Sarah Garnham is a prominent left wing activist. She is a staunch socialist and member of Socialist Alternative. She was previously the head of the National Students Union. She writes regularly for Red Flag magazine and has given multiple talks at Marxism Festival in Melbourne and Sydney. She is one of the most passionate, devoted, inspiring and intelligent people I’ve ever met and she also happens to be my sister. This is a big chat between siblings about politics. This is one of my favourite episodes of the podcast so far! Patrick Livesey is an amazing actor and writer. He’s written two phenomenal theatre shows that we dissect in this episode. His debut show The Boy George is set in the future in 14 year old Prince George’s bedroom as he comes to terms with the crumbling of the monarchy and his place in the world and the monarchy’s role. His second show Gone Girls was similarly a make believe scenario whereby Julia Gillard and Julie Bishop form an alliance to destroy the patriarchy from within. Pat is a beautiful story teller. Hearing him speak about politics and his own life is mesmerising.

You can see Pat's show Gone Girls in Melbourne next year! Definitely recommend checking it out.

Emmet Kirwan is an Irish writer, actor, poet. I heard one of his poems 'Heartbreak' on the radio recently and it stopped me in my tracks. It won the IFTA Award for Best Short Film and for me personally it is one of the most powerful pieces of art I've ever been exposed to. His play Dublin Old School which he also adapted into a feature film has been showered in awards and praise. He also wrote and starred in the Irish cult classic series Sarah and Steve. Emmet speaks so passionately and eloquently, he is a joy to listen to. I'm sure you'll know what I mean when you start listening.

Aidan Jones is a great comedian and friend. His festival shows in recent years have been hugely successful and highly regarded both in Australia and the UK. His show 'The Abersham Flat' was poignant and had a big effect on me. He is very good at articulating his emotions both on and off stage. His upcoming stand up show 'Taco' is about him meeting his biological father and will be touring around Australia (pandemic dependant) in 2021. We spoke about this and comedy and lockdown blues and love and mental health. Enjoy!
