It’s major time again with the LPGA heading to France for The Amundi Evian Championship. The fourth of five Grand Slam events for the world’s best women gets underway Thursday night Australian time while the PGA TOUR joins forces with the D World Tour to co-sanction the Scottish Open at Renaissance Golf Club in North Berwick and the ISCO Championship in Kentucky. Meanwhile, LIV Golf head to Spain for LIV Golf Andalucia at the famed Valderrama course.

There’s barely time to draw breath between majors this week when the best of the LPGA gather in Texas for the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship at Fields Ranch East at PGA Frisco and the best over 50s are at Firestone Country Club for the Kaulig Companies Championship. The majors are coming thick and fast and this week it’s the US Open at Oakmont. The big guns of men’s world golf are assembled in Pennsylvania ready to do battle on one of the world’s truly great courses with storylines aplenty waiting to unfold. A week off from major talk as the travelling global circus that is golf gets back into full swing. It’s major time again with the best women in the world taking on the daunting Erin Hills layout in Wisconsin for the most prestigious title in the game, the US Women’s Open. Normal programming resumes after Scottie Scheffler’s runaway victory at the PGA. The World No.1 isn’t resting, though, taking his place in the field at the Charles Schwab Challenge in Texas while the DP World Tour hosts the Soudal Open in Belgium. The LPGA is offshore in Mexico for the MEXICO Riviera Maya Open at Mayakoba and the Asian Tour is in Korea for the Kolon Korea Open.

There’s only one show in town this week and it is the second men’s major for the year, the PGA Championship, to be played at the Quail Hollow Golf Club in North Carolina. A regular stop on the PGA TOUR, the course will be familiar to many in the field including Masters champion Rory McIlroy, who has won here four times in his career.

It’s three weeks away but The Masters is already on the minds of those teeing up in the PGA TOUR’s Houston Open this week. While they are in Texas the LPGA heads to the desert of Arizona for the Ford Championship, the DP World Tour is in India at the always interesting DLF Golf Club for the Indian Open and the Challenger PGA Tour of Australasia wraps up at The National in Victoria. Sad news from home as the approach of Cyclone Alfred sees the Australian WPGA Championship on the Gold Coast cancelled for safety reasons. No such problems elsewhere in the world, however, as the LPGA heads to China for the Blue Bay LPGA tournament, the PGA TOUR remains in Florida for the signature Arnold Palmer Invitational and the DP World Tour is in South Africa for the Joburg Open. There’s also digital golf on offer from the TGL while closer to home the NZ PGA takes on extra importance with the race for the Order of Merit and associated benefits drawing to a close.

Action aplenty with two of the world’s oldest national Opens being played this week, the NZ Open in Queenstown on the Challenger PGA Tour of Australasia and the Investec South African Open at Durban Country Club on the DP World Tour. There’s one tournament that will dwarf all others this week and that’s the PGA Tour’s flagship event, The PLAYERS at TPC Sawgrass in Florida. It’s the 50th staging of the event and while several of the game’s biggest names won’t be in attendance those that are will no doubt put on a great show. While that’s going on in the U.S the final event of the Challenger PGA Tour of Australasia season plays out at The National Golf Club in Victoria with six players still a mathematical chance to play their way to the DP World Tour.
