It's been such a long lay-off from podcasting. Not just from producing podcasts, but also from listening to podcasts. Partly due to a sudden influx of work and responsibilities in the stuff I've been committed to. But looking at the visitor stats, there've been people who've been listening to the shows. Thanks ya'll!!!
This is to let you guys know that I'm still around, though I haven't produced a show for a really long time. Looking back, I do enjoy the times when I could intereact with various show pod-producers.
Well, I do certainly hope I can work on more shows... I'll have to tidy up my libsyn and feedburner settings though... it's been a mess.

Kenneth & Helen check out Miniature Golf at Liliputt before a bike ride along a short stretch of the 12km East Coast Park. To get to East Coast Park, grab a cab from Bedok or Eunos MRT, or take a taxi from the Changi International Airport if you've got a couple of hours to spare during transit. Liliputt is found next to Big Splash. The decor isn't much, and it looks a bit tacky... but we sure did have some fun!

we haven't forgotten you after having a great one month away from podcasting. You see, we've been partying TOOOOO hard. Hahaha...
But we'll be back with a show pretty soon! Keep those mails flying in. We've had tons from revellers who came to Singapore over the December holidays and they dropped us Christmas pressies in our mailbox. Awww... that was sooo sweet you guys!

We take a look around at the newly re-opened Bugis Village which is situated opposite the Bugis Junction Shopping centre.
Hear how engrossed Helen was at shopping that she paid no attention to Me near the end of the tour. Plus she gave me the “shut-up” look… biatch!!!!
To get to Bugis Village, take a train to Bugis Station, go up to street level and get to the taxi stand in Bugis Junction. There, you will see that busy pedestrian crossing that's mentioned in the show. Bugis Village is beyond that crossing.
Bugis village is open everyday from 12noon -1030pm.

Kenneth takes us on his first run after 9 months of lazying around. However, in land-scarce Singapore, the roads are busy with cars as well. Hear how Kenneth copes with his run as he brings us on a soundseeing tour through the estates of Hougang, Sengkang and Punggol. He even runs along a bridge that takes him ACROSS an expressway!!! Gosh!

Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon takes place on 04 December and participants will see Singapore on foot from the Esplanade to the East Coast. It is one of the flattest marathons ever with hardly any gradiation!
Housing Board Development Flats – HDB Flats for short. These are government residential apartments. A 105sqm 3-bedroom apartment costs approximately SGD$150,000!!! Damnit! Home-ownership is so frickin expensive!
Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary – An old Catholic church at the borders of Sengkang and Hougang. It has served the Teochew catholic community from the early 1900’s till today. Recently restored, its a nice place for a short time of reflection while in Singapore.
Tampines Expressway / Seletar Expressway runs in a north-easterly direction in the north-east section of Singapore.
We start this podcast on Inside Singapore with a 2.30am supper at Jalan Kayu’s Thasevi Prata place. Other commendable Roti Prata places mentioned in the show are: Abang’s Cheese Prata (at Clementi Road, outside NUS), and Casuarina Road (can’t remember the name of the place).
Ken and Helen give a sound-seeing tour along Jalan Kayu before reaching the car and introducing the Singapore Zoological Gardens found at Mandai. Take a train to deserted Kranji Station and try to flag a taxi to the zoo. It's the most hassle-free way to getting there.
The word "Jalan" means "street" in Malay.

Deepavali: "Festival of Lights" celebrated by the Hindus in Singapore
Hari Raya Puasa: "Muslim New Year" celebrated by the Muslims which marks the end of their 1-month fast period
Kosong Prata: Baked dough (an Indian cuisine taken with sugar or curry) ... DELICIOUS!!!
Cheese Prata: Same as above, but with mozarella cheese in it. It's a Singaporean concoction.
Teh-Tarik: Milk tea that's stirred and shaken - Indian-style. It's done with 2 cups, and the tea is transferred from cup to cup in mid-air. In itself, a great display of skill.
Teh-Peng: Same as above, but with ice.
Singapore Management University (SMU) newly opened their city campus in the heart of downtown Singapore. Helen and Kenneth go check out the pedestrian malls in the lower labyrinths of the new imposing campus. And they're in search of the Kopi Tiam at the campus. "Kopi Tiam" is Singlish for "Coffee Shop". It's like a food canteen with many stalls selling various dishes.
They chance upon "Killiney Kopitiam" in SMU, and they share another famous Kopitiam franchise in Singapore - "Ya Kun Kopitiam". Try their Kaya Toast, as well as their half-boiled eggs with pepper and black sauce. Absolutely delish!!! Our early chinese ancestors' favourite breakfast dish when they were busy building colonial Singapore back in the late 1800's and throughout the 1900's.
They also share what’s life like during their university days in the National University of Singapore (NUS) - Inter-hall Games, Rag & Flag and stuff...
Singapore is pretty small, so we only have 3 Local Universities in Singapore which are:

Helen and Kenneth go visit 2 of Singapore’s more touristy cemeteries that never fail to bring out the awe of the place. It’s not creepy – like a usual cemetery would… instead, it invokes feelings of interest in other cultures, remembering Singapore’s tumultuous past, and standing among heros.

Take Bus 170 from Rochor Road or take a train to Kranji Station and try and catch a cab from that deserted station.
Japanese Cemetery Park is nestled in the Hougang and Kovan estates – more specifically at the junction of Chuan Hoe Avenue and Parry Road.
