Who remembers the BJ and Bill Show all those years on WOLZ. The boys had so much success on FM radio for so long and everyone has a Podcast, why not them too. Many have told them how much they miss the show. We’ll now they are back. Only this time it’s BJ and Bill The Podcast. This is the podcast about nothing. Just two guys talking about the good ol’ days, life and what’s it’s like getting older.
If you're a fan of just about any football team from the great state of Florida, you had a bad weekend this past week... and BJ and Bill spend some time comiserating on that topic on this weeks' show. Florida State, University of Florida, University of Miami... all lost. Tampa Bay Bucs, Jacksonville Jags, both lost (Miami Dolphins on Monday Night Football).
Other stuff this week... suggestions for Bill on ways he can feed his "wanderlust." BJ thinking about testing the waters of products like THC-laced "gummies." Yes, he checked with his medical team, and they've given him the go-ahead. Can't wait to hear how that works out!

Football, NASCAR and time travel... all in a week's work for the BJ and Bill podcast.
Yes, there's the usual talk of football and other sports, but - and here's where the time-travel comes in - the boys are recording this podcast before an important Monday Night Football game featuring their Tampa Bay Buccaneers, so by the time you hear this podcast, the game will be long over.
More importantly, for some, is another bit of time travel. Election Day in the United States happens in that slice of time between when the show is recorded, and when it's released. So we hope your person (and your important issues) were all winners!

Oooh... Spooky coincidence! This week's show - which comes out the week of Halloween - is number one hundred THIRTEEN. OK, maybe not so spooky, but fun. This week:
Speaking of scary, BJ goes into great detail about one of his medical proceedures. Where needles go, drugs and drug testing, all that. Fun? Maybe not. Scary? A little.
This week's show also comes close to Election Day in the US. In Florida, where the boys both live, there's an interesting ballot issue up for a vote on the legal ways marijuana can be grown, processed and sold to the public. Not surprisingly, that leads to quite the "weedy" discussion.

Wow... After more than one hundred episodes, there's some new information on "The History of BJ" on this show! We thought we'd covered everything, but no! So, be sure to listen all the way to the end of the episode for some eye-opening (and eye-wateringly funny) bits of history and how BJ got to be the media superstar that he is!
Other topics covered this week: BJ is on the road, visiting the headquarters of The Podcast Playground, our parent company. There's some juicy inside tidbit on that, as well as the Big Boss, and his experience with renting an electric car and using it for a road trip.

Between storms, sports and more, it's been a busy past week for the boys, and this episode of the podcast speeds right thru with lots to talk aboiut and comment on.
First football: BJ says he's keeping his promise, and buying the expensive but oh-so-cool Baker Mayfield / Tampa Bay Bucaneers jersey. We're waiting photographic evidence to make sure he's telling the truth. Stay tuned for that.
Of course there's more to talk about when it comes to hurricanes and storms. The good news is that BJ says he discovered his local hospital ER is a good one, and he's not worried about having to travel to Tampa General every time there's a little health concern that needs professional attention.
Other items up for discussion: Taylor Swift and her NFL connection, as well as BJ's years-old personal Taylor story. And - just in time for Halloween - national ratings for candy! How does your fav rank? Check out the show for more details.

As yet another hurricane approaches Florida (the second one is an many weeks!), BJ and Bill talk about storm prep and lots more. Both BJ and Bill still have plenty of friends and family in the areas that have been hard-hit by this year's crazy weather... All up and down the Southwest Florida coast. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all in need.
Also this week, the latest chapter in BJ's medical dramas, and the latest chapter in Bill's love life (or lack thereof). BJ is up for a proceedure that has him drinking large quantities of white chalky liquid - you probably know what we're talking about. Not fun.
As for Bill, BJ had put out an idea for a "Hallmark Movie" kind of scene when Bill visited a former lady-friend...and what might happen during the reunion. Bill is happy to report that nothing happened... Just like he planned.

This week, it's all about "story." Seems that with everything the boys talk about this week, there's a big or funny, or both, story behind it. Starts out with talk of a high school janitor-turned-singer on one of those reality TV shows...
But story goes all through the show, with stories from people BJ has connected with along his heart-transplant journey, to Bill's story on joining and then getting off of dating and relationship websites.
Also, BJ asks Bill for help in trying to stop using the dreaded "you know" in everyday conversation and on the podcast. How's that going? You'll have to tune in to find out.

Bad week for fans of the Tampa Bay Bucs...and the boys are feelin' it on the show this week. BJ's little self-wager to buy a new Bucs jersey is out the window, and Bill is not too happy about the Cleveland Browns showing, either. Ah well, another week in sports.
Also this week, BJ asks Bill a "techie" question about website and app passwords. Quite the discussion over how to create and (most importantly) remember passwords! Not the easiest thing for a couple of old guys with less-than-perfect memories.
One more quick question: Did you know there's a real, "official" name for that little "hashtag" symbol? Great Jeapordy (or bar bet) question. Check it out...
All that and more, as they say in show biz.

The NFL season is off and running (college football, too), so the boys spend a bit of time talking football, and their favorite teams. Of course BJ has to put in a good word for NASCAR Racing, even though he's not a fan of their "playoff" system. How does that even work with racing, anyway?
There's some talk of the "portal" system, where players in college football can move around to different teams, just like being traded in the NFL, except this is up to the player, and not the team. Makes BJ and Bill wish for a their own personal "portals" to move around the world... Star Trek "transporter," anyone?
All that and more, as they say in show biz.

The new NFL season is off and running (and kicking, and passing) and the boys have plenty to talk about. Podcat fav team the Tampa Bay Buccaneers started with a good win, and that's got BJ making a little wager with himself. If the Bucs - with quarterback Baker Mayfield at the helm - can win two more in a row, he'll buy himself an expense, official NFL jerseys, with Mayfield's name on the back. Will it happen? Stay tuned, to both the show and the NFL.
Other fun stuff this week. Checking in on BJ's new electric car, and the fact that it takes real computer button-pushing skills to make it all work. Not a great thing for tech-challenged BJ.. but at least he has his wife as co-pilot for all the technical details.
All that and more, as they say in show biz.

This week - lots of sports talk from The Boys. With the Labor Day holiday, college football season kicks off, the WNBA season is winding down, and - of course - the NFL is getting ready for it's big kickoff.
Along with that, a lot of talk of long-past radio days in Southwest Florida. Recently, some old friends and rivals of the classic BJ and Bill Show announced thier retirement, which led to a lot (a LOT) of talk about. All good stuff... even for other radio stations that had been "sworn enemies" of the show.

This week - Why Sports is Better Than Real Life. OK, maybe not, but the boys have quite the discussion of a few big sporting events from the past week. Yes, there's NASCAR for BJ, but also the riveting final games of the Little League World Series. Who'd a thunk it? But yes, for Bill especially, it was all a good example of playing by the rules, determining a true winner, and why Sports is Better The Real Life. Let the discussion begin...
In addition, there's an update on BJ's new electric car, and how it pretty much drives itself. And speaking of gadgets that are smarter than us humans, there's a larger discussion on how AI is - still - getting ready to take over the world. Maybe not like The Terminator, but in other more subtle ways.

What a show! Yes, we always say that, but this episode really does have something important, funny, and powerful to say... but you'll have to wait for the second half of the program for it! (And that, folks, is what they call a "tease" in show business...)
First half: Two old men complaining about the weather. Yes, it sounds like a TV commercial (people turning into their parents). There's a lot of that talk, for sure. Weather, high-tech cars, traffic, going to the beach, all of it.
Second half: BJ talks about his philosophy of life, and it's both funny as helll and powerful as Sunday sermon (delivered by your favorite pastor, of course). BJ has faced a few health "challneges" in life, and today, he and Bill talk about how to (as the cliche says) "When life gives you lemons, make lemonade." It's a great stuff, and we're not just saying that because we're the guys on the show.

Lots going on this week! The Olympics ended, the NFL football season began! As for the Olympics, did you watch very much? The boys talk aboiut the impressive wins for the USA Men's and Woman's basketball teams.
As for the NFL, yes, we know it's just "preseason" ... but c'mon, it's still football and that's a very big deal, indeed. Looking forward to the upcoming season, as always.
But the really, REALLY big news of the day is BJ's announcement that's taken the plunge and bought himself a new car... a new ELECTRIC car. You'll have to tune in for all the details. And believe us, there are a lot of details and fun stories to be talked about.

Lots of weather-related talk on the show this week. As this show was being recorded, a hurricane was blowing along the northwest Florida coast, near the area called the Big Bend. That made for stormy conditions for both the boys - but especially for Bill, in Gainesville, closer to the stormy action.
Of course there's always - hopefully - a story of interest and / or fun in everything, and this experience is not exception. Tune in to hear the boys "horror stories" of the "Attack of the Tree Frogs" during the stormy night. Don't know what that means? Like we said, better tune in and find out.
Other fun (and high-tech) stuff: More of BJ's on-again, off-again budding love affair with an electric car, and how AI (artificial intelligence) is just now starting to take over the world.

Can you believe it!?! One HUNDRED shows for the BJ and Bill Podcast. Huge thanks to all those who have listened to the boys across the years, and have stayed in touch through this podcast. Couldn't have done it without you...
On the show this week, lots of "car talk." Yes, that's an old NPR program from years gone by, but it totally fits for this show. BJ had the experience of test-driving his first fully electric car, and it was quite an exciting and eye-opening day.
Now of course he's hooked on this new car, even though it's a bit - shall we say - over-budget. And to make things even more interesting...there's a full-on Disney "Platinum" Edition of this car, so you know it's going to cost some big money. Will he get it? Stay tuned.

This week might actually qualify as a "not safe for work" episode! They boys have quite the disucssion about getting old (so what else is new?) but this time, there's some - shall we say - interesting stories and jokes about all the different bodily parts and functions that get probed and prodded for all kinds of different medical exams. All in the name of science, of course!
It's been a crazy week in the "real world" out there. That makes for a little bit of conversation on the topics of current events and politics. Yes, a rare thing for this podcast, but the boys felt it was something that needed mentioning, especially if there's a few good jokes to be had.

This week, it sounds like the boys have hit new levels of "old man" complaining, as we listen to BJ talk about how he doesn't like "freezing" in the winter in Central Florida! Really, that much colder than his old days in Fort Myers? We think not...
As often happens, the subject of our favorite travel stop - Buc-ee's - comes up. There's quite the spirited discussion on the merits of the pulled pork vs. brisket sandwiches. Have you got a favorite? Let us know..

On this week's shows... BJ's travels for a mini-vacation for his anniversary. Congrats! Of course if there's a road trip involved, that means a stop at Buc-ee's. It's now official: the boys are looking to reach out to their favorite highway travel stop to look into sponsorship possibilities. What took so long... right??
Also this week, BJ recently discovered a new radio station that actually uses podcasts as its broadcast "format." Crazy? Interesting? Who knows. The media world is undergoing a lot of change these days, and this is just the latest idea to create new radio listeners.

This week - a little catching up on sports, including big congrats to the Florida Panthers for pulling off an exciting Game 7 win in the Stanley Cup Finals. Also, big smiles all around for the Florida Everblades pulling off back-to-back-to-back Championship wins in their Kelly Cup Finals. Nice!
BJ is thinking - nothing serious at this point - about plugging in to the electric vehicle (EV) trend. That leads to quite the discussion on having an electric car as a family's "everyday driver." Would you want an electric car? Do you already own one? How's that going for you? For Bill, who just got back from a week in the mountains of northern Georgia, it's not really an option. But (as they say) different strokes for different folks.
There's also a nice rememberance of Jimmy Nelson, a comedian, ventriloquist and 1960's TV star who was a big friend to the old BJ and Bill radio show. Nice memories of a great man, his equally wonderful wife of many years, and their impact on SW Florida.

This week, Bill is "on location" at a secret mountain hideaway (sounds like a song!) in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Georgia. Not so secret, now that we've told you, right?
Anyway, to get there, Bill had to drive up I-75 through Georgia, which meant a stop at the Buc-ee's in Warner Robbins (of course!). There are pictures to prove it this time, and Bill tells the story of a brisket sandwich for lunch and a bag of "Beaver Nuggets" for snacks. To say yummy! to both is an understatement. You'll have to listen for all the tasty details.
Speaking of food (which the boys do a lot, don't they?) BJ talks about plans to visit SW Florida this week. Specifically, his son and grandkids. BJ was hoping to visit an iconic restaurant, located on Sanibel Island, but it seems that particular business has not yet re-opened after Hurricane Ian badly tore up the place.
As always, there's a little talk about sports, a little talk about music, etc. All the regular features of the show.

This week - the boys talk about visits to offbeat and lesser-known Florida tourist spots. BJ had a good weekend visiting one of them in the Orlando area. What Florida OG spots have you visited? Bill is a big Weeki Watchee fan...
Also (and after a long time away from being mentioned on the show) there's some new Buc-Ee's talk! Seems the boys' favorite travel stop has opened the newest - and biggest to date - store in Texas. (Where everything is bigger, right?) Both BJ and Bill will be traveling in the next couple of weeks, so both will be planning their trips with Buc-ee's stops in mind.

Yet another great place to subscribe to - and listen to - BJ and Bill - the Podcast. The show is now available on YouTube Music! (Heck, it may have been there for a while, but Bill just subscribed to YT Music, and found it there...so that's a win.)
This week, some memories fror OG Fort Myers... Back when a certain beachfront resort was the "in" place to go for weekend getaways and parties. How it survived the big hurricane last year (it did!) and how it's been rebuilt, restored and re-opened for business.
That led BJ on a rabbit-hole run through some of his favorite stories of being on the road, back when he was doing standup comedy. Some of the nice - and not-so-nice hotels and motels he stayed in while on the road. Including one really scary story!
Other quick bites: Congrats to the Florida Everblades hockey team (East Coast League) for their amazing three-peat of winning their ECL Championship! And a tip 'o the hat to Dick Van Dyke for winning a Daytime Emmy award at the young age of 98! Amazing!

Yes or no?? On this show, BJ and Bill dissucc the idea of "going live" with the show. OK, maybe not live and in-person (like back in radio days), but doing the show "live" as a video stream on platforms like YouTube and others. Would you watch? Gotta admit, sounds pretty scary... just a couple of old guys ranting about life. Anyway, stay tuned for details.
Other show stuff: the boys talk about legendary actors and comedians from years gone by, after BJ watched a show featuring one of the all-time greats of early TV sitcoms, Dick van Dyke. That leads to talk of other OG's and some great favorite memories.

Have a great week!
This week - an unexpected and fun phone call visit from "The Boss." For those that don't know, that's BJ's son Gentry, who runs the podcast network that this - and many other - fine podcasts appear on the interwebs. A few good father and son stories, and some other catching up in the podcast world.
Also, the very important discussion of exactly how to best time our visit to your local Wal-Mart. Yes, it's important! For BJ, it's all about avoiding the tourist traffic with a store that's very close to Disney World. For Bill, it's all about avoiding the college-student traffic, with his store very near the University of Florida campus.
As always, the boys catch up on sports, and some interesting stories that "almost" happened in auto racing (one of BJ's favorites). That, plus the usual fun and games of the show.
Thanks again for tuning in. As always, the boys appreciate your top-rated review of the podcast on whatever platform you do your listening. Thanks in advance!
Another podcating milestone for the boys... Episode 90! Thanks for all your support. We're looking forward to some kind of party for the Big #100.
Speaking of milestones, BJ had a birthday in the past week. On the show, he talks about some life (and living) goals. Now he's aiming to live to be 75...but we know he's gonna be around for a lot longer than that! So of course the talk of living to "advanced" age led to more conversation about getting old, doctor visits, and upchucking in the car. Trust us, you've got to listen to find out the details for this one...
BJ stuns Bill with some football news: The Jacksonville Jaguars moving to Orlando? Well, turns out, no. But if the Jags do some major renovations (as planned) on the stadium in Jax, they're gonna need somewhere else to play during contruction. Turns out they're considering Camping World Stadium in Orlando... OR... the Florida Gators Ben Hill Griffin Stadium in Gainvesville. NOW Bill was excited!
Thanks again for tuning in. As always, the boys appreciate your top-rated review of the podcast on whatever platform you do your listening. Thanks in advance!
This week, the boys talk about BJ's latest doc appointment - so what else is new, right? But it does lead to a good discussion of how we either support ourselves - or hurt our health - with the food we eat (or dont' eat, of course).
BJ continues to work on keeping his health in good condition, and Bill continues to work on losing a few pounds (OK, more than a few!), and there are good stories all around.
The other big question of the week: How far would you go to see Taylor Swift in concert? Shes currently playing in Paris (as of this podcast date), and news is that lots of Americans are flying to France to see the show there. Seems it's actually cheaper to get tickets in Europe! Swifties, get your passports ready.
A little bit more on sports, and some interesting ideas on doing the podcast "live and on location," just like a live radio show back in the day.
Also, keep an ear out for a new podcast called "Gut Punched," It's not about fighting at all. It's about how friends and family members deal with the newfound knowledge of a loved one being diagnosed with dementia and / or Alzhiemers'. A friend of BJ's is starting a new podcast on that topic, and BJ was a guest on one of the first episodes. The show "Gut Punched" is also a part of The Podcast Playground network.
As always, the boys appreciate your top-rated review of the podcast on whatever platform you do your listening. Thanks in advance!
What a fun show! Yes, we say that a lot, but this one turned into something special. We hope and trust you'll agree.
A bit of sports catch-up first, as always. BJ's Warriors have been out of the NBA Playoffs for some time (he's bummed), and Bill's Cavaliers beat the Orlando Magic in seven exciting first-round games (he's thrilled). Some NBA, some Kentucky Derby as well...
Which led to a lot of BJ and Bill history (separately, in their very early radio-career days). Talking about back-woods and small-town KY radio for both of them.
Then, the sad news: BJ was unable to get to talk to Peter Noone when the former Herman's Hermits star appeared live at Epcot Center / Disney World last week. As you know, the boys have been pretty much stalking Noone (not, we hope, in a creepy way) to try to get him on the podcast. Still, no luck. But, it's some funny stuff from BJ's afternoon at the show.

BJ in the Radio Hall of Fame? Well, honestly, no... but the boys spend some time this week talking about the "what might have beens" in their careers, so that makes for some jokes. Other funnyy stuff... how a dad (BJ) gets a little fatherly revenge on his kids with the stories of their names. For BJ, it's one musical instrument, one car. Don't know what that means? Better tune in to find out.
Also, BJ's ongoing quest to "try" to talk to music star Peter Noone. If you've been following the show (of course you have, right?!), you know Noone was a guest on the BJ and Bill Show many, many years ago. The boys have tried to contact him a few times to (hopefully) have him on the podcast, but they've been running into brick walls... Noone's agent, etc. Now BJ is seeing Noone perform live at Epcot Center / Disney World. What's going to happen? Stay tuned.
Lots more fun stuff on the very early days of both guys' careers in radio. From BJ doing some storm-chasing in Indiana, to Bill doing street reporting in Phoenix. Definitely setting the WayBack Machine for this stuff...

On the show this week. Ever think about getting a "side hustle"... a little part-time gig to make a few extra dollars? BJ and Bill have a talk about Bill's latest gig, delivering food for DoorDash. For Bill, it's a little bit of fun, a little bit of money, and little bit of getting out of the house, where he's normally stuck at his computer desk all day long...
Also this week, BJ talks about the latest "Reality TV" show that's grabbed his attention... It's all about a legal cannabis store in Los Angeles, and the crazy shoppers and employees. Definitely high times!

Remember back in the day… That TV commercial for a brand of cassette tape (remember those!?)… “Is it live or is it Memorex?” (Pretty sure that was the brand.) This week, BJ has a brand-new voice recording, high-tech toy in his home studio, and we get to play the “Is it live?” game all over again. Sounds weird, but you’ll just have to tune in to find out more.
Also this week, the boys wonder out loud if they’ll ever hear from their all-time favorite in-studio radio guest, Peter Noone. On past shows they’ve talked about reaching out to the former front man of the band Herman’s Hermits.. But there’s been no luck in contacting him.
Well, turns out Noone is going to be performing at Disney World (Epcot Center) in Orlando soon, and BJ is thinking hard about crashing the party, to see if he can get some face time with Noone. Hopefully, our boy doesn’t get himself thrown out of the park, scooter and all. Stay tuned!

So... would you enjoy a hearing a grown man cry? Well, tune in to this weeks' show as BJ sobs (just a bit) over the loss suffered by the Purdue Boilermakers in the Champtionship game of the men's Final Four NCAA tournament. Not a basketball fan? there's still lots of other fun stuff, too.
Still, for those that follow BJ's sports-betting "picks," you'd do well - very well - to bet against whatever he picks. Football, basketball, doesn't matter. He's pretty much a self-admitted curse when it comes to picking sports winners and losers.
Other show notes: a quick catchup on BJ's health. Been some new visits to his favorite resort, Tampa General Hospital, and some new reviews of the hospitality. Funny stuff, and worth the listen.

This week - the wonders of travel to and from SW Florida... back in the early days. Driving down I-75 ... till it ended! Flying into the ancient Paige Field in Fort Myers... the wonders of discovering the winter life so far down south. All great memories for the boys.
Also, a dash of sports talk, as usual. Men's and women's NCAA basketball tournaments, and also BJ's night out with his son (and friends) to a real live NBA game in Orlando.
Also, both BJ and Bill are thnking about - and talking about - starting new, different podcasts. Don't worry! BJ and Bill - the Podcast isn't going anywhere. It's just that the boys have some fun and interesting ideas for other podcasts, and they're putting all that into motion.

This week - lots of sports talk. Not just about teams and standings, but why we like sports and how (and who) we cheer for. Not just for BJ and Bill, but pretty much everyone, in all the different sports and leagues out there. About the only thing we missed was baseball, and that starts up with the MLB season in just a couple weeks.
BJ finds a story about how "old age" starts at the ripe old age of 27! Yikes! How old does that make the boys...? And - as they discuss - how that seems to correlate with old, creaky bodies (and minds).

The St. Patrick's Day holiday has come and gone... did you get your share of corned beef and cabbage? More importantly, your share of green beer? The boys have some good memories of big radio parties of years gone by in this episode, with plenty of green to go all around.
For those living in neighborhoods with the ever-popular HOA's, BJ has plenty to say about some new proposals for his community. Some good, some not so much. How about you? Any HOA horror stories?

This week, a quick check-in with BJ and our friend Vicki Wagoner, who've both gone through some pretty big medical proceedures this past week. Yet more evidence of how getting old sucks... but here we are.
For the fun stuff, there's plenty. BJ is heading off to the Mouse House to see the legendary (is that the right word?) Rick Springfield. That leads to a discussion on some of our favorite musicians, and - once again - how we're all getting older. Yikes, there's a pattern here!
Yes, there was supposed to be a discussion on the popular online game "Worlde." What happened with that? Guess you'll just have to listen to find out...

This week, plenty of the usual strangeness. A bit of a medical update from BJ, including the latest on his heart (of course). Seems that when BJ is making one of his regular visits to Tampa General, the nursing staff fights over who gets to take care of him. His words, folks, his words. Guess he's just such a pleasure to be around!
Lots more health-talk, including all the popular tests that BJ gets, and Bill does not.
Finally, have you ever played "Worlde?" Apparently it's a thing, even though the boys know nothing about it.
Don't forget... BJ and Bill would definitely love to have you (and all your friends!) leave a nice, juicy 5-star review of the show at your favorite podcast outlet. This weeks' show features a very special guest. It's Marc Price, who starred (as a very young man) as "Skippy" on the sitcom "Family Ties." These days, he's still doing acting, but even more standup comedy. He and BJ have been friends for years.
So on the show this week, tune in to hear about the business of standup comedy in these crazy times, as well as memories of sitcom TV from "back in the day." It's a lot of fun, lots of great memories and more.
Speaking of fun, BJ and Bill would definitely find it fun if you would do them the favor of leaving a positive, 5-star review of the show at your favorite podcast outlet. This week - a very special guest joins BJ and Bill - The Podcast. One of our favorite guests from back in radio days joins the program! Tune in for a chat with Vicki Wagoner - the Practical Intuitive. Vicki was the person that introduced both BJ and Bill to all sorts of interesting personal development and spiritual topic and practises.
On this episode, the boys talk to Vicki about what she's been up to over the years and lots more. Vicki is a big believer in the idea that everything in life is a gift and a lesson for us to learn from and appreciate. She uses her various coaching and intuitive gifts with clients all around the world, helping them to see "the gift in everything," and to create a new perspective on the way we view life and the way we live it. The world is a very challenging place these days, but there are still ways to live it well, and enjoy the ride.
Speaking of enjoying, BJ and Bill would definitely enjoy (and be grateful for) your positive, 5-star review of the show at your favorite podcast outlet. Also, this reminder: The name of the show's Facebook page has been updated. Search for "BJandBillTHEPodcast" now. (Capital letters not needed.)

See you next week!
No surprise here... a lot of football Big Game talk, analysis and more this week! And yes, there's plenty of time left to get in both BJ and Bill's opinions about the "Swiftie" thing. Is that a thing? How much do sports broadcasts "check in" on girlfriends, wives, and other significant others? Is it important? The boys have differing opinions, and aren't afraid to share them.
Second (non-football) half of the show: Thoughts about the comedy business. BJ used to be a standup comic (among other things), and he's had thoughts about getting back up on stage. With that in mind, the boys talk about an upcoming guest for the show, a former standup (and actor) himself. Who is it? Check out the show to find out. More guest appearances are coming!
After losing a Super Bowl bet, it's now on Bill to buy lunch, and there's talk of how and where that will happen. BJ tries to convince Bill on the goodness of cauliflower "chicken" wings. Have you tried them? Yay or nay? Seems Bill will be finding out...
Plant-based or not, BJ and Bill would definitely appreciate you whipping up a recipe of a good review of the show at your favorite podcast outlet. Also, the name of the show's Facebook page has been updated. Search for "BJandBillTHEPodcast" now. (Capital letters not needed.)
See you next week!
It's the "Diamond Anniversary" episode of BJ and Bill - the Podcast! Seventy-five shows, all gems...hahaha.
On this week's show, a Big Game preview, of couse. The Taylor Swift vs. non-Swiftie battle bubbles over into a small wager between the boys. It's gonna be interesting, one way or another.
Would you like to go to the big game, if you could? We mean live and in person? Seems TV coverage of the biggest events - sports and others - has gotten so good in recent years, there's a good discussion to be had: Go live, or watch from the comfort of home, on the big screen? What's your choice?
No matter where you spend the weekend, watching on TV or doing something out there in the "real world," BJ and Bill remind you that we'd really appreciate it if you would contribute your review of the show at your favorite podcast outlet. No big game ticket needed. Also, get in touch anytime: Email the show at: BJandBillPodcast@gmail.com, or simply search for "BJandBillPodcast" on Facebook.
See you next week, Swifties (and everyone else)...
So... did your favorite teams win? Are they headed to the Big Game? This week, BJ and Bill talk a little football, a little about famous girlfriends and a little wagering.. all about the games just past, and the final "Big" game coming up. Got a favorite? Let us know...
Also, there's talk about "cord cutting." For those that don't know, that's all about saving money by getting rid of cable TV, and sticking with just the streaming services you and yoru family actually watch. Maybe you've already cut the cord (cable). Maybe it's time to think about if you really need all those streaming services?!
BJ and Bill also discuss the "modern" radio and TV business model. A lot has changed since the boys were on the radio "back in the day." The question these days seems to be: How long before AI (artificial intelligence) takes over the entire business? Or for that matter, how long before AI takes over the world. The boys think a good place for that takeover to start might be with politics.
While us humans still matter, these two humans would very much appreciate it if you would contribute a human review of the show at your favorite podcast outlet. Do it now, before the robots take over! Also, get in touch anytime! Email the show at: BJandBillPodcast@gmail.com, or simply search for "BJandBillPodcast" on Facebook.
See you next week!
This week, it's Bill's turn to be a bit "under the weather." (What does that mean, exactly, anyway? Aren't we always under the sky and the weather? Weird...) Anyway, Bill talks recovery after some little bug found him, and BJ talks about his wife returning from a girl's trip to New Orleans...and he wonders what she'll bring home with her.
Also on the show: Dating in one's "senior" years. BJ talks about catching up with an old friend, and talking divorce, dating and that whole "new chapter of life" thing.
Speaking of our senior years, there's also talk of a new "best of" list BJ has found for places to retire. Of course both the boys are living in a big retirement zone - the entire state of Florida - but neither BJ or Bill was prepared to hear what the number one in-the-nation place is for retirment... at least according to this list. See if you agree. The boys definitely did not.
Don't forget - we'd really appreciate it if you could leave a good review of the show at your favorite podcast outlet. We very much appreciate it! Also, get in touch anytime! Email the show at: BJandBillPodcast@gmail.com, or simply search for "BJandBillPodcast" on Facebook.
See you next week!
For some, it's a short(er) work week. Some have a day off for the MLK Holiday... and if that's you, we hope you had some extra fun, and a bit of time for reflection. It's still a crazy world out there, and Dr. King's message is just as powerful today as when he spoke ot it.
For the show... BJ reports on how his wife is going on a ladies-only mini-vaca to New Orleans. We know she can be trusted, but how about BJ? Not so sure... Turns out he was actually invited to join the ladies on their getaway, but the boys discuss if that was a real, honest invitation, or if she was just "being nice." You decide (we already have... hahahaha).
Also, there's talk of high-tech gadgets and gizmos as the annual Consumer Electronics Show is underway in Las Vegas. That leads to some Vegas memories for Bill, and the surprising factoid that BJ has never been there!
Lots more about travel, small towns, and getting older. So what else is new? If you have a short week with the MLK holiday, enjoy it. No matter how long your week is, we'd suggest you enjoy it was well! When you have a spare moment (that's all it takes!) please remember to leave a good review of the show at your favorite podcast outlet. We very much appreciate it! Also, get in touch anytime! Email the show at: BJandBillPodcast@gmail.com, or simply search for "BJandBillPodcast" on Facebook.
Thanks! See you next week...
Pretty sure there are no "spoiler alerts" in this episode... as BJ dives deep into the smash movie "Barbie." Yes, he went to see it...and kept his man-card. Along with that cinema classic, there's talk of other movies seen and not seen in the past few months. It's all part of a bigger disucssion from the recent Golden Globes awards, so check in for that.
In addition, there's talk of taking good care of your health in the new year. Seems like just about everyone we know is sick these days, so be careful out there! BJ talks about his heart transplant a bit, and the support group that grows up around people who have had various body parts replaced. Interesting stuff.
But, when it comes to actually important, hard-hitting reporting, be sure to listen in as the boys discuss the various fun and fast foods that have been replaced by "healthy" alternatives. Does making chicken wings out of cauliflower made them a health food? Hmmm...
The new year is off and running... As we get back to the regular grind (whatever that means for you), please remember to start off the new year with the gift of a good review of the show at your favorite podcast outlet. We very much appreciate it! Also, get in touch anytime! Email the show at: BJandBillPodcast@gmail.com, or simply search for "BJandBillPodcast" on Facebook.
Thanks! See you next week...
Happy New Year! Hope and trust yours was spent with the ones you love and care about. This week, BJ and Bill tackle some of the - dare we say? - "regular" topics of any New Year's show: Setting intentions and goals, and if those "resolutions" will stick as the year goes on.
BTW - If you are a listener to the podcast, and also work as a coach or trainer, BJ and Bill would be interested in hearing from you on this big "motivation" thing. What is it that motivates people to - as the cliche goes - "get stuff done." Check in on the Facebook page and let us know. Or maybe even get in touch for an interview! We'd love to hear from you.
Otherwise, there was talk this week on all kinds of family-related stuff. Taking care of sick kids, losing friends and family as the years go on, and more. Taking note of the passing years. Being grateful for having loved ones as time ticks on...
Again, we wish you nothing but the best for 2024!

The Post-Christmas Edition of the BJ and Bill Podcast! We hope and trust your Christmas holiday was everything you hoped it would be, no matter if that included family, friends, or some other quality time. The boys send you all the best this year, and we're looking ahead to the coming of 2024. Can it (hopefully) be a better year?
This week, there's talk of what it was like to work on Christmas (and other holidays) in the radio business. "Back in the day" - before computers took over the world - BJ and Bill would actually show up at their radio stations to be on the air "live," even on the biggest holidays. That makes for some interesting stories.
Of course it's a holiday show, so there are going to be food-related stories. Plenty of those to go around this week... with leftovers to take home, of course. Bill is already talking about a New Year's Resolution to get to the gym more often to work off all those holiday-table treats.
On to 2024! Let's all wish real hard for a better year. With that New Year coming, BJ and Bill wish you the very best. And as you enjoy your holidays, please remember to give the gift of a good review of the show at your favorite podcast outlet. We very much appreciate it! Also, get in touch anytime! Email the show at: BJandBillPodcast@gmail.com, or simply search for "BJandBillPodcast" on Facebook.
Thanks! See you next week...
The Pre-Christmas Edition! Happy Holidays to you and your family, wherever you are and how-ever you celebrate. BJ and Bill wish you a happy holiday season...
This week, along with the Christmas celebration, more sports talk. It's been a crazy football season, and there's some fun stuff to talk about there, too.
Of course most of the episode is all about the holidays. Visiting friends and family, gift-giving (or not) and everything that comes with that. And by "with that," we're talking mostly about the food-related part of holiday celebrations. What's your go-to holiday meal favorite? Any special traditions? BJ talks about one of his... his wife's, actually. Credit where credit is due, after all.
No matter how you celebrate, BJ and Bill wish you the very best.

This week... More hard-hitting dating advice from BJ to Bill. If ever there was a good example of the "blind leading the blind," this is probably it. Check it out and let us know if you have anything to add or update in what BJ has to offer.
Speaking of updates, we'll also be sharing Bill's experience with more advice from BJ... something much more useful and important, in this case: How to warm up leftover pizza! If you'll recall last week's show, BJ talked about the fry-pan method of warming up leftover slices. Did it work? You'll have to listen in to find out.
Also, it seems there's a new competitor on the horizon for BJ and Bill's favorite roadside attraction, Buc-ee's. For now, it's only in the heart of the midwest, but for our listeners in that part of the country, we'd love to hear more about it.
As you enjoy your holidays, please remember to give the gift of a good review of the show at your favorite podcast outlet. We very much appreciate it! Also, get in touch anytime! Email the show at: BJandBillPodcast@gmail.com, or simply search for "BJandBillPodcast" on Facebook.
Thanks! See you next week...
This week... with the Christmas holidays racing up on us at warp speeds, the boys talk about the latest gifts and gift-giving. Every heard of "Squishmallows?" Well, Bill found out all about them on a trip this week to a local mall. Seems they're all the rage this year. Isn't there always something - some particular toy - that's super-popular every Christmas? Some marketing team is earning their annual bonuses this year, for sure.
As always, there's a bit of talk about football, and the college playoff setup. For BJ and Bill, there was a little concern that home-state school Florida State did not get included in the big post-season party... but hey, there's plenty of other good matchups coming to keep an eye on.
All this, and BJ's latest favorite energy drink. All about staying in good shape, right?
As you enjoy your holidays, please remember to give the gift of a good review of the show at your favorite podcast outlet. We very much appreciate it! Also, get in touch anytime! Email the show at: BJandBillPodcast@gmail.com, or simply search for "BJandBillPodcast" on Facebook.
Thanks! See you next week...
On the post-Thanksgiving show, the boys have plenty to be thankful for... but not BJ, not with his beloved Tampa Bay Bucs. The football season marches on, as does the holiday season. There's talk of holiday shopping and more. BJ talks about shopping at one of his (and wife's) favorite spots, Disney World.
There's a good discussion of the evolving universe of Hallmark holiday movies... even though we believe the vast majority of them still use the same two or three basic plotlines.
And there's quite a good philosophical talk about respect and "getting along" this holiday season. Yes, the boys can have a little "deeper" talk now and then. Hard to believe, but true. Time for some holiday magic, it seems!

Happy Thanksgiving from BJ and Bill - the Podcast. On this episode, stories of Thanksgiving, and travels to see family, and how the radio business sometimes got in the way of those travels and family times.
This week in history... one of the big events of the 20th century - this week, 60 years ago. The killing of President John F. Kennedy. BJ and Bill tell stories of early childhood memories. Anyone living at the time no doubt has memories of that day.
Travel plans for the week? Be safe out there. Show some compassion for your fellow travelers in all those airports and highway rest stops around the country. As always, and no matter how you are celebrating this holiday, have a great week. We are always thankful for our listeners!
We very much appreciate you adding your comments, suggestions, and ESPECIALLY reviews! Those great reviews on your favorite podcast outlet are very much appreciated. Get in touch anytime! Email the show at: BJandBillPodcast@gmail.com, or simply search for "BJandBillPodcast" on Facebook.

This week, the boys talk about having dreams about their work. Not their "dream job," but actual dreams about working at radio stations, both real and imagined. Spoiler alert - it usually doesn't go well, in the dream, that is.
There's also talk of football. The NFL season is half over, and it's getting interesting out there. Also interesting, the NBA's mid-season tournament. Feels like the big boys are taking a few hints from March Madness and all the publicity that generates for the sport.
Also from TV...have you watched your first Hallmark Channel holiday movie yet? There's quite the discussion - mostly from BJ - on Hallmark Channel movies. Yes, it's kind of a meme that they all look and feel the same. What do you think?
Have a great week. As always, we very much appreciate you adding your comments, suggestions, and ESPECIALLY reviews! Those great reviews on your favorite podcast outlet are very much appreciated. This week - sleeping with animals. Do your pets share your bed? BJ and Bill discuss the ways out furry friends take over our lives, and lots more. Haloween in the Kelsey neighborhood. No, Taylor Swift did not answer the door for trick-or-treaters. That would have been fun!
Speaking of Haloween candy, how much did you indulge? The boys also talk health and taking care of yourself... and what it looks like on a typical day in your neighborhood Wal-Mart. What are people buying...? What are they eating...?
When it comes to staying healthy, there's quite the discussion of BJ's lifelong issues, and how - at this point in life - he's basically playing with "house money" as the years pass.
Have a great week. As always, we very much appreciate you adding your comments, suggestions, and ESPECIALLY reviews! Those great reviews on your favorite podcast outlet are very much appreciated. Happy Haloween! By the time you hear this episode, the holiday will be over and Christmas shopping season will be in full swing - sorry Thanksgiving! This week, the boys talk about the way holiday shopping stacks up (hint, the turkey gets lost in the shuffle), and lots more.
BJ does his best to catch up Bill on all the various reality - dating shows. Who knew there were so many intricate - and intimate - details. Roses... Fantasy Suites... wow.
Then, on to football, and the "Taylor Swift Curse." What? You don't know what that's all about? Better listen in to the show, for sure. Is the Chiefs season in danger? Will Taylor make the Big Game at the end of the year? You've got questions, we've got (funny) answers.
All this, and a little post-holiday Haloween talk. Don't ghost us, please! (See what we did there...?) We very much appreciate you adding your comments, suggestions, and ESPECIALLY reviews! Those great reviews on your favorite podcast outlet are very much appreciated. Get in touch anytime! Email the show at: BJandBillPodcast@gmail.com, or simply search for "BJandBillPodcast" on Facebook.

A wild and crazy episode, marking the big six-oh! Fun and games at the start of the show, a little (perhaps) NSFW (not safe for work) towards the end.
BJ talks about his younger days, when sports was a thing. Basketball, of course... being from Indiana and all. Trying it these days? Well, let's just say the boys aren't nearly as athletic as they once were..or would like to be now.
How's your memory? The boys talk about how - with all the gadgets and "digital assistants" in the world - we're all losing our memories for stuff like phone numbers, important dates and more.
Finally, with Halloween coming soon (as of this episode dropping), there's some talk about life, death, and scaring little kids. All fun! As for the NSFW stuff... let's just say BJ gets into some hilarious ideas about preserving the body (and important parts) after death.
Funny? You bet. Crazy? As always... Speaking of "as always," we very much appreciate you adding your comments, suggestions, and ESPECIALLY reviews! Those great reviews on your favorite podcast outlet are very much appreciated. Get in touch anytime! Email the show at: BJandBillPodcast@gmail.com, or simply search for "BJandBillPodcast" on Facebook.

Lots of funny stuff this week! BJ goes for an airplane ride - with this grandson as pilot! Yes, he's old enough to fly. The question is... Is BJ too old to fly? Find out.
BJ re-visits an old favorite hangout in Fort Myers, Mel's Diner! What a fun, happening place that was "back in the day." Stay tuned for more info about potential guests to the podcast from there.
There's also a good bit of history... A "this day in history" moment of what's believed to be the first-ever speeding ticket. A "horseless carriage" in England!
As always, the boys would very, VERY much appreciate you adding your comments, suggestions, and ESPECIALLY reviews! Those great reviews on your favorite podcast outlet are very much appreciated. It's taken more than a year of episodes. Of laughs. Of tears. Of sports and memories. Now it's finally happened. BJ and Bill talk about... Early bird specials! Yup, the boys finally get around to talking about of the biggest perks of - shall we say? - becoming "mature." Places to go, things to do, stuff to avoid. And yes, it's pretty darned funny (if we do say so ourselves...).
Other stuff: The season is heating up, so there's talk about football. Actually, it's all about the Dallas Cowboys, and the Kansas City Swifties...errr, Chiefs. Taylor Swift... Good for the NFL, or not? You decide.
Talk about cleaning up the house and getting rid of junk you don't need. One of Bill's favorite topics, and something BJ struggles with in his married life. We could say more, but we don't want to get the boy in (any more) trouble.
Of course your comments, suggestions, and ESPECIALLY reviews are welcome! Those great reviews on your favorite podcast outlet are very much appreciated. Get in touch anytime! Email the show at: BJandBillPodcast@gmail.com, or simply search for "BJandBillPodcast" on Facebook.
See ya next week!
Good news - BJ is back from illness. Feeling better, sounding better, and ready to chat. This week, there's some football talk (the season is getting interesting), and lots more.
A big chunk of the show is catching up on some of the guests who visited the live, on-air BJ and Bill Morning Show in years past. Tune in to this week's episode to hear who their favorite guest interview was of all time... He's still out on the road, and the boys issued an open invite to have this particular artist come back to the show - in podcast form - for an interview. That would be amazing! Who is it?
As always, the boys would very, VERY much appreciate you adding your comments, suggestions, and ESPECIALLY reviews! Those great reviews on your favorite podcast outlet are very much appreciated. This week - BJ is back early from his northern vacation after some health issues while on the road.. for both he and his wife. Wishing them both a speedy recovery. When you tune in this week, you'll hear what's going on for BJ, for sure!
Also this week, more travel news, at least the shortened version. A tidbit more Buc-ee's news, too. Bill has a funny story about what happens when parents take away young people's phones and other electrinc toys. There's a lot of catching up on old-time memories, too, with a couple of special shout-outs to old friends. Is it OK to say old? Senior? Mature? Whatever...

This week - BJ Odom is on the road with a full report of his travels to visit family in Indiana. Of course (of course!) there are stops at our fav truckstop - Buc-ee's - along the way. Note to Buc-ee's... how about sponsoring the boys' show? Along with the travel-stopping-and-shopping, BJ reports on visiting a winery that bears his name in Georgia and lots more.
For Bill, he gets grilled by BJ on his latest dating-life adventures. As BJ says, he's having some vicarious fun listening to Bill's stories of a (shall we say?) late-in-life dating experience. No worries...it's all good! Plenty of helpful (?) dating advice for Bill from The Master as well. Hint: It usually just involves saying two words: "Yes dear."

This episode was recorded on 9/11, leading to memories and more for both BJ and Bill. The BJ and Bill Morning Show was on the air as that fateful day started and played out.
Also this week: It's the start of the NFL football season, and the boys are feeling really good about it all. Favorite teams, players and more... all topics for discussion.
The funny part of the show rolled out as the boys talked about how much it sucks to get old! BJ talked about troubles with his powered scooter... and both boys talked about troubles with the simple aspects of life...like getting up off the floor without help!
In the end, Bill suggested that this particular show would be a great start to BJ's latest on-stage comedy routine. Listen for yourself and let us know...
Remember, if you'd like, the boys would very, VERY much appreciate you adding your comments, suggestions, and ESPECIALLY reviews! Wow... it's been a YEAR of BJ and Bill - the Podcast! This is officially Episode 53, so the boys are into year 2. Break out the cute hats and party favors! BJ and Bill want to thank you so much for all your support, comments and reviews over the year. More fun to come!
In this episode, there's a lot of talk about relationships - both for BJ's daughter and for Bill. Yes, BJ is living vacariously / romantically through all the relationships happening with his friends and family. As for BJ himself, he's always been the "family man" of the show.
There's other talk of favorite fast-food restaurants, too. Did you know that somewhere, someone is keeping track of what the fav fast-food place is for every state? Hear what's the most-preferred in your state - at least according to Google searches.
All this and more. Remember, if you'd like, the boys would very, VERY much appreciate you adding your comments, suggestions, and ESPECIALLY reviews! Show Number 52! It's been a full year of BJ and Bill - the Podcast. You have been listening since the beginning, haven't you? (If not, you can always binge past episodes on your favorite podcast app...).
Still, quite the celebration for the boys as they mark the milestone of 52 weekly episodes. Along with the celebration, there's talk about things like hurricane paths and how to know if you're in trouble (or not). As this week's show drops, a new storm is bearing down on Florida's west coast.
In addition, BJ asks for listener help in finding places of interest to stop, shop and sightsee on his upcoming vacation travels. We also get an update on Bill's dating life, NASCAR racing, and lots more.
All this and more. If you are in Florida...stay safe out there! Still, if you have time in between storm prep, feel free to add in your comments, suggestions, and ESPECIALLY reviews! This week: Some memories, some current events. BJ talks about taking his daughter (years ago) to an N-Sync concert. Weird? Not when you hear the benefits he experienced when being at the show "live and in person."
Bill talks about his latest "retirement." From radio? No, from his most recent side hustle gig in the food-delivery business. "The times, they are a-changing." That leads to some talk about working in the current economic environment. Who's doing it, and who's not. How's that going to work out?
All this, and more, including BJ living vicariously through Bill's dating life. As always, we welcome your comments, suggestions, and ESPECIALLY reviews! Wow! The boys have hit the 50-show milestone! Break out the champagne! (Or your favorite adult beverage.) Who woulda thunk they'd make it this far?
On this show, along with the disucssion of the big five-oh milestone show, the boys dive deep into the wonders of BBQ brisket sandwiches. It all starts with BJ having a late-night craving for a Buc-ee's Brisket Sandwich, and comparing them to local options. Spoiler alert - BJ still prefers Buc-ee's, even over more well-known BBQ outlets.
Make sure you stay till the very end of the show! BJ and Bill get philosophical - and crazy - over the idea of doing the podcast for many, many years to come. Bill has talked about living to be 100... so where would the podcast be if that could actually happen? Needless to say, it's pretty darned funny.

Gotta be honest, folks. This show is - at least at the start - not for the faint of heart when it comes to health-related exams, poking and prodding... by a qualified, licensed professional, of course! Yup, there's more BJ "health talk" ... for both he and his wife. Gets a little personal, but nothing you've not heard before. Still, you have been warned.
Then the boys get to rant a bit about things like healthcare in general, jobs and working, and more. Bill complains more about delivering pizza for a (part time) living, and BJ remembers and shared some of his better experiences and travels from the comedy club business.
All this, and more. Just like every week! And don't forget! Your comments, suggestions, and especially REVIEWS are welcome. Trivia question answered this week on BJ and Bill - the Podcast: Just how many pills does BJ take in the course of a week? ... a month? Some crazy numbers are batted about by the boys on this week's show. Not just the raw numbers, but the costs, too. It's enough to make you want to stay healthy!
Here's another - not so trivial - question from the boys on this week's show: Do you post tons of vacation pictures to your social media feeds? We already know the answer - of course you do! The question is: Do you enjoy seeing your friend's vaca in those beautiful, wonderful, expensive places around the globe, or does it just make you frustrated over another drive to Orlando? Plenty of good discussions on vacations, bragging about them, and more.

This week, catching up on BJ's ongoing health and wellness story. Another routine hospital and doc visit for the man who should be getting frequent flyer miles for his travels to and from Tampa General Hospital. The good news: BJ continues to be in good health, aside from the usual complaints of a couple guys saddled with simply getting older...
Also, stay tuned as BJ offers Bill some "highly valuable" dating advice. You be the judge on on the value of the advice. Hint: It has to do with who picks the movie for the first date. For Bill, that opportunity is already passed... but maybe it'll help your dating life!
The boys also get into a bit of a heated discussion (not at each other) over the "trust the science" debates of the past couple of years. Honestly, they do a pretty good job of keeping it "familiy friendly" ... as they used to say about the radio show in years past.

This week, a show "about nothing" as the used to say on Seinfeld. BJ and Bill had hoped to have a special surprise guest on the program, but alas, the stars just didn't line up. Maybe next week. Still, plenty of funny stuff about emojis (we know you love them!), the humble beginnings of Chik-fil-a, and lots more.
The big discussion of the week is about BJ's heart-transplant history. We answer the question, how long as anyone lived with a transplanted heart? Tune in to find the answer. (Hint: It's a long time, and BJ has some catching-up to do!) The boys did some quick Googling and found the person who's lived the longest... so there's another great guest that could be on the show! (We're working on it...)

This week - a VERY special guest on the show with BJ and Bill. Longtime Southwest Florida radio personality - and lots more - Dave Alexander. Dave and BJ go way back to the "early days" of radio in Fort Myers, Cape Coral and Naples. Many people will also recognize Dave's voice as the public address announcer for the Florida Everblades hockey games!
Like BJ and Bill, Dave has had his ups and downs on the local SW Florida radio scene, even though he (unlike BJ and Bill) didn't shift from station to station quite as much. In almost three decades of work in local radio, Dave was a rock-solid, alway-there personality for local listeners. Needless to say, he's got some great stories to share with BJ and Bill listeners.

Not gonna lie, folks... there may be a little NSFW (Not Safe for Work) conversation on this episode of the podcast! Let's just say some of the talk on this week's show would never have been allowed on the old BJ and Bill show on "live radio" back in the day! Still, it's fun stuff, with talk of "adult activities" and the intrustion of technology. Guess you're just going to have to listen for all the juicy details!
Also, there's more Buc-ee's talk... how the chain is expanding in Florida, and around the country. Anyone for a trip to Gatlinburg, Tennessee? And of course when you're at Buc-ee's, there's going to be snacks. That leads BJ to a new survey of the most popular potato chip flavors in your local supermarket. Where does yours end up in the power rankings?

Basically, this entire show is just two old guys, reminiscing and complaining. You're wondering, "so what else is new?" Yeah, probably. But it seems more on-point this show. That's a thing, right?
First, there's a rundown on one of the hard aspects of old-person life: The community HOA, or home-owners association. BJ talks about living in various HOA-regulated communities in recent years. The good, the bad, and the ugly. And yes, there's a little of each of those.
There's quite a bit more radio history this week, too. Not just with Southwest Florida, but some fun facts about radio and broacasting history, as well as stations the boys listened to in their younger days.
Finally, it's on to another old-guy favorite topic: food. Where did you last eat out? Was it a good experience? Again, there's some good, bad and ugly on this subject. Seems to be a trending topic this week.

This week: Fun stuff, scary stuff. All on one show!
First, BJ and Bill discuss the merits of a certain type of "gummy" snack. OK, not really a snack, but it's something that can certainly put you in a better mood - just like chocolate! Definitely a lot stronger than chocolate, for sure.
Also, there's quite the disucssion on some of the more serioius aspects of AI - artificial intelligence. There are so many new - and frankly scary - ways that AI can be put to work for the "dark side." BJ and Bill talk about how it might show up in everyday life, and in some really important ways... such as influencing elections, in taking peoples' jobs and more. A little more serious for the guys, but it's a good discussion.

This week...things get a little frisky! BJ and Bill go into some down-and-dirty details on past relationships and dating lives. OK, maybe not so frisky, but some juicy details for sure. As always, there's plenty of history, good times and funny details.
There's also some back-office story of The Podcast Playground, the network supporting BJ and Bill - The Podcast. There's a lot going on with the Playground, and some very cool and interesting shows (and one of them is this very podcast, of course!)

Wow... 40 shows! The numbers are adding up, and - to be honest - BJ and Bill impressed themselves with the longevity and consistency of the show. We hope you like it, too.
This week, gotta admit, it's a little more "adult oriented" show than usual. There's some talk about living a long, happy life, and the options of staying - shall we say - physically and intimately active well into one's senior years. Might be a little edgy, compared to the usual "family friendly" BJ and Bill shows of the past. Nothing to crazy...just letting you know.
Also theres talk of pets, soul mates and lots more. BJ talks about "killing it" in comedy clubs, and more. Oh by the way, the pet thing and the soul-mate thing are related. Yeah, pretty crazy.

This week - a very, very special guest on the program with the boys. We won't reveal the name here... you'll have to listen in for yourself. It's another of BJ and Bill's former radio-related friends and co-workers. In fact, both BJ and Bill worked with this guest at different radio stations in Southwest Florida.
Tune in for stories of past days of radio glory, the good and not-so-good people in the music business all three have crossed paths with, and what's going on now in everyone's lives. Hint: there's gonna be talk of grandchildren.

This week, a bit of "personal development" from non-certified, non-professional life coaches BJ and Bill! As they say on the TV commercials for medical stuff, "please consult a real doctor if you need help." Still, the boys are here to talk about their own business successes and failures. There's also some talk about the team running the podcast network where BJ and Bill - The Podcast is produced. Those are business go-getters! Anyway, it's all interesting conversation.
Along with that, there's some NBA and NHL predictions, sure to be wrong on some level, and sure to be outdated quickly (as of this episode's posting date). But never mind, we enjoy talking smack about sports whenever we can.
Most important, the powerful, touching and scary story of BJ's birthday dinner..and how the food fought back! You won't want to miss this one. In typical BJ and Bill fasion, it's funny, weird and true, all at the same time. So what else is new?

Wow! The boys cover a lot of ground in this episode...you'll want to stay to the very end to hear all the crazy-ness. Most importantly, it's a very Happy Birthday to BJ Odom. The day this podcast drops is his latest... how old? Guess you'd better tune in and find out.
Other topics of the day: BJ says he wants to go out for lobster or crab (or both) for his birthday dinner. So, is that melted "butter" they give you at the seafood restaurant really butter? Your heart and arteries want to know!
Bill reviews his progress (or lack thereof) on a couple of different dating sites. How's it going for him? Well, let's just say he's still a single man.. still looking.
Quick hits: The most humid cities in America. Fun fact: No city in Florida makes the Top Ten on the list. And how about groceries? Do you have yours delivered? Lots of people do.

I hope we remember what this episode is about! No worries, we took good notes... But that's because there's quite the discussion of getting older, memory loss and lots more on this week's episode of BJ and Bill - The Podcast.
Speaking of Disney, there's a short (and thankfully non-political) talk on the troubles between the House of Mouse and the state of Florida. What will happen? Who knows... But it's interesting to think about, for sure.
There's talk of a trip to Disney World's less-traveled park, Animal Kingdom. In addition, the boys talk about their love affairs with cars through the years.

It's the Radio History Hour! Well, sort of... This week, BJ and Bill go back, WAY back, into the radio history archives to talk about the early days of broadcasting in the Fort Myers, Naples, Cape Coral area. The boys discuss some "inside the game" topics for radio - consultants, managers, music and more.
BJ also shares the story of how he made a "guest star" appearance on another podcast recently, and how that led to him being called a "legend." Yeah, we couldn't believe it either, but it happened. You'll have to listen for all the interesting details.
On the sports front, there's a little talk fo NBA, NHL and more... And more importantly, how BJ is about to enter the wild and crazy world or cornhole. Yes, it's a thing. Feel free to look it up on social media.

This week - a special expanded edition of the show! One hour just wasn't enough to hold all the stories and extra conversations with the first-ever on-show guest for BJ and Bill - The Podcast!
Before the guest, there's talk of one of Florida's favorite critters, the love bug! Yes, it's almost that time of year again, so have your detergent and scrub-brushes ready as your car is once again bombarded by the little flying monsters.
Second half of the show: Special guest Ted Fitzgeorge... long time SW Florida radio personality, real estate agent and hurricane survivor. Our friend has so many great stories, and he shares some of them on this episode of BJ and Bill - The Podcast.
As always, listener comments, suggestions and your own sedative-induced stories are welcome. Get in touch any time! Email the show at: BJandBillPodcast@gmail.com, or simply search for "BJandBillPodcast" on Facebook.

Bill has a new job! Just like the - shall we say? - senior citizens you see bagging groceries and doing other jobs, Bill has taken up a new "side hustle" to make a few dollars and avoid afternoon boredom. Listen in as he talks about the exciting new gig!
Also on this episode, BJ provides a movie review, and talks about his new appreciation for Hallmark Channel and their neverending supply of "rom-com" (romantic comediy) movies. Yes, they're all the same, but that hasn't stopped BJ from becoming a fan.
Finally, BJ admits that - still. to this day - he does not have a passport. Not that anyone is traveling a lot in these crazy days, but it's still interesting stuff. These stories, plus all the usual BJ and Bill news, trivia, gossip and more.
As always, listener comments, suggestions and your own sedative-induced stories are welcome. Get in touch any time! Email the show at: BJandBillPodcast@gmail.com, or simply search for "BJandBillPodcast" on Facebook.

Lots of different, fun stuff in this week's episode. BJ shares some newfound knowledge about dolphins. If you live in Florida, or anywhere near southern waters, you've probably got a dolphin story to share...and we encourage you to do that!
Also this week, talk about moving out of the snowy north and heading to Florida Lots of people are doing just that...and some arrive with some interesting beliefs. We'll skewer a few of them. In addition, there's BJ's interesting story of getting his first radio gig in Florida, with his then 4 year-old son in tow.
The boys talk about south-of-the-border vacations (don't drink the water!), gator-spotting, and lots more.

We are not saying this might be a "not safe for work" episode, but you may want to listen in private, just the same. Why? Well, on this week's show, BJ and Bill go in-depth on a new scientific study that's all about.... well.... farting. Yup! It's a thing - the scientific study, that is. The quesiton is: who passes gas more... older people or younger? Guess you'll have to listen in to find out for yourself. Admit it, you really want to know...
So with that out of the way, what else is up this week? There's some catching up with BJ's kids and a recent visit to check in with his son. There's talk of solar power for homes, good and bad eating habits (more gas-related info, eh?) and lots more.
As always, listener comments, suggestions and your own sedative-induced stories are welcome. Get in touch any time! Email the show at: BJandBillPodcast@gmail.com, or simply search for "BJandBillPodcast" on Facebook.

This week, everything you ever wanted to know about farm life, raising pigs for the County Fair, and lots more. What?!? You didn't want to know about farm life? Well, just wait till you hear some of BJ's stories of raising "swine" for fairs... and post-fair markets. Now you know where that amazing bacon comes from!
Also on this episode, we finally figure out how to get Alexa - or whatever your brand of "smart speaker" may be - to play the BJ and Bill Podcast! It actually worked...and now you can do the same at your house, too.
Finally, there's a little of that "getting older" stuff. Talk about going for various proceedures...not fun. But the happy drugs one gets to make things go smoothly... lots of fun!

AI - artificial intelligence - is everywhere these days. If you haven't heard of it yet, you will! Plenty of people are worried about our robot overlords taking over jobs of all kinds, and in this episode, BJ and Bill discuss how that might happen in the radio business, too. Crazy, but the voice you hear on the radio might not be human - even though they sound just like your favorite radio "personalities."
As always, listener comments, suggestions and your own rants are welcome. We welcome your stories, memories and questions, and farmer's market advice! Email the show at: BJandBillPodcast@gmail.com, or simply search for "BJandBillPodcast" on Facebook.
Thanks! See you next week...
Ever wondered how all those old-school radio "call-us now" contests worked? Well, in this week's episode, BJ and Bill tell the exciting, behind-the-scenes stories of how radio contests worked for their radio stations, as well as others nation-wide. Did you ever win something on the BJ and Bill Show? Hopefully, you weren't a "Prize Hog." Heeheehee...
Somehow, the conversation turns from radio contests to fast-food burgers and other eating-out spots, and then to bathroom flushing practises. Yeah, we know... what a wierd combination! Still, it all seems to flow (pardon the pun) from one thing to the next.
Finally, it all ends with BJ's man-crush on a certain TV reality show host. Who's the lucky man? Tune in to this week's episode and find out!
As always, listener comments, suggestions and your own rants are welcome. We welcome your stories, memories and questions, and farmer's market advice! Email the show at: BJandBillPodcast@gmail.com, or simply search for "BJandBillPodcast" on Facebook.

Yes, yes, we know. Quite the cliche... Getting old sucks. It's not for sissies. Whatever. We get it. Still, when things start to happen to you and people around you in life, it gets your attention. This week, there's a discussion of some old friends - and how life and time have treated some very well and others...not so much. There's talk of gray hair, no hair, and more.
Also, the boys spend some time talking about how big names in sports (in this case basketball and NASCAR) get injured, come back from injury, and what their teams do while the superstars are in recovery.
As always, listener comments, suggestions and your own rants are welcome. We welcome your stories, memories and questions, and farmer's market advice! Email the show at: BJandBillPodcast@gmail.com, or simply search for "BJandBillPodcast" on Facebook.

Seems that Bill may have had a little too much caffeine this morning... On this Episode - Number Two of Season Two - he goes off on more than a few things that are apparently bugging him. Most of the trash talk is reserved for veggie-based foods, trying to masquerade as things we really like...
That also leads to talk about the words people use to describe all kinds of things, including themselves, their particular life-orientations (is that a thing?), politics and lots more. One example: Don't like the high price of eggs? Buy a few chickens. Weird, we know...

For no particular reason, BJ and Bill thought 24 was a good number of episodes for a "season" of podcasts. Is there even such as thing as seasons in podcasts? We don't know, but that's not stopping us from starting Season Two right here, right now at Episode 25. Does it matter? Not really... but hey, it's our podcast, and we'll do what we want.
So in this episode, there's a run down of some popular sports making it big on TV these days. As of this recording, the NBA All-Star game was just completed, along with big NASCAR races and - yes - pickleball! Bill gets to show off some nuggets of p-ball knowledge, and BJ talks NASCAR racing.
Also, there's an interesting discussion of online (and offline) dating, the process of meeting people, and if the "swipe right / swipe left" way of finding a new special someone is even really a good way to handle such an important process. Give it a listen and let us know what you think!

For reasons still yet to be determined, this Episode - Number 24 - marks the official end of Season 1 of the BJ and Bill podcast. Nope, there's no particular reason for it... no logic that specifies how many episodes are in a "season" ... we just decided 24 was a season. So there's that...
A little bit of just-past Super Bowl coverage in this one, especially the games musical content... meaning the halftime show and very powerful (for us, anyway) National Anthem rendition by Chris Stapleton.
Also on the show, a lot of old, OLD radio memories for both the boys. Radio careers that have spanned many years! Both BJ and Bill talk about some of their first gigs in the radio biz, and the crazy people and events that filled the time.
As always, we welcome your stories, memories and questions. Email the show at: BJandBillPodcast@gmail.com, or simply search for "BJandBillPodcast" on Facebook.
Thanks! See you next week... for Season Two!
Yes, BJ Odom is (thankfully) moved in to his new home! Now the unpacking, sorting and finding-spots-for-stuff gets underway. There's just a bit of catching-up on the new home, but lots more on this latest edition of the podcast.
The boys talk about football and other sports... especially with the Super Bowl just a few days away from the release of this episode. There's also talk of NASCAR racing, and how most every sport tries to reach a bigger and bigger audience. Sometimes that works, sometimes not so much.
As always, we welcome your stories, memories and questions. Email the show at: BJandBillPodcast@gmail.com, or simply search for "BJandBillPodcast" on Facebook.
Thanks! See you next week.
Yes, it's true! BJ has finally moved into his new home in central Florida, and the first day did not pass without the sh!t almost literally hitting the fan. OK, it wasn't a fan, but for our money, what's the difference what it hits? Hear the big-time adventure moving story in all its excitement. Now of course comes sorting out all the stuff.
Other big news... There's excitement in the air in NCFL (North Central Florida) with the "breaking news" announcement of a Buc-ee's coming to the area - right down the road from Bill Stevens! Does Bill have a new career opportunity staring him in the face? What would it be like working at one of the world's biggest gas stations and travel stops? If you've never been to a Buc-ee's (a staple of Southeast U.S. highways), you'll have to listen to find out more.

This week, a conversation that lots of people have, whenever one of those super-sized lottery prizes starts making news. What would you do if you won the mega-sized lotto jackpot? For BJ and Bill, that might mean living in some far-flung overseas location. At least for the two guys, it’s somewhere where there's no snow…
There’s a little bit more history in this episode, too. Some of that history extends “way back” to before the BJ and Bill Show was a thing. The backstory of how both guys arrived in Southwest Florida… the first stations and people they worked for, and how it all worked out in the end.

This week, a bit more BJ and Bill history. As every radio-person knows, there are plenty of times “between jobs” in the broadcasting business. For BJ, there were some interesting times spent on a casino cruise in the waters off Southwest Florida. That leads to a big talk on gambling, the lottery and more money matters.
Then, both BJ and Bill share stories of staying in touch with the world with varying degrees of internet connectivity. On the road, off the road, everywhere.
Speaking of “on the road,” BJ goes off on a discussion of highway, rest stop and gas station bathrooms. How do the boys get off on these topics? Hard to say.
After talking about various fast-food stops, their bathrooms and other matters, the conversation ends with a talk on businesses, customer service and more. Bill has a couple stories on getting businesses to respond to really bad episodes of service, especially when it comes to pizza… Bill’s favorite!
This week, you can share your stories on all things restroom, fast food and traveling. Email the show at: BJandBillPodcast@gmail.com, or simply search for "BJandBillPodcast" on Facebook.
Thanks! See you next week.
A great song from one of our favorites - Steely Dan - starts off the episode, and with it comes the search for other song-title names to be used for upcoming episodes. Who knows how long it can go on? Better stay tuned to find out.
So of course there's the latest on BJ's real estate dealings. Thankfully, that saga is almost over. But not without a little drama still to come. After that, the boys dive (carefully) into the idea of nude pickleball. Yes, it's a thing! Thankfully, this is an audio-only podcast, so there's no danger of seeing anything NSFW. Still, the mind reels at the idea of senior citizens... Well, never mind.
There's also talk of Bill's latest online business venture. Will he ever make a dollar from all this work? Who knows! If you have some fun ideas you'd like to share (no nude sports, please!) feel free to share them by getting in touch: Email the show at: BJandBillPodcast@gmail.com, or simply search for "BJandBillPodcast" on Facebook.
Thanks! See you next week.
Happy New Year! (Whenever you happen to be listening to this episode). Not surprisingly, the show is all about the New Year: Resolutions made and broken, food, family and fun. And for BJ, another celebration - the sale of his house...and plans to move to the new one. Also, BJ describes how - for 2023 - he will no longer be "hip." (Whatever that means!)
Of course it's the New Year, so there's also talk of the New Years' Resolution Diet and other changes and upgrades for the coming 12 months. What are your goals and plans for the new year? Feel free to share them by getting in touch: Email the show at: BJandBillPodcast@gmail.com, or simply search for "BJandBillPodcast" on Facebook.
Thanks! See you next week.
This week: An important update on the real estate front from BJ... will he soon be homeless? Also, Bill is labeled a "trendsetter" for his interest in pickleball. Yes, it's a thing... how could you have missed all the hype? All this and more, including a bit of a rant from Bill... Don't worry - nothing too scary!

This week: It's all about Christmas... what else? BJ and Bill cover Christmas memories from years gone by. Not just from radio days, but all the way back to childhood. Favorite Christmas song, favorite Christmas movie, favorite (and worst) Christmas gift... you get the idea. The boys get into a little bit of a discussion of who still says "Merry Christmas" any more (or who may be coming back to that particular expression after not using it for a time...) Either way, it's all holiday, all the time. Happy Holidays!

This week: Seems everyone - and we mean everyone! - is asking for your review these days. With so many people looking online to find a plumber, car repair shop - and even doctor - reviews are the new currency of the social media world. In this episode, BJ talks about leaving a bad review for a doctor's office he visited recently. Yes, even medical offices are looking for reviews. But what happens when the patient isn't exactly happy with the way they were treated? (Pardon the pun.) We'll hear from BJ and Bill about leaving reviews and getting companies - and even doctor's offices - to respond to customers with "issues."

This week: A bit more of BJ Odom history, as the boys talk about very different experiences of growing up. For BJ, it was in the farm country of Indiana. For Bill, the suburbs of Cleveland, Ohio. BJ talks about some of the interesting "crops" he sampled as a young man, and the decisions he made about life and health as a result of some interesting experiences with (at the time) less-than-legal substances.

Sure, we all enjoy Thanksgiving... For the food and family, of course. But for some, it's a high holiday for football, too! This week BJ and Bill review some of the important games, including Bill's OG team, the Cleveland Browns. Speaking of sports, BJ grills Bill on his new favorite sport, pickleball. Yes! It's a thing. (Check YouTube.)
The real excitement of this episode is a "live" on-air training session, as BJ and Bill attempt to teach Alexa (Amazon's "digital assistant" to find BJ's country music radio station, and to play the podcast. Do they succeed? Tune in to find out, and listen as the guys confuse and amuse poor Alexa.
As always, you can get in touch to share your stories, ask your questions or simply make a great comment. Email the guys at BJandBillPodcast@gmail.com, or simply search for "BJandBillPodcast" on Facebook. Leave a comment and say hello!
It's true - even BJ and Bill were not always "radio people." Just like everyone else, there were other jobs along the way, especially when both the guys were younger. Turns out both BJ and Bill worked at gas stations in their younger days. Tune in to this week's episode for some interesting stories of those olden-days.
Other items of interest: Do you "weigh in" every day? Every week? The guys talk about various weight-loss journeys, and how just about everyone who was ever on the air in radio has been approached to be the spokesperson for one or the other weight-loss program. Heavy stuff, for sure. (See what we did there?)
Tune in for this and a lot more on this weeks episode (Number 12!) of the Bj and Bill Podcast. Thanks!
It's a road-trippin', food-lovin' episode of the BJ and Bill Podcast! This week: Bill talks about "discovering" the amazing chain of Buc-ee's Travel Centers. Plenty of talk about travel, shopping, and a great BBQ discovery. Speaking of food, the conversation turns from barbecue to the Chicken Sandwich Wars. Who do you like? Finally, there's some really "way-back" talk of learning to drive and other craziness from the very, VERY young days of BJ and Bill.

Amazing!! Episode 10. BJ and Bill reminisce about the good ole days of the BJ and Bill Show. Back then it was two young guys talking about nothing. Now it's two old guys, talking about nothing. Thank you for listening.
On this episode, BJ and Bill - like a lot of "senior citizens" - get into a discussion of "where to live?" in later years. Sure, everyone wants to live in Florida, but where? Let's talk about home vs. apartment living, moving to The Villages (and all that comes with that!) and lots more.
More: Do you have any of those "smart" home gadgets? Does Alexa run your life? More importantly, do you think that digital assistants like Siri, Alexa and others are secretly (or not-so-secretly) listening to everything you say? Now that it's a connected world, who knows where it all leads to?

On this week's episode of the BJ and Bill Podcast: Who knew the guys where real estate experts? Well, they're not, but that doesn't stop them from talking about home buying, moving, and all the fun and games that comes with that process. BJ is heading to a new home, and he's already got stories of the new place... as well as from his past move, just a few years ago.
As always, there's some "inside radio" talk, with news of the retirement of one of the big names in the business. Speaking of retirement and getting to be more of a "senior citizen," BJ and Bill talk about how things change over the years, including sleeping, napping and more.

This week on the BJ and Bill Podcast: Latest updates on the big upcoming move for BJ. OK, it's just an hour or so from one house to the new one, but there's still plenty going on in the Odom household.
Later, there's a bigger, tastier discussion of pizza (see what we did there?). BJ introduces Bill to the idea of a "Cleveland-style" pizza, which comes as a total surprise, since Bill is from Cleveland, and he's never heard of it! New York, Chicago styles, sure. Now... Cleveland?
Join in the discussion of pizza and everything else on our Facebook page. Just search for "BJ and Bill Podcast" and you'll find us! Also, be on the lookout for more social media connections. These two old guys are thinking of getting on "the 'gram" and maybe even Tik Tok. Hilarious

This week BJ Odom reveals a major life decision. Along with the help of his beautiful bride, they lay out a new 70 day plan; not 90 days, not a couple of months, a "70" day plan. (this is known as a tease - listen the show to find out what BJ is up to).
Hurricane Ian talk continues with some first hand accounts and a question: Where do all the cars damaged by the storm go?
All this, plus lots more fun and interesting stuff, and some random ramblings by a couple of cranky old guys, too.
