We've all "been there, done that" with medical professionals who don't seem to truly listen. Of course, many of these people are busy and under a lot of pressure. Many also don't have a deep understanding of chronic conditions and the holistic, root-cause approach to treatment. But that doesn't make it feel any less painful, upsetting or unsettling when you don't get the ears or answers you need. This episode is here to help you get more out of your medical meetings - starting now! It's based on my personal experience of attending WAY more than my fair share of doctor's appointments - good and bad. (Some of those stories included on the pod too!). We cover my top tips PLUS qualities to look for in a medical practitioner. Hope it helps!

Adult acne affects SO MANY OF US, but it never gets talked about because there's so much shame and self-hatred surrounding the topic. Plus, we're all confused because we're not hormonal teenagers anymore - so, what's going on?!

In this eye-opening episode of the podcast, I chat to Mehgan Weatherly - Health Coach, Hypnotherapist and long-term chronic acne sufferer - to get to the root of the issue. We cover:

  • Mehgan's experience with having acne from the age of 12 that lasted for 15 years
  • Being on the birth control pill for 10 years and how it band-aided Mehgan's symptoms as well as causing a flare-up when she came off it
  • Mehgan's experience with anxiety, depression and self-esteem issues
  • The gut-brain-skin connection
  • How Mehgan got into holistic health to support her parents with cancer and why ancient wisdom is important alongside western medicine
  • What Mehgan has done to heal her chronic acne: eating for blood sugar balance, gut healing, digestion, detox organ support, stress management and beyond
  • Changing her intention from focusing on having clear skin to focusing on self-acceptance and compassion
  • Are you in a constant stress response? You might not even realise it
  • Mehgan’s transition from marketing to health coaching and hypnotherapy
  • Learning to listen to her inner knowing and go against the status quo when she hit her rock bottom in and her body literally said "no" (she couldn't move!)
  • Common triggers for adult acne
  • Antibiotics and acne
  • Mehgan’s experiences with spirituality, “high vibe” culture, raw veganism and now finding a more grounded, balanced place
  • The importance of reaching out and getting help on your healing journey
  • Remembering that life is supposed to be fun!

More Mojo's first Christmas episode! And although I'm a total Christmas fairy, the contents of this episode is more about personal growth and reflections for the New Year. It all kinda just came to me and flowed, so I had to share: We're talking about "too muchness", bitchy boundaries, feeling "behind" on life, knowing you're not broken and NO MORE WAITING (featuring some big personal news on the topic of CHANGE... hehe). Merry Christmas honeys. Love, Sarah xox

Anthony has been practicing Vedic meditation for over 50 years and he now teaches it to students across the world. Throughout his life, he has used this powerful practice to overcome obstacles with grace and I'm so excited to share his wisdom with you.

In this enlightening conversation, we chat about:

  • Anthony’s experience with meditating for over 50 years (since being at school during The Beatles’ hay day and spiritual awakening)
  • What it was like meditating without community and before the internet
  • How meditation supported Anthony through his teenage years as well as during challenging times and transitions like divorce and redundancy
  • How meditation helps us discover our true essence and find fulfilment through inner peace (which colours everything you think and do)
  • How meditation helps your thinking become more independent

  • The importance of "the pause"
  • How to make meditation a SUSTAINABLE part of your routine (not just an app on your phone that never gets used!)
  • What Vedic meditation is and what makes it different from Transcendental Meditation

Plus so much more!

Wow, this feels vulnerable but also NEEDED.  I recently realised that since coming back to Instagram after having Jaxon, I've been sucked into sharing more REELS and less REAL stuff. And that's not what I'm about. My community has always been based on sharing the highs and lows because healing (and life!) isn't linear. So, in this episode, I'm deep-diving into 3 big themes that have been weighing on my mind lately and negatively impacting my mental health. I never want to come across as a "sage on the stage" just because I'm a coach. I'm far from perfect, I don't know it all and I want my content to be about authentic connection above all else. I hope this episode helps you feel less alone in whatever you're going through right now during this human experience. Love, Sarah xox

  • Social media pressures, fake-ness and evolving beauty standards
  • Doing social media in an honest, raw and vulnerable way

This podcast episode WILL change your life, period (I feel like an imposter saying "period" like that!). But seriously, give this a listen ASAP because it applies to everyone and the insights are life-changing.

In this powerful episode of the pod, Aimee Rai and I cover:

  • Aimee's dysfunctional childhood (+90% of us didn't receive the love, nurturing and guidance we needed as children)
  • Aimee's struggles with addiction, anxiety, depression and self-harm as a teenager
  • Toxic shame and low self-esteem as an earmark of trauma
  • The importance of "doing the work" as a parent (or before parenthood)
  • Why mindset work is flawed and the need for a trauma-informed, body-based approach to trauma
  • "There's nothing wrong with you, something happened to you."
  • The limitations of 12-step fellowship groups
  • Hypervigilance, sympathetic nervous system dominance and seeing yourself through the lens of your nervous system
  • Why a holistic, multi-faceted process is critical to trauma healing
  • Aimee's issues with body image and working in the cosmetic surgery industry
  • Tips for deepening your intuition and connection with yourself
  • How to relax into healing

"This journey will be the most exciting and inspiring thing that you've ever done in your life. It's the journey of becoming fully human. There's nothing more magnificent. There's nothing more ecstatic. When we open to the pain, we open to all the joys and wonders of life as well, so as brutal as it sounds, there's really nothing to fear here and there's only wonder waiting on the other side."

"If I learn to regulate my nervous system and deal with the emotional impact of that trauma, everything else will resolve itself. What a relief!"

Our first interview episode is LIVE! And who better to kick things off with than my breathwork facilitator buddy, Chelsey, Co-Founder of Rooted Beings Meditation Collective. We’re starting here because Chelsey is an inspiring example of something many of us can relate to having worked in the corporate world and "hustle culture".

Chelsey used her mindfulness practice to pivot from law firm life into a purpose-driven legal career in the non-profit space. In doing so, she consciously created a more mindful and aligned life.

Listen now to find out how she got her mojo back!

I hope you enjoy this conversation as much as I did - and stay tuned for upcoming interviews with experts on trauma, body image, diet/exercise mindset, meditation, hypothyroidism, and more.

Figuring out how to feed your baby can be emotional, complex and exhausting. It isn't linear and you can feel like you're being judged for your choices - much like a healing journey! That's why I wanted to share my story (with all its ups, downs and funny moments!) because what women need is more education, support and empathy as well as the confidence to trust their own intuition... something that can be hard to hear amongst all the noise. However you feed your baby and whatever challenges you have faced, you are a SUPERHERO. All mums are. This is just my personal experience and I hope it helps you feel less alone in your struggles and successes.

My answer to this may not be what you think! I have always had an unhealthy relationship with food and struggled with distorted body image issues. It wasn't until I became ill and got diagnosed with Hashimoto's that things started to change for me, after years of eating extremes, guilt and self-hate. I wanted to share my perspective on the emotional side of eating that often isn't discussed, especially when we talk about healing diets, like the autoimmune protocol... because food isn't just a logical, functional thing for most of us. However, it can be a source of joy and healing if we approach it in the right way, recognise and heal our trauma, and are then able to shift our mindset/approach.

Who doesn't love a birth story?! I think this stuff needs to be talked about more.  Women don't often get to hear about what happens - the highs and the lows. We are left wondering at best and fearful at worst. I loved listening to birth stories when I was pregnant, and it feels good to reflect on such a transformative experience in my life. I hope my positive (positive because I felt informed and in control of my decisions - not because it was perfect or went to plan!) birth story is helpful for you - whatever your reason for listening.
