The Sound Of Renaissance’ is a monthly podcast series from the respected brand featuring the best in house, techno and atmospheric breaks, all seamlessly mixed in their renowned, trademark style. Also joining the programme will be a guest interviewee to talk in-depth about their musical world, be it DJing, production or both!
TSOR 49 pulls into the station with a carriage packed full of gems, its boiler stoked, ready to ignite the winter season. From the warming ambience of the opening, this lyric-laden journey rides the rails with tracks from Charlotte de Witte, Marion Di Napoli, Monkey Safari (who are headlining our Istanbul showcase at Klein Phonix this month), Tiga, Hudson Mohawke, Braxton, right through to a rather nifty final, three-deck destination, which mashes Sasha and RÜFÜS DU SOL.
Naturally, the label isn’t left out of the journey: AIKON’s ‘Bad Boy’, from his hit EP, adds a rush of class as the mix picks up speed; while Xul Nox, Mr Morek, Stas Drive and LOVAT all feature from the eagerly awaited 'Merin EP Vol. 9'. This is a ride you can’t afford to miss - grab your ticket and settle-in for first class all the way.
TSOR 48 is a bookender! Different mixes of our upcoming release from the much loved and respected Chaim open and close the 70 minute set. Both Tez and Santiago Garcia (another favourite of ours), deliver standout reworks of his Jean Michel Jarre / Italo Disco tribute. Elsewhere, we give an upfront glimpse toward the Merin VA (due November) with Rina & The Flying Spoon; plus Martin HERRS with a track taken from a brilliant, soon-to-drop electronica-driven EP (which also marks his label debut).
The usual cavalcade of key names provide mix support: Adam Port, Jamie xx, Sasha, Mano Le Tough, Yet More, Dominik Marz, EdOne, SIS, plus more… are all along for the seamless ride – check it!
There may suddenly be an Autumnal edge in the air, but the heat remains on at the Sound Of Renaissance! Much of it is underpinned – as ever – by our label output: Abuk & Golden Hour take us to dance church with two tracks from their ‘Let Me Preach EP’; Kadosh and Miguel Sossa feature the beautiful vocals of Shrii with a ‘Night In Bombay’, whilst fast-rising EMJIE’s 'Groove Rider’ keeps the house flag flying with classy aplomb.
Stacked in around that little lot is the usual parade of production prowess: Booka Shade, Robag Wruhme, Henri Bergmann, Ivory, Enzo Siragusa, Sentre plus more… keep the furnace well stoked as the set progresses.
TSOR 45 pulls into summer port with its hold full of suitable vocal loveliness. From the balearic swell of the opening track to the emotive finale, the lyric-heavy journey navigates the likes of Fever Ray, Âme, Jan Blomqvist, Rodriguez Jr., Traumer, Fish Go Deep, Charles Webster and Martin Badder, plus more…
Naturally, our label isn’t left out of the boat: James Harcourt’s ‘Knopfleur’, from his current smash EP of the same name, provides an emotive swell as the mix approaches dock; whilst Alphadog chooses the incomparable Magit Cacoon as his ships mate for ‘Bad Habit’. This is a voyage you really can’t afford to miss – all aboard!
TSOR speeds toward its half-century with another 1 hour (plus) mix of all that’s great and good in the electronic universe. UNKLE, &ME, Hunter/Game, Mano Le Tough, Skatman, Erol Alkan, Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs, Trikk, Daniel Avery and Sasha’s seminal Super Flu collab’ all make the starting eleven, with able support still left on the bench to spare.
The Renaissance crystal ball of label releases is, as ever, prediciting bright things, with the debut of Far&High’s impending ‘Computers’ alongisde the sheer brilliance of James Harcourt, whose ‘AEI’ more than confirms his king of electronica crown.
This month’s TSOR is another varied affair traversing the key foundations of all that’s deep and decent: electronica, Afro, indie and techno, be it Detroit or melodic, all make suitable appearances during the mix’s 70 minute ride. Key names include ODESZA, Seth Troxler, Andhim, Henrik Schwarz, Deer Jade, Emanuel Satie, Tim Englehardt, plus more…
From our label we present the current Notre Dame smash ‘What I Need’ and Mehill’s forthcoming ‘Hole’, which confirms why his continued ascent through the ‘classy’ division of house is no fluke whatsoever. Check it!
42 arrives! As ever, the curation looks to the scenes brightest and best to cover it’s perfectly blended 70 minutes, which includes the rousing finale of Maceo Plex’ ‘Orbital Tribute’ alongside Four Tet, Mita Gami, Jenia Tarsol, Aera, Benjamin Fröhlich, Capoon and more… We’ve even managed to work-up a 3-deck ‘moment’ in and around the Soweto Gospel Choir cover of Inner City’s ‘Good Life’!
Our April label activity features a brace of welcome returns: the smokin’ hot Notre Dame delivers ‘Geisha’ with an amazing rework from Cioz, whilst Vini Pistori makes the jump from BAU_HAUS with ‘Electric Dance’. Beautiful stuff, check it!
Sasha once said, ‘progressive isn’t about genres, rather curating across the board and making it hang together’ (or words to that effect) and, with our 41st edition, we hope we’ve achieved just that! The bumper tracklist takes in minimal, bass, breaks, deep, tech, melodic, Afro and indie house across its 75 minute ride, with tracks from Bicep, Four Tet, Innellea, Christian Löffler, GHEIST, Johannes Brecht, Santiago Garcia and more…
Our label again welcomes old and new to the fold with Radeckt’s brilliant remix of Ebmath alongside Vicky Montefusco’s Italo-inspired bomb, ‘Prosopopea’.
Sound Of Renaissance hits another milestone and enters its ‘middle-aged years’ with another monthly installment of musical goodness. Fittingly, our labels are represented by a roster of returning family members, alongside two debuts: Fec, Omer Bar and Gal Kinnel keep their flags flying, whilst Agustin Giri and Last Men On Earth join the fold.
From the big, wider electronic word we spotlight the usual cavalcade of top-tier talent. Jamie xx, WhoMadeWho, Mind Against, Notre Dame, Kadosh, Basti Grub, Beanfield, Charles Webster and Mulya are just some of the names who make it into the mix.
The first TSOR of ’24 starts the new year deep! If ever a warm musical hug were needed in these colder months, then look no further than the first third of this 70 minute mix. Drawing on the likes of Steve Bug, Ashee, Dovim and, of course, Sasha it’s an opening chapter designed to fire-up the cockles of even the harshest critic. From there, as the set then shifts through the gears, it features the usual roster of marquee names with Solomun, Carlita, Mita Gami, Jonathan Kaspar, Rex The Dog, and Remcord all going ‘one louder’ on the thermostat.
January also marks our 100th label release, which we fittingly handed over to Sasha Carassi, one of our most-capped artists, who reinterprets his own ‘Ametista’ into a 4/4 bomb. Plus, we welcome the return of Radeckt, who continues his ‘Dope Dance’ momentum with ‘Snake Charmer’, confirming he’s one to watch in ‘24.
Energy crisis? Well, turn the central heating off because TSOR 39 is all the fire you need!
TSOR rounds out the year with a bumper 15 track excursion designed to combat any Xmas music fatigue. Many of our favourite sons and daughters make the cut this month with Sasha, Kollektiv Turmstrasse, ANNA, Ivory, Dorian Craft, Robag Wruhme, Last Men On Earth and Sasha Carassi (more from him next month too…) all aboard for a festive knockout.
Label wise we shine a light on gizA djs’ Solomun-championed ‘Dolore Amore’, currently avail’ on our sister label BAU_HAUS; plus Lehar, who closes out the year for us with the incredible ‘Maybe Yes EP’, which also includes electronica gem, ‘2nd September’.
We really pull out the big guns with this month’s TSOR! RÜFÜS DU SOL, Keinemusik, Adriatique, WhoMadeWho, Moderat, Max Cooper, Yør Kultura, Traumer plus more all make it into the mix.
Joining them is the usual cavalcade from our label; Samer Soltan appears twice - ‘Time Machine‘ gets a super-cool electronica rework from Mehill, whilst Squire and his Pole Position alter-ego (with partner Loic Brunch) go full tribal Tenaglia-vibes with their highly creative take on ‘Is This A Dream?’. Also double-dropping is David Granha whose ‘No More’ comes remixed by Maori, hot from the breakout success of ‘Spring Girl’, alongside ‘Kalopsia’, which is one of the most beautiful breaks records you’re likely to hear this year and more than justifies finale-honours as it closes out the mix.
As fires are stoked and the central heating is tentatively toyed with at the start of Autumn’s onset, TSOR’s October drop is a suitably warm musical hug. We once again look to all that’s hot from the techno world, which includes tracks and remixes from Dixon, Laurent Garnier, Echonomist, Upercent, Yør Kultura, Avidus, Remcord and more…
From our labels we showcase upcoming bangers from IDOS, SOEL and the very special pairing of Frankey & Sandrino alongside iconic vocalist Nadia Ali (Iio – Rapture), whose ‘I See You’ gets the Sasha Carassi treatment. Essential listening all round.
The Sound Of Renaissance returns! Following a short summer hiatus our monthly series is back to showcase our label releases alongside the best of all that's current and cutting.

Our labels, Renaissance and BAU_HAUS, are under the usual, strict team orders to compete. Our first TSOR of the year kicks things off on a beautiful, housey note; there's a definite, haunting Tulum vibe to the first half, which is fitting seeing as we've just returned from our amazing Closing Party at the Zamna Festival.
One of the undoubted anthems to come out of the festival was SANDHAUS + Arude & Sincz - 'Sleepless Nights', which features in the mix courtesy of an amazing Namito remix. And, as ever, we also look to future releases and the very exciting prospect of having Pete Tong return to the label with the Goom Gum collaboration, 'Signal', here reworked by the amazing Anja Schneider, who delivers an electronica / breaks interpretation that demonstrates her production diversity.
But the musical goodness doesn't end there, Keinemuisk, RY X, Steve Bug, WhoMadeWho, Patrice Baumel, Issac and many more also make the tracklist grade. - happy listening!

Argy's breakout smash 'Ketuvim' shines bright, before we progress to a fitting finale that features 2 back to back cuts from our forthcoming '2 Doves 1 Snowball EP' by Loew, not least the amazing remix of 'KnifEdge' from man of the moment Emanuel Satie.

April's Sound Of Renaissance starts a little differently with the ambient swells of Framework's touching tribute to the late Angel Moraes, who worked with us a lot over the years and will be greatly missed. RIP Angel.
From there the ethereal feel continues with Gidge; the fabulous Lost Desert re-work of Bedrock's 'Beautiful Strange' and the overlooked 'Secondary Thoughts' from Get Physical's Felix Raphael, before we take an indie dance left turn that includes the utterly brilliant INVŌKER remix of Komenda.
Things power home with the bigs guns: Andhim grind Mathias Tanzmann's 'Coffee Clouds'; Depeche Mode's Martin Gore gets the ANNA treatment and Agents Of Time 'Rise To Power', ahead of a 3-deck finale that features the Leftfield-inspired dub of Calibre & DRS, our return to the ReMix Collection with Yotto's powerful take on 'Garden Of Peace' and Money Safari's rather gorgeous, haunting interpretation of UNDERHER's 'Everything Goes'.

The first third of March’s TSOR has a beautiful melancholy about it. Kicking-off with our current label release from Dee Montero - ‘Athena’ (taken from the Odisea EP - a project that marks his return to the Renaissance label for the first time in 13 years!), it segues into the haunting ‘Episode’ from Woe who hails from Montreal, a city fast becoming a hot-bed for some of the best electronic music producers on the planet, and Namito’s hair-raising ‘Relentless’.
The mix then goes through its customary gear shift with Sasha-championed Sentre; Milio’s acid-tinged ‘Never Say Never’ and the seminal Dixon edit of Revenge’s Auntie Flo rework, before Dee returns with his EP title track, ‘Odisea’, stunningly remixed by Man Power and Raxon drops the techno bass-bomb ‘2121’. Finally, we preview our next release from the hotly-tipped Forgotten Notes, whose ‘Resurrect’ contains a production masterclass of a breakdown.
