Over the years as golf coaches, we started to see patterns develop with what the worst golfers were doing when setting up the golf ball vs what the best golfers were doing. At the end of the day, it comes down to how you are concentrating your pressure against the handle to create the proper functional unit between your hands and arms, the handle, and the club. Then use that functional unit properly to control the lever, lag, and release of the golf club (regardless of whether it's a driver, iron, or putter). This video is a masterclass on how to concentrate your pressure against the handle properly.

In this episode, we talk about how you can train your golf swing from your chair, maintain that same relationship of your arms away from your body, and feel how it will translate to better swings when you begin to address the golf ball. We also talk about how the body is more of a subconscious thought in the golf swing if you have your functional unit and are using it properly in the swing. Finally, we wrap up the episode talking about Kurt Kitayama and Introduce the benefits of the Compact Club in our Test Drive segment. Train your swing anywhere, anytime.

By not focusing on the relationship with your golf club you are causing more problems than you need to be in your swing and with the resulting ball flight. What we mean by that is by concentrating the pressures in your hands against the handle properly PRE-SWING you are able to activate and create the pressures needed IN-SWING to control your club, body, swing, and resulting ball flight, we call this the 4 for 1 special.  So many coaches could make their students' lives easier by fixing the setup instead of worrying about in-swing faults soo much. That's what this episode emphasizes.

Everyone thinks since Colin Morikawa, and John Rahm have a weak grip, they should as well. Unfortunately, this thinking has plagued many average golfers through the years. Don't use these guys as your determining factor on what grip style you chose. They're freak athletes and can time the body dynamics needed to make those grip styles work.  When doing our grip studies we determined that the strong grip was the easiest grip to create speed, and control the club for the average golfer. It's also the easiest way to swing on a sideways angle so you can control impact and into the follow through releasing the club "down the line"

When most people think about the engine of the golf swing they think about the hips and shoulders or some part of your torso. After testing all of these variables along with the hands and arms we came to discover that the true engine of the golf swing was the trail hand (the right hand for most golfers). The reason that the trail hand is so important is the role that it plays in controlling your trail arm, trail shoulder, and trail side of the club and how those variables influence what the body does.
