today we’re talking about the best part of movies - the parts that are songs. sometimes the songs aren’t even actually in the movies. this episode is roughly the same amount of time as a movie that could have been 30 minutes shorter, so get yourself some popcorn, turn down the lights, and give yourself a real theatre experience
I have nothing funny to say because today we are diving deep into one of several perfect Fiona Apple albums. I am certain, dear readers, that we did not do it justice. you have my permission to substitute this episode with just listening to Tidal for however long this episode is.
well folks, we’re going through the big V and I don’t mean Vallas. it’s time to discuss the birds, the bees, and the deep dark sadness of valentine’s day. we managed to find some songs written about love and other sticky things to dissect in an attempt to really get it. call me mike myers because I think I just might be a love guru now!!!!
the year was 2003. that was 20 years ago, (between us honestly I think maybe it was only 10 years ago, still gathering the evidence). we cover everything from the fries that brought the nation together to the guys that tore us apart (ruben studdard vs. clay aiken). this one is also very long but when you consider that we fully covered an entire calendar year, it’s roughly only 2.5 minutes per day so that’s pretty good.
