Katherine Nasol is an organizer, scholar-activist, and educator dedicated to racial, gender, and economic justice. Her mission is to use storytelling, libratory education, & community-centered research to transform policies and build people power.

She is a PhD Student in the University of California, Davis Cultural Studies Graduate Group where she studies racial capitalism, migration, and policy. Her work includes policy reports on human rights issues in South Africa and Hong Kong, community-centered research projects with trafficked migrant workers & displaced communities, and campaigns for tenant & workers rights in the Bay Area. Her mission stems from her dedication to women of color, LGBTQIA+ communities, & immigrant workers and their families. She is a founding member and Policy Director of the Bulosan Center for Filipinx Studies and is a UC Davis Mellon Public Scholar.

Shannon Trinh is a Marriage and Family Therapist Trainee at Evergreen School District and provides support to elementary school children who face mental health, emotional, social, and academic challenges. She graduated with a B.S. in Psychology from UC Davis and will graduate with a Master’s in Counseling Psychology with a Health Emphasis from Santa Clara University in June 2021. In her approach to therapy, she strives to give hope to those who need a space for authenticity, exploration, and healing. She believes that personal growth takes work, and is willing to help guide her clients every step of the way to achieve their goals and to improve their quality of life. On the side, she supports diverse Bay Area communities through a grassroots community service project called Evergreen Giving Tree alongside her 5 cousins. Shannon is a proud alumni from Notre Dame Class of 2014!

Claudia is a recent grad of ND (2015) and went on to study International Studies and French at Seattle University and graduated cum laude. At SU she studied abroad in Grenoble, France, was a TA and tutor for the French department, and was an ambassador at the International Student Center, helping foreign students studying abroad at SU get adjusted. After graduating she participated in TAPIF, a program that allows for Americans to become an assistant English teacher in France and French territories. She was placed in a high school in Normandy and loved her students, colleagues, and teaching her students English and about life in America. She is currently working as a learning coach during the pandemic, and has applied to study localization management and translation for graduate school.

She has 4 years of experience designing & manufacturing off-roading vehicles (ATV’s) and 2 years of experience designing prototypes and solutions for the Aluminum Industry. Due to the climate crisis the world is facing, she desired to make a positive impact with her engineering career and now works at McKinstry as a Mechanical Engineer. She designs the mechanical systems for Net Zero Energy buildings and Eco-Districts. Her company also specializes in Net Zero Carbon Buildings as well. Outside of work, she always enjoys hobbies that involve creation, whether it is cooking, baking, painting, gardening, or building something out of metal, clay or wood. She loves service and helping her community in Portland, Oregon. Since COVID-19, she has been reading more books than ever before in her life. She is a proud Gonzaga University Alum 19’
