Welcome to the Happiness Diaries! A audio-diary where I take you along on my journey to find true happiness. This might sound like a self-help book you just picked up at the bookstore but I promise you, it is so much more than that. In the past year I came to the very difficult realization that I lost so much of my happiness. This really scared me and made me feel all kinds of ways so i decided to empower myself to start this series and take you along on a very personal and difficult journey: How I try to slowly regain happiness. If you want to tag along that would mean the world to me but i also understand if you would rather stick to the regular episodes of this podcast (which are still going live, don't worry!). Scrolling on social media, reading a magazine or just watching a movie, they are everywhere: beauty standards. Standards that supposedly define how we are supposed to look like. But often these standards already set us up for failure because lets be honest, barely anybod fits into these "standards" and the only thing they provide is that we feel insecure about ourselves and our bodies. Talking about our mindset around our looks and bodies therefore is so important as they help us in understanding our own believes around self-image and the way we perceive ourselves and the world. So excited for yo to tune into this episode and hope you enjoy!

We do it so often that it seems like a second nature: comparison. Trying to be successful have been a part of my life since forever but until recently I have never thought about critically picking the concept of success apart. Who else is a hopeless romantic and has waited for literally years for their prince or princess coming along and sweep them off your feet? Well, I am an expert about making up romatic scenarous in my head (that never come true) as well as putting way too much of my self-worth on the idea of making somebody fall in love with me. Society has always pushed an idea of love on us, which, if we are being honest, is more damaging than helpful. So in today's episode I am picking apart what love means to me, what the idea of it has done to me and how I am dealing with still being single at 20 years old. Whether you are feeling similar or you just like hearing a girl speak about one of the (appareantly) most beautiful feelings in the world, feel free to tune in <3.

I read 111 Books in 2022 and I am going to talk about all of them in this episode. Reading is a great passion of mine and I am so happy that I managed to read so much this year. I also am obsessed with Jack Edwards and Ruby Granger who do a video like this every year so I needed to do one myself but obviously, in Podcast style:). If you are looking for reading recomendation, this ep is definetly for you!

Hard Times, gonna make you wonder why you even try. Hard Times, gonna take you down and love when you cry! I couldn't say it better than Paramore: Hard Times suck! And still, we all have to face them. And the worst part about it usually is, that we feel so alone most of the time, as if we are the only ones struggling. In this episode I am sharing some of my own hard times and why I think we should be more open about our struggles. If you are also facing a hard time at the moment, this episode might help you to feel a little less alone. I am sending you all a warm hug and hope you enjoy!

Identity crisis in 3, 2, 1... Even though we are told from an early stage in our life that growing up and change is so exciting things might not seen as bright once you arrive in a place in your lfie when you are supposed to have everything figured out. You might even come to realise that things are not always working out like in the hollywood movies. All of a sudden you have no clue what you are doing with your life, things are not adding up and you feel lost. You might even feel like a failure even though this feeling is completly normal and surprise, surprise (!!) We all are going to enter a stage in our life where we have outgrown our old life and sometimes we even notice that we have outgrown ourselves. Even though we will have to face these parts of life who are very obvious not as glamerous they might help us in figuring ourself and our needs out. This is why I am dedicating a whole episode to chatting about my thoughts on growing up, changing and loosing versions of yourself because I am indeed young and very confused. And maybe, you are too.

Tag along to me talking about what it was like to live with funky roommates, making new friends and finding the right thing to study!

Anyway, I am talking about all the things my younger self would propably not even listen to but maybe you are! I hope this advice might help you as well and you enjoy your day with this episode!

Practicing self love does not only mean putting on a facemask and lighting a candle. It is so much more. It has to do with acceptance, getting to really know yourself and fullfilling your needs. In the 10th episode of young, confused and well-read I am talking about my own self-love journey and why I think it is so important to find love for yourself. There will be hard times and struggles but finding peace with yourself might help you to overcome them. Personally, I feel like this is a really wholesome episode and just the right thing I needed to talk and think about. I hope it might help you on your own journey and you have a cozy time listening. :)

All the cool kids peaked in high school, right? So you definetly do not want to be one of them, rather romanticising uni life and thriving for finally leaving your little hometown. But what if I am telling you that you might miss school once you finally move into your student flat? We often take on a set narrative of school being boring, useless and something we just need to get through, so it is obvious that we do not enjoy it. But I for once, found a lot of my school years really nice and value the experiences school offered me. So I am here to change the narrative around, pointing out the positive side effects school can have and just rambling on about how much I love studying (what can I say, I am a uni student). If you find yourself struggling with your relationship with school and academics, this is the perfect episode for you!

Aren't we all amazing in talkning down to ourselves and making ourself believe we are not good enough? In today's episode I am trying to unpack how our thoughts can shape our realtity and how dangerous it can be to us. We are professionals in talking down to us and others which can be dangerous from time to time. So instead of focusing on comparision and proving externals wrong we should actually start focusing on ourselves and our own happiness. I had a lot of thoughts about this topic so buckle up and enjoy this rambly episode of young, confused and well-read!

Often we prioritise something else over our own well-being or happiness. It is hard to find the little moments that bring us joy and to always focus on the positive. I often ask myself: Am I really happy right now? As I was having a not so great week myself I wanted to come ahead and talk about how we can make ourselfs feel better. I know it is hard to find joy while being in a bad mood but it can really make a difference. In this a little bit more personal episode I am also touching on my own issues and how I try to overcome them. So lets bundle up and get ready for young, confused and well-read!

If I told my 11 year old self that we are actually studying abroad she would just say: Yes, of course, what were you thinking? But what she doesn't know is all the things I had to go through to actually end up studying in Scotland. In this episode of young, confused and well-read I am talking about why I always wanted to study abroad and how I managed to make this dream become reality. I hope this little chat is inspiring you to chase your own dreams or is just providing you a little bit more information on how you can actually study in another country. So put your headphones on and enjoy!

Self-help-books love talking about it: How can you always improve yourself? 10 ways to become a better version of yourself. This is what you need to do in order to live a full life. But self-improvement is not always easy and it is also not always healthy. In today's episode I talk about why we are always growing without even trying (or why we don't need to follow a millionares morning routine to live a happy life) and why I believe we should always try to view the future positivly. Today's ramble is critically looking at self-improvement and circumstances around it. Please keep in mind that I am speaking from a very priveledge point of view and everything being said is my opinion:). That being said, I hope you can still enjoy this episode and have a great time listening!
