Welcome to the show! We discuss the impact we are all capable of having on our own lives and the lives of others through creatively solving problems around us. By actively pursuing a life meant to serve others and live on mission, we are able to become the best versions of ourselves we can be not only for ourselves, but for those who need us most. In this episode, I come back from an almost 3-month hiatus as I work on actively rebranding and telling new stories for Active Mission Survival, the ultimate brand that will house the Active Mission Podcast. Currently, the name of the podcast is up for debate but could stay as is. Meanwhile, I tell you the story of my first time snowboarding, how to survive cold and extreme cold weather based on my own experiences and what I have learned from others, and how to use the stories from today to encourage and inspire you to find the discipline in your life to keep going. Follow me on Instagram at @active_survive and on Twitter at @active_survival (yes, I know the names are different but the same ones were taken on the opposite platform so...I do what I can). Unfortunately, the video quality was trash so I'm waiting until the next episode to share video. Subscribe, share, and please spread the word about what we're all about! Join me on this journey today!

In this episode, Rob breaks down a conversation with his friend Zach, in which we discuss life after college, navigating the world as a couple of young men finding their place in it, fitness, goals, and most importantly, why our generation seems to be so disconnected from reality. We have become overloaded with information to the point that we seem to have created our own. Follow Zach on instagram @z.hutton and you can find me @rob_the_builder1.

In this episode, Rob explains how his second long hiatus, in the midst of the passing of his father and a transition into a new job has impacted his ability to release episodes of the podcast. That being said, the podcast is back, and a new and improved blog, short story submission, and store is coming soon! Details to follow in future episodes. Also just to remind to you all, it's okay to take your time to get back to where you need to be, just as long as you don't become a recluse and allow the world to get in the way of your purpose. Keep your heads up!

At long last...I finally had the opportunity to interview two of my great friends, the "two" and only, Chad and Trevor Pentecost. These two have found a passion and expression in their love for community, music, and yes, brewing beer in their garage on a Saturday night (I have the scars to prove it) all in the means of creating something impactful for themselves and for those around them. In this episode, we discuss their origin and mission, and what it means to fully express yourself, despite the business in our lives. You can check out their music at www.sheepdogmusic.org and follow them on Instagram at @sheepdoglife_ and @sheepdog_music. This will also be our Season 1 finale! Stay tuned on March 28th for a revAMPed season 2 of this podcast and movement. Thanks for listening!

Kyle is a soon-to-be college grad studying graphic/visual communication design at ASU and plans to utilize his skill set immediately. Here you will get the chance to hear someone else's story of finding their passion while we discuss topics about moving on from college, the work force, the whirlwind your early to mid 20's are, and much more. You can follow Kyle on Instagram at @kyleerlandson.ko for some of his content.
Also, BONUS EPISODE this Friday where I give a full non-spolier and spoiler review of The Batman, because I didn't see it 3 times in 4 days for nothing haha!

In this episode, I try to make sense of not only our guest schedule, which is still in the works, but I also try to make sense of boundaries. How we create them, how we enforce them, and how we unlearn some of the stigma surrounding boundaries. For many people, they are told that having boundaries is selfish, but what if I told you that having boundaries lays the foundation for you to get started on your mission in life to become the person you are meant to ultimately be?
And just for fun, I threw in my top 10 favorite funny movies. Guys, we need to laugh sometimes and have a good reason to gather around. These ten movies have had a major impact on my life for a multitude of reasons. Thinking of doing a Mean Girls watch party at some point too...check out the poll below.
As always, check out www.theactivemissionpod.com for more updates on content and gear as time goes on.

Here it is everyone! The first ever Friday Night Fires. In this episode, I share a story I wrote in play format called "Where's Home?" that has been performed and published locally in a collection. While I own the rights to my script, I am excited to be rewriting it and re-releasing it as a short film later this year. In the future, if any of you have short stories, songs, music, or any type of storytelling art that you want shared, I am open for submissions and would love to hear what you all are working on! Stay tuned for more content in the following weeks and with more guest appearances soon...you know, once the zombie plague and adult life slows down just enough to get back on track!

I was on a hiatus from posting episodes for a bit. Between COVID and other life changes happening all at once, it was very easy for me to get lost in everything going on. But what a better way than to address this topic and discuss burnout and over-working ourselves. Wherever we are at in life, we need people on our side who want to fight with us to be better every day.
Interviews will come...thanks for being patient with me! More content to follow and more announcements later!

In this episode, I go through my history of my relationships and how we need to enhance our current relationships and push ourselves out of our comfort zones to pursue new ones. To be clear, this is not a podcast about relationships, but it is essential in becoming the best versions of ourselves not only for us, but mostly for those around us. We have our first guest in next weeks main episode and our first Friday Night Fires convo this Friday so stay tuned!

VOLUME WARNING That's it. You're only warning! In this episode, I figured out how sound works and was able to put some music and sound fx in there for you guys (I claim fair use throughout and no copyright infringement is intended). In this episode, I talk about a cure to boredom and writing out our lives in an effort to hold us accountable to accomplishing our goals. Best part...the more active you are, the less bored you are with life. My website is now up in its beta phase at www.theactivemissionpod.com. Upcoming events, exclusive content and store coming soon.
Tune in next week when I discuss upcoming guests, events, and a content drop that I am excited to provide for you all. Be the person you are supposed to be starting today! It's not too late in 2022.

In this episode, I break down my physical and mental health journey, where I started to where I'm at now. From body dysmorphia to seeing incredible progress over the course of 4 years, I'm excited to see where my physical and mental fitness journeys take me this year! I am also announcing an outdoor blog to be a supporting blog on the active mission podcast. And as an added bonus, I go over my top 10 most disturbing movies I've ever seen, not only to be a warning, but to share in how our creative limits do impact both our physical and mental well-being. I learned by watching these movies what I like and what I don't like as a creator, and how far is truly too far. Tune in this Friday for the first Friday Night Fires and listen in on other people, just like me, making moves and living life to the fullest!

Ep. 1 - Gotta Start Somewhere
Hello! My name is Rob Andrews. I am a designer, musician, athlete, craftsman, and I have no intention of stopping living on an active mission in order to pursue becoming the man I am supposed to be. My goal is to challenge anyone listening, especially young and adult men, to become the best versions of themselves for the people in their lives who need them the most, all while having fun doing it!

So the Friday Night Fires has been postponed, but here we are. Many exciting things are in the works but first, I wanted to get a little real with you all. In this episode, I get real about anxiety, dealing with life in uncertain times, and how we can continue to take action and think outside the box even in uncertain circumstances. Join me next week for more discussions involving creative thinking and how 2022 is shaping the design and creative landscape. Website coming soon.

I promise, this is not meant to be condescending. In fact, my whole goal with this podcast episode is to share my nerd-dom with you all. I know I say the phrase, "for those of you who don't know," a lot in this episode, I only mean well! In this episode, I give my book/movie recommendations of the past year and talk about topics regarding our need, as creators, to rest when we need to. There is no need for us to be overwhelmed so constantly because it is such a depressing way to live. What can you do in your life to rest and come back better than you were before? How can we be better creative thinkers in our lives? Tune in this upcoming Friday for the first "Friday Night Fires" episode, where I will sit around with some friends and catch up about the week.
