Today, I had an unforgettable experience while giving a ride to a talented singer named Charlie. He shared his heartfelt story with me, and we bonded over his emotional lyrics. As he sang, it was clear how much his family meant to him, especially his soon-to-be-born daughter, Kiara Renee Williams. We sped to the hospital, where Charlie's wife was in labor, and he promised to take care of her and their growing family. This ride was truly special, and I was honored to be a part of Charlie's life for a brief moment, helping him get to the hospital to welcome his new baby girl.

John is spending the day with his son, going together to the gym and John's work place. John has been practicing martial arts for years and recently joined an MMA gym to improve his skills. His coach, a former UFC fighter, has been helping him transition from traditional martial arts to MMA. Training at the gym has been intense, and he has learned the importance of BJJ and striking in the cage. He has discovered the value of the martial arts concept of Ohana - treating everyone like family.

On Christmas Eve, an 82nd Airborne Division squad including Harold O'Connor of West Seneca was sent to an outpost ahead of the ridge that marked the American lines. Only a few squad members were still alive by Dec. 26, when the Germans attacked in force.
"I saw hundreds of German soldiers running toward us," O'Connor recalled. "I ran toward them to get to my machine gun, they were about 50 to 75 yards away from me. I heard nothing, I just ran, I hit the ground and then opened up on them. I saw hundreds of them hit the deck."
With the German return fire concentrating on his solitary position and "thousands of rounds chipping the farm house behind me," O'Connor set a demolition charge and crawled to the building. Once around the corner, he was joined by his squad sergeant, and they sprinted for the American lines.
Behind them, another trooper kept firing his mortar until the German rush engulfed him.
"I owe this to my buddies, who died needlessly," he said after relating his bitter memories.
"We were just kids."
