For I am about to do a brand-new thing. See, I have already begun! So we have a job to do! There’s a banquet table ready for us not only in eternity but we get to worship together now on earth as the church and we have an opportunity to have the house filled all the time!We are called to be a part of the Church and to build eachother up and say “Come and see what the Lord has done”!We have to Invite people to church: People will make excuses and don’t get discouraged by that ~ Make sure to not put an expiration date on your invite!2. Follow MeCome and see is the invite, but Come and Follow me is the start of discipleship.It doesn’t cost you anything to COME AND SEE, but it will cost you everything to take hold of COME AND FOLLOW ME3. Go and TellThis is known as the GREAT COMMISSION. It’s still great today and we have to do it! You need to know what you believe and why you believe it! Be ready! This is not just for the Pastors and Professors. The congregation looks at the Pastors, and the Pastors look at the Experts. Jesus is in His own category, The highest Place, the Greatest! There’s no one like Him! You don’t blend Him into what you value, He is ABOVE all of that and you value the things you value because He is LORD. That’s how it should be. He is in His OWN category. Revere Christ as Holy.Ken Boa (Theologian): “In other words, be certain Jesus is Lord of your life & affirm your utter dependence upon Him”God’s not asking you to give an airtight argument and defence - He’s asking you to present an airtight person, JESUS CHRIST! The personal JESUS, oftentimes can’t be explained and is often experienced through love, grace… One moment with God will change your Forever!Many people make Jesus their SAVIOUR (Jesus save me from my SIN, SHAME, Addictions etc) but you have to make Jesus your LORD too. BE READY! Be ready with a response that shows off, Jesus!It says to ALWAYS be prepared - Greek word for Always is tricky, it means ALWAYS.Don’t try to argue or attack them when you’re asked to give an answer for the HOPE you have. The letter was written as an encouragement in the midst of Suffering in that time. Basically saying - Here’s how to live out your faith! Practical advice!Key elements: Joy, Suffering, Identity in Christ, The hope we have in Christ and Holiness.It almost sounds like Peter is writing this letter with emphasis placed on ‘DON’T GIVE UP’! Maybe today you feel like you want to give up but Peter shows us that there IS a hope to keep holding on to, a living HOPE.SUFFERING AND STRUGGLES DEEPENS YOUR FAITH.We don't hope for struggles, but as Christians we have a living Hope carrying us through it.God takes us THROUGH the stromsWE HAVE A LIVING HOPEHope in the dictionary is this: An optimistic state of mind that is based on an expectation of positive outcomes with respect to events and circumstances in one’s life or the world at large. Our Hope is not that same definition of Hope. 1 Peter 2: 4-10 ESV 'As you come to him, a living stone rejected by men but in the sight of God chosen and precious, you yourselves like living stones are being built up as a spiritual house, to be a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. For it stands in Scripture: “Behold, I am laying in Zion a stone, a cornerstone chosen and precious, and whoever believes in him will not be put to shame.” So the honor is for you who believe, but for those who do not believe, “The stone that the builders rejected has become the cornerstone,” and “A stone of stumbling, and a rock of offense.” They stumble because they disobey the word, as they were destined to do. But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light. Once you were not a people, but now you are God’s people; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.'

There is a difference between knowing about something and knowing something What we believe about God determines how we live it out.
Thoughts- what someone purposes, meditates or plots Think- to weave fabric, to saturate completely
Towards you- towards and upon you, the connotation is that it is flowing towards and upon you. Salom- welfare, health, prosperity Welfare- the good fortune, health, happiness, prosperity, of a person, group, or organization
Nothing broken nothing missing!
Evil- giving pain, unhappiness, misery, disease, calamity, to be broken in pieces
Expected- hope, rope as an attachment
What good is an anchor without a rope!
The anchor is the Promise of God, the Rope is the hope and expectation in that promise.
Thoughts are taken by what we say. God’s thoughts of salom are woven into a rope of hope by saying them out of our own mouth as a lifestyle. When we speak God’s thoughts and promises it attaches us to the anchor.

Looking at the life of Noah as an example of faith living!
1 THE ROAD OF OBEDIENCE
You have to admit it, it takes enormous faith to build a boat, to build a box the size of an aircraft carrier, inland in Iraq, where there is no body of water for anything that size.
The way you live actually matters! You can't just live any way you want to live.
Gen 6: 9 Noah was a righteous man, the only blameless person living on earth at the time, and he walked in close fellowship with God.
Romans 12: 2(NIV). Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. I believe Noah really encapsulates that in his lifestyle. The road that Noah walked was the road of obedience!
Faith = Obedience and Action Heb 11: 1 - 11 Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.
James 2: 14(NLT), faith without works is dead. “What good is it, dear brothers and sisters, if you say you have faith but don’t show it by your actions? Can that kind of faith save anyone?”
So whatever you believe should be translated into your behavior. Belief will correspond to behavior, if it's genuine faith.
2 FAITH AT WORK
God told Noah what was gonna happen and then guided him through the whole process. So this is where the Boat comes in. The Ark. The 120 years long project. 120 years of putting faith into action by swinging that axe and laying the wood...120 years!!
Building the ark was the process to the promised blessing of life.
Staying faithful during the process is what keeps you afloat during the storm!
One person can make a difference. (One of our values here at church is to ‘MAKE A DIFFERENCE BY LOVING PEOPLE”. We believe a single person can have a great impact, but also when we come together, we can have a greater impact.
God's revelation of the future was enough to prompt Noah's demonstration of faith. God said it. He did it. He honoured God's word. God did not have to give him a second warning. He didn't have to give him a sign from heaven. I think God speaking to you is like a sign in and of itself.
3 THE BLESSING IS AT THE END OF OBEDIENCE
Noah found a blessing at the end of the road of his obedience. He even experienced blessing in the midst of the flood/the storm. Noah’s family was saved along with him! THE BLESSING IS COMING:) The blessing is LIFE!
After the Lord told Noah to go into the ark, it happened… Plup, the rain drops started to fall from heaven… The flood came and lasted for 40 days. Everything was washed away, except the ARK/Boat. Noah built ‘THE BIGGER BOAT’!

GEN 6: 14(NLT) “Build a large boat[c] from cypress wood[d] and waterproof it with tar, inside and out. Gen 6: 14 (NIV) So make yourself an ark of cypress[a] wood; make rooms in it and coat it with pitch inside and out. That word Pitch means ‘to cover’ or ‘covering’ or ‘Atonement’.
What it says there is: When you live a life of faith you are covered by the atonement of Jesus. You are covered by the covenantal promise!
Then after the flood we have the rainbow to remind us of the covenant God made with man to never again flood it like then.

Moses was 80 years old when God called him. Caleb, 85, and he said, give me this mountain.
Today we look at somebody else in this hall of faith in Hebrews 11. This person is a man by the name of Abraham. This all started for him at age 75, but he would be 100 years old when he had his firstborn child through Sarah, his wife, and a son by the name of Isaac. What I have discovered in these verses is the writer of Hebrews is saying God has never changed. It has always been by grace through faith; even in the Old Testament.

Age is a limitation for some, but not for God. He can use any person at any age. Abraham was seventy-five years old when God called him and one hundred years old when Isaac was born. Human restrictions and limitations of the past cannot confine God; in fact, He can use those things to accomplish His will for the future.
You may hear people say "I have my own ideas of who God is and I have my own way of living and worshiping and it can't be wrong because it is who I am." The worship that God accepts is the worship that God prescribes. In Hebrews 11, the author provides a list of those who worshiped and lived by faith. The first on the list of examples is Abel. Why Abel? Because Abel is the first person who lived by faith in the biblical record.
Abel's faith made him a martyr. Cain's unbelief made him a murderer. Both lives and stories were turned into legacies. Both of them are sermons that are still lingering to this day. If you have been worshiping God out of your own ability and in your own personal way but it's not what God sees as worship, repent and change your ways. God forgive me for my arrogance of thinking I can do this my way.
Recognize that God is God and you are not. You can not dictate to God what is acceptable worship and what is not acceptable worship. Make an inward commitment to step down from your throne and declare God as the king of your life.
Stop judging others' worship or lack of it. Stop focusing on the songs and music and place your focus on God. Let your life be a sermon of surrender and a desire to do everything God’s way.

Attention-getting events have come to be known as a wake-up calls. Wake-up calls require action. We learn from this message that information without appropriate action can lead to devastation. I Dare You to Live - Pastor Andreas BassonText: John 16: 16-33Jesus always knew what would come next, and we look at three benefits for those who receive Him as Lord and Saviour. I dare you to live life His way. LIVING HOPELASTING JOY (V21-30)Lingering PEACE (v31-33)The disciples were confused when Jesus said, "You will not see Me" (v. 16). Their confusion turned to comfort when Jesus pointed out that their sorrow would turn into joy (see v. 20).Jesus changed Peter's life, transforming him from a fisherman to a fisher of men. When Jeseus was crucified, Peter's hopes were crushed. But when Jesus showed Himself alive, hope made its debut, causing Peter to write, "[God] has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead" (1 Peter 1:3, NIV). Your hope can also be alive because Jesus is alive - I dare you to have a living hope.In John 16:21, Jesus used the example of a baby being born as a metaphor for the resurrection: from pain to proclamation, as grief gives way to gladness.Two thousand years ago, the followers of Jesus asked, "What's next?" after Jesus was crucified and buried. The disciples were concerned and afraid. Yet something crucial happened: Jesus rose from the dead, bringing great joy. Joy is a byproduct of our relationship with God.Jesus told the disciples to "be of good cheer" (v. 33), because He was in control; He knew the resurrection would come from the debris of death.Jesus prepared His disciples for what was next: pain, sorrow, and confusion---but also hope joy and peace. If you should find the perfect church
Without one fault or smear,
For goodness sake! Don't join that church;
You'd spoil the atmosphere.
If you should find the perfect church
Where all anxieties cease
Then pass it by, lest joining it
You'd mar the masterpiece.
If you should find the perfect church
Then don't you ever dare,
To tread upon such holy ground;
You'd be a misfit there.
But since no perfect church exists
Made of imperfect men,
Then let's cease looking for that church
And love the church we're in.
Of course, it's not a perfect church,
That's simple to discern
But you and I and all of us
Could cause the tide to turn.
What fools we are to flee our post
In that unfruitful search
To find at last where problems loom
God proudly builds His church.
So let's keep working in our church
Until the resurrection.
And then we each will join that church
Without an imperfection.

Heaven & hell! We are all going to die - where are you going to go?
FORGIVENESS
Forgiveness should be continual, that it should go on and on. Forgiveness should be the real attitude of a Christian.
If we do not forgive from our hearts after we’ve been forgiven such a great debt by our heavenly Father, we will be delivered into the hands of the tormenters.
Not forgiving after we have been forgiven allows Satan a foothold in our lives.
Unforgiveness should stay in our hearts how long? Only as long as it takes us to go to the Lord and pray. "
What are the tormenters?
They can be all kinds of things— demonic strongholds, oppression, sickness, depression, disease, and many other things. The root is unforgiveness.

We look at the journey the Holy Spirit takes in our relationship with Him; a journey He takes with each of us, if we let Him.
There are three main postures of the Holy Spirit:

being with us / coming after us
-
dwelling inside of us
-
comes upon us
The Holy Spirit comes after us. He pursues us - all our lives until we say Yes to Jesus. Because He has a purpose for our lives and He knows in order to fulfill that purpose, we will need help!

We often want the benefits of having a strong faith, but we don't want the responsibility that comes with that. We want our friends, families, and kids to have faith, but we don't think that really has anything to do with us. In fact, it has a LOT to do with our faith and our personal walk with Jesus! Pastor Andreas looks at the life of Timothy, and the impact that the generations that came before him had on his faith, and two stories that Jesus pointed to in the Old Testament that teach us how our faith has a huge impact on other people!

Every action involves risk, and every life involves storms, but in our lives are we more focused on the risk, wind, and waves? Or are we focused on the Saviour walking on top of the stormy seas, empowering us to walk on them too? It can be so easy for us to slip into habits of apologizing for aspects of our Christian faith because they may rub people or culture the wrong way, yet we know that God's ways lead to abundant life, so why are we apologetic about them? Like in any relationship, the initial passion and love we had for God when we first met Him can start to fade over time. Especially when we go through hard times or difficult seasons, we can lose sight of the 'first love fire' that we had for God when we started walking with Him. This happened to the church in Ephesus too, and in this message, Pastor Jason Ballard of The Way Church shows us how Jesus commends and corrects the church in Ephesus to reignite their first love for God, and calls us to do the same as we come through this current, challenging season.
