you to set God-size goals. Start planning today, your dreams and visions.

Confidence: Oftentimes people are looking for confidence in others to help them grow. There are many ways to uplift people around you. Being courageous and confident. The guaranteed way is being connected to God.
Balance: When we balance our life we are able to succeed. It’s not easy for most of us.
Boldness: We should be bold and courageous. Bold in your decisions. Challenge your team to set goals and use time management. Building community and a sense of compassion. You have to be relatable.
Creativity: People want you to be more creative. Which leads to inspiring more people.
Determination: People want to see that you have faith and people want to connect with people they can trust, also for people who believe in Freedom including Freedom of Speech.
Harmony: Creating inspiration takes harmony. Make sure your influence matches the word in the bible.
Kindness: People want to see how you lead. There are different styles of leadership. Your leadership is key. Loyalty to anything inspires people.
Love: We can change the world with love and respect for their differences. Love people well and that inspires them.
Optimism: Comes from Faith. Know your security and hope come.
Value: Stay in high integrity and creativity. Teaching and adding value to others will help inspire them.
Share your victories and challenges. Self-doubt always holds you back. Your story is important. It all matters!
Inspire others to become the best version of themselves. Pay attention to your behaviors, strengths, and weaknesses so that when you are inspiring others it helps them see the discipline. If you are a leader in your community you want to inspire others to be the best version of themselves.
Keep in mind your why and understand you are why because that self-discipline is very inspirational.

Denise was a country girl raised in Ohio. At about 11 years old, she read an article about Mother Theresa. God pierced her heart at an early age with a dream after reading the article. After graduating high school she moved to Miami Florida and started Bible College. Later, she got married and has been married for 46 years and had 3 children. After she married she moved to Denver with her small children not knowing anyone. It was time to dig deep for Denise about who she was. Then she moved to Orlando Florida. In Orlando, she started sewing for skaters as her daughter was part of the skating team. She then moved to Atlanta, Georgia and 6 months later her youngest son was diagnosed with cancer and spent a lot of time in the hospital with her son. Feeling lost and scared, her son fought cancer for 4 years. Her son won his battle and is now residing in Heaven.
October 5, 1997, became a defining line for her. Everything is relative to that moment, burying her son. Denise moved to Lebanon as a foreigner she experienced many things among those things she recognized Denise as the new woman God was shaping. Not knowing what is next, she believed in God. She had to use her 5 senses in a country where she didn't speak the language. She learned of the silenced woman Denise as a woman wrapped around Jesus.
Can you be a mess and be solid? Yes, because the anchor doesn’t move. She was invited to a village where refugees are brought to in Georgia. She was asked to do something for 9 women who were foreigners in America. Denise didn't think she had anything to offer. She brought them hot sweet tea and cookies speaking some Arabic to welcome them to the country. Denise cried all the way home driving back for 45 minutes. By saying, Yes to the invitation. She then remembered the dream in her heart when she was a girl after reading the article about Mother Theresa.
Peace of Thread started when Denise humbled herself. There are women from 60 different nations and she wanted to make a difference by giving them a voice and hope. She would ask her friends for gas money to be able to drive 45 minutes to show up and change women's lives. When hope is infused, it is inoculated in you and changes everything. Today, Denise runs Peace of Thread in Grace Village with 2 locations in Atlanta Georgia with a clinic, counseling, a whole house built just for women, a triage to help healing for women emotionally and spiritually, a playground, and a herb garden. Denise’s Non-Profit is now giving hope to women and they make beautiful purses.
The purses are all one of a kind. Denise never imagined what God had in store for her life. As we navigate and look at our difficult seasons and recognize this is where God uses us the most. We are equipped to do the job. Failure is with a YES. Say, YES Lord!

Dr. Andrea Hazim is an author, Trainer, Educator, Chiropractor, Nutritionist, Mom of 3 sons, and Wife. Above all, she is the daughter of the highest King.
Today's topic is about relationships exclusively, the importance of relationships, and understanding others better. Dr. Hazim has been running Elevate Life Education Foundation since 2015 after seeing a need that she didn't have growing up and wants to be able to meet that need for all generations. Dr. Hazim has monthly events called Elevate Life Nights. Her calling is to train young people with tools for better relationships with parents and others.
There is a big disconnect, especially between generations. If people take the time and use the tools it will make a big difference. What you resist persists! Some tools you learn about people’s DNA are Speed, Task, and a people person.
One of the tools, The appreciation tree goes from Judging, Knowing, Understanding, Respecting, Accepting, And Appreciating. If we accept that we are different from others and love them as they are. If we are connected to the Vine we will show the fruit of love to others. Your uniqueness compliments me. We should always ask for forgiveness. So often in relationships pride sets in and we don’t stop to listen to God. We can repair the damage with our children.
Dr. Hazim wants you to know your voice matters. One last piece of advice, to build great relationships is The DNA relationship is about exploring the emotions that come up and beneath that. There are triggers for the behavior. What is truly behind the behavior, usually is fear. There is a symptoms and a cause. This is a great tool to help identify the core fears in your life.

Laura Croce, a Speaker, Author, Coach, and Lender. She has been in the Real Estate Investment arena for 38 years. Laura started in her early 20s to get into the Real Estate arena. After much research, she decided to start with rentals. As she got more familiar with the field, she bought properties and took limited financing terms to pay down the mortgage in a shorter term. Through time she made bigger investments and now she is a lender.

In this economy what is your advice?
There is always opportunity and it is essential to educate yourself. Just knowing what to do and brainstorming with a coach. There are many ways to make multiple incomes.

Integrative Dentistry is more than dental work; it looks more into overall health. It’s looking outside the box. Integrative Dentistry looks at your overall health thoroughly asking many questions commonly not asked by your dentists.
Dr. Poskozim had zero Business building education in dentistry. She worked as an associate for a few years and she realized after 7 years following her graduation to start her own practice. Her practice started in 2006 in the State of Illinois.
The hardest thing when transitioning was educating the new clients on the value of integrative dentistry.
Joy’s niche is going to geriatric patients’ homes and providing Palliative Care. More importantly, geriatric patients need an overall deep dive into their health before being them with any dental service.
Dr. Poskozim did not have a mentor when she started, but highly recommends having one. In her field, she didn't know where to look for a mentor 15 years ago.
The best piece of advice she received, The first two years spend as much money marketing to get your name out there. In these difficult times, People tend to cut marketing expenses. The reality is, it takes money to make money! Be out there and be present to scale on social media. People want to know who they are dealing with. Videos are worth a thousand words. If you can't afford to pay someone to help you with the videos and marketing then you may need to make the time to create your own videos for marketing and you learn your voice, but do it yourself for a short time. Eventually, hire a company to do it for you.

The failures have been her greatest teacher. As a business innovator, it is best to learn and grow at all times to best serve our clients.
Build your influence! When people know you, people will do business with you. Learn from the successful people what they do. Don’t be scared to do it or base it on the likes. You don’t know who you are impacting.

Practice makes perfect! We have heard it over and over again, But do we apply it in our lives and in business? Practice is one of the keys to reaching your goal and success. Don't focus on being perfect, strive for progress.
It is so essential to implement it! You want to get to a place where you are practicing what your goals are.
Many women have spoken out about the fear of making videos and being on social media. If you have fear, get a coach and join a mastermind to help you fear. Do it scared.
Also, don't get stuck in the stage of learning, learning, learning. You need to implement what you learn. Don’t let fear paralyze you. The best way to build a business in this economy is to build your influence. Speak into people’s lives. You won't attract everyone. You will attract your avatar and add value to that. When we practice we become more fully.
Another key in practice is to keep trying no matter the times you fail. Practice until you get it right. Make sure you are taking the time to set goals daily. Change your mindset. No matter what it is that we are implementing the more we do it the better we get on it. People want to experience things and learn. If they are looking for your services, share them on social media. Build relationships first. Start with questions and engagements. Practicing our business in a manner that adds value to others is powerful. Success is one step at a time.

Today our topic is Efficiency. It can be something we struggle with! As models to our team, it is imperative that we model it and teach them. Part of it is time management.
Let's talk about it as a leader. How can you be more efficient? Especially in these tough times. How are you meeting your goals? Even on a weekly basis, have a set of goals and make a plan of action. Take your day and breakdown, make a plan of action and follow it to achieve your goal and not get distracted. A key factor to doing it is accepting that you don't have to be an expert!
Make sure you are focused on your goals, purpose, dreams, and your visions. Help your team, know your team to plan what’s important to them, not just your cooperation.
Your team will be more efficient when the family is prioritized. They will complain less and make sure they know we value them. Overturn of people can be expensive. We as leaders work as visionary and communicate well to our team the vision and purpose. Delegate! Delegate! will make your team more efficient!
Make sure you have clear communication. Make sure your team understands your directions. Team members can get very frustrated if the communication is not translated as you meant. Take time to be clear. Your number one priority is to be clear and to be efficient. When you are modeling good management skills you will be more productive and help save money. The 3 key things: Give Clear directions, Manage your time well, Work on your business, not in your business, and Delegate!

One day Danelle poured out her life to a woman that introduced her to her sister and is now Danelle’s mentor and taught her everything that changed Danelle’s life through scripture.
She explains how we need to align ourselves with the seed of greatness that was created in us from the beginning. When you start working on yourself things will get better. The last 15 years have been an incredible ride.
How did her improved mindset change the way Danelle took care of herself? Once Danelle pointed out her weaknesses, she learned to change her behavior by trying to be seen and heard. You are the CEO and responsible to lead but true ownership will ask their team what they think. There is a 9-month biblical program you can inquire about. Your team’s voice matters, it gives them value. Is important to lead at home and in relationships including with our children.
Servant Leader= Rights. How are you serving your team? Ask questions like where you want to be in 5 years. Let your team reach their next level. Allow them to reach their potential. It helps you and them to grow your organization. There is always room to be a better leader. As informed leaders, We give up our rights to be the leader. We sacrifice for the good of our team. We are blessed to be a blessing to others. Think about Samuel in the Bible. What motivated him was people. How he needed to serve others. Ask God for revelation to serve your team. Seek wisdom and wise counsel. Put extra energy to lead better and adding value to your team.

Charlynne Boddie: From Kidnapping to Victorious
Miss Boddie was raised by a single Christian mother and is no stranger to adversity or living in the miraculous. Charlynne’s parents divorced in the late 1970s and moved to Colorado. The miracles seen and witnessed by her and her family in the years after her parent's divorce has created a strong faith in her that has taught her how to weather the storms of life and pass on that ability to others who find themselves facing hopeless situations.
Charlynne was groomed by her mother early to remember the power of the Word and the name Jesus. Growing up in a Christian home, entertainment was bible study.
On one Hot summer day, at age 16, She gets kidnapped by a serial rapist and murderer. At this moment, she recalls her mom’s words to save her life. She remembers her mom saying, when you ask if they believe in Jesus Christ, they either bend their knees or flee. Charlynn kept asking the kidnapper and asked again with more authority. He got so upset, He kicked her out of the car in 4 lane traffic. She lived to tell the story and more! She has been the only girl who survived this guy. This story is still used today by the Denver Police Department for self-defense classes.
God has taken her broken life and enabled her to fulfill her dreams of being a magazine editor; President of Women in Film; a federal spokesperson; a White House lead media officer; having the opportunity to minister to Oprah Winfrey; having her own TV show in Hollywood; becoming an author/motivational speaker and becoming a minister that travels the world for Jesus. She is always encouraging others to consider what dreams lie within them that have yet to be fulfilled.
Charlynne lives in the UK now and wants to move back to the United States.

She was born to be an entrepreneur. At an early age, Nesha experienced the loss of both parents. The grief of the defeat led her to move to another state where an event took place that changed her life forever. This life-changing event has helped her pivot in her business because she is authentic with her community.
The adversity led her to use the last $300 in her account to invest in a Certified Credit Consultant. Nesha is a leader and the first in her family to start a business. She has educated many people through her platform to get their credit fixed and to help them open their businesses. Her company works with over 100 lenders and will discuss further how each lender falls into different categories.
There are three segments in her coaching model. The basic one is the Aspiring Entrepreneur which lasts 90 days, every Sunday for 8 hours. It teaches Formation, Budget organization, and Marketing.

What is your passion? Dori found her passion and now uses it to teach others to grow their business idea.
As a former teacher, she taught Civil Engineering to high school students for 11 years. After having her own children and involving them as much as possible in her journey as a teacher, she looked into her children's elementary curriculum a bit deeper. She decided to take the Civil Engineering Course to the Elementary Level and it took off.
Ultimately this program was a success! It's in 165 locations, 35 countries, and a million students. After much research and no business background, her idea was franchised. She knew if she franchised the business idea it could impact more kids.
2 questions to ask yourself before you can Franchise the business:
Is my business successful and profitable?
Is this a business someone else can run and be successful without you?
She was confronted with complex pieces in her journey to expand her idea to the franchise. A Franchise Consultant didn’t think people would understand it. She had no business degree or knowledge. She did find an attorney and an accountant that helped give her confidence. As a leader in her community, Dori was led to believe in herself regardless of the negative opinions. Her dreams and passions were bigger. Her business Franchise idea boomed and she sold it in 2020. She now helps teachers take their dreams and visions to become a business.

You can recondition your mind regardless of your age. Alicia grew up on a Dairy Farm in Central Wisconsin. Her parents worked 7 days a week. She did not have an empowering upbringing, she grew up in a home with anger, negativity, and alcohol. One thing that resonated with her was how her mom valued being her own boss.
Alicia at age 18 started a network marketing and failed then moved at age 20 to California and started an internet storefront. But realized she didn’t have the right mindset. She ended up filing bankruptcy, but the dream did not die.

IT’S A BAD PLACE TO BE!
If we settle for our Comfort Zone, it means all that we are today is all that we are ever going to be!
There are two Comfort Zone Foundations: Habit and Belief
Habit:
• Habit actions that express themselves without any Conscious awareness
• Non-Adaptive
• IQ of 0- they do what they are programmed to do
• 80%-90% of our daily actions are habitual we don’t think about what we do!
Belief:
• Stored in Subconscious mind like habits
• Based upon our evaluation of things
• Self-Limiting belief- One that holds us back from moving in the direction that we want
• Results of a learning process-not necessarily a true reflection of reality
• Formed through repetition & Emotion – the more emotion the more powerful the belief
• The CREATOR of our reality – our adopted beliefs become true for us
Growth happens Outside the Comfort Zone. Growth comes with struggles, confusion, pain, and fear. Growth is good. We need to be uncomfortable and self-examine ourselves more often.

Suria Schultz has loved traveling throughout her life, she was called in her passion and went on a mission trip. She meets her husband in India. They lived in India and later moved to Africa. One of their many dreams was to adopt children once married. They adopted 9, Fostered 5, and have 2 biological children.
Every Season in our life is different. How to be Christlike in a crisis is very challenging for us. The raising your kids season held her down to do what she loves most, her mission trips. Suria discusses the see-saw effect in our lives as women when we try to be Mary in one season and then Martha in another. Appreciate what God is doing in your life in every moment and not see people as interruptions.
In this new season of her life, the children are grown and gone. She is experiencing the second half of her life which she says, “it’s more exciting”. She wants women to move upward, collaborates, and remember that we can’t do anything of eternal value without the vine. Re-evaluate your life constantly and keep Christ in the center of your life.
Her advice is to keep challenging ourselves. Keep growing and getting closer to the vine. Keep dreaming and encouraging one another by sharing your story. We are God’s masterpiece to collaborate with each other as women and not compete. Keep an eternal mindset, One Kingdom One Destiny.

Dede Lomenick, A God-fearing woman and leader in her community discusses the challenges and transitions she faced that ultimately led her to reinvent her life.
After a season of illness, 9 years, and many months in bed Dede discovered her niche. Once she was well, an opportunity fell in her lap to do comedy. This was a lifelong dream! Unleashed- was born. Comedy is a tool that allows us to see what we have in common and let down our defenses. This was Dede’s opportunity to meet other women and connect through her stories.
Through a series of losses, her marriage, her father, relocating to a new city, and going through grief, she understands this is what God allowed her to experience. The reinventing of her new life, though challenging, it’s all for His Glory. This is the time when there is no other option but God. Celebrated chef, Lenore Nolan Ryan began her career at 19 with a brunch restaurant in Indianapolis. In the late ’70s, she moved to San Francisco, fell in love, duplicated her brunch, and enjoyed notoriety when she opened a neighborhood restaurant, catering company, wine bar, cooking school, and the retail market called, “Ryan’s”.

Welcome back, Masterpiece Women. Today’s podcast is the last in this series of the study of Exodus. What an incredible book this is to study. I hope you have enjoyed it as much as I have. There has been so much rich content. Don't you love how you can read things in the Bible many times and yet God will reveal different things each time depending on the season and whatever it is that he would like for you to receive from it? This study has been incredible for me. I hope you experienced the same. There were so many leadership lessons to learn. In chapters 37 through 40 we see the building of the ark of the covenant, table, lampstand, incense altar, the altar of burnt offering, the washbasin, and courtyard. we see the incredible inventory of materials that were used. We also see the clothing of the priests as well as the set-up of the Tabernacle. There were so many details and so much material used. Think about where they received the materials from. Do you remember earlier in Exodus when the Egyptians gave them so many of their valuables just to get rid of the Israelites? It is amazing to watch what God will use to accomplish His goals. I literally just got off the phone today with a dear friend of mine, Kimberly Bradley. She and I climbed Mount Kilimanjaro together in 2012. She shared how God has called her and her family to move to Malawi Africa to serve the people there as missionaries. It is incredible to me to think of all the details that have gone into the last 10 years alone of planning for this move.
You see the organization that she and her husband will be serving under is an organization led by a mutual friend of ours who was on our team when we climbed Mount Kilimanjaro. It is a beautiful picture of how God orchestrates every detail and works everything out for his glory for those who love him. It also takes our obedience. This month, our mutual friend who was on our Kilimanjaro team, was in the country. She and her husband worked with me when I lead the freedom climb movement. A movement where we climbed crazy mountains like Mt. Kilimanjaro, (twice), base camp Everest, and many other mountains to raise awareness and funds for projects around the world addressing human trafficking and oppression of women and children. She was the leader of the Africa movement, and I was the leader of the US and partnered with Cathey Anderson to lead the entire global initiative. I was blessed to spend time with them when they were in South Florida. It was so exciting to visit with my friend Suria and her husband as they shared the vision of their mission organization and we dreamed of how masterpiece women are going to collaborate with them.
During their trip, they also went to Tennessee and met with our other friend that I just spoke to today, Kimberly. Kimberly happened to be one of the first friends I reached out to when I left the freedom climb movement. Kimberly was the first person to tell me that I should start my own ministry. At the time, I was a bit burned out with ministry and said: “absolutely not”. However, she and I dreamed about a name, and I purchased the websites for “Masterpiece Women” having a tug in my spirit to do so, but not ready in my flesh. God had already given me the scripture Ephesians 2:10 years before so I knew exactly what I would call it. Fast forward, my two girlfriends are making plans to make a huge impact in the country of Malawi, and Masterpiece Women will also be a part of that.
God has been planting seeds and calling Kimberly and her husband Steve to go out into the mission field full-time in Africa for years. He is doing his doctoral dissertation on the country. She was sharing all the details of how God had been calling them. Looking back and seeing how God developed those deep roots and relationships when the three of us were on the same team at Mount Kilimanjaro and how He has continued to link us for His purpose is incredible to me. I think about how the Lord orchestrated that whole thing and all the steps in between that He has put in place for such a time as this. We simply have the privilege of being a part of it because we choose to be obedient. I do not doubt for a minute He would have used somebody else had we not been. He is sovereign. I'm simply blessed beyond words to be a part of what the Lord is doing. Moses was used by God because he was obedient. Moses was blessed beyond measure because of his obedience. It wasn't always easy for Moses as we see the difficulties throughout this entire book. He could have given up. He chose to pursue God, and defend the people he was serving, and God used him incredibly.
In chapter 40 we see how Moses leads the set of the Tabernacle exactly as the Lord had instructed him to. What a beautiful picture of how the Lord once again showed up and was very explicit in His instructions to Moses and the people. We see Moses, the leader, following His instructions so explicitly. He follows every detail, and we see the blessings that the people receive from that obedience. At the end of chapter 40 we see that the Lord's glory fills the Tabernacle.
Ladies as we close this study and conclude the book of exodus, I want to challenge you. What instructions has God given you that you have not followed? How is he calling you to pivot or simply continue to step forward? Are you being obedient to every detail? Are you taking the time to spend with Him to hear His instructions? I want to encourage you to go back and study what the Lord has shown you throughout this time. Be sure you are journaling so that you can go back and see all that God is doing in your life. He reveals himself so incredibly in his word and in our journaling. Be blessed ladies! Jesus loves you and so do I!

She is the founder and president of Daughters Of Zion Women of Destiny. Darlene is also a teacher, prophetic intercessor, exhorter, counselor, life coach, and author of the book Dwelling in The Secret Place.
Darlene believes that she is in the prime of her life and has a “passion to see men and women find their true identity in Christ and discover their divine purpose".
Darlene holds a Master’s degree in Organizational Leadership from Biola University, a Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality Management from Florida International University, and is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Divinity at the University of Fort Lauderdale. Her professional background is in Sales and Marketing in the Hotel & Tourism Industry. She reigned as Ms. Bahamas and participated in the Miss Universe Pageant.
Darlene feels that her most valuable life achievement was in October 1987 when she gave her life to the Lord Jesus Christ. Darlene has lived and traveled all over the world and has been very active in numerous Ministries; in the Bahamas under Dr. Myles Munroe, in Los Angeles with Pastors Andre & Sandra Crouch and Bishop Clarence McClendon, and now Bishop Henry Fernandez in Florida. She has also served in the areas of prophetic intercession, praise & worship; altar worker, inner healing counselor, teaching, women’s ministry, and special events.
Welcome back, Masterpiece Women. This week, we are in chapters 34 through 36 of Exodus.
In chapter 34 verses 5-7, we see that “The Lord comes down in a cloud and He stands over Moses and He calls out His own name, Yahweh. The Lord passed in front of Moses, calling out, “Yahweh! The Lord! The God of compassion and mercy! I am slow to anger and filled with unfailing love and faithfulness. I lavish unfailing love to a thousand generations. I forgive iniquity, rebellion, and sin. But I do not excuse the guilty. I lay the sins of the parents upon their children and grandchildren; the entire family is affected- even children in the 3rd and 4th generations.”
These were the basis of his renewal of the covenant. God's unfailing love and his generous desire to forgive are not a weakness. They are also not a reason to choose to sin. We see in these passages that Moses asks the Lord to travel with him and the people. He asks the Lord to make them his special possession. In verses 10 through 11, we see God commits to caring once again for the people in a miraculous way. The Lord also makes it very clear in the passages that “idolatry will not be tolerated.” In verse 14, he says “You must worship no other gods for the Lord, whose very name is Jealous, is a God who is jealous about his relationship with you.” Further in the same chapter, we see the Lord repeating the importance of the festival of unleavened bread, sacrificing the firstborn, the Sabbath, a celebration of the festival of harvest, a Passover sacrifice, and He has Moses rewrite on the tablets. Moses remained there for 40 days and 40 nights. When he comes off of the mountain, we see that he is radiant. When I am in the word and spending time with the Lord, I feel radiant don't you? I feel radiant from the inside out. I can picture Moses and the feeling he must have had when he spent that time with the Lord and knowing the sovereignty and the loving God of the universe chose for him to come to spend those 40 days and 40 nights with him. In verse 33, we see that Moses was glowing so greatly, that he had to cover his face with a veil. Wow! Can you picture it? In 2 Corinthians 3:17-18, Paul applies Moses’ experience to Christians who by faith see the glory of Jesus Christ in the word and experience a spiritual transformation.
In chapter 35, he starts talking about the Sabbath once again. Do you think taking a Sabbath is important? Do you see how many times he repeats that over and over throughout these chapters? I believe it is a message to all of us. Yes, build our business and ministries, and take a Sabbath weekly. In Chapter 35: 4-7, we see that the Lord commands a sacrifice, however, gives many options for the sacrifices. I love how the variety of gifts opens the opportunity for those making sacrifices to have more options to sacrifice to the Lord. It reflects the body of Christ and how we all have different gifts, talents, and treasures. He values it all. He creates it all for a purpose and a plan. The greatest point I catch here is that He wants us to sacrifice to him and put him first. What are you seeing in this chapter? What are your gifts, talents, and treasures? How are you using them for God’s glory?
In chapter 36, we see that Bezalel and Oholiab are all gifted and skilled Craftsmen. They are called to construct the Tabernacle. But what is it that they use? In Chapter 36 verses 3-5, we see “Moses gave them the materials donated by the people of Israel as sacred offerings for the completion of the sanctuary. But the people continued to bring additional gifts each morning. Finally, the Craftsmen who were working on the sanctuary left their work. They went to Moses and reported, “the people have given us more than enough materials to complete the job the Lord has commanded us to do!” Each person was able to sacrifice and glorify the Lord with their gifts, treasures, and talents. They had more than they needed. They had to tell the people to stop sacrificing. This is a beautiful picture of generosity. The heart to sacrifice and give out of abundance versus scarcity is such a gift to that giving. Can you imagine if the ministries in our community had to say stop giving because we have more than we need? What if we gave as much as we spend on luxuries? How much do we really need to live on?
I had a conversation recently with one of my friends and as we reflected on the conversation, we both realized how first world countries our thoughts and conversation was. While we worry about the luxuries, many people around the world are dying and becoming refugees due to war, being human trafficked, starving, do not have clean water, and need Jesus. Well, that certainly puts it into perspective. What could you sacrifice today? I'm going to encourage you if you are not making an impact in the world with your time, talent or treasures, ask God how he wants to use you in that way. He has called us to be a living sacrifice. Are you giving him your finest of time treasures, and talents? Or are you giving him your scraps? He has great plans for us and He wants us to use the gifts that he gives us to make an impact and not just for selfish gain. I want to challenge each of us to do something for someone else this week. What can you do? Who can you help? The beautiful thing about giving is that it is so much richer to give than it is to receive. Nothing makes my heart smile greater than to see a life impacted by my gift, talent, or treasure. Go be a blessing to someone today ladies.

As a former speech, language, and hearing therapist, Hettie worked in a multi-disciplinary practice alongside a pediatrician, psychologist, occupational therapist, and other speech therapists. She gained extensive experience in therapy and parental guidance. She also pioneered an educational upliftment project in Proclamation Hill where she worked with many challenging children, dealing with everything from nutrition and computer skills to molestation and spiritual counseling. Hettie is the developer of the Evergreen Parenting Course and heads up a group of more than 200 facilitators in 8 countries who use the course to help families. Hettie and her husband, Louis, have 3 children.

She uses her passion for art to tell the world about God. Maritza shares we shouldn't limit ourselves, especially with our calling. We shouldn't put our calling in a box but we should aim at a daily basis to meet our real calling which is to be more like Christ. If we understand this, we should do whatever we can to draw people closer to God.
Maritza also explains that we are not for everybody. As to how Christ was rejected even by His people, we can also expect rejections. It will be painful but it is real. Let us remind ourselves of our real purpose which is to magnify the Lord; though, we will be rejected - it's okay.
Let's look at what Matthew 5:10-12 says...
"10 Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 11 Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. 12 Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for, in the same way, they persecuted the prophets who were before you."

Welcome back, ladies! Today we're going to dig into chapters 30 one through 32 of the book of Exodus. When we look at chapter 31 and we read in the 12th verse, the Lord emphasizes again the Sabbath. Again, in verse 12 he says “then the Lord said to Moses, “Say to the Israelites, you must observe my Sabbath. This will be a sign between me and you for the generations to come, so you may know that I am the Lord, who will make you holy.” Once again as many times before in Exodus the Lord says, “I am Lord”. When he finished speaking to Moses, he gave him the two tablets inscribed by the Lord. Can you picture Moses at the top of the mountain? The whole chapter is about the Israelites observing the Sabbath. He was very clear he wanted them to observe the sabbath from generation to generation. Are you taking the time to take your Sabbath? I encourage you ladies if you are not taking time for yourself, take some time and enjoy your own Sabbath. It is a sweet gift to yourself.
In chapter 32, what happens? The Israelites felt like Moses had taken too long to return. So what do they do? They look for a new leader. In Exodus 32:1-6, we see a perfect example of the law of respect. One of the 21 laws of leadership by John Maxwell. They requested that Aaron take leadership and help them build the golden calf. Why did they do that?
- People are like sheep. They are always going to be looking for a leader.
- People want instant gratification. They focus on their immediate needs.
- People often have the attitude of “What have you done for me lately?” from their leaders. They have memory loss.
- People are often insecure. They worry and look for immediate signs of hope.
In verse 7 the Lord sends Moses back down because of what the people are doing. Moses pleaded with the Lord to not destroy all of them and sought favor for the people. The Lord was angry. In the rest of the chapter we see Moses take the lead, he orders the men to destroy those who have betrayed the Lord and We see him going back to the Lord on behalf of the people. Moses was a great leader.
This chapter reminded me of the brokenness that I have often seen in myself and others. How often does the Lord call us to one thing, we don't see instant results, so we try to take the controls back ourselves. He wants every aspect of our lives surrendered to him. He wants our goals, ministries, businesses, families, children, dreams, time, talents, and treasures all surrendered to him. He does not want his people to be people of instant gratification. What are you waiting on the Lord for? Have you tried to take the controls back? It reminds me of the analogy of fishing. We cast our bait out on our fishing rod, and instead of being patient and waiting for the fish to bite, we reel it back in and tried to take control again. He wants us to cast it out and leave it out for him to manage.
In chapter 33 we see the “law of the picture” another one of the 21 laws of leadership by John Maxwell. Modeling provides the basis of all true leadership. We as leaders must set the example for those we lead. People do what people see. What are you modeling? Integrity? Persistence? Godly attributes? Pay attention to how you are modeling. When we look at the model that Moses was, we see that he was in intimate communion and relationship with the Lord. His example was greater than any sermon he could have preached to them. We see that Moses would separate himself from the crowd and seek the Lord with all his heart. He was watched by those around him. It made an impact on them. He listened to the Lord and was faithful and committed to God. God is calling us to that level of intimacy and leadership.
What areas do you need to evaluate today? How are you leading by example? Are those around you seeing you serve and draw close to the Lord? Are you making the tough decisions that need to be made as Moses did? Being a leader doesn't mean that it will be easy. The struggles are real. Let's choose today to give him all our time talent and treasure. Let's surrender completely to him.

Chapters 28 to 30 are all about the priestly garments, the consecration of the Priests, and the altar of incense. In chapters 28 & 29 we see that the priests were chosen.
1. They are chosen to serve God.
2. They are chosen to serve the People.
3. They were to serve in fear of God.
4. They must be consecrated.
5. They did this daily.
We are anointed by the spirit of God, we are to serve others, fear God, repent and daily seek a relationship with our Father. He wants us to hear his voice, surrender, and obey.
Each morning the priests were to offer a burning sacrifice to the Lord. They were to clean their hands and feet before entering. The Lord wants us pure at heart and cleansed of our bondage and sin. This is a daily event. We are all sinners and fall short. Because of Jesus, we simply lay it down at the altar daily, repent, cleanse our minds with the word of God (John 17:17) and seek the Lord’s strength for that day to do what He is calling us to do.
Every day, all day is a day to follow His calling in our lives and be in communion with
HIM. Let us be a living sacrifice to our Savior. In the bible, burning incense is
often seen as a picture of prayer. (Psalm 141:2- “May my prayer be set before you like
incense; may the lifting up of my hands are like the evening sacrifice.”, Revelations 5:8 “
When he took it, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb. Each of the elders held a harp and gold bowls filled with incense, which are the prayers of the holy ones. those from every tribe and tongue, people and nation.” Revelations 8:3-4 “Another angel, who had a golden censer, came and stood at the altar. He was given much incense to offer, with the prayers of all God’s people, on the golden altar in front of the throne. The smoke of the incense, together with the prayers of God’s people, went up before God from the angel’s hand.”, Luke 1:8-10 “Once when Zechariah’s division was on duty and he was serving as a priest before God, he was chosen by lot, according to the custom of the priesthood, to go into the temple of the Lord and burn incense. And when the time for the burning of incense came, all the assembled worshipers were praying outside.” Prayer is a gift from our Father. In Hebrews 10:19-25, we see that because of our Lord Jesus Christ, believers today can go right through the veil into the presence of our Savior. Jesus intercedes on our behalf.
The Lord is calling us to be in a continuous state of prayer. The incense had to be salted (Exodus 30:35). Salt is a symbol of purity. He wants our hearts to be pure and free from anger or disputing, 1 Timothy 2:8 “ Therefore I want the men everywhere to pray, lifting up holy hands without anger or disputing.” The Lord is calling us to a new level of prayer, holiness, and worship. What is so beautiful about His calling is that it is
such a blessing to us! It is a gift that we can pray without ceasing, worship our savior, and be free. God does not want us in the bondage of anger, unforgiveness, or other. He is working it all out for His glory.
I want to share a story with you. We just had a Masterpiece Women luncheon this last week. I watched the Lord reveal himself so magnificently. It was a picture of his children hearing his voice, surrendering, obeying, and stepping out in faith. At the luncheon, one of the ministry leaders that I adore had a vendor table and met a friend of mine. The beautiful picture of this meeting was that my friend who is the ministry leader and I met recently because my husband met her and knew that God wanted me to meet her so he arranged it. He was so right. She has been estranged from her daughter for over five years. She has been praying for her daughter and for reconciliation. She has been praying for a woman to be ministering and discipling her
daughter. At the luncheon, the Lord gave her the privilege of meeting the woman who has been discipling and loving her daughter for the last five years. This woman even helped her daughter adopt a child. That woman was my friend that I met in 2012 when she volunteered to go to India to serve in one of our rescue homes for young girls.
This story is for the person who is struggling to see where the Lord is taking them. In 2006 I rededicated my life to the Lord. I went on a journey of healing, and intimacy with the Lord and began to serve in different capacities. I knew God had said I was to use my gifts and talents for Him versus what I was currently doing. I thought that meant I would simply get off of all of the boards I was on that were not Christian ministries and get on boards for Christian ministries. He called me to India kicking and screaming. I went on my first mission trip. That is where he wrecked me for the issues of human trafficking and the exploitation of women and children. It is also where He asked me to share my testimony for the first time in public. I shared my story of abuse and poverty. I shared my brokenness. At the time, people knew me as a businesswoman in our community. Many had been to my home for the large parties, boats, and fun. I was serving as one of the leaders of our singles ministry. I recognized that day, that the Lord wanted me to share my testimony more. I saw the impact it had on our team. I also felt how painful it was for me to share. He still had lots of work to do for me! When I returned from India, I knew I wanted to do something to help the people of India but I had no idea how. I waited on the Lord and he revealed himself clearly. He called me to climb Mount Kilimanjaro in 2010 to raise funds and awareness for projects around the world addressing human trafficking and the exploitation of women and children. Had I not been growing, in relationship with him, praying fervently daily, in the word, and surrendered to His will, I would have never gone to India. When he called me to climb the mountain, it was to raise awareness and funds for the projects I had seen in India. He then called me to lead the entire ministry. He spoke to Cathey Anderson my ministry partner and another team member. They asked me to consider the position when we were on the mountain. I knew that he was calling me there. It was not because I liked climbing mountains, but because I knew that was my calling.
I share these details because as you see it started with one person being obedient but it took many others in the path to say yes to God to get us to the place of connecting these two lives this week. When I started counting how many people were involved in hearing God’s voice, saying yes to God, being obedient to move forward, and ultimately accomplishing what the Lord had planned, there were dozens. He loves his daughter so much, that he wanted her to see that he was providing for her daughter. He wanted her to meet the woman who has been caring for her during their estrangement. He wanted to give all of us around them the gift of watching his power, provision, love, attention to detail, creation of a movement, and the blessing it is to follow him. Wow! What a gift it is for us to be obedient and hear from God. He has every detailed plan. He promises to provide for those who love him. If you're discouraged today and feel like the Lord hasn't heard a prayer, don't give up. He hears your prayer and your cries. He loves you so much and has incredible plans for you. The story isn't over for my friends, for you, or any of us. We are all praying for divine reconciliation. I believe God is bringing his girls together for an incredible purpose and plan. It starts with our daily walk with prayer, worship, and the cleansing of our minds and spirits by reading the word.
What are you praying for? Trust Him! He has a plan. In due time He will reveal it. Seek the Lord, Surrender to Him and Obey Him. He will do the rest. He will guide you.

About Regina:
As the daughter of a 30-year Navy Veteran, Regina learned early in life the value of adaptability, service, and connection.
During her 10-year career with Keller Williams Realty, Regina was best known for teaching personal growth and communication classes while wholehearted living out the KW values including creating a culture where no one wants to leave. As a result, she was twice awarded the prestigious office culture award and named a 2018 Southeast Region Culture Ambassador.
Her time at KW, shined a light on her love of people and speaking, it also unleashed her natural superpower of connecting. She took the inevitable next step and joined Toastmasters. In 2013, in front of four hundred people, Regina competed as one of six finalists in the International Speaking competition for the entire state of Georgia. From there, the call grew louder. In 2015, Regina became a John Maxwell coach and consultant. Just 3 years later, she was selected for the Maxwell DISC Method Faculty.
Regina’s mission has become clear: to boldly reconnect others to the best in themselves, others, and life. Hi ladies! Welcome back to our study in exodus. Today we will be looking at Exodus 25, 26, and 27. These three chapters as well as 28-31 are all about building the tabernacle. The Tabernacle function primarily as a residence or palace for God. In chapters 25 through 27 Start with the center and then move out to the courtyard. As you read through this, did you notice that he said some things over and over? One, they were to use acacia wood. He also instructed them over and over to use solid gold. He instructed them to use the colors blue, purple, and scarlet. God always has a plan, whether it be building a Tabernacle, a temple, a church, a ministry, or our personal path and Christian life (Ephesians 2:10). These chapters reveal how specific He is. The detail that he went into in explaining exactly what he wanted the Tabernacle to be built reveals to us that he is paying attention to every single detail of our lives as well.
There were specific materials needed:
- Gold -some estimate over a ton of gold was used
- silver
- Bronze
- fabrics
- wood
- skins
- olive oil
- spices
- precious stones
Where did they get all of these materials? Remember back in the prior chapters the Egyptians gave them much wealth. They had “spoiled them”. Again, he had a plan the whole time. God saw to it that they had everything they needed to build it Just the way he wanted it. The Lord always equips those he calls.
He was specific in the materials, dimensions, and colors he wanted to use. The materials he required were of great value. God must be put first. The Lord also required food offerings. (the bread) What was most valuable to the Israelites? What is most valuable to you? Are you giving him your finest? Is God calling you to give him more of your time, treasure, and talents? This candlestick that was made must have been absolutely beautiful. They used 75 pounds of gold. It had six branches decorated with almond flowers, buds, and blossoms. It was kept burning constantly. As I'm writing this and doing this study it reminded me of you. God has created you so beautifully. You have so many gifts and talents. He is so specific in these chapters and in every detail. He was just as specific when he created you. He created us in his image. He thought of every detail of our personality, our physical attributes, and the plans he has. He knew that we would suffer. He knew all of our victories and our failures. He knew it all.
The candlestick also reminds us of the Israelites' “a light to the Gentiles" (Isaiah 49:6) the light was placed not in public sight but in a private place. When the Israelites began to worship idols is when they lost their witness to the gentiles. The public could not see what the priests were doing. That was their private responsibility and sacrifice to the Lord. It wasn't about the people seeing the lamp. This is very similar to our relationship with God. What is most important to him is our heart and intimate relationship with him.
I love the symbolism in these chapters and how we can relate it back to our relationship with Christ. Even the altar that was made of wood and covered with gold is symbolic of our savior. I am so thankful for his sacrifice and for the blessings that we have. May the Lord lead you and guide you today. May He shine His light upon you. May your light shine brightly in this dark world. May you remind yourself that God created every detail of you and you are beautifully and wonderfully made. Bask in his love today.

Exodus 21- 24
Today we are in Exodus 21 through 24. We're talking about the Book of the Covenant. This section of Exodus is dealing with basic laws. Primarily these laws deal with the protection of human life and property. These laws were based on the character of God and principles expressed in the 10 commandments. The people were asked to obey God and obligate themselves to Him.
The Book of the Covenant actually starts an Exodus 20 verses 22 to 26. In the John Maxwell Leadership Bible, they highlight the “Law of the Picture”. God establishes a clear example. His people were given the instructions and explicit consequences as well. A clear picture was laid out by God. He laid out severe consequences. People have to understand the whole picture and the consequences. Often times humans actually need a visible demonstration.
We see explicit laws and consequences in these books.
In the laws, He addressed:
- servants
- capital crimes
- children and parents
- kidnapping
- injuries
- slaves
- a pregnant woman injured
- injured by an animal
- property damage animals injured or killed
- stealing of animals
- crops
- other people’s belongings
- miscellaneous laws
- rape
- sorcery
- bestiality
- idolatry
- selfishness
- reviling authority
- delay of obeying
- defiled meat
- justice
- observing the feasts
God was very clear and addressed so many issues that are prevalent today. God left nothing out. I encourage you to read each of these chapters and ask the Lord how He would want you to apply these laws in your life. The 10 commandments and the book of the covenant are given to us by God as a rule book but also as a gift. When we love God with all our hearts we want to obey Him and be more like Him. We find it so much easier to keep his law. It doesn't mean life will be easy. It doesn't mean life will be perfect (or that we will be perfect). It does mean we can have peace and joy in the midst of it because we are right with God. God is a God of grace and He is also a God to be feared & honored. He knows our hearts. I believe the number one thing he is looking for is for us to love him with all of our hearts. When we do, we have freedom, peace, joy, and victory. There are penalties for breaking His laws. Many of my worst times in life were a consequence of sin. God didn’t cause it, however, He allowed it. Life is a choice. When we surrender to Him, we win. There is freedom and that is the greatest gift we have from following our Savior. We are His MASTERPIECE and he has great plans for us. We are all sinners. The beautiful thing is that as we get closer to Him, we choose to sin less, worship more, and grow exponentially. It is such a gift. He loves us so very much!
In chapter 24 we see where the people responded in verse 3 “Everything the Lord has said we will do.” Moses then wrote it down. In verse 12 God called Moses back to the top of the mountain where he would give him the tablets of stone with the law and commandments that God had written. Moses stayed up there for 40 days and 40 nights (verse 18).
In Exodus 24 verses 1-7 We see a great example of The Law of Buy-In: Leading Change as taken again from the John Maxwell Leadership Bible.
The Israelites are off to a new start. They had to change their lifestyles. It took shrewd leadership.
“Peter Drucker helps us to learn from Moses about how to lead people into change even in the wilderness:
Lessons from the wilderness:

Magnify the plagues. To make the pharaoh release God's people, Moses called down the plagues and he didn't stop until the old system gave way. At this stage, problems are your friend. Don't solve them; they convince people that they need to let go of the old way.

Mark the ending. What a symbolic and memorable “boundary event” Moses had in the crossing of the Red Sea! After his people walked through the waters on dry land, there was no turning back.

Deal with the “murmuring”. Don't be surprised when some lose confidence in your leadership somewhere between where they came from and where they're going. Moses heard things like, Does our leader know the way? We've never done it this way before! What was so bad about Egypt? In times of transition, look for opportunities to show concern for how your people feel; Interact with the strugglers.

Give people access to decision-makers. Thanks to Jethro, Moses appointed a new cadre of leaders to narrow the gap between the people and the decision-makers. As a result, the people felt more connected.

Capitalize on the creative opportunity of the wilderness. it was in the wilderness, not the promised land, that a big innovation took place: God handed down the 10 commandments. Some of your biggest breakthroughs will also take place in the wilderness.

Resist the urge to rush ahead. It often seems that little happens in the wilderness, but great transformation takes place there. Don't jeopardize it by hurrying ahead or removing the pain of giving birth to a new vision. Let God do his work.

Understand that “wilderness leadership” is special. Moses did not enter the promised land. His kind of leadership fit the transition time, where things seemed confusing and fluid. The nation needed Joshua to enter Canaan, because he led the military, and because a settled life required new skills. Movements and organizations don't always need a new leader, but they do require a new style of leadership once the transition is complete.”
I love how the Bible is constantly giving us great examples of leadership.
In Exodus 24:9-18, God calls us to worship him. In John 4: 23-24 God is seeking people to worship him “in spirit and in truth". “Draw near to God and he will draw near to you” James 4: 8. God created us in his image. He is calling for his people to worship him, not because we have to, but because we want to.
May you be blessed, today sister! God is doing new things and great things in you and through you. May you sense his presence greater than ever. Spend some time worshipping today. Draw close to our Father and be blessed.

Amy Carpenter is not just an expert in real estate, a professional interior designer but she is also a philanthropist. She always had that passion to give back to the community. For her, it is more important to give than to receive and more than the giving and receiving what she feels inside in giving back to the community.
The best advice Amy Carpenter received in business and life, in general, is to always “listen to your customers and hear what they are saying.” It is easy to sell to people if we listen to them and sell them what they want. Other than putting our ideas, it is also valuable to ask what our customer’s feedback and their opinions are because at the end of the day those people are the one who consumes our product and pays for it.
Amy Carpenter’s biggest mistake she made in business is she wasn’t fast enough to get herself out there. She was afraid that she wasn’t perfect enough but it is important to get yourself out there and just do it. None of us is perfect so it is important to just be ourselves and start that business we are planning to do. If you are an expert on something, be confident with yourself and do not shy away.
Amy Carpenter as an expert in real estate also shares the key elements when you want to put your house on the market. The first is to declutter. Take a photo of each room and just look at the things through the lens of the camera that are no longer needed like a stack of magazines, a pet’s toys, or clothes that are not used, and just get rid of them. Take away your personal items like wedding photos or your children’s trophies because people want to visualize themselves in your house and having too many personal items won’t help. Also, a fresh coat of neutral paint will makes wonders to freshen up your home. The third recommendation is to stage your home. Have someone come in to stage come in. People can’t visualize themselves in an empty home so staging it would be a great help. Lastly is landscaping. Make sure they are inviting, make sure that all the trees are trim, and don’t forget about the backyard and the pool area.

In Exodus 19, the Jews have arrived at Mount Sinai. The promise given in Exodus 3:12 had been fulfilled. Moses had asked the pharaoh at least eight times to let the people go into the wilderness where they could worship the Lord. Pharaoh had refused. Now the Jews are at Mount Sinai where they will meet their God. God spoke to his people and called them to a very special place. He was calling them to live a life of:
- Maturity- as we mature, we see more and more opportunities for responsible freedom.
- Dignity- The Jews were a chosen people
- Sanctity – God instructed them to change their clothes, to not go on the mountain and He spoke to them directly
- Responsibility- God called them to take responsibility for their actions and gave them guidelines on how to.
In Exodus 19:3-13, we see the law of connection played out. If you notice before God spoke His laws to the people in Exodus 20 he reminded them of three vital truths.
- The love he had for them
- The victories he'd won for them
- The future he planned for them
God spoke of blessing them, he warned them of the boundaries and taught them to survive. He then gave them the rules to keep. Remember, leaders, touch a heart before they ask for a hand.
God gives the 10 commandments:
- You shall have no other gods before me.
- You shall not make idols.
- You shall not misuse the name of the Lord your God.
- Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy.
- Honor your father and your mother.
- You shall not murder.
- You shall not commit adultery.
- You shall not steal.
- You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor.
- You shall not covet your neighbor's house.
The first four commandments deal with our responsibility towards God. The last 6 talks about our responsibility to our fellow man. If we love God with all of our hearts, we will also love others well. If we love people, we won’t steal from them, lie to them or commit adultery. We have commandments to follow and yet each one of them is a gift to us as well. The tenth commandment is about the heart. God can and will change our sinful hearts.

Masterpiece Women welcomes Kimberly Hobbs!
Kimberly Hobbs is passionate about encouraging and empowering women to follow after Jesus and that’s how her ministry “Women World leaders” started. It started as a bible study of a small group of women with 13 members and God blessed it and grew and grew.
Kimberly shared her defining moment when God showed her the verse Ephesians 3:20 which made her write a book and start a ministry and a business simultaneously together. She says that if you are a believer you have that power that works within you allowing you to do exceedingly, abundantly, and more than anything we can imagine and that is what God does for us. It’s amazing how we have that one idea and then God makes it a whole complete package.
“Have Integrity”, is the best advice Kimberly Hobbs received. Not only in her ministry and her daily walk with Jesus but also in carrying a business. Because people outside who don’t know us or who don’t know Jesus Christ are watching our life. They are watching what we do and they are listening to what comes out of our mouths. Are we backing out of what are we saying to them? It is always important to follow through with what we are preaching whether it comes to time, business, ministry, and everything we do. As God is faithful to us and His promises are true we also got to have the integrity to follow through all of what we promised to other people.
Kimberly Hobbs shares that her greatest mistake in business is having to over compromise. She wasn’t bold enough to stand for what is right even though she knows that the other person is doing completely wrong. She compromised in order to keep those people in her ministry or in her business, but she would then feel sick to her stomach. She learned to overcome that mistake. She advised masterpiece women to stand strong on their convictions, to be bold enough to stand for what is right, and correct the person who is clearly in the wrong and God will take care of the rest.
Lastly, her advice to all the ladies out there is to surrender everything to God. Surrender what you are about to do to God. Give Him all the control in whatever you do whether in business, in ministry, or in your life. If you surrender everything to God and God works in it, it will fail because that becomes God’s will.

Hi, ladies! We are reading Exodus chapters 17-18 today. There are some very valuable lessons on leadership in these books. We see in chapter 17 how God teaches his people to trust him more. In chapter 17 especially Exodus 17 verses 1-7 we see that they moved toward Mount Sinai and they're still being led by the pillar of cloud by day and the pillar of fire by night. God is building their faith and their character. When we think about God permitting difficulties, we understand that they become either a test or a temptation that can make us worse, and it's our own attitude that determines which it will be. I love reading the John Maxwell Leadership Bible. Chapter 17 shows the rod of God and talks about how God's people received an important lesson on authority when they learned to trust God for their provision. Time and time again the Lord provided for their needs. He led them and he protected them. Moses learned to depend on God as the ultimate authority. One of the keys to Moses's greatness is the statement “Moses cried out to the Lord” in Exodus 17: 4 leaders earn their authority; Few individuals just give it to someone. God earned the trust of his people and earned his authority through several means.

As great leaders, we must do the same.
In verses 1-7, Moses is pleading with the Lord and asked him what he should do. The people were getting angrier with Moses. The Lord once again gives him explicit instructions. In verse 8 we see the Amalekites came and attacked the Israelites. Moses sends Joshua out. He, Aaron, and Hur go to the top of the hill with the staff. As long as Moses kept his hands up the Israelites won, when his hands would go down, the Amalekites would start winning. So, Hur and Aaron helped hold his arms up and the Amalekites were defeated. Sisters, this is how we should be for our fellow sisters. Hold up their arms. When they are struggling, help them. Sometimes all we need is someone to be there by our side to hold our arms up when we are tired and hurting. I know for me, when I was walking through my darkest season, it was my tribe of women around me that supported me, prayed for me, and loved me through it that gave me strength (second only to the Lord himself).
I love in chapter 18 how Jethro basically teaches Moses the law of the inner circle. He teaches him to delegate delegate delegate. As leaders, we must delegate to others. We must train others in the way they should go so that they can be effective leaders in our organizations. As a leader, we cannot be control freaks. We must delegate and trust those that we train up to lead well. Give them the opportunity to fail. They will fail and that is OK. We fail and that is OK. We learn every time. In chapter 18 I also believe that he is teaching us that the Lord deserves our praise. Praising God is so much better than complaining and looking for the negative. Sometimes that is difficult when we're going through those dry seasons. Have you ever thought about Jethro previously? Do you wonder how did he hear about the wonders that were taking place? When did Moses send his family to return home?
In verses 7-8 we see that Jethro arrived. Moses respected him greatly. So, when he said to him that what you're doing is not working effectively, he listened. The nation had elders, but they weren't assisting with the day-to-day affairs. Jethro understood how critical it was for Moses to step out of the day-to-day affairs and move into a position of leadership. Moses created a system. He trained up leaders, delegated the duties, assisted them as needed, and only managed the most complicated cases. This freed him up to be the leader he was called to be. Moses didn't go to Jethro for advice on how to build the tabernacles or how to sacrifice. He went to God for that. God can use outsiders to advise us and lead us. God can use others to equip us to do the work he has called for us to do. The important thing about delegating is that it not only frees the leader up to manage the greater responsibilities, it also enables those that we are training up to grow in their faith and in their ability.

In chapter 15 vs 1-21, we see the Israelites praising God. I love how Miriam also formed a special choir of Jewish women who participated. We see it in 1 Samuel 18:6 and 2 Samuel 1:20. She is called the Prophetess. She had the courage to stand up to Moses and criticize him (Numbers 12:1-2). I love the courage of the women of the bible.
Up until this point, we did read that they were praising God, did we? They complained, they doubted, and finally, we see them praise the Lord. It takes maturity to praise God even in the difficult times in life. The Israelites were immature in their walk.
Let’s look at the 4 stanzas of their praise song:
- God’s victory is announced/ He is a warrior (vs 1-5)
- God’s weapons were described (vs 6-10)
- God’s character is extolled- His unfailing love and might (vs 11-16)
- God’s promises are fulfilled. (vs 16b-18)
It was not an easy life and God had to guide them and provide for them on a daily basis. The Israelites grumbled a ton and talked about returning to slavery. It was easy to praise God right after He parted the seas and defeated the Egyptians. It was much more difficult for them to trust him on a daily basis as they walked through the wilderness. Sound familiar? We learn daily and there were some key lessons that we can relate to in these verses.
- Trials will come! We must expect and anticipate trials. (Exodus 15:22-16:3) If you look in these scriptures, they left praising God and then start asking how they would eat and drink. Don’t get me wrong, life was tough for them, just as it is for us at times. We have to keep perspective and trust in God. When God tests us, he is wanting us to grow and become more mature. When the enemy tempts us, it is to bring out the worst in us, draw us away from God, and encourage spiritual immaturity. God wants us to be mature in our faith and for our hearts to be right. He doesn’t want us worrying about tomorrow. He wants us to trust in HIM.

God’s promises will sustain us
- God’s faithfulness – He was faithful to provide mana to the Jewish people and he will be faithful to meet your needs as well.

John 6:22-59. – God’s son feeds over 5000 people and preached “the bread of life” in Capernaum.

Obey God’s Instructions – (Exodus 16:16-31) 1 Chor. 14:33 – God is not the author of confusion. When he starts something new, he will always give instructions. We need to obey and he will bless the work of our hands.

Remember the lessons God teaches you (Exodus 16: 16-31) Obeying God’s word means light. Just as God provided the light to the Israelites as they left Egypt, He continued to guide and provide for them. He gave the law to help them. Unfortunately, just like many of us, we repeat patterns and God had to deal with us repeatedly.

Wow, the plagues are over, and the Israelites are headed out of Egypt. They are headed out of captivity. In Chapter 13 verse 2 God tells Moses to “Consecrate to me every firstborn male. The first offspring of every womb among the Israelites belongs to me, whether human or animal.” Moses announced to them that from here forward they would celebrate their freedom each year by observing a ceremony in this month. For seven days they were to omit any yeast and on the 7th day, they were to hold a celebration. This would remind them and their ancestors of how God brought them out of Egypt and captivity.
I love how God knew them so well he lead them around the desert road in lieu of through the Philistines. He knew the people would encounter war if He took them through there. He knew the people might turn back. Their faith wasn’t as strong as Moses’ faith. The Lord also provided a cloud to guide them by day and a fire by night. It never left them. Isn’t that just like our Father? He knows us so well. He provides for us so generously. In return, He asks us just like He did the Israelites, to worship HIM.
In chapter 14 we see how God set up the Egyptians for destruction. He has the Israelites turn back and go to the edge of the sea. He knew this would confuse the pharaoh. He also hardened the pharaoh’s heart again. He set out to gain glory by defeating the Egyptians. He wanted the Egyptians as well as the Israelites to know “I am Lord”.
What about Pharaoh? How did he respond? When he heard they had fled, he changed his mind. He got his army of about 600 of his finest and headed out in pursuit of them. How did the Israelites respond? They doubted Moses and God didn’t they? They were terrified. They immediately believed they were going to die in the desert. I love how Moses responds in 14:14 NIV. “The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.” Sister, what are you going through today? Do you feel like the enemy is chasing you? Surrounding you? Rest in these chapters. God will deliver you to the land of milk and honey. You are His Beloved. Just like in this chapter as we see God part the sea, provide dry land and destroy the Egyptians, He will do the same for you. Simply rest in Him. Just like Moses, we have the power of the Holy Spirit! The visual we see of HIS POWER to fight our battles is profound. We just have to trust Him. (even when we don’t feel it or see it) He will part the seas. He will protect us. If He calls us, he will equip us, guide us and not leave us.

What did God show you in Exodus 9 & 10? In 10, we saw the plague of the darkness and we saw the pharaoh continue to harden his heart. His sin grew worse and worse. Moses left angry. In chapter 11, we see that Moses is highly regarded by the Egyptians and the Israelites alike. We see him tell the pharaoh that at midnight the Lord will pass through the land and kill every firstborn son. This was significant in many ways.
- The Egyptians worshipped life. They gave great attention to the preparations of births and deaths.
- In the Egyptian culture, the firstborn sons were considered sacred.
- God calls Israel His firstborn. (Ex 4:22; Jer. 31;9; Hosea 11:1)
- At the beginning of the conflict, Moses had warned Pharaoh that the way he treated God’s firstborn would determine how God treated Egypt’s firstborn. (Ex. 4:22-23) Pharaoh had tried to kill the Jewish male babies and his soldiers had brutally mistreated the Jewish people. The Lord was repaying the pharaoh back.
This is truly a great example of Galatians 6:7 that says God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. Egypt is about to reap what the pharaoh sewed. At the end of chapter 11, Moses leaves hot with anger! It didn’t have to be this way…. God told Moses Pharaoh wouldn’t listen even after they did all the miracles and the plagues.
In chapter 12, the Lord gives Moses and Aaron very explicit instructions for the Passover and festival of unleavened bread. He prepared them with all the details. Told them to be ready. He warned them to put the blood on the doorways as He would pass through that night and strike down every firstborn of both the people and animals. Again, He repeats “I am the Lord”.
God told them how they could spare the lives of the Hebrew firstborn sons. Just like any great leader, communication is key. God communicates to us in so many ways. We must be prepared and listen closely.
I think it would be a shame if we didn’t recognize Moses as the 360-degree leader he was. We see the story of him leading his people out of Egypt and it is a very vivid illustration of it. He had the position, he grew up in the pharaoh’s palace, however, he gave it all up to become a shepherd in the wilderness for 40 years. He then returns back with no title or position and is tasked with convincing Pharaoh to release the entire population of slaves in Egypt. He also had to convince the Jewish people that he was worth following. He had zero experience or credibility with them. He had to depend on influencing through things other than position.

- His connection with God – The story and glory of the burning bush.
- His abilities and anointing – God confirmed his words with plagues and miracles.
- His sacrifice – He left his earlier position in order to fulfill a difficult calling.
- His wisdom - He knew what to do and where to go as he gave instructions.
- His humility – he was considered the most humble leader of his time.
As we lead others, it is imperative we pay attention to how we are leading others.
In verse 29, we see where God swept through at midnight and struck down all of the firstborn in Egypt. There was a great wailing. There was not a house in Egypt that did not have someone dead. Then pharaoh summons Moses and Aaron and orders them to leave just as the Lord had said. In verse 35, we see how the Israelites received articles of silver and gold from the Egyptians. In 37 they leave. There were approximately 600,000 men along with women, children, and livestock. After 430 years of living in Egypt, the Israelite people were leaving. The Lord kept his promise to bring His People out of the land of Egypt and he used a humble leader to do it. The Lord gave explicit instructions regarding the Passover and the people left Egypt like an army.
Wow! Finally! They are on their way! I feel excited for them just reading this chapter. It is just like us when we are in bondage. Once we are delivered from the bondage, the freedom is so overwhelming. Unlike the Jews, we do not have to stay in captivity for 430 years. The Lord Jesus came so we could be free. We simply have to surrender it to the Lord. He is faithful to forgive and to complete the good work He has begun.
Is there something the Lord is calling you to surrender today? Lord, today, we choose to surrender all. Soften our hearts and minds to hear your voice. Deliver us from temptation and sin. Forgive us for __________________, ______________________, _________________ and reveal to us anything hidden in us that is not of you, that we might surrender it as well. We surrender our will and our hearts completely to you! We love you, Lord! Thank you for your freedom and deliverance. Develop in us the character of humility. Let us serve others humbly and without pride. Let us be the 360-degree leader Moses was. Let us leave a legacy of humble, surrendered servants.

Masterpiece Women welcomes Dr. Juli Slattery!
Dr. Juli Slattery is a clinical psychologist, author, speaker, and the president/co-founder of Authentic Intimacy. In this blog, she shares the difference between a dream and a calling. There is a distinct difference between the two but our mind often gets blurry. The purpose of life is sometimes different from our dreams and when Juli pushed towards her calling, she was living her dream job. She had to give it up because oftentimes we have to let go of our dreams to pursue God's calling, to pursue God's purpose in our lives.
(From 2008-2012, Dr. Slattery served at Focus on the Family writing, teaching, and co-hosting the Focus on the Family Broadcast. In 2012, she left Focus on the Family to start Authentic Intimacy, a ministry devoted to reclaiming God’s design for sexuality. In 2020, Juli launched SexualDiscipleship.com, a platform designed to help Christian leaders navigate sexual issues and questions with gospel-centered truth.)
In this podcast, we will have an insight into when Juli experienced struggle and failure when she started her ministry. She learned to retreat, to step back, and to trust God more. As a leader, Juli learned that she should have a vision and have the confidence to implement what's necessary to obtain the vision God gave her.

Hi ladies, I hope you are enjoying these chapters as much as I am. What is God showing you? I would love to hear from you. The feedback has been wonderful so far. Exodus is such a great book to dig deep into. There are so many great lessons. Do you feel like chapters 6-10 repeat themselves? What was God adamant about? Why was He repeating himself? Why did God choose the plagues He chose?
In chapter 9, God chose the plague of the livestock and the plague of the boils. He could have chosen anything. However, He knew what would be the most impactful to the people. What would show HIS power to Egyptians and the Israelites? He chose very specific plagues for specific purposes and because He knew the outcomes He would achieve. Personally, there is something very freeing to knowing my Yahweh knows exactly what, when, how, why, and where He is doing things on my behalf. In Exodus, he is doing it on behalf of his beloved Israelites even though they were rebellious themselves. Doesn’t that give you comfort? Doesn’t it also give you comfort that He keeps His promises? Every time pharaoh repented, He followed through with the blessing of stopping the plagues. Then what happened? Pharaoh lied and another one would start all over. Did he think it would go unpunished? Did he think God would not keep his word?
Pharaoh was so filled with pride he continued to refuse. God hit him where it hurt. He revealed himself to be more powerful and sovereign over the gods that the Egyptians believed in. In chapter 9 when He sent the hail, did you notice He sent it everywhere except Goshem where the Israelites were? This time, in 9:27 the pharaoh actually admits he has sinned. Moses tells him he doesn’t believe that they do not fear the Lord God.
In the John Maxwell study bible, I love how it refers back to the 21 laws of leadership constantly. Chapter 9 talks about the plagues and the law of victory. The law of victory teaches that leaders find a way for the team to win. In this case, it took many plagues to accomplish the goal. Look at Moses’ attitude. What enabled Moses to win the victory he sought?
- He was patient (7:2-3)
- He was consistent (7:4-7)
- He was discerning (8:10-11)
- He was prayerful (8:12)
- He was tenacious (11:1)
- He was credible (11:3)
I believe God is giving us much more than a demonstration of His power, protection, a calling to worship, and assurance he answers prayers. I believe He is also giving us great examples of both great and bad leadership. Who do we want to emulate?
In chapter 10, we see Pharaoh finally say yes to Moses. Then what happened? He wouldn’t let him take the women and children. The locusts then came to Egypt and once again Pharaoh repented and said he had sinned the locusts left and once again he denied God. In vs 20, it says God hardened his heart again. So God is telling Him to release the people and yet He continues to harden his heart. Then the darkness came. Each plague seemed to get one step further, however, it was not enough. After the darkness Pharaoh would let them take the women and children now, but not the livestock. That will not work. Moses tells him they must take the livestock to make sacrifices to God. This time pharaoh tells Moses to never come back. Moses agreed he would not return.
Pharaoh’s attitude was “my way or the highway”. Do you know leaders like that? They will not listen to others, will they? They are so arrogant and prideful. Pharaoh’s pride led to arrogance which lead to rigidity. His way led the Israelites to the promised land and his people to the bottom of the sea. Pride and arrogance have no room in leadership.
Today at Lifework Leadership, Jim Morgan spoke. He is the former CEO of Krispy Kreme doughnuts. He spoke on the topic of humility. It reminded me of the leader that Moses was. He also had a great point about confidence vs humility. “Don’t confuse self-doubt with humility.” We must be humble servants and remember we can do anything God calls us to. These chapters have emphasized that over and over. God is in control. He shared a sheet of the lies the enemy tells us and the truth of God. It is so good. Here are a few for you to ponder
You say “I can’t do it.”
God says “You can do all things.” Philippians 4:13
You say “I am not able.”
God says “I am able.” II Corinthians 9:8
You say “It’s not worth it.”
God says “It will be worth it.” Romans 8:28
You say “I can’t forgive myself.”
God says “ I forgive you.” 1 John 1:9 & Romans 8:1
You say “I am afraid.”
God says “ I have not given you a spirit of fear.” II Timothy 1:7
You say “I’m not smart enough.”
God says “ I give you wisdom” I Corinthians 1:30
You say “ I feel alone.”
God says “ I will never leave you or forsake you. Hebrews 13:5
Lord thank you for this study, your word, and for revealing yourself to us in new ways. Continue to prune our pride. Remove any remnants of pride or arrogance. Let us serve you as Moses did. Thank you for answering our prayers, for being a good good father, and for showing us the path so clearly. Help up to follow you in all seasons.

Today we will be talking about chapters 7 & 8. As we have seen until now, Pharaoh has belittled God’s miracles. He has mimicked them with his sorcerers. Does this remind you of the world? Often times the enemy mimics God just enough so that it is believable to the world and you see people follow the lies… We see it in false religions, trends related to sexuality and so much more. Why do you think God took the approach he did with the Egyptians? I believe He wanted the Egyptians to bow down to Him and let the Israelites go worship Him. It also reminds me today how the Lord loves our worship. So often we get busy doing the work, the calling, the ministry, the business, the soccer games, gymnastics, etc etc. We do our quiet time as a checklist. Yet, look at the emphasis put on worship to God. It challenges me to spend more time with Jesus feeling like Mary and less time doing like Martha. I am a doer, so this is often a challenge for me. Sometimes strong, successful, independent people find it more difficult to simply rest at HIS feet and worship. They feel like they need to accomplish the goals He has set in front of them. They get so busy doing, they forget to abide in HIM. Sound familiar? It does to me. I have found myself in that place before and it was an empty place. Lord, let us each be more like Mary and less of a Martha. We need to be diligent and work hard, however, we must keep our priorities straight. God, Family then calling… If we are to change the world, we need healthy, vibrant, and thriving relationships with God and our family. The greatest riches are in these relationships. In 7:14-25, the first was the plague of the Nile. What was the significance? The Egyptians knew they needed the Nile to live. They worshiped the Nile as the mother of Egypt. The Lord showed them that life was His to give or take away. In Chapter 8, we see God again telling Moses and Aaron to go back to Pharaoh. It had been seven days since the Nile. The Egyptians gave special reverence to amphibians because they could live in two worlds. They were quite concerned about survival in the next world. This plague was another way to communicate who God is. His Sovereignty was seen in the plagues. They were aimed at the things that Egyptians held in high regard and worshipped. The Nile- 7:14-25 revered as a god that gave Egypt life and fertility; became a bloody representation of death. Frogs- 8:1-15 The Egyptians revered from (represented by Heqet, frog-headed goddess of fruitfulness) as having the key to life after death. Now there were frogs everywhere and the stench of death was everywhere. Gnats – 8:16-19 the “finger of God” fell on the land and there were biting insects everywhere. The magicians could not duplicate this and had to recognize it as a work of God. The Flies- The Lord made a distinction between Israel and Egypt. Swarms of flies filled the land and tormented the Egyptians including Pharaoh. In 8:12 we see where Pharaoh lies to Moses, offers for the people to go if the frogs go away… So, Moses goes to the Lord, and just as Moses said, the frogs die. The stench must have been unbearable, however, just as the Lord predicted, Pharoah changed his mind and did not release the people. So, he got gnats. Then the flies came. Pharoah offers for the Israelites to worship their God in Egypt. Moses tells him this is not sufficient, so Pharaoh once again says fine. Take your people. Moses warns him again that he better not be lying again. What happened? Moses did as he promised. God got rid of all the flies. How did Pharaoh respond? Once again he did not release the people. In verse 8:32 we see he is still stubborn and refused. I love that God gave him many chances just like he does his children. He is, however, sovereign and powerful. He shows His sovereignty and power and yet the pharaoh still refuses to let the people go. I pray that we as His children will not be like pharaohs. We will obey the first time and glorify Him in all that we do. How many times do we as his children take the difficult road? We make it hard on ourselves. Why? I will leave you with this question: What will it take for us to obey the first time God tells us something? Is it allowing more white space to hear him clearly than you need? Do you need to be reminded of His power and sovereignty? I pray you read these chapters and hear what He is wanting you to see in His word. Lord, let us follow you and obey every detail you show us. Let us follow your word and directions. Let us not be the rebellious people that pharaoh was. We pray for our nation. Let our leaders and people be obedient to your word and will. May we worship you and glorify you in everything we do! Thank you Jesus for your unconditional love and power. Thank you that you are in us and we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us. Thank you Jesus for loving us so much.

I encourage you to read chapter 4 before you start reading or watching. In chapter 4, God gives Moses signs to share. In verse 1 when Moses asks God “What if they do not believe me or listen to me and say, “The Lord did not appear to you?” Can you relate? What has God called you to do that you have been scared to do? What have you not felt equipped to do?
How did God answer Moses’ fears? He gives him 3 miraculous signs he can use to show the people to display God’s miracles.
- He gives Moses the shaft that turns to a snake when Moses threw it on the ground.
- He tells Moses to put his hand inside his cloak. When he pulls it out, it is leprous. He then tells him to put it back again and miraculously, they are clear.
- He tells Moses if they do not believe the first two, he is to draw water from the Nile and pour it on the dry ground. It will become blood.
Can you imagine? The people surely wouldn’t doubt him. This should have given Moses great confidence. Instead, how does Moses reply in verse 10? He tells God he has never been eloquent. He complains that he is slow of speech and tongue. How did God respond? He responded in anger… He wasn’t happy. However, what does he do??? He assures him He will help him. Moses still asks God to send someone else. God could have simply given up on Moses due to his doubts and insecurities. Instead, He offers his brother Aaron to help him. Isn’t this so like our Father’s response to us? When we least deserve it, He never gives upon us. Instead, He gives us everything we need to do what He has called us to do, despite ourselves… Look at the multitude of excuses Moses gave to God.
Moses gave the Lord 5 big excuses:
- Who am I?
- Who are you?
- What if they don’t listen
- I am not a great speaker
- I know you have someone else you could ask.
What excuses are you giving God? I can think of a few. God has really convicted me about my writing of my book… I have used every excuse in the world… yet I know God wants me to get it done. What are you procrastinating on? What excuse are you giving God? Fear of failure? Self-doubt? Insecurity? Fear of what people might think of you? Self-image issues? Like Moses, God will meet you right where you are.
God sent Moses back to Egypt and prepares him for the journey. 4:21 He also warns him in advance Pharaoh will harden his heart… Pharaoh will not listen. Like any great leader, we make our plans, however, we must expect glitches and adjust our plans accordingly.

Cheryl's passion for justice and poverty alleviation has taken her from the top of Mount Kilimanjaro to some of the most desperate and remote places on the planet, and she now speaks nationally and internationally on a variety of topics including empowering women, social justice, sex trafficking, facing fear and finding purpose.
In addition to her role as Host of “100 Huntley Street”, Canada's longest-running daily television show, she also serves on several Boards, including Ratanak International, one of Canada's foremost NGOs helping to restore survivors of human trafficking in Cambodia. Cheryl has also contributed her leadership journey to the award-winning book “Faith, Life, and Leadership”.
Named as one of the top 100 female Christian women in Canada, she is honored to have had her activism recognized with a Woman of Excellence Award for Raising Global Awareness and an International Women Achievers' Media Award.

Welcome back to chapter 3 of Exodus. The bush is burning yet doesn’t catch everything on fire. God speaks to him from that burning bush. It took that miraculous event to get Moses’ attention when he called him.
How many times has it taken the Lord showing up like a fire for you to pay attention I want to pay close attention to what He is saying. I do not want to wait on fire to pay attention to his voice, second by second.
There is great significance in the burning bush. God took something insignificant and turned it into something significant, a miracle of sorts.
Moses wasn’t sure he could do it was he? He asks who am I to tell them? He was insecure. He wasn’t sure why the elders would listen to him. He offers to God that Someone can do it better.
Then God tells him He will be with him. How many times do we fail to move forward because we do not feel significant enough to do something?
Then in 3:13, He says “I don’t know your name”
God spoke to Moses and made it clear who HE was. Exodus 3:5 I am the God of your father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. Moses asks what do I say when they ask who sent me? 3:14 I Am Who I AM.
God is going to deliver the Israelites from the Egyptians and take them to a place of milk and honey, a place of freedom and peace. He is going to use Moses to do it.
When God called me, I thought to myself, “I am way too busy to take this on.” How often do we get busy doing things that do not get us where God is calling us to? That was my excuse among many others. I can so relate to Moses….
The Lord often uses very busy people like us… He used Gideon when he was threshing grain, (Jud 6), Samuel was serving in a tabernacle (1 Sam 3) David was a shepherd, tending sheep (17:20) Mathew was a tax collector. What is taking up your time?
He is going to deliver us. God is promising us HE CAN AND WILL deliver us from any bondage or oppression we may be holding on to.
What HE has called us to, he will provide…
He will equip us….
He will show himself powerful and Almighty….
He will do the miraculous….
We just have to be like Moses and be willing to answer the calling….
Help us to rest in you and listen and trust that you will give us very explicit instructions….
You will provide in the midst…
I love how God shows up, chooses a leader, and then watches what He does…
In the Maxwell Leadership Bible, page 68 we see the 8 things he shows us in Exodus 2:11 – 4:20
When God Chooses a Leader
- God gives the leader an emotional investment in the work.
- Moses ”bought into” the idea of freeing the Hebrews from bondage even before God called him to the task.
- God affirms the leader through others.
- When Moses told Jethro about his encounter at the burning bush, his father-in-law affirmed him.
- God gives the leader mentors.
- Moses asked for4 and received help from Jethro, Aaron, and others.
- God builds on the leader’s strengths, experiences, and background.
- God uses everything Moses” background to help him fulfill his calling: the fine education he received in Egypt; his knowledge of Pharaoh; his understanding of Egypt; and his time in the wilderness.
- God often refines the leader’s character in obscurity.
- Moses received a 40-year “seminary education” in the desert.
- God instills in the leader the value of hard work.
- Moses may. Not have worked much in the Egyptian palace, but he learned its worth in the desert!
- God sustains that leader with a powerful vision.
- Moses caught the vision of the promised land long before the Hebrew slaves did.
- God brings others alongside the leader to compensate for their weaknesses.
- Moses enjoyed the help of Aaron as a spokesman, Joshua as a general, and Hur as a battle supporter.
What has God called you to lead? Are you feeling overwhelmed? Trust HIM even in the desert…. Trust HIM even in the Wilderness! He will provide!
Jesus right now Father God, the I AM, Yahweh I just switch her everything to you! I pray Father God that you help us to see miracles all around us that you are performing! Lord thank you for using us & thank you for calling us! Jesus takes the unbelief away. Show up on my behalf and on the behalf of those who are enslaved and oppressed. We surrender our will.

With a natural ability to envision, communicate and execute creative ideas, Joy Lynskey is a genuine talent in the world of interior design. She is the Founder and Creative Director of Jewel Toned Interiors (JTI), an award-winning interior design studio located in Fort Lauderdale. Her team is dedicated to creating spaces that inspire while giving back to the community. The JTI Team participates and fundraises annually for Habitat for Humanity. Recently they completed their first bedroom makeover for a Make-A-Wish recipient. A Lifework Leadership alum, Joy is a member of the Fort Lauderdale Executive’s Association and the South Florida Chapter of IIDA (the International Interior Design Association.)
She serves as Secretary on the Board of Directors for the Construction Executive’s Association and as Co-Chair of Communications for the Board of Trustees of StrikeForce 421. In 2017, Joy was awarded the Entrepreneur of Excellence award from the Entrepreneur's Organization and in 2019 Joy received the South Florida IIDA Star of the Year Award at their annual BRAGG award’s gala.
This year Joy and JTI were recognized as one of the top women-led businesses in Florida by The Commonwealth Institute. She is was an honoree at Rebuilding Broward’s recent Black Dresses and Blueprints, Celebrating Women in Construction event.
Joy is the sixth child from a blended family as well as a sixth-generation Floridian. Outside of the design studio, she can be found spending time outdoors with her most cherished gifts, the members of her family. Her British ex-pat husband and their four children ranging from age three to twenty-one are her sources of inspiration and motivation.

Hi ladies, today we are in Exodus Chapter 2.
Having the Word of God is one of the important keys in being a Masterpiece Woman. In chapter 2, Moses is born. Born during a time when baby boys are being killed. Can you imagine how Moses’ mother felt having to give up her son? The pain and the anguish she must have felt. Yet, God was there. He rescued him. He provided a home for him with the princess where he would be raised with privilege, training, and opportunities that many would not have.
In 2:7-9, Moses’ mother was paid to nurse her own child. What a gift from God. She was able to see him grow and flourish. As we read chapter 2, we see how God provides for Moses and for his mother. We see how he has all the plans set in motion to prepare Moses to lead the Hebrews. He didn’t prepare him in a day… It was a process and years. Many other leaders in the bible waited years in preparation: Noah 120 years, Abraham 25 years, Joseph 14 years, Job most of his life. Often in our own lives, the greatest lessons are in the waiting.
In verses 2:11 -12, we see where Moses kills a man for abusing a Hebrew. This led him to have to flee for his life. Yet, God still used him. We see later in the chapter that it was then that he met his wife and started a family. There was Grace. God still used him despite his sin. God uses us even with our imperfections. He equips us despite our failures. He works things out for our good.
I remember when I got a divorce I felt like God could not use me. I felt like a total failure… Yet, God used the very divorce to bring me to my knees and I rededicated my life to Christ and surrendered to Him. A few years later I would answer His call into full-time ministry and help thousands of women and children around the world be free of human tracking, oppression, and exploitation. What is God calling you to do? Have you been waiting long? God has a plan and a purpose for your life. Keep the faith. Jeremiah 29:11-13 tells us he has great plans for us and he hears us when we pray and we will find him when we seek HIM.
Prayer for today: Heavenly Father, thank you for loving us so much that you plan every step of our walk. Thank you that even when we fail, you are still with us and deliver us from evil. Thank you that your grace is sufficient. Thank you that your love is unconditional. I am so grateful and I ask that you continue to guide me and direct each step. I trust you with the outcomes. I ask that you help me to see what you are showing me in the time of waiting. Let me not get so focused on the outcomes that I miss what you are doing in the midst of the wait. Lord help me to seek you with my whole heart and trust you with the outcomes.

Hi ladies, I am so excited to share the study of Exodus – The Study of Freedom with you. I believe God is going to do something incredible in this season. He is calling us to new levels in HIM.
God took Moses into the wilderness to prepare and develop him. In Exodus, you will find many lessons on leadership. God mentored Moses into the CEO of Israel. God gives a multitude of signs and wonders to the people. He shows HIS POWER, reminds us that we can trust and follow him.
Real freedom begins with knowing God and enjoying the intimacy He offers. He gives us very clear instructions.
Can you relate to Moses? I can… I can relate to a great deal in this book. When God called me out of being a business leader and into full-time ministry years ago, I felt like Moses when he told God he didn’t have what it took to do what He was calling him to do. I was completely out of my comfort zone. I was feeling inadequate and scared. God gave Moses his brother Aaron. God gave me Cathey Anderson. Together she and I were able to complete the mission he called us to, which was building The Freedom Climb. It is now known as The Freedom Challenge, an initiative of OM, a movement of women climbing mountains to raise funds and awareness for human trafficking projects around the world. It was totally outside of my comfort zone. The theme of Exodus is deliverance and freedom. You can’t have those without a deliverer.
The word Exodus was derived from the Greek word that means “the way out”.
The first 15 chapters of Exodus begin with the Hebrews needing a way out of Egypt, then in the last chapters, you see they needed so much more than rescue from Egypt. They needed rescue from bondage and sin. Exodus helps us to understand who God is. He truly understands us. He reveals himself and his power in Exodus.
In chapter one, we see the need for deliverance was related to the Israelite's condition. You see the Egyptians work the people of Israel without mercy. Why? Because they feared them. I believe it is also related to promises God has made to the patriarchs years earlier when the Lord had promised Abraham that his descendants would be a great nation living in freedom in the land of Canaan. You can see in chapter 1 how Pharaoh wasn't happy with the rapid multiplication of the Jewish people so he took steps to control it.
The first step he took was afflicting the adults.
The second step he took was killing the Jewish boys at birth and that's in exodus 1:15 to 21.
The third step was drowning the male babies which were in exodus 1:22.
The midwives did not obey Pharoah because they feared God and did the right thing. God blessed them for their actions.
How can you obey God when the choice may cost you? In what ways are you not obeying God? What is God asking you to do? Are you obeying Him?
Write down what God is showing you. Share it with your friend and ask her to hold you accountable. Together we are stronger.
Prayer for today:
Lord Jesus, give us the strength and power to make the right decisions. Let everything we do glorify you. Let us draw closer to you each moment of the day so that we may hear you clearly and be obedient. May we be like the midwives in chapter one that despite the risk, we obey you and we do the right thing and follow your calling. Let us be your hands and feet on this planet so that we may glorify you. Lord, I pray for each one of the women who are doing the study with us. May we each have true freedom which only comes from an intimate relationship with you. Lord Jesus, we repent of any disobedience and any sin that we have in our lives. We trust you and we believe that you have great plans for us. Thank you for your grace and your love and your companionship. In Jesus name, we pray, Amen.

Previously, she served for 7+ years as the Vice President of Programs for The Wasie Foundation, a private family foundation.
She is an advocate for many social causes and is committed to philanthropy on a personal level. Her infectious enthusiasm and tireless dedication led her to participate in the “2013 Freedom Climb” for Operation Mobilization, bringing much-needed awareness to Human Trafficking by climbing Mt. Everest in Nepal.

In this podcast, Melinda Lee talks about the 360-concept. So what does 360-degree feedback mean? In a workplace setting, a 360-degree feedback assessment is a method of evaluating an employee’s performance. It’s called 360 because it is coming from every direction around you whether it be friends, peers, subordinates, supervisors, managers, and colleagues. But being a masterpiece woman, a 360 isn’t just hearing feedback and knowing how others feel about you. Melinda shares that a masterpiece woman is a woman who takes personal responsibility for what is happening in her life, whether it’s in her business, her relationships, her family, her children, her husband, or with her employees. It is about owning both the good and the bad and accepting it with an open heart and an open mind. And then you start to look at how you can improve and be the best version of yourself. The 360 degrees concept helps you be aware of how people who surround you perceive you. And you’re going to hear positive feedback and also negative ones.
There will be people who will love everything about you, then there is these group who kind of likes you and what you are saying but then there are these people that no matter what you do and what you say they will always hate you, so who are you going to focus to? Melinda’s advice is to focus your energy on the people who love you and the people who want to give you a chance. Focus on what is working for us and expand it. Sheetal Maharaj, DNP, AGACNP-BC, is the Vice President/Medical Director for Impact Health Sharing, a not-for-profit Health Sharing Organization that shares an alternative to health care insurance. She describes what health care sharing means. She completed both her undergraduate and graduate studies at Barry University, graduating summa cum laude. She started her career as a Registered Nurse.
After graduating with her Doctorate Degree in Nursing and becoming a board-certified Acute Care Nurse Practitioner in 2014, She joined Impact Health Sharing in 2021. Dr.Maharaj, has two wonderful girls, aged 3 and 5, and attributes her happiness to being blessed with the opportunity to be their mother. She enjoys spending time cooking and traveling with her husband and children. She prides herself on the fact that she works for a not-for-profit organization that is helping others with access to affordable healthcare.

Today we are very blessed to have as our guest speaker, Ginger Martin, CEO of American National Bank in Oakland Park, FL. She is a pillar in the community, banking industry and a part of the Masterpiece Women Leadership team. In today's episode, Ginger shares on persistence. She shares about a time specifically where 14 years ago she took over as CEO and implemented new strategies and daily early morning meetings. She describes the difficulty of change, creating a culture and how powerful it is when you see the fruit of your labor when you are persistent.
She emphasizes how important it is to be persistent and create a culture that emulates your vision & mission statements as well as the company's values. She shares a few practical habits she has adopted that help her to stay persistent:

Seek wisdom from God daily - start each day off in prayer and reading the Bible. She believes this is key to wisdom, excellence and persistence. "God gets no glory in mediocrity."

Read daily - read leadership books daily that will keep you focused on growing and learn from other great leaders.

Stay connected to a strong community - She shares how important it is to surround yourself with like-minded leaders that will help you grow, challenge you and encourage you. Overcoming Adversity Michele Nadeem-Baker, a patient influencer, speaker and former communications executive shares how she took the horrible diagnosis of an incurable cancer and turned it into an opportunity to help others.
Today's Podcast and video features former International Corporate Executive Michele Nadeem Baker. In today's podcast you will hear how Michele went from a dream position as an international leader in communications to becoming a voice and an incredible support system to women diagnosed with cancer.
You can imagine the effect a cancer diagnosis had on Michele. Michele found herself deflated,, scared, and overwhelmed. Her identity was caught up in her career. Often, we fall into that trap. Michele shares how she has and is dealing with the greatest adversity of her life. She has turned her diagnosis of cancer into an opportunity to serve other women all over the world that have the diagnosis of cancer.
She shares practical tips to dealing with the questions “Now What?’. When Michele was diagnosed, she had no idea what she would do next. She had to dig deep and seek help. She gives excellent advice to other women struggling with any difficult situation:
First, you must figure out your passion and your purpose. Your purpose helps gives you power. It doesn't happen overnight. It may take longer than you anticipate, however give yourself grace. You may fail the first time, that is ok. You try something else. Her number one recommendation is to listen to God. He will guide you. Her second is to find a community and coaching to help you such as Masterpiece Women. She suggests that you dig deep and ask yourself the right questions. She shares how masterpiece women programs and community were key to her unlocking her purpose and passions. The community and coaching were transformational in her life. The women in the group challenged her to ask herself the tough questions and to give her the support and accountability she needed as she grew and changed her mind set with the content.
You must change your thinking. You must go from victim to victory. Listen as she shares how she was able to overcome fear, get out of her comfort zone and break through the roadblocks.
She shares how she is now using all her gifts and talents to help other women to thrive in the midst of the battle against cancer. She is kicking cancer in heels. Michele Nadeem-Baker has worked nationally as a broadcast journalist and globally as the Global Chief Communications Officer for well-known, publicly traded multi-billion-dollar corporations. Her chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) diagnosis changed her life but did not stop her.
