This chapter sees Claire and Rebecca sit down with fellow Corkonian and indie bookshop owner Fiona from Leaf and Bower.
In their first in-person interview, Claire and Rebecca found a special kind of magic in this, where the tea is flowing, laughs are had, and so many books are discussed. The insight into the background of owning a bookshop is so interesting, and Fiona's recommendations are fantastic.

In this episode Claire & Rebecca chat to Steven Oâ Riordan who co-authored the book âWhispering Hopeâ about women who survived the Magdalene Laundries. Raised to advocate for those who needed his help, Steven got involved with meeting survivors of Magdalene Laundries, helping them to access the redress scheme, and took it upon himself to help to tell the stories that these women had kept quiet for far too long.
Stevenâs book Whispering Hope tells the accounts of five women who survived the Magdalene Laundries. His documentary The Forgotten Maggies is available on YouTube. Watch "The Forgotten Maggies" Documentary here

When we were brainstorming who we could invite to be our first author interview, we had a short list of criteria: We wanted an Irish author, someone who had a book recently released,  and someone who we could have a bit of craic with and this lady came straight to mind. Catherine Walsh is the new queen of contemporary Romance in Ireland (and elsewhere if the reviews are anything to go by!) and one of the funnest accounts to follow on Bookstagram. Sinéad Cuddihy was the first person we both wanted to interview in a bookish podcast. Why? Because she runs the Tired Mammy Book Club and has encouraged us both to pick up a book and get back into reading at a time when we needed that little push of encouragement.
SinĂ©adâs monthly book club, which is not just for mammies btw, has brought some wonderful books into our lives and has connected us to some of the loveliest people on this little corner of the internet. SinĂ©ad never fails to amaze us with her ability to have a job, be a mammy, run a household, AND run a hugely successful online book club on top of it all!
