Creating genuine change for SMEs and scaling up sustainability initiatives and progress for small and medium businesses around the world involves focused, persistent, and systemic efforts, sometimes in close partnership between the private and public sectors.
There are already a slew of initiatives and projects in the works and today Joe is tackling this topic in May of 2022 with Maggie Berry OBE, Director at The Heart of the City, and Mark Jenkinson, Director at Crystal Associates.

ESG Reporting, Environmental, Social and Governance | Advanced-UK Podcast | Episode 01
Two of Our Directors Humperdinck and Joe Discuss the importance of ESG today.
ESG refers to investment techniques that take into account a company's environmental, social, and governance concerns. Following the coronavirus outbreak and racial justice marches, ESG investing is expected to skyrocket. Consumers and Wall Street investors alike are increasingly holding businesses accountable for their environmental, social, and governance (ESG) performance. Here are some ways that ESG investment could change the financial and commercial world.
Companies were being singled out for social responsibility before the police death of George Floyd in Minnesota and before Covid-19 put corporate America on lockdown.
It's a pattern that started well before the present crises and has now become widespread.
"Investors were definitely flocking to ESG strategies," said Valerie Grant, AllianceBernstein's senior portfolio manager of responsible investment. "In ETFs, ESG strategies received $8 billion in inflows. The flows into mainstream funds totaled $12 billion."
While detractors have labelled ESG investing as ambiguous and even fraudulent, analysts anticipate that by 2020, it will have doubled and become integrated into every investor's investment selections.
