Every day may seem like an impossible battle as you fall into acting in the flesh. Ask yourself if you live a lie, willfully walking in unbelief in what God has for your life? When our heart is hurting, it may turn to what you can see to get you through; even though it seems to bring relief at the time, but the cost may last a lifetime. The years go by holding unto an ungodly obsession, as you secretly are hiding from your brothers in sisters in Christ, the same ones that can pray for you and encourage you. Instead, you hold for dear life to your idol as you go to Bible studies and Sunday church. The Lord knows what you hold unto, and His desire for you is to be set free from that idol that has entrapped you. Still, you are missing out on the Spirit of God who brings life into your situation; He will establish you and give you the strength to walk away from the idol. As you go through your day or night routine, rage may have come and attacked your mind as you dwell on something someone had said to you. When this begins, let us go straight to the Lord in prayer, worship, and His word, letting God take your anger, the anger that wants to destroy you. If you try to ignore it or play into what you would say to get back at them, it will bring a disaster for when you see them again. They might do evil again, and then the rage that you thought you could hide comes running out. Reverse it and keep running to the Lord rather than running to how you can get them back, “For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this: “you shall love your neighbor as yourself.” But if you bite and devour one another, beware lest you be consumed by one another!” (Galatians 5:14-15). Cry out to the Lord, “Heal me, O Lord, and I shall be healed; save me, and I shall be saved, for You are my praise” (Jeremiah 17:14). You were made by the Creator that gives you breath to breathe, and what great insight you have to realize that you are loved. Once your heart runs to man, in place of our Savior, it will only get more comfortable to depend on a person or object than the Lord. It may be a pastor, author, co-worker, or a friend that you may run to rather than the One who dwells in you. Although these relationships with godly people are healthy, take what they say and go to God’s word to see if it matches with His counsel. If we are not taking people’s advice to the word of God, then you might be putting your hope in many unseen woes as you have silenced the abundant redemption you have in Jesus. He hears your prayers, “Thus says the LORD: “In an acceptable time I have heard You, and in the day of salvation I have helped You…” (Isaiah 49:8). When we hold onto material objects rather than the Spirit, then you are either grieving the Lord or, maybe, you have never come to the saving knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ. Do not wait another minute, cry out to the One that made you, that gave you life, as His blood was shed for you! Call out to Him and seek Him through His Word by faith, for He will show you Himself. Peter was always willing to follow Jesus, ready to do what needed to be done. Jesus was gentle to Peter as he would make mistakes; Peter even denied the Lord three times before Jesus went on the cross. The Lord was washing the disciple’s feet, and when Jesus went to Peter, Peter said, “Lord, are You washing my feet?” (John 13:6). The Lord Jesus showed His disciples how to love one another, first the need to receive God’s love, and then you can honestly give. “Peter said to Him, “You shall never wash my feet!” Jesus answered him, “If I do not wash you, you have no part with Me” (John 13:8). Peter soon changed his mind and let the Lord wash his feet; Jesus goes onto say, “For I then, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet” (John 13:14).

David stated, and so can we, to praise God for His handiwork in making us. David wrote, “For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother’s womb. I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; marvelous are Your works, and that my soul knows very well” (Psalm 139:13-14). The Lord did not stand-by while you were being made, but He was the One that created you, as for man, they cannot create life apart from the Lord’s hand. For the unexpected mom or dad that does not want to acknowledge a baby in their life, do not forget how this baby is a created being. Remember how precious God’s thoughts are toward you; moreover, to this baby, as this little one has been, “fearfully and wonderfully made” (Psalm 139:14). Do not fall into the lies of our evil flesh who would except the destruction of a beautiful creation, “Behold, children are a heritage from the LORD, the fruit of the womb is a reward” (Psalm 127:3).

In Jesus, you have been redeemed by His blood, rescued from the evil that you use to indulged and paraded yourself so that all could see. In Christ, you have life, freed from the snares of death, for the Giver of life dwells in your earthy body, “who is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory” (Ephesians 1:14). Having this great promise, you get to see the Lord doing the impossible as God Himself is working in you, all the way to your inheritance. Paul writes, “But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us” (2 Corinthians 4:7). The victory you have over evil has been only given to you, “through our Lord Jesus Christ” (1 Corinthians 15:57).

How our life can be faced with regret and worries as we try to live up to a standard that God has not put on us. Bitterness and envy will creep in as you look at other believers and see that they are not following how you walk.
