Akuto KONOU, an urban planner from Togo and Doctoral Assistant at the EPFL, talks about urban primacy in Africa and insists all professions need to dig into their capacity to tackle the planning challenges faced by African cities. She further speaks of the urgency to tackle the ‘dictatorship of emergency’ especially when it comes to dealing with the urban planning challenges in major African cities.
