The Exchange is a coffee podcast where coffee people talk to coffee people about coffee and/or things coffee adjacent. Often hosted by Mike Ferguson, but sometimes not.

Mike invited Mark, Todd, and Rob into the studio without telling them why and we played a game we call Unreal Coffee World Draft. They were asked six questions, some open ended and some closed and with each question our participants were forced to draft an answer and create an unreal coffee world. "All that this report does is tell them, are they long or are they short? If they're long, they are hoping or betting that the prices will go up. And so what we do then is look at these different types of participants in the market and the report tells us if they are long or if they're short. And it tells us if that position has changed from the prior report. Because if a change, a significant change, like either less long or less short or going from net long to net short, it would be an indication of a change in sentiment. So this segment of the market now believes that prices will go up or this segment of the market now believes that prices will go down. Does that mean they will go up or down? No. It does not. But it's important for you to know and helpful for you to know if the people who basically make their living looking at the market and have skin in the game."

Green coffee storage, a few things to keep in mind if you're new to coffee roasting, thinking about coffee roasting, or well on your way and expecting to grow.
I think the biggest reason that Centrals didn’t return to Europe at pre-war volumes is that several years before the war, the coffee industry in San Francisco got fed up with the fact that they couldn’t buy more Central American coffees even though they were interested in quality and willing to pay for it. They understood that the difference between them and the industry in Europe were the relationships, so they started sending delegations to Central America to spend time, not like tourists and not in the big cities where the large roasters like Arbuckle’s had buying hubs, but further down the supply chain.
