We're back from Nationals and one of us is so dang hype to build in this BT15 world!! Quantumon is HERE and you GOTTA hear about it. Please? Everyone keeps abandoning my games. We talk about what we're brewing, the state of deckbuilding, and shooting yourself in the head. Is it clear that that's a reference? Don't shoot yourself in the head.
We're trying out 30 minute episodes on a weekly basis? Like it? Not?
This one's a frankenstein of an episode.
In Act I we see our heroes already at their lowest, scrambling for a lifeboat in the tumultuous sea of competition.
In Act II, those heroes are struck down to clear the way for even greater heroes to appear.

The conclusion of the 2023 competitive season of the Digimon Trading Card Game is in fifteen days. We're both playing yellow probably! We both might be playing Venusmon! I'm so tired. We talk about what we're thinking for Nationals, the unforgivable act of taking every turn, and then new hit PC game Age of Mythology released in 1988.

BT14 is now!! It's here!! There are purple puppies and new security control cards!! DIGIMON IS BACK. Or at least we've been playing it more recently. Lets talk about the newest regionals tops, the hottest secret discord takes, and a deep hatred for every yellow card. And Street Fighter 6. I keep playing Street Fighter 6. Those bongos over at Baggage Claim talk about who did it, reality game shows, and british racism.

We're here this week to tell you that no matter what you do, BWG doesn't care. We go over some regionals, an announcement of announcement, and another in depth review of another random episode of yugioh. Kaiba can't keep getting away with this.

I don't want to talk about it. I don't want to talk about it!! Cards got restricted and I really liked some of them!!! NO ONE HAS A WORSE LIFE THAN ME. We talk about how to deal with anger, greymons, and The Boy Who Lived (tommy himi). After our landing, we get into a different sort of anger, reality tv, and the real true story of how we met (wow).

This time is different. How? Okay, you got me. It's mostly regular.
We do some meditation on tournament play, dream up an alternate digimon format, and take a glimpse at the game's bright future in yellow/green level 6s. But then we talk about Medabots for way longer than anyone should. Finally we premiere our new podcast Baggage Claim and let me tell you- it's not bad.

We recorded in California, where the laws are different. But what we didn't expect is that the Digimon are different too! This episode we recap our runs at a store championship, go over the new ban lists and engage with the discourse surrounding it, and then look at some cards from waaaaay too far ahead for us to reasonably talk about. We're having fun. It's Nolan's birthday.

It's starter deck time! Which means it's time for a new funky way of digivolving your mons. This episode we'll break down how DNA digivolution works, the new cards we get in the Imperialdramon and Mastemon starter decks, then talk some about the dirtiest phrase in TCGs: power creep. This one was hard to name. There's a whole new set out and the Digimon metagame has never been more wide open. We are taking a dive into the new cards and deck archetypes introduced with the EX-01 Classic Collection set and then testing some new deck concepts out in the Pick, Counterpick segment.

EX is delayed, so we had to get rid of the whole other episode we already recorded. Dang! So instead, we're taking an in depth look at two yellow decks that topped the most recent Online Regionals event: Dan Vang's 1st Place Lordknightmon list and Nolan's Yellow Toolbox. We also break our own rules a bit and talk about some EX cards early. Oops!
