Our goal on today’s episode is to shed light on the experiences that many Black girls face, particularly the phenomenon known as adultification. This term refers to the societal tendency to perceive Black girls and women as more mature, independent, and less in need of protection compared to their counterparts from a very young age; as early as five. Research has shown that Black girls are often seen as less innocent and more adult-like than their counterparts. This stereotype has far-reaching consequences, influencing everything from educational opportunities to interactions with law enforcement. It's a multifaceted issue that deserves our attention and understanding. Throughout this episode, we'll navigate through personal stories and practical solutions to address the challenges posed by adultification. Our hope is to create a space for empathy, education, and empowerment. So, journey with us as we unravel the layers of this important topic and work towards fostering a more inclusive and supportive society for Black women and girls.Follow your hosts Brandi @evolution_of_be and Christian @ms.christianfcollins

Alicia’s book will show you how to play chess, transition, shift, and, if you'd like, get ready for your next move. They encourage candidates to ask the right questions with the mentality of appropriately “dating management” while sharing candidly their observations, and insider knowledge of navigating surroundings with a higher possibility of unsafe spaces. Lastly, they stress the importance and responsibility on the part of older women to mentor younger women in navigating corporate America. Alicia concludes by advising black women to concentrate on using their digital footprints to penetrate the market in order to prepare them for their next.Follow your hosts Brandi @evolution_of_be and Christian @ms.christianfcollins

Conducive learning environments, economic stability, and academic access all play an invaluable role in the early developmental stages of Black youth to ensure their higher education dreams and goals. According to the Institute on Assets and Social Policy (IASP): Black borrowers are disproportionately burdened by student loan debt. In this episode we dive deep into resource avenues to caregiving. We discuss the importance of assessing your preparedness before tragedy hits. Being okay with your limitations. Do what you can and delegate the rest. Tap into all networks, but also extend grace to those who don't have the capacity to help in this area.

Look into community resources providing volunteer hours, local senior centers, support groups, post a request on social media, follow social media accounts, nonprofits, reach out to your local faith based organization, wellness apps (Calm app, medical group wellness apps), technology aides, advocate to their healthcare providers for home health services and in home support services, and your job resources.
